Hey everyone! Sorry for how long it's been. Honestly, got bored with story, but I didn't want to finish it or scrap it early so I took a break, writing whenever I felt like it. It has helped me write better (in my opinion) and I'm enjoying it more. So I'm afraid I have no upload routine, but I'll try to upload as much as I can, even if it's only a short, 500 word chapter.
I have also been distracted with reading (and re-reading as this story, as it is just that good) a Fanfic called: Summer Vacation, which is the first one, and its sequel, Summer Vacation: Back To Class. They are by Twireader81. The sequel is still in progress but is being updated every day, sometimes twice a day. It is amazing and it keeps me up at night, being excited for the next chapter. Please read it!
This may sound really stupid, but do you have to disclaim every chapter? As I'm new to fan fiction, and I don't want to break any rules, but I'm a little confused. If anyone can tell me, then please and thank you! I will say that I do not own the Twilight saga (sadly). All I own are the strange scenarios that Stephanie Meyer's own characters take part in.
Christmas at the Cullen's Chapter 9
After 10 minutes alone with Edward, the family slowly started filing in. Esme and Carlisle came in first and started reading next to each other, quietly murmuring to each other. Alice and Jasper came in then, Alice practically dancing towards the empty sofa in the corner, Jasper trailing not too far behind. Next to enter were Emmett and Rose. Rose came in with quiet grace, sitting on the woollen rug on the floor. Emmett of course was another thing. He came in really loudly and proudly. Grinning his ears of, not noticing the glares the females had sent his way. He stormed over to his wife on the floor and picked her up before sitting down with Rose on his lap. After a few moments of silence in remembered that I had to call Renee.
"Oh! I need to call Renee!"
No sooner than I had said those words, Esme was by my side with the home phone in hand.
"Thanks" I say, grinning sheepishly. Esme simply smiles at me warmly, pats my hands then goes back to her seat next to Carlisle. I head upstairs, with Edward close behind me. I go straight to his room and sit on his bed, all the while dialling Renee's home phone number, knowing that she has probably lost her phone charger, again. Edward situates himself just behind me. Occupying himself with the ends of my hair.
"Hello! Merry Christmas Bella dear!" Renee exclaims, breaking me from my thoughts.
"Hi Mom! Merry Christmas! How are you?" I ask.
"Just great! Oh my Bella, Phil gave me this most amazing jewellery set, with actual diamonds in the necklace! It's so feminine! What did you get from Edward?" she asks, almost challengingly.
"A lovely Pandora charm bracelet and other bits of jewellery and a trip to England and Paris! Wow mom, the presents from Phil sound great!" I say, happy that she's happy.
"Wow! Edward sure has great taste..."
I talk to Renee for an hour, not having much input, as Renee was going on about her day, after trying to get details on my non-existent sex-life, much to Edwards amusement and my embarrassment. Renee's lack of interest in my life did upset me a little, but it's okay. It's not going to ruin my Christmas with the Cullen's. Edward could tell I was bothered by it, at least a little; his eyes were a dark shade of gold, not in hunger, but in anger. He was angry at Renee's lack of interest, but I quickly reassured him that I was alright and she was not going to ruin our day.
We head back downstairs where the boy's were watching football and Alice and Rose were talking fashion. Just as I was about to ask where Esme is, I smell food being made from the kitchen. Knowing that it's Esme cooking the food, I follow the exquisite smell through to the kitchen.
In the kitchen, Esme is making what looks like to be a batch of angel shaped shortbread cookies and some minestrone soup. My favourite! Esme looks at me knowingly, having witnessed me crave this soup before, which was the last time Edward was away hunting. I eagerly sit down at the table, Edward laughing behind me, either at how eager I looked for the soup, or how I managed to run around a set of chairs and not trip over the legs. Either way, I maturely turn my head towards him and stick my tongue out at him, making him laugh harder. He sat down next to me and pulled me into a passionate kiss. When we broke away, breathless, I noticed that Esme had placed my soup in a bowl, with a plate of 4 shortbread angels, in front of me. I dig in, mumbling a quick thanks to Esme, who simply patted my shoulder, smiling warmly at me, before turning, walking into the kitchen. I had never tasted Esme's Minestrone before, but like all the food she makes, it tastes amazing. Even the food Edward cooks is better than mine. Stupid, shiny Volvo owner. I inwardly curse chuckling a little in my mind, remembering the first time I thought that.
Edward sits with me while I finish my soup, and nibble on my shortbread. He plays with me hair, plating it, before taking it out and running his fingers through it. I eat quickly, wanting to get back to the day at hand. We were talking about watching 'Elf', later. That or 'It's a Wonderful Life'. Knowing the Cullen's, we'll end up watching both over the next few days. Done with my soup, I send Charlie a text, saying 'Merry Christmas'. Knowing he won't be able to reply instantly, I get up, pulling Edward in tow, and go through to the living room, and placing my bowl in the dish washer on the way out. Normally I would stay and wash it myself, but the want to go back and spend time with the Cullen's today overcame the need to clean,
Everyone was still in the living room when we got back. Edward pulled me to the loveseat at the far end of the room. I perch on the arm of the loveseat, but Edward, not having that, pulls me down on his lap. Alice is looking through her presents, as is Jasper. Rose and Emmett are having a quite conversation with each other as are Esme and Carlisle.
I snuggle into Edward, who pulls me tight to his chest, kissing my cheek and neck. I don't know how long we sit here for. I'm quite comfortable, I don't want to move.
….15 minutes later…..
"I have an idea! Let's watch that Home Alone movie we saw advertised the other day! I recorded it for us!" Alice trills.
I sit up excitedly. Home Alone is one of my favourite Christmas movies. When I was little, I would pretend that I was Kevin, and was left home alone. I always had ideas of what I would do in that situation. Edward smiles at my eagerness. He then proceeds to ask me what it is about. I gasp. How could he not have seen that film! He may be set in his ways but oh my!
"Edward… how have you not seen that movie!" I somehow get out, in my state of shock.
"No love, but something tells me I've been missing out by not watching this film" He laughs out. Grinning, I agree with him on his last statement and then kiss his chin and cuddle more into him. He pulls me against him tightly, while Alice puts the movie in. Esme flitters out of the room, and appears seconds later with a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows. I thank her and take a quick sip, checking how hot it is. Perfect temperature. I smile at the cup, before turning my attention to the film's opening credits.
…90 minutes later…..
The film had just come to an end, and we were all still laughing hard. Emmet loved how the burglars kept going after Kevin, despite the injuries. It took everyone a minute to calm down.
"You're right, love. That's an amazing film!" He says, laughing. I smile at him, which he returns. He tilts my chin up and kisses me, taking my breath away.
"Alright guys break it up! I have an announcement!" Alice sequels, effectively breaking us apart.
Ignoring the scowls me and Edward send her, she continues on.
"The annual charity ball, held at the hospital. Well, it's on tomorrow! And guess what! We are all going! No whining Bella, it's for a good cause!" She says. Her last statement made me laugh. I wasn't even going to complain. An evening spent wrapped up in Edward's arms? No complaints there.
"Okay Alice, I'll go no complaints." I say, feeling Edward smile into my neck at my easy acceptance. Happy with my answer, she prances upstairs, mumbling something about finding the dresses for tomorrow. Knowing that would keep her occupied for at least half an hour, me and Edward walk upstairs to his bedroom and sprawl out on his couch.
"Love, Esme is about to start making tea. She is asking me to ask you, if you are sure you don't want a Christmas dinner? Remember, it's the last chance to have one, on Christmas day" He says, a slightly upset look on his face, due to my upcoming change being brought into the conversation.
"Edward, I've never liked the traditional Christmas meal. Too much there and, in my mind, I don't see the difference between a Sunday roast, and Christmas dinner. I'd much rather have mushroom ravioli. It is one of my favourite foods, and of recently, I've had a craving for it. I'm sure, don't worry. Please" I say, cupping his face in my hands. He gently nods, kissed my hands.
"She says she is sure Esme" He replies to Esme, even though she would have heard me. I shake my head slightly, before resting it on his chest. He picks up a book at random from his shelf. It's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of The Rings. He starts to read it to me, his velvet voice calming me down from all the excitement today has brought. He reads to me for well over an hour. When I asked his how long dinner would be, he said a couple of hours. Esme was making it from scratch. When I started to say Esme didn't have to do that, Edward told me that she was looking forward to do it and to not worry. We're read up to chapter 12, when Edward says dinner is ready. He picks me up bridal style and carries me downstairs, despite my protests.
When we reach the bottom, Edward is grinning crookedly at the blush which has by this time appeared on my face. He sets me down in the kitchen and wraps his arms around me, still grinning like a mad man. I head toward the kitchen table, and sit, taking a sip from the diet coke Esme had left out me. Edward sits next to me, and puts his arm over my shoulder. I snuggle my head into his neck, while I wait for Esme.
A Few minutes later, Esme places my dinner in front on me. I thank her profusely, before tucking in. I moan at the taste, making Edward's eyes darken, in what I assume is lust. I smile coyly at him, a very un-Bella like move, before turning my attention towards my food. I eat so fast, I'm practically inhaling the food. I never realised how hungry I was. By the time I'm finished, Edward's eyes are almost pitch black. I barely have enough time to put my dish in the sink before he is pulling me up the stairs, towards his room.
When we reach his room, he lays me on the couch, before lying on top of me. We kiss passionately, in a very heated make-out session. I don't know how long we were. I lost track of time. Since we started 'practicing' for our wedding night, Edward has been losing more boundaries quite recently. He lost several more tonight, that I'm sure of. Hours later, we are lying on the couch, me wrapped in his arms. I was re-reading 'Wuthering Heights', while Edward was playing with my hair.
"Bella, love, I have an idea. Quickly, wrap up warm and meet me downstairs in 10." He says, giving me a quick kiss. I hop up and head towards my dresser.
"Ok, but why?" I ask, confused.
"Well, my love, what do you say to visiting the meadow in the snow?"
….
Sorry again, that it's been a while since I updated. Like I said earlier, I just wasn't as into it, and you can't force writing as it then won't come out as good. Thanks for reading! twilightwritinglover1 xxx
