A/N: So sorry for not updating for a while! My computer is so messed up but I can't get it fixed...and I'm going through a small phase of writers block. I hope it will be over by the time it's the next time I said I would be able to post! I really am sorry, hope this makes up for it!
Nixie sighed as she closed the door to her house. "MOM! DAD!" She yelled a little pissed.
"What is it sweetie?" Her dad asked with a frown.
"Am I adopted?!" She asked. She shook her head. "I don't know what to think anymore. Are you two my real parents? I mean because three people just bombarded me and told me I was adopted! And they also said something way crazier! Now I need the truth. I demand the truth!" She yelled.
"Calm down Aeryn." Her mother said.
"It's Nixie! For god sake I hate the name Aeryn! And tell me the truth! Now! I deserve the truth!"
Her parents shared a look and then sighed. "Nixie…you weren't adopted…not legally…. You're father…Poseidon gave you to us."
Nixie's eyes widened. "And you didn't think of telling me?!" She yelled. "All my life I thought you were my real parents! And then I have to find out by my brother! Or I don't really know if he is my brother but still! I had to find out from someone else! I thought you were my parents!" She tuned to her dad, Richard. "I thought you were my dad! I trusted you to tell me the truth!"
"The truth was too dangerous! Aeryn Nixie Jackson! You will listen to us! You're father told us what to do! He granted me a human form instead of just the way I looked. I could grow old but once I return to the water…I turn how I looked before he gave me you. You're father, Richard I mean, is a Satyr. Why do you think he always wears long hair and baseball caps? To hide his horns. We don't love each other. We like each other but…not that way." Piper said. Nixie didn't think of them as parents. Not anymore.
"I. Hate. You. You lied to me! You told me you would always tell me the truth!" Nixie yelled. "Thanks for the lie!" She yelled sarcastically. She ran up the stairs to her room and shut the door. She grabbed a bag and started packing. She didn't care about anything except that the boy was right. Percy was right. Even her mom called her Jackson instead of Hallows. The only problem would be how did she communicate with him? How would she be able to find him? That was the only questions she needed the answers to.
"Nixie. Listen to me. Your mother, Piper and I, we were only doing what we were told to do. Poseidon told us to raise you as our own. That you were his daughter but could never find out until the time was right. And I guess the time is now." Richard said with a sigh. "I'm sorry for lying to you but I had to. If I didn't have to I wouldn't." He told her.
"Whatever Richard. I don't care anymore. The only thing I care about is how that boy, Percy, was right! He's my brother and now that I know that, I'm going to find him and you can't do anything about it!" Nixie yelled.
"Please, just calm down. Please." Richard begged through the door. Nixie opened the window and glanced at the door. "Please, Nixie. Just come out of that door and calm down. We need to talk." Nixie shook her head.
"No can do Richard." Nixie said jumping out of the window. She hit the swimming pool, and yes it was cold. She got out and realized she wasn't even wet. "What…?" She asked confused.
"Nixie! Don't leave! We need to talk!" Richard yelled out of the window seeing her on the ground.
"I don't need to listen to you anymore. I'm not even adopted to you. It's not even legal." Nixie told him. Nixie ran out as she heard Piper.
"No! Aeryn! Come back! There are dangers out there you don't know of!" Piper yelled.
Nixie didn't listen. They had their chance. They had their chance to tell her about the adoption. That's the least they could've told her. They could've told her that she was adopted. That was the least they could've done. Now Nixie was angry. They thought they could save her? Well, Nixie wasn't one that needed saving. She never had been. They didn't tell her for her own protection? Nixie didn't need protecting. She could protect herself. No matter what people thought, Nixie wasn't one to go to help unless she was far too deep. And she knew she needed help, just not her parents help. She needed the three people who had told her who she really was. But how? She sighed and glanced around. She wasn't taking her car. What if her parents had some kind of GPS signal? She knew she was being kind of paranoid but she had no clue what to except from them anymore. She grabbed her phone and thought for a moment. "If I was one of my characters…what would I do?" She knew exactly what she would do when she thought about that. She started walking towards the only hotel in Forney.
After walking for about an hour, she had been on the other side of town, the young girl walked out towards the hotel. She opened the door and wiped the sweat from her brow. She walked up to the receptionist or whatever, she didn't know what they were called. "Excuse me. I'm looking for a Percy Jackson…or Annabeth. I don't know what the name is under but I need to see them."
"Nixie!" A girl's voice exclaimed. Nixie turned around to see Annabeth.
"Hi, that's me." Nixie said with a small and tight smile. She walked over to Annabeth and sighed. "So…my dad's Poseidon?" She asked swallowing some saliva. Annabeth nodded.
"Yeah…it's a really big thing to wrap your head around at first. My mom is Athena, like I said. And your brother is Percy so his father is Poseidon also. Let's go to the room so you can talk to Percy." Nixie nodded and followed Annabeth.
