Ha, hey Heroes! It's chapter 10 of K.A.T.M.M.E, and OMG! It's been almost half a year since I updated this! Wow...so sorry guys! I guess I got carried away with writing chappies for S.C.B. Last time, (if you guys didn't know) I actually left you with a cliffy with no evidence at all that Amy could be dead...or is she? By the way, have you seen the new cover for K.A.T.M.M.E? Pretty awesome!

So... Let's get on with the story!

Chapter 10: Rad red returns!

"No..." Everyone gasped. Sonic's ears slowly drooped down. But afterwards, he looked up at his team.

"I know she's still out there..." Sonic breathed out. "She can't be gone..." As he was about to take to the sky, Tails called out to him.

"Sonic, why don't all of us pitch in to find her. Let's not hope that we are too late." The super blue blur nodded.

*Meanwhile...*

Silver and Shadow were helping Knuckles by placing him back into the humanoid tube.

"Well, he's back where he belongs," Silver commented. "Let's head back, then."

"Hm. Agreed." While Shadow took out his emerald, there was an awkward silence between them, until the silver hedgehog broke it with a question.

"Hey Shadow, quick question."

"Make this question you ask worth my while."

"Well...why do you find it hard to say Sonic's name? Like, you always say Faker, Metal-Faker, Anti-Faker, Mecha-Faker, and even Silver-Faker!"

From that moment on, Shadow's face fell to a growl."...Enjoy walking back, pothead! CHAOS CONTROL!" Shadow disappeared in a matter of seconds, leaving Silver totally flabbergasted.

*With the Sonic Heroes...*

"Amy! Where are you?" The Sonic Heroes called her name upon all the broken metal parts of Metal Sonic. Meanwhile, Sonic in his hyper form zoomed across to find her.

"Amy!" He scattered all the broken metal to see if he can find her, but still, no luck. After a minute or two, he found something that was related to the rosy hedgehog; her trademark crimson head band, which has been shattered in half. This gave Hyper Sonic a ray of hope that she is still alive.

After 10 minutes of search, Sonic was about to take a tiny break until he saw a pink quill hanging out of all this broken metal debris. He gasped quickly, and proceeded to scatter all the metal away. Soon, it revealed another quill, a small nose, two ears and another part of Amy's head band. Soon, it revealed her head, but she was really dull of her usual colour. Immediately, he pulled her out and held her bridal style.

"Amy?" He examined her pulse to see if she had any signs of life, but found none; but like the determined hedgehog he is, he is not going to give up.

*Meanwhile...*

Shadow teleports back to Station Square, thinking that he left Silver all alone, he snickered darkly, then he proceeded to skate towards the east of Station Square to where the rest were.

*Later On...*

Soon, Sonic told the others that he'd found Amy, and they all hurried to Tails' Lab which Knux was still unconscious. Sonic then discharged his super form into his normal form.

"Okay..." The two tailed genius thought for 10 seconds before giving out orders. "Sonic, get Amy on the table. Ayden, get the life monitor."

*10 mins later...*

Beep...Beep...Beep...Beep. "Well...she's stable...but she's unresponsive." The gang said nothing as they held their heads with sorrow. But Sonic was the worst of all.

"Can...Can I have a moment in here, alone please? Guys?" After a few seconds, Tails nodded and ushered everyone out of the lab. As the door slammed shut, Sonic walked towards her.

"I know that you're unresponsive, but I bet you can still hear me." He then took a big breath. "Man, where to start?...I-I'm so sorry...for not saving you in time. I'm supposed to be the fastest, but I was too slow to save you...and...and I never meant to hurt you by running away from you; It's just that...err...I was a bit sh-shy. There, I said it. I was shy, ok? I know that I'm a bit shy around you, cuz maybe I...err..." From that moment on, Amy began to stir, but Sonic didn't notice. "I...L..l...looooooo-vah...-"

"Wow, I never realised it was hard to say the 'L word', Sonic." He immediately stopped as he heard a weak voice. He turned around and saw Amy's weak, but humble smile. He couldn't help but bear hug her.

"Thank chaos, your alive!" Then, Sonic screeched to a halt to realise what he was doing. He quickly let go and tried to play it safe. "Err...'Sup, Amy?"

"...I wonder if that bear hug was a payback to all those years I death-hugged you."

"Hehe... Yeah...well... I hope I haven't...y'know crushed you or anything..probably wasn't the best thing to do...'cause you woke up and..." The conversation was now getting awkward, he knew where this is going.

"Oh...and, thanks for saving me."

"No problem, Amy...I wouldn't just stand there and watch you get kidnapped by Metal, Strapped up in an abandoned building by Scourge, and leave you to fight Metal Overlord, no. You're one of my best friends..." He spoke to Amy as she looked up at her blue crush. "No, you're one of my closest friends..." All of a sudden, Sonic's eyes slowly closed as he moved closer. "Maybe even closer than that..." Amy knew exactly what was gonna happen, was she ready for this? Is this exactly gonna happen? Is Sonic the Hedgehog FINALLY gonna kiss Amy Rose? "Maybe I..I...I.."

CRASH!

Just then, Shadow broke through the wall. He thought that it'll make a more badass entrance. "Have no fear! The Ultimate Life Form is...errm..".. and has met an awkward position that Sonic and Amy were about to do. "Wow...errm...bad timing, I guess." The door to the lab room flung open and Tails and the rest of the Sonic Heroes jaw-dropped at the scene.

Sonic and Amy were frozen in their positions, until Ayden broke that silence with a bad note. "Well, this is arkward...but welcome back to earth, Amy!" Blaze slapped the grey fox on the back of his head in annoyance. "OW!"

"What Ayden was trying to say: Thank Chaos, you're alive, Amy!" Tails added as the others rushed in to comfort Amy. Sonic kind of got pushed back a bit. The two tailed kitsune walked up to his big bro and said:"Don't mind Amy, she's okay... we need to wake up Knuckles...and with your help, we'll do this in 30 seconds." Sonic retrieved his cocky, determined smile.

"Heh, let's wake this Knucklehead."

*10 Seconds later..*

"Well, there he is..." Knuckles was unconscious from way back to the fight on the street. And it took a lot of time for the antidote to sink in, but Knuckles is back in his original form. Problem is...he probably doesn't know anything now. So, Sonic and Tails decided that the only thing to wake him up, is the thing that was stolen in the first place. Yes, I'm talking about the Master Emerald. "Are you sure this'll work, Sonic?"

"Ha, of course! The M.E can wake anyone up now! But not exactly everyone. Ok, it's worth a shot. Sonic held up the Master Emerald as it started to glow. Tails forcefully put Knux's gloved hand on the M.E.

'The servers are the seven chaos, chaos is power, power enriched by the heart. You are the fearless guardian of the Master Emerald..you would do anything to keep your precious jewel away from danger. You have wonderful friends, and you come from a powerful tribe of echidnas. You...are the fearless, strongest echidna ever...Knuckles the Echidna.'

All of a sudden, his pointy nose started to twitch. "R-rougher than the rest of them..." A weak voice mumbled out.

'He's waking up...' "The best of 'em...tougher than leather.." His eyelids opened half-way and half of his amethyst eyes listened. "You can...call me...Kn- Kn- Knuckles... Knuckles..." It felt like something strong hit the crimson echidna. It felt like...all the memories, all the moments, everything came back.

"Knuckles?" Sonic didn't hesitate to say his name, or to try to see he has retrieved his memory...apparently, it worked...when Sonic received a punch in his nose unexpectedly.

"UNLIKE SONIC, I DON'T CHUCKLE!"

"Knuckles!" Tails cried. The crimson echidna hopped out of bed and stood in his trademark pose.

"In the flesh!" After 30 seconds of moaning, Sonic got off from the floor, dusted himself, and stood in front of Knuckles.

"Yeah, welcome back, Knucklehead." He said in an annoyed tone, holding his bloody nose.

"Hmph, thanks my blue frienemy!" Knux grinned cockily, which ticked Sonic off more. "Speaking of friends, where's the others?"

*10 mins later...*

The gang just found out that Knuckles is back to his old, stubborn self. After the mini greeting...

"Attention, everyone!" Sonic exclaimed, as he stepped forth. He had something behind his back. "Knuckles, I know that guarding the Master Emerald is hard, and pretty tiring. And without you, the chaos emeralds will have no control. So the 'greatest' guardian ever award goes to...Knuckles!" Although they were utterly confused, they applauded him anyway. On the other hand, Knux was flabbergasted, and giddy laughed.

Sonic gave him the award, which was like an oscar, but the statue was replaced with a golden figure of Knuckles guarding a golden figure of the master emerald, the black base was still there. On the front of the black base was a golden plaque, and it says:Worst , Greatest guardian ever: Knuckles T. Echidna. Luckily, Knux didn't notice it, he was too honoured anyway. As the applauding died down, Knuckles spoke.

"Oh my chaos, I- I didn't prepare a speech." Sonic and the other boys rolled their eyes, as this might be as long as a lecture. Mobius' national anthem played in the background as he spoke. "First of all, I'd like to thank my powerful ancestors for giving me the spirit and inspiration to become the greatest guardian in history. Also, I'd like to thank my great grandma Tikal who also gave me inspiration as the first guardian ever."

*5 mins later...*

"And finally, I'd like to thank that blue spunk, batgirl, and everyone else for motivating me to never give up protecting it. This one's for the echidnas!" After Knuckles finished his speech, literally everyone fell asleep. "Are you serious...?...GET UP!" He barked as almost everyone woke up instantly, they applauded for 5 seconds until Sonic woke up.

"Huh, wha...? Nice speech, Knux."

"Hey, I hate to break up the (boring) moment here, but doesn't anyone feel like a beach party?" Ayden said, as he looked outside. "To be honest, it's been a long day..."

"And we've completed our mission..." Tails added.

"So..why not?" Sonic asked. "Let's celebrate!"

"Oh, yeah!" Everyone said as they jumped out from Tails' front door in the most heroic way possible. And still...Silver hasn't come back yet.

And...DONE! Again, sorry for leaving you guys hanging! I'm back writing now, and I will finish the second missing story by the end of this month. And In March, the new missing story will be uploaded. Btw, S.C.B will be updated soon...don't know when, but it will.
