Chapter 10:

Resolving Conflicts

The next day was the day Cosmo and Wanda left Rio. It had been a fun, yet kind of strange, trip and while Rio was a blast it was time to head back home for a while and start planning their next trip.

Wanda woke up the next morning to the sound of the alarm she had set. She sat up and stretched and then looked at her husband who was buried in the white blankets of the hotel bed still fast asleep. She leaned down and kissed his forehead. "Wake up sweetie."

She then got out of bed herself and slipped on her silky robe that was hanging by the side of the bed. She was about to start getting dressed herself but noticed Cosmo hadn't moved an inch. She rolled her eyes, waking him up was always a challenge. "Honey, we've got to check out soon."

He just grunted in response.

Alright, she thought, no more miss nice girl. She picked up a pillow and threw it at his head. That definitely woke him up as he jumped and let out a yelp.

"Hey!" he exclaimed.

"It's time to wake up," she said with a smirk.

"A gentler way to wake up would be much appreciated," he said.

"I try to be gentle, it doesn't work." She went over to the dresser and bent over to open the drawer and pull out some clothes.

Cosmo watched her as she did. "Nice ass."

She turned to face him and blew him a kiss.

"Come here honey," he said.

She flew over and sat next to him. Before she could say anything he pulled her to him and tackled her down to her back. She let out a loud giggle as he started kissing her neck.

"Mmm Cosmo…!" she said in a cross between a moan and a laugh. "Honey, we need to get up now." She tried to be firm but she didn't sound convincing even to her.

He placed his forehead on hers and the smirk on his face was clear. "I think a quickie would be nice," he said as he started to untie her robe. "What do you think?"

She was about to protest, but the way he began caressing her breasts made it impossible. "You're really bad you know that?" she said.

He chuckled. "You love me for it."

"Yes, I do." With that she pulled him down to her for another kiss.

After spending yet another morning showing each other how much they love each other, they were finally packing up their things and getting ready to go.

As Wanda was doing her hair and Cosmo was packing up his suitcase, he couldn't help but think about last night at the party. It had been strange and unexpected. But he wondered how Tamara was doing now. He had up and left her to find Wanda after all. It had been out of concern for his wife and an attempt to get out of the awkward situation of Tamara confessing her love for him and trying to kiss him again, but he still felt bad about it. If he left now, he didn't know when he would see her again and the guilt over it wouldn't end.

He went over to Wanda and kissed her cheek. "I'll be back in a little bit."

"Okay," she said giving him another kiss not thinking to ask where he was going.

He left the room and went down the hallway to Tamara's room. He wasn't really sure what to say. The only way he could really make Tamara happy was to tell her he would be with her and that wasn't going to happen. But he wasn't one to think about things before he did them, he was more of the make it up as he went along type of guy.

When he knocked on the door it was Vince who answered instead.

"What do you want?" Vince said.

"Is Tamara here?" Cosmo asked not sending the malice in his voice.

"No, I haven't seen her since last night," he said. "What do you want to talk to her for anyway? I know she wants to be with you, if she didn't make it obvious enough. You come by to hook up with her or something."

"I don't like Tamara that way, we're just friends," Cosmo said.

Vince snorted. "Yeah, sure."

"Why do you care anyway?" Cosmo said starting to catch on. "You were trying to hook up with Wanda. You don't deserve a girl like Tamara anyway."

"You're full of shit…"

"No, you are. You should be ashamed of yourself for treating Tamara the way you have. She deserves way better than you anyway."

With that he left nearly seething with anger. Vince reminded him of Juandissimo, the type of guy who acted all big and bad but really didn't care about anyone but himself and had no idea how to treat a lady. If it wasn't going to be him, he hoped that Tamara found someone way better than Vince would ever be.

And yet, Cosmo sulked at a loss for where else Tamara would be. Maybe she had gone home. What was the other explanation if she wasn't going to stay with Vince anymore?

However, on a whim he wanted to try one more thing and went down to the hotel lobby hoping to find her there.

He searched the vast area that was once again decorated in a jungle theme and almost didn't find her. He was going to go back to Wanda when he found her sitting at a table in the corner with a hot drink in her hands.

Feeling a sense of relief, he flew over to her. "There you are, I've been looking everywhere for you."

"Hi Cosmo," she said. To his surprise, she seemed to be a lot more upbeat than she was last night.

He sat in the chair across from her. "We're going back home today but I just wanted to check on you. I wanted to make sure you were alright, you know, after last night...I mean, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or anything, but I also didn't want to leave and make you think I was mad at you…" He noticed the patient smile on her face. "I'm rambling now, I'm sorry."

"No, it's okay," she said. "I was the one that was wrong, always. It was selfish of me to ever suggest that we try anything. I always liked you and I was jealous and...and I shouldn't have done any of the things I've done before."

"It's okay," Cosmo said quickly. "Because we're still friends, right?"

"Of course we are," she said, placing her hand on his.

Wanda had come down looking for Cosmo. He had been taking forever. She'd had all of their luggage brought downstairs and was searching all over the lobby hoping to find him there. Her heart sank when she saw him sitting with Tamara holding her hand.

On the way back to their hotel room last night he had told her everything that had taken place with Tamara. After the argument at the pool, she was sure that Tamara still hated her and was out to take Cosmo for herself. She hadn't wanted to believe it of course and was hoping they could get home without running into her. But now the moment she had feared was right in front of her and as Wanda approached them she didn't know what to expect.

"Hey snookie," Cosmo said as they saw her coming.

Before Wanda could say anything, Tamara spoke. "Wanda, I'm sorry."

"You...you are?" Wanda said in shock.

"Yes, I'm so sorry for everything I said to you the other night. It was horrible of me."

"Oh, well, it's okay," Wanda said with a smile.

"I've moved on, you know? There are a lot of things I've been thinking about and I've realized that I could never come between you two."

Another fairy approached them. To Cosmo and Wanda's surprise, it was the barista from the cafe.

"Hey Tamara," he said as he sat next to her. "Who are your friends?"

"Cosmo and Wanda, you remember seeing theme at the cafe a few days ago?"

"Oh yeah, I'm Steven," he said.

"Are you two a thing now?" Cosmo asked.

Tamara blushed. "Um, yeah. After you left last night, I went to the cafe."

"We were already closed but I left her in and we ended up talking for hours," Steven said. He squeezed her hand. "She's a cool girl."

Tanara blushed even more. "Steven…"

"I approve," Cosmo said.

Tamara laughed a bit. "Well, as long as you approve."

"We should all hang out sometime," Wanda said. "You know, if you're ever in the area or we're back here."

"I have a feeling we'll see each other soon," Tamara said.

"Good, there's this new game at the arcade back home that's super awesome," Cosmo said.

"And I'll beat you in it," Tamara said.

"You're on!" The two high fived and Wanda and Steve laughed.
