Um. So, it's been..ehemm..a while, one could say. A very long while. Like a very, VERY long while. So yeah. I do have pretty good excuses that I am going to tell you and you are going to carelessly not care about anyway, though! For one, little ol' me stepped out of the country for a couple of weeks to visit family and go on a vacation. Fun, fun. Aside from the fact that I missed America to the point of not being able to go on. Yes, when you're away from your home you get homesick and, yes, when you get homesick you try anything to feel like you're home again. And let's just say shamelessly screaming the national anthem at the top of my lungs was a thing that had to be done, never mind the worried glances. But I am back, after camps and cleaning sprees and well deserved sleep and I'm ready to roll. Mind you I still have to clean my room. But alas, dear ones, the next chapter is here. Feel free to send me minor death threats if I fail to publish a new chapter within the month. (No people. Don't really send me death threats. Only kind ones.)

Disclaimer: Nopedy Nope. Nope. Still not mine. Ah poopy.

(PLEASE READ) OH.. And I have a little steamy portion in an upcoming chapter.. like a lemon but not graphic AT ALL so not completely one, and I don't know if you guys want this included. I know I may have some younger readers so I was just warning. I'm probably going to change the rating to mature. But, I can either include it in the next chapter or so, or post it as a very short oneshot. Give me your thoughts!

Okay, now onto the story.

Tris's POV

"Did you tell him?" Christina mutters as I silently munch on a muffin in the Dining Hall. I shake my head slowly and sigh, giving up on seeing Tobias before training. When I had woken up, he had already left to the control room with not even a note to tell me where he had gone.

"No. I didn't."
"Why not? Tris, you can't just not tell - ,"

"I know Chris, I know. Just -," I groan, startling Theo, and pinch the bridge of my nose. The nausea had been relentless lately and I had spent the morning praying to the porcelain gods. "Just don't tell anyone okay?" I plead stressing out the anyone part to a wide eyed Christina. I swear, I love this girl but she can't keep a secret even if her life depended on it. Candors.

"Not even Will?"

"No, not Will, not Marlene, not Hector, heck don't even tell it to the trees okay? Nobody."

Christina sighs as we get up from the table and start to head to the training room.

"Fine."

Tobias had barely looked at me today, only talking to me when he was instructing or holding Theo. My stomach rolls at the thought of him being mad at me and I practically leap off the couch, dropping my book to the floor, and make a mad dash to the bathroom. I am startled when a hand grabs the hair from around my face and gathers it into a pony tail, comforting nothings coming from Tobias's mouth. My body convulses one last time before I stand, or try to stand, Tobias's hand steadying me before the sink. I close my eyes as my head spins and I lean even further on him, his muscles digging into my back.

"This is getting really old, really fast," I mumble as I open my eyes. I look into the mirror to find Tobias's worried gaze reflected back at me, his dark eyes piercing mine. I do a double take when I see my face – pale and worn – looking back at me. Tobias sighs as he moves the hair from my neck and buries his face there – the cool skin feeling like heaven against my burning skin.

"Maybe we shouldn't go to capture the flag tonight," his lips move against my neck, the words coming out muffled. "Christina and Uriah would be fine - ,"

"No," I say firmly, walking into the bedroom and falling onto the bed. "No, we have to go." I turn to face Tobias, smiling, as he sinks down next to me and pulls me to him. "It's tradition," I add softly. Tobias pauses before taking my face in his hands. As he searches my face, my eyes, I don't see the anger or weariness I am expecting to find. I just see him.

"Okay," he whispers gently, planting a kiss to my forehead. He pulls me closer and I curl into his chest. "After all," he mumbles. "It is tradition."

"Everyone up!" Tobias roars to the dark room of sleeping initiates as Uriah goes around flicking the lights on. I see Devina fly up in her bunk and nearly smack her head on the board. Christina and I both stifle a laugh but Jordyn, on the other hand, has other plans. As she walks past Devina's bed she mutters something along the lines of "Not looking so Dauntless now are we? Bet you can't sit with the cool kids anymore" and I can't help but applaud the originality of her insult. I mean, wow, bravo Jordyn. Bravo. Please do note the sarcasm. I look over at Tobias in question and he scowls, walking over to me.

"What's up her ass?" I ask, looking at a fully naked Jordyn clad only in a bra and some underwear, obviously enjoying her time in the spotlight.

"She's just mad Zeke invited Devina to sit with us. That and the fact that your son has an eye for good women." Uriah interjects as I snort.

"Wonderful. Theo's already hittin' it with the ladies." Christina mumbles.

"My boy." I look at Tobias and he grins sheepishly at me, a twinkle in his eyes. I smile. Now was one of those moments in Dauntless, one of those carefree captures of time in the compound where nothing really mattered. Not the tensions with the factions, not my unexpected surprise, not Eric and his sadistic ways – no, nothing. This was what the Dauntless lived for, the freedom of now. Today.

"What's going on?" Claire grumbled as she slipped out of her bunk.

"Suit up and meet us at the track in five minutes. If you're late, you're not coming." Tobias grabs my hand before giving me a fleeting smile and pulls me out the door.

We wait by the trains and watch in content as the initiates round up, eyeing the stack of paintball guns with worry.

"Paintballs?" I hear a mutter, and I chuckle, thinking about my first time.

"Everyone grab a gun and load up!" Uriah yells with a cheshire grin. "Train should be coming soon."
I smile as I bend down to grab a gun, my stomach flipping as I do so. I feel Tobias's gaze on my back and roll my eyes as I straighten back up, taking the paintballs Tobias held out to me in his hands. A breath tickles my ear and I shudder as Tobias's lips graze over my ear, right where his knife nicked me two years ago.

"Get ready to jump, love." He is the first on the train, the muscles on his forearm taunt and defines as he pulls himself up. Christina, Uriah, and I fall in line with the moving cars – the initiates close behind us. Tobias holds out his hand and I gladly take it, my stomach flipping as I do – and not in the way I had grown used to over the last couple of weeks – but in the way it normally did when he looked into my eyes. I stumble a little as I climb in the car and somehow end up in Tobias's arms, knocking us both of balance and onto the nearest wall. He chuckles as he straightens us up, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

"Graceful." he murmurs and I thump his chest, grinning slightly because I know a certain Erudite is watching. He catches my hand in his and slowly kisses each finger, his lips lingering on the ring that sealed me to him forever. I hear a snort as I blush and both Tobias and I look up to see Jordyn rolling her eyes. Tobias sighs as he pulls me into him, muttering about how Jordyn needed a good round of paintballs aimed at her.

"Okay, gather round young ins, and listen up." Uriah starts, clapping his hands together. "We'll be splitting into teams of two to play capture the flag. You'll all be mixed up, Dauntless Born and transfers, either with Christina and me, or Four and Tris."

"One team will get off first to hide their flag, then the second team will do the same." Four speaks up, straightening his body as I pull slightly away from him. "This is a Dauntless tradition," he says, his eyes catching mine as he says the word 'tradition,' so I suggest you take it seriously."

"So, Four, you wanna pick first or shall we?" Chris asks boldly, crossing her arms over her chest, barely swaying from the movement of the train.

"Nah. You go first. That way I can say I was at least nice to you when we win."
Uriah shrugs. "James." A big, muscular kid from Erudite stalks over to Uriah.

"Devina," I say, and I can see the shocked expression on her face.

"Pete."

"Amy."
"Cristoph."
"Anna."

"Aiden."
"Al," Tobias calls and I smirk. He was using the same tactic he had used with me – small but fast.

By the time we are done, the first stop is approaching quickly. Uriah practically pushes our team off the train yelling, "See you on the other side!" and I feel like puking as I lie in the grass trying to regain my balance.

"C'mere Sleeping Beauty," Tobias mutters as he pulls me up off the ground. I glare at the nickname he has seemed to take a liking to and quickly assess our surroundings. As broad as daylight, I see the Ferris Wheel looming to our right and I see Tobias give me a nervous smile out of the corner of my eyes. Just like last time, chatter commences as soon as we start talking strategy and I am surprised when Devina takes the lead, her shy demeanor slowly but surely wearing away. Slightly. I smile as I feel myself drifting towards the Ferris Wheel, Tobias looking paler that usual.

"You know, Uriah's going to know that we're gonna scale the Ferris Wheel. And Christina. It won't help any - ,"

"Come on, Hotshot. You scared?"

Tobias's POV

Of course I'm fucking scared.

Tris's POV

I smile at him as I tease him, grabbing the first rung and allowing the night air to blow into my face.

"You wish, Sleeping Beauty."

Step after step after step after frickity fracken step I feel myself losing the worry and the stress I had been feeling these past weeks. I hear him breathing deeply behind me, loud and fast, and the sound is almost comforting – familiar.

"You good?" I ask him, grinning slightly as he glares at me.

"Screw tradition," he says in a strangled voice, concentrating hard on climbing. "This is some scary shit." I chuckle and slip slightly, my heart pounding wildly as Tobias's hand catches me. My smile returns when I hear him curse beneath me, telling me he was to young for me to keep giving him premature heart attacks.

"For God's sake, Tris." he breathes as we keep climbing. I smile as we reach the spot I had become accustomed to sitting at. As if by routine, I swing my legs over the side, giggling as Tobias remains as far from the edge as possible, fingers grabbing the rungs so tightly his knuckles turn white. My smile fades as I think about Theo, about the baby that Tobias has no clue about. Tobias eases himself next to me and slowly puts his legs over the edge, grabbing onto me tightly and pulling me in close like a lifeline.

"You scare the hell out of me sometimes, you know that?"

I sigh and put my face in his chest, blocking it from the harsh wind. I sniffle.

"Tris?" Tobias asks, his breath short. "Love, tell me. Please." I look up and see his eyes pleading, digging for answers.

"Uh – well. I – I." He grabs my hands and it is only then that I realized they are shaking.

"I love you, Tris. You know that right?" I nod fiercely as I watch his mouth from a frown. "Then tell me what's wrong."

I look down, down to the pavement that seems miles beneath us. I take a deep breath.

"Tobias, I''m p – There!" I yell pointing to the glowing flag in the distance. "Tobias, do you -,"

"Yeah, I see it. Come on, I'll wet my pants soon enough."

I smile nervously as we make our way down, silently hoping that he would forget about our conversation for the moment. His long fingers encircle my waist as we reach the ground and soon enough my feet are planted firmly on the ground, Tobias breathing a sigh of relief next to me. I see the initiates heading our way and start to make my way towards them when a strong hand grabs my wrist. I turn to see Tobias staring at me intently, waiting for an answer.

"Tell me."

I look out and see the initiates closer than before and glance back at him.

"Later," I whine, trying to pull away from him. His grip only tightens as he pulls me closer and I close my eyes taking in a few deep breaths. Oh God. Oh God. My eyes flash open. It's now or never, Tris. I gulp.

"Tobias, I-I'm I'm pregnant."

Tobias's POV

Holy shit.

Woo! So I was planning to make this chapter longer but thought this would be a good cliff hanger. And, as a present to you guys for taking so long to update, I am writing these short stories with Tobias and Theo that I will post either tomorrow or the day after. I am not going to tell the title or the premise until I post just to keep you on your toes. It will coincide with My Little Soldier, so just be on the lookout for it. Thanks for reading and please review my friends! Now excuse me while I go watch Harry Potter.
