Nagisa turned a smile when she heard footsteps and found Minato and Naruto walking toward her. But then blinked when she noticed that Minato wasn't wearing his Hokage outfit. When they got closer to her he let go of Naruto's hand and she smiled as she scooped him up in her arms when he ran to her. "Minato why aren't you in your Hokage outfit?"

With a smile Minato stopped in front of her as he rubbed Naruto's head. "I think it is time for the Hokage to have another day off."

"I see." Nagisa looked down at Naruto then back up at him with another odd look. "But whenever you have decided that last minute, either Kakashi or Obito are there at my apartment telling me."

With a smile as he put his arm behind her back and urged her to walk with him. "That is because this time I want you to come with me and Naruto."

"But….."

"Come on. Please."

Nagisa looked up into his dazzling blue eyes and knew that she could lose herself in them. There was just something about the way he was asking she couldn't bring herself to tell him no. "Alright. I will tag along."

"Perfect. Come on then." He then laughed as he pulled a gasp from her when he lifted her in his arms and bounded off through the woods and headed toward a special place. 'I hope she likes it.'

With one arm around his neck, and the other holding Naruto with a death grip Nagisa held her eyes closed as she waited for him to stop. Once she felt him fall from the sky to stop she cracked one eye open and gasped when she saw where they were. She didn't even know that this place existed. They were now standing in front of a beautiful and pristine lake in a meadow area with what looked like enchanted woods behind them. "Oh my."

"This is where I bring Naruto for the day whenever I take the day off to spend some one on one time with him. Do you like it?"

Nodding as she turned a smile to him she sighed. "I love it. Is there a reason why you bring him here?"

With soft eyes and a smile, Minato turned and laid out a scroll, and clapped his hand, making a small fence area in the grass with lots of toys in it. "Yes. My father used to bring me here when he would get a break in missions until I got into the academy. It was something special between my father and I, and I wanted to keep it going with Naruto. And hope he does the same thing one day."

Sitting Naruto down in the fence Nagisa laughed as he rushed straight for the toys and laughed as he started to throw them around playing with them. "Well he certainly seems to like it here doesn't he?"

"I was hoping he would." Minato then turned and walked over and sat down leaning against a tree as he pulled her with him. "Have a seat. I always let him play with his toys before we do anything."

Nervously Nagisa sat down next to him then laughed when Naruto threw a toy and it hit Minato right in the side of the head as he started to look at her. Covering her mouth at the glare that he gave his son, and the contagious laughter from the little boy Nagisa fell over on her side laughing. "I am sorry but that was just too funny."

"I am glad you think so."

Sitting up and whipping tears from her eyes, Nagisa took a few deep breaths. "Had it happened to someone else would you have laughed? Like if Sasuke did it to Fugaku?"

Dropping his head Minato sighed. "Yeah."

"So you can't say a word about me laughing."

Laughing himself, Minato shook his head. "No I guess I can't at that."

Minato smiled as he watched as Nagisa feeding Naruto. This did somehow seem right to be there with her. He figured knowing that she wouldn't try to take Kushina's place was the biggest reason. He knew it was almost time for Naruto to take his nap when they came here, and then he was going to tell her exactly how he felt about her. And hope that she doesn't turn from him and everyone else is right about how she feels about him.

"Mama!"

Looking at Nagisa and how red her face turned as she turned wide eyes to him Minato fell over on his side laughing. "Now it is my turn to laugh."

"I don't teach him that!"

"Mama!"

Turning back to Naruto as he hugged her neck Nagisa sighed. "No Naruto. Gisa . Remember?"

"Mama!"

Turning a glare back on the still hysterical Minato Nagisa couldn't help but wonder what he thought was so funny about this! "Is it really that funny? I didn't laugh at you this heard when he hit you in the head with the toy."

Trying to control his laughing Minato stood up and bent over picking up Naruto. "It isn't what he called you that I found so funny. It was your reaction to it. You reacted like someone who got caught doing something they weren't supposed to do. I know you haven't been teaching him to call you that."

"I don't know why he does either." Nagisa was standing now as she watched Minato start to bounce Naruto as he laid his head on his shoulder. Already starting to show he was tired. Her heart racing she fought the urge to cry. He really was perfect in so many ways. 'Kushina. It is a shame you can't be here to be a part of this. I love seeing it but somehow wish that I wasn't.'

Stepping into the fence, Minato smiled as Naruto let out his sigh showing he was sound asleep and kicked the toys to the side and laid him down on his mat. He then turned and walked back to Nagisa. "He always takes a nap about this time of day when we are here. Usually he just lays on me and I take one with him. But that would be rude don't you think?"

"Minato I love being here. I love being a part of this. But I don't think I should come next time."

"Why not?"

Dropping her head to hide the hurt and pain in her eyes she sighed. "This is something you do with him as a father son. I feel like a third wheel being here. It feels like we are a…."

"Family."

Nodding as she turned her back to him she let out a shaky sigh. "Exactly. And I feel like I am imposing on something I shouldn't be a part of."

Walking up to stand behind her, yet not touching her yet, Minato sighed. "Nagisa you may not be blood related to Naruto or myself. But you are family none the less."

"You know what I meant Minato." Then she choked back a sob as she covered her mouth. She loved this man so much. "I feel like I am stepping on Kushina's toes and her memory being here with you like this. I…" but she just couldn't finish it. She didn't know how to finish it. How did she tell him that she loved him but didn't want to be with him at the same time?

"You what Nagisa?"

"Never mind. It doesn't matter."

"Tell me."

"It doesn't matter. Please just forget I said anything."

Turning her around to face him, he forced her crying eyes to look up into his. "Tell me Nagisa. You feel that way because you what?"

"Don't make me say it Minato. Please I don't want anything to change between us. Please."

"Why would it change?"

"It would I know it would."

His eyes becoming more focused he pulled her into his arms while making her look up at him still. "Tell me why you feel that way Nagisa."

Tears streaming down her face, Nagisa half closed her eyes as she looked up at him. "Fine. Because I am so in love with you that I can't stand it. And being here seeing you with Naruto hurts more ways then one. One because I can't have you. Two because other than his babysitter I am not much more than someone who cares about him. And two I feel like Kushina would not be happy with me being here with you and Naruto like this and….."

Then she stopped and gasped as her whole body tensed when Minato dropped his mouth down to kiss hers. Her eyes slowly drifted shut as she melted into his arms. Her hands gripping the front of his clothes as she clung to him. After a moment when he pulled his mouth from hers she opened her dazed eyes and looked up at him. "Why did you just do that?"

"Because you aren't the only one who loves someone else here. I have been fighting it over the last three years. Seeing you with Naruto. Getting to know you. I couldn't help but fall in love with you Nagisa."

Dropping her head as she still clung to his clothes, Nagisa started shaking violently. "But what about Kushina? What do you think she would think about this?"

Hugging her fully to him he smiled. "Kushina made me promise her just before she took her last breath as she held Naruto in her arms that I wouldn't live my life on her memories alone. That I would find someone to love and be happy with them. I see no one better suited for the job than you Nagisa. Of all the women of the village, you treat Naruto like he is your son already. And I know you would never let his mother's memory fade and help me in making sure he knows exactly who she was."

"You are sure this is what you want?" Burying her face in his chest she let out a sob. "If you are only doing this to keep the promise to her, and not because you really love then just stop now and tell me. I know I wouldn't be able to handle it if it turned out not to be true."

Turning her face up to his, and his own few tears Minato smiled down into her amethyst eyes. "It is alright Nagisa. This is for real. I would never make you think I felt something for you that I didn't feel and you know that. Tell me that you will spend the rest of our lives with me and Naruto. Please?"

Smiling as she stood on her tip toes, sliding her hands up around his neck Nagisa laughed. "I will. You, me and Naruto will forever be together." Then she kissed him on his lips.

After a moment Minato broke the kiss and smiled as he kept his forehead on hers. "And perhaps Naruto will have a little brother or sister one day?"

Laughing she nodded her head. "I think we can manage that. After we are married."

"Of course."

Kushina smiled as she watched the couple embrace, and talk about how things were going to be different. She was going to move in with him, start planning the wedding, and even having a baby at some point. It really did seem as though Minato has finally braced what it meant to finally move on and stop dwelling on her memories.

Walking over and looking down at the baby sleeping on the mat she let silent tears fall from her eyes. She was able to come back to convince Minato to move on. And now that he has, she had to go back. Her soul couldn't stay there any longer. Reaching down and rubbing his cheek and then putting her finger in his little hand she smiled when he closed around it. "You are perfect my son. Nagisa will be a good Mama to you. And when the time comes, and it is time for you to conquer the fox inside of you, I will get to see the man that my little boy grows into. I love you Naruto. I can't wait to see you again."
