Alastia sat in a cell at Port Royal, awaiting her death by hang. Everything just piled upon her lap and before she knew it she had everything she wanted, for the most part.
She may had done some deeds she wasn't exactly proud of, but she got what she wanted, and the information she wanted too.
Her remaining crew was awaiting in cells, being the Captain dead, she was now Captain of the Deadly Dubloon and its crew.
"A fine way to get promoted... Bloody hell..." She cursed to herself. Alastia stood up and grabbed on to the bar doors of her confinement. Looking around, she notices that there are no guards at the moment, and that her cell is a long distance from the cell of her crew.
"They separated me from the rest... why?" She questioned, but at least enjoyed the thought of having privacy and quiet. She ran her fingers through her hair, her soft, long, and full hair, as she went into thought. The bandana she was wearing had been lost during the arresting. Her jacket, and belt, which had her pistol and sword, had been taken by the guards. Taking her belt was reasonable, but her jacket was just so that she would be left with her cotton red shirt and those disgusting pigs would have some eye candy to look at. She turned her head to the exit from this dungeon, a wooden table placed next to it with her jacket and belt left on top. Unfortunately, her gun and sword have disappeared.
Even if I do escape, I'll be running around unarmed in this building loaded with guards. There's no point in freeing the others because they are just as unarmed as me.
Alastia bet it all in luck as she revealed a hairpin she keeps hidden in her hair for situations just like these. Bending the hairpin in the correct way, she unlocked her cell door, sliding it open and retrieving her stuff from the table. She put on her things instead of holding onto them, thinking she moves more faster and comfortable that way.
She went up the stairs to the ground level, peeking every corner to make sure it's clear. She comes up to a lobby with a few soldiers dawdling around, with no choice but to wait and watch from a distance.
A member of her crew spots her, and whispers out to her. It was her old cabins cabin boy. Alastia guessed he was hers now.
"Captain!"
Alastia made a motion to silence him, and he silenced immediately.
"Can't break you all out now, be ready at nightfall to escape. Tell the crew."
The young boy nodded then his eyes went wide. "Captain!"
"Excuse me, ma'am" a gentle man's voice rings in Alastia's head, with a hand patting her shoulder. She gives a sudden gasp and turns around in reaction, grabbing the man by his mouth and slamming him into the wall with a loud thud.
"What the heck was that?"
Damn
Alastia hears the guards question and can already tell they're coming over to check things out. Her cover was about to be blown and she decides to make a break for it before it happens. The guards quickly catch a glimpse of her running back and give chase. Alastia took different turns, corridors after corridors with split paths at every end. Guards that cross her path automatically begin to chase her as the angry mob behind her grows. With her swiftness, she gains a distant lead ahead of them and takes another turn. She looks back for a moment, and rams into someone who had just left a room next to them. The man, holding onto his head in pain and bafflement gets grabbed by Alastia and shoved into the room. She shuts the door and pushes the man up against a wall.
"Listen here, I'm going to hide here and you didn't see me! Or else I swear I'll cut you to pieces when I-"
"Oi, my bloody head..." The man said, dizzied out of his mind and vision blurred. Alastia looks at him with a raised eyebrow, but gives him a closer look at his face.
"J...Jack? Jack!?" She says, astounded at first, but rather angry the next time.
"It's my name, don't wear it out." He says in a slur voice.
"Jack!? And here of all places, you filthy bulge rat, run away traitor, dirty cruel... JACK!" she angrily yells, shaking him up as he had fallen asleep half way through.
"Uh... How many times wash that? 7? I lost count..." He said with a hiccup.
"... Dressed up in a damn reddy's suit, how could you..." She let's him go as painful sadness overcomes her. He pats himself down, catching his balance and looks at her.
"Alas..tia? I remember you! You were at the...the thing... the fancy ass party that took place here... a few days ago? Mh something like that, it was boring anyway..." Jack rambled on. Alastia wanted to smack the stupid out of Jack so hard, but was halted when she heard a group of footsteps running down the hall.
"Jack, listen to me, you DIDN'T see me. Okay!?"
"Mhm" he shakes his head with exaggeration she hides behind the big wooden desk on the other side of the room. The room door flings open.
"I didn't see her!" Jack spouts out as he quickly turns around. The two guards look at him funny.
"Sparrow, drinking on the job again?"
" No...not t'day." He gives a cheeky smile.
"Ugh. We have an escapee running around, so stop being an idiot and keep this room locked."
"I am the captain around these parts and I should be the one to be the giving orders."
"Too irresponsible to even pull rank!" The man angrily says.
"But I'm still a captain. Promoted by Beckett himself!" Jack blurts out. The man gives up and shuts the door.
"... I hate my job. You can come out now." Jack says. Alastia gets up from under the table, surprised at Jacks last comment.
"Were you pretending to be an idiot, or is that that the normal you?"
"You decide. Why are you here?"
"Looking for you. Heard word y'might be here."
"Well you have and it seems," Jack walked away checking the hallway for any onlookers or eavesdroppers before closing the door again. "you are quite in the pickled jar, my illegal friend."
"...why, did you leave Jack? You left us. Yer fatha, Bithin, Creed, and me. You left us all."
"...I don't have to answer to you, Alastia. I have mind of my own."
Alastia was hurt. Before he could react, Alastia slapped him, hard.
Jack looked unfazed. "I knew that was coming."
"...However you will be hanged for your actions of pirating...You do understand Alastia? If I choose to save you, do you realize the fact that the majority of your crew will be hanged...only a few will survive." Jack said looking away form Alastia, hands behind his back.
"Not if I can help it." Alastia said adamant, as she gazed longingly at Jack. He had truly changed. He was disciplined, analytical...proper. Only thing that may have remained of the old Jack was maybe his act of humor, but even then it was sparse in this cold Captain's office.
"...If you wanted, would you kill me? Collect the bounty on my head? Five-hundred guineas? Would you kill me now?"
"I may admit your deeds have earned your price, but, no I would not."
"Then help meh Jack, me and my crew."
"To let your entire crew go free willingly , whilst my duty is in action? It will be my head and rank. No, I could not."
"You're an absolute arse Jack."
"To each his own, however, darling," Jack, in spite of what he had become, flashed Alastia a devilish smile, "if someone were to force me, to threaten my life to free them, to make an outlandish claim of promise, or show a struggle of fight, one may get away with an entire crew."
Alastia smiled. She knew what Jack was hinting at.
"Of course, one couldn't perform a decampment, to leave unceremoniously, or err, secretly," Jack tried to define the word that Alastia had no clue even existed, "in broad light, one could fair far better in the shadows of night, when many a men go to sleep. Unfortunately I will be on duty, with sleepy and tired eyes. Now leave this office, and get caught again, only to inform your crew of you escape...tonight. Try not to get killed on your way out."
Alastia smiled before exiting the room, clatters and yelling men sounding not too soon after.
