"Quinn? Can you come with me to get my tuxedo?" It was already 3 in the afternoon so most of the people were either just lounging by the pool or are in their respective rooms while Quinn and Rachel were in the living room.
Quinn looks up from the book she's reading and places it on the coffee table. Rachel smiles at Finn and goes back to watching the show on the television.
The blonde looks at Rachel who in turn looks at Quinn with a quizzical look and smiles at her, "You can go if you want baby. I'm actually going to my parents house so maybe I'll catch up with you guys later, okay?"
She nods her head as Finn smirks at them and inclines his head as if saying 'Let's go'. Before they were even out the door, Rachel gives a quick kiss to Quinn which made her look a bit dazed.
"No need for you guys to make out now, we've got a tuxedo waiting." She feels Finn's hand on the small of her back and pushes her towards the door.
She looks back to see Rachel's cheeks tinged with red with her brows scrunched up and is looking down… like she can't believe what she just did.
"You guys are still the disgusting couple I knew since high school," Quinn looks away from Rachel to see Finn smile at her. She shakes her head and pushes him a little which earned her a laugh from the former quarterback.
"Yeah well, look what got the big bad Finn wanting to say I do." Finn ruffles her hair affectionately once they got inside the car.
As they drove away Quinn gets a text from Rachel which made her smile. Finn sees her smiling, "Is that Rachel?" The blonde nods before pocketing her phone and hears him mumble, "Well I can't see why you shouldn't follow me in saying that I do, huh?"
Quinn looks at the pool as the cold night air leaves goosebumps on her arms. She wasn't wearing her coat perhaps she must've forgotten on wearing it when she was hurriedly getting out of the house.
Awhile ago she was just propped up on their bed, reading a book while Rachel was still in the shower. It was 8 o'clock in the evening and their day was spent on going to the shops and having their gowns fitted.
"What book are you reading?" Quinn looks up and her eyes almost bulged out. The first thing she saw were those toned, tanned legs. Her eyes kept straying upwards and can make out those small droplets of water cascading from Rachel's hair and disappearing as the towel traitorously seeps it after meeting her cleavage.
She gulps down something on her throat almost forgetting what was the title of the book that had her reading a few minutes ago.
"Oh… ummm…" she shakes her head as Rachel sits down on the vanity and begins to dry her hair, "The Dark Half by Stephen King."
"Is it any good?" Quinn is grateful for the sounds of the hair dryer because it conceals the rapid beating of Quinn's heart as she stares at her back.
This is maybe because I haven't had sex for weeks now, Quinn reasons out. Yeah, that must be it. Quinn gets up as Rachel was getting clothes from the drawer, "Ummm… I'm just gonna go outside and get some fresh air, will that be okay?"
"Yeah sure." Was the short and confused reply of the brunette as Quinn heads out quickly towards the pool.
"Hey." Quinn turns her head, hoping to see Rachel to apologize for not answering her question but her smile diminished as the face of Emma appeared from the shadows.
She nods to acknowledge her and goes back to staring at the pool. Emma stands beside her and smiles at the blonde's reflection from the water.
"So… what has you doing here when you're supposed to be upstairs with your girlfriend?"
Quinn almost snarls at how the other woman says the word girlfriend with so much disdain but holds back. She doesn't know her… nor does she even have the slightest of interest to get to know her.
The blonde shrugs, not wanting to open up to Emma. Why should she? The blonde's business isn't any of her concern.
Emma opens her mouth but someone inside the house calls her which she rolls her eyes and looks apologetically at Quinn, "Sorry to keep this conversation short."
Quinn just nodded as Emma gets inside the house. She sighs as she hears the door close behind her, she looks down yet again when she hears the door opens and sees Santana smiling at her.
"So instead of that lousy answer you gave to the bitch, tell me. What in the name of Jesus are you doing here?"
"I was just thinking."
The raven haired Latina looks at her best friend and sighs, "I know you for a long time Q. I also learned that in the past few years of our life, I know that your just thinking is a means of saying you're trying to make a life changing decision."
Quinn laughs half-heartedly but doesn't answer back to Santana. The Latina's smile fades and almost feels guilty for helping Finn.
"Look Quinn, I know it's hard being around Rachel since she's loud and obnoxious but don't worry," she slaps the blonde's back in a reassuring manner for emphasis, "this'll all be over after the wedding."
She waits for a long time until the most unexpected happens when she hears a soft murmur from beside her, "But what if… I don't want this to end?"
Santana's eyes search for her friend's face for any sign that what she meant wasn't true. She didn't get any.
"Do you still have feelings for her?"
"No…" Santana quirks her eyebrow and Quinn sighs in defeat, throwing her hands for good measure.
"I just don't know anymore… yes? Maybe? I thought I've buried all of those feelings towards Rachel a long time ago and now they just floated like a magician trying to pull a rabbit from his hat."
"But I thought you did," came the stern voice of Santana as Quinn looks away. She knows the blonde is trying to hide those tears so the Latina walks in front of her friend and can see her trying to wipe at her eyes, "you said you didn't care anymore, you said you didn't love Rachel anymore."
"I know what I said!" Quinn hisses at Santana as more tears came, "and I had to mean them like I did or else she wouldn't be in that fucking studio, singing those fucking songs and learning those fucking dance moves I taught her if I didn't pretend like I still loved her!"
Santana's mouth drops open as she became confused, "What-"
"Her dad told me everything, San" Quinn continues on without letting the Latina finish, "he told me three months before graduation… that Rachel wasn't planning on going to New York because she wanted to follow me to L.A."
She looks down on the ground feeling her eyes burn already from all of the crying, "he told me that I should do something because Rachel was willing to give her dreams up just for me!"
She remembered that day so clearly in her mind… how Rachel's father look so defeated with his shoulders slumped and his head bowed down as he told Quinn how his daughter thought about not anymore thinking about NYADA. How the brunette even considered in finding another school in Los Angeles just so she can be with Quinn.
"I tried, Santana.." Quinn says in a watery chuckle while her friend just looks at her helplessly, "I tried trying to find another way to convince Rachel… but you know how she is."
"Pfft… yeah, she can be a bit impulsive,"
Quinn nods, agreeing to how Santana just described Rachel, "Impulsive and stubborn. So I tried to give hints about what are the good points if she'll enroll in NYADA than in California but she wasn't listening."
Santana nods in understanding and just continued the story Quinn couldn't bear to finish, "So you tried to avoid her then?"
The small sob that came out of her friend was the only thing she needed to hear before pulling the blonde into a tight comforting hug, "You better put on some damn good makeup tomorrow or you won't get to sing that stupid song Finn wanted the two of you to sing."
She waited what would be the answer she's going to get and laughs when she hears Quinn mumble, "Shit… I forgot about that."
Hey guys, so next up would be a point of view from Rachel. Hope to see some reviews after this, have a nice day or night wherever you're reading this.
