The stone pathway was cold under Amy's bare feet. Even though she could vaguely remember wearing shoes the details of everything were a bit foggy at the moment. Where was she? This mysterious place was unnaturally silent and life of any form seemed absent. A gentle breeze ruffled Amy's black hair and urged her forwards. The silence continued until Amy turned the corner. The sight before her was unexpected and unexplained but also beautiful. A pure white carpet covered the walkway with rose petals thrown across it. The sky was clear and blue as church bells rang out somewhere in the distance. At the other end of the path was Shaggy who seemed rather surprised and nervous. Amy caught a glimpse of her reflection as she begun walking towards him. She was dressed in a long flowing wedding dress with long sleeves and diamonds on the skirt. Her hair was now pulled up in a messy bun and tucked neatly under the veil.
This was her wedding but Amy couldn't seem to recall anything that happened beforehand. When she reached the end of the aisle Shaggy gently took her hand.
"I thought you weren't coming" he whispered.
"Sorry" she replied with an apologetic smile.
"You look beautiful" he said.
"Thank you "
Sunlight poured in through the windows as Shaggy woke up. He turned his head to look at Amy and instantly he realized something was very, very wrong. He jumped out of his chair and ran to where Amy was laying asleep but pale.
"Amy" he cried shaking her with no response.
"Shaggy what's wrong?" Fred asked coming into the room.
"AMY WAKE UP!" Shaggy yelled completely ignoring Fred.
"Shaggy what's with all the yelling?" Velma asked stopping when she saw Amy.
"Someone call Beth!" Shaggy ordered before racing off to the kitchen in search of the first aid kit.
"What's going on?" Daphne asked rubbing sleep from her eyes.
"Something's wrong with Amy" Fred explained as Shaggy ran past them with the first aid kit.
"She doesn't look to good" Daphne agreed peering over Fred's shoulder.
Shaggy dropped to his knees in front of Amy with the kit unsure of what to do. He strained his ears to hear Amy's heart which was faint.
"Someone call me?" Beth asked strolling though the door.
"HELP HER" Shaggy ordered in a angry voice that sounded more like growling.
"Oh dear" Beth muttered seeing Amy's condition.
"HELP HER" Shaggy demanded.
Beth quickly transported to the hospital. Shaggy clung to Amy's hand desperately pleading with her to wake up.
"What happened to her?" Fred asked Beth.
"Callie"
"I'll rip her to shreds" Shaggy growled.
"No you won't" came an overly cheery voice as Callie appeared.
"Give me one reason why I shouldn't" Shaggy demanded.
"Awe poor Shaggy you're lost without her aren't you?" Callie teased.
"Fix her"
"I can't as of now I'm powerless"
"You evil witch" Shaggy growled.
"Amy's fine Shaggy" Callie replied.
"You call that fine?" he asked pointing to Amy.
"Why yes" Callie replied directing Shaggy to the TV.
Amy was enjoying herself greatly. Shaggy had his arms wrapped around her as they danced.
"I couldn't have asked for a better wife" Shaggy whispered.
"I couldn't have asked for a better husband" Amy replied as Shaggy spun her around.
Shaggy stared at the screen slack jawed. Amy married him in her idealistic fantasy?
"There is a catch however the more she believes this is real the worse she becomes. Soon she'll be dead" Callie laughed wickedly.
Callie left taking the image of Amy's fantasy with her bringing Shaggy back to reality.
"We can try to wake her but it'll be like ripping her out of heaven" Beth warned.
"We've got to try. I want my best friend back" Shaggy said in a determined voice.
"Well let's get started then"
Hours went by . They were shaking her, yelling at her however no matter what they tried there seemed to be no way of waking her.
"Well what should we do?" Daphne asked.
"Leave please" Shaggy asked quietly.
"Shaggy?" Fred asked.
"Please"
"Come on" Beth said pulling everyone out of the room.
Shaggy dropped next to the bed where his sickly friend was laying. He gently brushed her hair from her face. Her breaths were shallow and she was very pale. Shaggy couldn't stop the tears that poured down his face. His friend was dying and he was helpless. She was shaking from the effects of a deadly fever so Shaggy slowly climbed into the bed beside her trying to warm her up.
"Amy please come back to me I miss you " he whispered stroking her hair.
There was no response.
"I'm sorry I forgot about you but now that I've found you I don't ever want us to be apart ever again so please please if you can hear me please wake up" Shaggy begged.
Amy just continued to shake.
"Please" he said lightly kissing her
Shaggy drifted off to sleep a few minutes later still holding Amy in his arms. When Beth peeked inside the room to check on the two she was very surprised at the sight before her but closed the door anyway. Early the next day Shaggy woke up to a voice.
"Shaggy" it whispered.
He opened his eyes to see Amy's smiling face.
"I have to be dreaming" he sighed closing his eyes again.
"Shaggy you're not dreaming" Amy replied.
"Prove it"
"I know where you keep your comics"
"Oh really?"
"In a box under your bed"
Shaggy opened his eyes with a smile. Amy was back.
"When did you wake up?" He asked.
"Four in the morning"
"Uh do you remember anything specific?"
"You and I got married" Amy said embarrassed.
"How did you wake up?"
"Well I started to suspect something when I couldn't taste anything I ate. Then I heard a voice. Your voice pleading with me to wake up. I managed to shake the fantasy when you wouldn't answer my questions about what happened to Beth and Callie"
"Were you upset when you woke up?"
"At first but then I saw you and I felt better "
"I'm glad"
