So I'm starting this now, but I probably won't finish it until later, you know? I'm going to the movies in a couple of minutes to see Despicable Me 2, and last light I timed myself on that last chapter I did: Four hours.
Disclaimer: I'd buy the rights to Naruto, but I spent most of my money on other stuff yesterday, and the rest of it's going to a car! Boom!
I stopped advancing towards him and looked up to meet his eyes. "There was a time that I loved you, Sasori," I told him. "And now, because I loved you, I'm prepared…"
I broke off, looking away for a minute, planning to back away, but I grit my teeth and faced him again.
"I'm ready to kill you."
I heard Chiyo gasp, and knew that both of the females were watching me in shock.
"So, give me everything you've got, Sasori!" I shouted. "Break! Ruin The Pieces That Get in My Way!"
I tapped the ground twice with my foot before thrusting my hand through the air. Two metal rods shot through the air and dug into Hiruko's shell.
Sasori moved Hiruko's tail to slice the rods in two as close to the shell as he could.
I grit my teeth, aggravated that none of my spells so far have had any effect.
Sasori growled, removing Hiruko's mask. The mouth opened, and a bunch of senbons shot out. Directed at me.
I froze for a moment. "Chastity!" Chiyo warned.
I blinked. "Got it!" I responded. "Protection! Your Attack cannot Reach Me."
A shield formed around me, forcing the senbon to bounce off and land on the ground. Sasori soon ran out of senbon, so Hiruko's mouth hung open, doing nothing.
He stood still for a minute, probably thinking. "Born through pain, fall to this world, needles," I commanded. "Pounding pain, proof that we're living, pour quickly like rain!"
Needles shot through the air and rained from the sky, piercing Hiruko's shell wherever Sasori couldn't block of dodge them.
"Blaze! Destructive Power: Temperature One Thousand!"
The needles burst into flame, but they were quickly extinguished. "Is that all you've got?' Sasori demanded, shooting off the mechanism from his left arm. It shot across the ground, and stopped in between me and the other two. "Now die!" Sasori commanded.
The mechanism shot into the air and began spinning, shooting out metal rods, which split open as they shot out in all directions and released more senbons.
I glared, dodging them, and made my way to Sasori. Jumping up to dodgemore weapons, I flipped over and landed on Hiruko's back. I looked over to Chiyo and Sakura, and saw that they were dodging all the senbon as well.
I grabbed Hiruko's tail. "Restriction. Restrain the target's freedom by binding them cup tight!"
Sasori's tail became bound in place, my hands sealed to it and my feet bound to the shell on Hiruko's back. "Sakura!" I shouted, looking back at the pinkette. She nodded.
Sakura began running at Sasori head on. "Now, Sakura! Now!" Chiyo cried. "Strike it down!"
"Right!" Sakura replied, glaring at Sasori. She pulled her fist back, and I could see the chakra forming around her fist. "Watch out, Chastity!" she warned.
"Don't worry about me! Just do it!" I shouted, tightening my grip on Hiruko's tail.
Sakura nodded, jumping into the air. As she came down, I jumped off of Hiruko's back, pulling his tail with me, and Sakura let her fist fly, completely shattering Hiruko.
As soon as I saw the shattered remains of the puppet, I jumped away, making my way to Chiyo, checking her for any scratched.
"I'm fine, I'm fine," Chiyo said, rolling her eyes. "Keep your attention of the battle. It's not over yet."
"You're focusing on the battle right now," I replied, smirking. "Aren't you controlling Sakura's movement? That's how she dodged all of Sasori's attacks. Now hush up and let me make sure you're alright."
Chiyo noticed something moving, and chuckled. "Heh, so you've finally come out, eh, Sasori?" she asked.
Sakura gasped. "Is that his real body?" she asked.
"Come now," Chiyo prodded. "Let me get a good look at you. I've come all this way to see you. I've waited twenty years. I want to see my grandson's face!"
I heard the clacking of a puppet moving, and Sakura gasped. "It can still move?"
I turned around, facing the scene before us. Hiruko's head was jumping up and down, its mouth clanking. It shot up into the air, spun around and again shot more senbons at Sakura.
Chiyo grunted, pulling the girl out of harm's way. Hiruko's head crashed to the ground, breaking in two.
"Well played," Sasori said, his voice not as deep as it was when he was in Hiruko. "I should've expected no less from my own granny. No wonder even a kid like that could dodge my attacks so easily. You can foresee my attacks, old woman. Then you control the girl with chakra threads using your puppet master jutsu."
Sakura inclined her head and grit her teeth. "He figured it out too, huh?" I muttered, shaking my head.
"Oh, by the way," Sasori added as if it was an afterthought. "Good thinking attaching chakra threads to Hiruko's tail, too. Silly me. I only noticed when the tail was brought to an abrupt halt. You did it when you threw those kunai, didn't you? The thread stuck to the tail when the kunai were deflected."
"Good," Chiyo congratulated. "Even though I used the tiniest bit of chakra to keep the strings undetectable, you still figured it out."
"But of course," Sasori replied, raising his hand to his hood. "Remember who taught me how to play with puppets, who drilled the talent into me? It was you."
"Indeed," Chiyo replied, looking to the ground remorsefully. "But unfortunately, playtime is over!"
"You don't say," Sasori said, pulling off his hood. "You don't know how right you are."
He pulled his hood off all the way, exposing his shaggy red hair.
Chiyo and I gasped, recoiling, while Sakura did a double take. "Sasori…?" I whispered.
"So," Sasori chuckled. "Do you still think this will be easy, Granny Chiyo?"
"Lady Chiyo?" Sakura asked, turning back to face us. Chiyo was frozen, and I had to close my eyes. I couldn't look.
"Is that person there the real Sasori?" Sakura asked.
"I don't understand," Chiyo whispered in shock.
"Gramma?" I whispered. "Why…? Why does he look exactly the same?"
"You haven't aged!" Chiyo exclaimed, staring at Sasori.
"Gramma, get Sakura over here!" I cried, covering my eyes.
"Right," Chiyo replied, and I heard as Sakura was pulled over to us.
I opened my eyes, turning to face Sakura. "He looks exactly the same…" I whispered, feeling the tears prick at my eyes.
"It's okay," Sakura smiled. "There has to be some sort of explanation."
"I don't know if I can actually fight him now," I told her.
"But you were prepared to kill him before," Sakura responded, looking at me incredulously.
I looked back to Sasori, scanning his face that remained unchanged. His red hair was messier, but his face was exactly the same, from his brown eyes to his all-around relaxed expression.
I made the mistake of meeting his eyes, and I shook my head, forcing myself to turn back to Sakura. "That was before I saw his face," I told her.
"Don't worry," Sakura smiled. "We'll fight him together, okay?"
I took a deep breath before nodding. "I'll do it," I told her, smiling. "I can do it," I whispered, more to myself than her.
"I can do it," I repeated.
I hope.
Well, there's the end of another chapter. It's kind of short. I guess I just didn't get into it yet. I'll try starting the next chapter now. Hope you enjoyed it!
