Chapter 10 - Planning Tomorrow
Lee was so frustrated that he was still in for one more day of his physical. This case was more important than worrying about some dumb tests. Amanda had gone home to her family leaving Lee to rest in his hospital bed. After she left, he made a list to sort things out.
1. Eat Dinner
2. Brush Teeth
3. Take a Shower
4. Solve the Case
He had accomplished everything but #4 and he felt trapped that he was stuck in the hospital. He picked up the phone and called Amanda's house and hoped she would pick up the phone. He was relieved when she did.
"I think you should use the agency computers and see what you can find on Nurse Chapman."
"Do you ever say hello? Ever?"
"Amanda! I don't have time for that."
"Really, what are you doing that is keeping you so busy?"
Lee sighed "Okay, fine. Hello, can you spend some time tomorrow checking it out for me while I do my final test?"
"Yes, I will go there as soon as I get the boys on the bus. Don't forget to talk to the Doctor about all the lists you are writing."
Lee looked at his list and realized he needed to add that to it. "Thanks Amanda, I will definitely bring it up. Good night"
"Good night Lee. Good luck tomorrow."
After Lee hung up, Amanda sat thinking about Nurse Chapman. She had never been a very pleasant person but she didn't think she was a murderer either. She wondered how she lost her watch. It seemed so strange that it was stuck in the heater. Well nothing was going to be solved tonight so Amanda decided to go to bed. Her Mother had gone up earlier after the boys had been tucked in. Amanda had stayed downstairs to bake some cookies for the boys to take to a school bake sale in the morning. She locked up and made her way up to her bedroom still trying to figure out the significance of the watch and who the curly haired man was.
