Chapter 10

"We have to do something!"

Stiles was pacing like crazy in my living room for what seemed like hours. Lydia and I were freaking out by now.

"Isn't there like a druid-y concoction or whatever that can help us find them?"

"Stiles I'm an emissary not a witch doctor. You need to calm down."

Lydia pulled him to the couch and rubbed his back in a futile atempt to calm him down. The boy was so stressed that I could imagine him pulling his hair out.

"I can't! I just can't..."

"Stiles, look at me!" Said the redhead placing her hands on his cheeks. He did as he was told but looked in the verge of tears. "I know this sucks and we'll help you but you need to relax, okay? Maybe I can even try to locate them, I guess being a Banshee and all that..."

But before she could finish, Stiles interrupted her. Wiping his tears he looked at her with an interrogatory expression.

"That's what you are? A Banshee?" She nodded. "That's...just wow. It´s definitely better than being a psychic. Maybe now we can figure out a way to actually trigger your powers."

This boy was amazing! I had no other words to describe him. Even though he was going through a lot right now he was still willing to help a friend.

"Yeah. I mean, I never dealt with a banshee before but I know a couple of basic things about them and if you want to Lydia, I can call my mom. Maybe she has a book or something." I added.

"You would do that? Thank you!" Once again the girl smiled.

"And you..." I pointed at Stiles. "Don't worry about it. We'll find your dad and everyone else."

Stiles got up and hugged me. He smiled until he noticed what I think was the huge bruise on my neck.

"What the hell happened to you after we left?"

I shrugged.

"Blame it on Aiden." Stiles looked at me with a freaked out expression. "It's a long story. I'll go get the ice cream and we'll tell you everything."

I went into the kitchen and brought a huge bucket of Ben & Jerry's cookie dough flavored ice cream. Grabbing three spoons I walked back into the small living room.

Stiles and Lydia were already cosy. If she wasn't Aiden's mate I would really encourage her to go out with Stiles. They looked so cute together.

Sitting in the other corner of the couch I gave a spoon to each of them and with no delay started eating the ice cream. I stopped when I noticed that both of them were just staring at me.

"What? Do I have something on my face?"

"No, your face is...perfect. I had no idea you were an ice cream junky."

I really was an ice cream junky, now that I thought about it. There was no way I could deny that so I just shrugged.

"What can I say? Some people jog, others get drunk and I eat ice cream when I'm stressed or moody or whenever I feel like it." They laughed again. Seriously what was going on with them? I wasn't even that funny. "What do you wanna know Stilinsky?"

"Everything!"

And that was exactly what we did. We told him what had happened after he and Scott left, which wasn't much anyway. After a couple of minutes my newly found friends starting eating ice cream and we kept talking until 2 a.m at least. I seriously don't remember falling asleep but I do remember waking up to a very startled Stiles.

"Dude, why are you screaming? Did someone break in?"

"Yes!"

I looked around and my eyes finally landed on Derek and Cora. She looked a lot better, even healthier if I dare to say. And Derek...well he looked a lot like I remembered him just a lot more muscular and broody.

"You."

I nodded and looked him right in the eyes. They were still very green and they kept drawing me in just like when I was a child.

"It's nice to see you again, Derek."

Stiles and even Cora kept looking between both of us since we were staring at each other at the moment.

"You know each other?" Asked Cora.

"I'm his mate."

"She's my mate."

We said at the same time without looking at everyone else. All I wanted to do was hug him but I couldn't. He probably hated me anyway.

"Well...okay. This is so akward."

"Tell me about it." Cora said and elbowed her brother. He glared at her but she ignored it. "Thanks for helping me. I know I wasn't exactly nice to you but..."

I wasn't one to hold grudges. According to Charlie I was "way too nice" for that, besides if I was in her shoes I would probably react the same way.

"It's fine, really. I didn't do anything. Do you need something?"

Derek was the one who answered me.

"We came to ask you a couple of questions..." he stopped abruptly and frowned at something. "What is that on your neck?"

Jesus! Everyone needed to stop focusing on my neck. When all of this was over I was going to kick Aiden's ass for that bruise. I could hear the anger on Derek's voice. He looked ready to kill someone. I couldn't tell him the truth because if I did he was going to find Aiden and get himself killed but I couldn't lie to him either. So I took the easy way out. I ommited what happened.

"Don't worry about it. It's just a battle wound."

Stiles scoffed.

"It's a battle wound alright!" I punched him lightly on the arm.

"Ow! What was that for?"

I rolled my eyes at him.

"Can you please go wake Lydia up? I'll make coffee and then we'll talk." He left and muttered something under his breath that I couldn't hear.

I walked in the living room just like I had the night before and got comfy. Lydia was already awake. After a couple of minutes of silence, Derek's voice was heard.

"Last night, Jennifer told me something." He looked up and straight into my eyes. "She said that Paige was marked. Do you know what that means?"

My eyes widened. I didn't know how to tell him this but I had no choice...

"It means that you did her a favor when you killed her."
