Hello once again guys. Man it is getting harder and harder to write these. Sorry if people wanted Lindsey in this chapter. I have been meaning to of more with her but haven't gotten around to it.
I do not own RWBY. RWBY is owned by Rooster Teeth and Monty Oum. I do, however, own Team BLST and all other OC's in this story unless i specifically say so.
Enjoy or else. (JK)
Ben sighed as yet another door was slammed in his face. It seemed people didn't take kindly to being awakened at this time of night. The shops were all closed so that limited the options even more.
He sat down on the curb and held the metallic knife to look at it.
"Silver, where are you." A droplet of red fell suddenly onto the blade of the small weapon. Ben felt at his left eye then checked his fingertips. Sure enough blood was coming from his eye. Ben's heart skipped a beat at this realization.
"That can't be good. I need to calm down and take it easy." The wind blew once more but this time brought small wisps of rain along with it. The weather was getting worse and worse right before Ben's eyes. Something on the ground caught Ben's eye.
...
"I saw her out there a couple hours ago. She looked fine so I didn't really pay much attention to her." Thane gritted his teeth at the lack of information he had but received.
"But my store is just next door. It should have security footage from then." The woman brought him through a door to the next building over. She sat down in a chair in the back room and turned the security hologram from out front on.
It showed an empty street for a moment then Silver entered into view. She stopped and bent down to look at something on the ground for a second before quickly looking up. She stood back up and was talking to somebody just out of the hologram's range. She suddenly reacted to something and withdrew Twinfold as 2 armed figured charged her form the front. The hologram didn't really show any distinguishing features so he wasn't sure who they could be. The two unidentified people fought with silver but seemed unable to best her. Suddenly a different figure jumped from one of the roofs above and landed behind her. This figure grabbed the back of Silver's throat and hit her in the head with a club and she suddenly went limp and fell to the ground.
Thane had watched the hologram in horror. His sister was attacked by a group of thugs and he wasn't even there to protect her.
"Was that all?" Thane voice cracked for a second before striating back out. The woman fast forwarded for a minute before saying "Yes that's all."
Thank you, you have no idea how much you helped us." Thane said before striding back to the door. He heard a "Good luck" From the other room before he shut the door behind him and went back into the cold.
"She really had no idea." Thane thought remembering back to the hologram. He jogged over to the other side of the road and picked up a piece of paper. The rain had made it almost unread able but Thane managed to make some of the letters '1**86' and 'B*ook*r'
"If only I had found this sooner." Thane looked up the road and then back down.
"wha…? Where'd Ranright go?"
...
Ben stumbled down the side walk in a half daze.
"What am I doing?" Ben thought as he grabbed yet another street lamp to regain his balance. "I should have gone to tell Thane about the address… Well I guess there is no going back now." Ben said as he wiped the rain out of his eyes and looked up at the number on a nearby sign.
"17486 Brooker Street. A warehouse complex, that's just great.
He shook his head and tried to focus himself as he walked slowly over to the wall about 100 feet down from the main gate. The wall was about 11 feet tall with razor wire on the top so Ben second guessed trying to jump it. He shook his head and said to himself "Come on Benjamin. We got this. We're not going to lose someone else."
The blond backed up 5 steps then ran at the wall and used all the strength of his legs and his fluctuating aura together. The razor wire slightly scratched his right shoulder but the rest of his body made it over without incident.
...
Silver brushed past the branches of the trees, making her way further deeper into the woods. She had to outrun the people who kidnaped her. One of them probably couldn't chase her anymore due to the blade that had embedded itself in his leg. But the trouble was the other one. He had merely been knocked to the side and was no doubt following her. She turned around to look and to her relief there was no one. She turned around just in time to see a large grey wall smash into her body. Silver gritted her teeth as her skull throbbed.
"Arrgh" She let out as he looked up at wall that had refused to remove itself from her path. It was tall. Really tall. On top of that it had razor wire on it.
"I doubt I can make that jump. But maybe…" She bent down next to the bottom of the wall and took out one of her knives. Carefully Silver unscrewed the trigger button and withdrew the charge inside. She set it down next to the wall then quickly checked behind her again. "Nobody"
Silver took out another wooden knife and did the same, unscrewing the trigger and setting the charge next to the wall. "One more charge would probably do it" The redhead thought as she pulled out her last bomb knife. She took the trigger off and started to with draw the charge when a large arc of blue energy hit the ground next to her and exploded. The charges (which are about as stable as C4) Scattered across the mudded ground as Silver did an unintentional side flip but still managed to land on her feet.
A medium height figure approached from the darkness of the woods. The 1st thing she noticed was his extremely large smile. His face almost seemed like a mask because, besides his eyes moving, nothing about his face changed. Just one continuous expression of insane happiness. He wore a long purple jacket and a matching pair of faded aqua colored jeans. His hair was light brown and looked like it had been shaved recently.
The boy laughed as he drew his hand back and sent another bolt of electricity at his opponent. Silver dodged and flung one of her silver knives at him. The boy barreled rolled to the side and jumped up in the air. He reached the arch of his jump then suddenly came down with a ton of force right next to Silver.
She was knocked off her feet and any air she had in her lungs quickly left as she slammed into the ground. She tried to wipe the mud out of her eyes and looked up at her brown haired attacker.
He knelt down next to her and his smile slightly faded.
"Well… that was almost fun" He said as he looked down into her eyes.
"You know what. You're too pretty to kill just yet." He said as he grabbed her by the back of her armor. He was a lot stronger then he looked. He stood her up and pushed her away from the wall.
"Go on. Let's see how long it takes for me to kill you." Silver realized she was being toyed with by this psychotic… whatever he was. Everything about him was very unsettling.
Silver knew this was exactly what he wanted but she took off back in the direction of the building she had originally come from.
...
Ben landed on the steel roof of one of the warehouses that, if it wasn't so windy and raining, it might have gotten the attention of everyone in the warehouse complex.
He groaned and stood back up. This was just one of at least 40 other warehouses in the complex. Each warehouse was independent of the others and had a road for trucks to pass though in between them. The blond wiped the rain out of his hair and eyes before jumping off the warehouse and sticking the landing (for once in a great while).
The area seemed empty save one van. Ben approached the van and looked inside. It didn't look like anyone was inside, but just to make sure Ben opened up the trunk. The trunk was empty. Then a sound came from behind him that made the hair on the back of his neck stand up.
He wiped around expecting to have a fight on his hands but only found a wounded man a black outfit. He must have been lying there for a little bit at least because blood from his leg had begun to pool around it. He held out his hand in front of the man's face.
"He's still alive. The wound doesn't seem to be life threatening." A knife lay a couple feet away from the unconscious body.
"Silver is here, or at least was to have done this." A loud wining of a vehicle starting up caught Ben's attention. Ben backed up and looked down on of the avenues going between the warehouses. At the end of the avenue was a landing platform with a Bullhead. Ben ran around the warehouse to an avenue that didn't go directly to the Bullhead as to not be seen by the people near or in it.
...
Silver ran as the branches of the trees scratched her face and hands. She knew that these were probably her last moments yet she only thought of her brother and friends. She had only known Ben and Lindsey for 3 or 4 weeks yet she had such a close bond with both of them. She would miss each of them dearly. Especially Ben. The blond had always been extremely nice to her. He even put up with Thane. Even Silver had trouble with that sometimes. Thane would no doubt be devastated over this. He would blame himself for this. Who knows what he would do. The very thought set fire to her determination like a match to fuel.
"I may fall." Silver wiped the tears out of her eyes. "But not like this. I have to keep on living… For my friends, for Thane." New energy found its way into silver legs as she sprinted out of the woods. She was in a warehouse complex. Everything blurred together as she felt she was going faster and faster. Then an explosion knocked her off her feet.
The explosion blew her off her feet and she fell into someone. She knew she was caught, that whoever she ran into would let the lunatic finish her off.
"Silver?" Ben said with utter surprise to his partner. The voice brought instant relief and comfort to her mind but only for a moment.
"Haman, what is this?" said the armor clad woman, Crystal to the psycho behind Silver.
Haman, it seemed, had stopped smiling and now had a completely straight face.
"Just cleaning up what the useless minions couldn't." He said as he approached to finish Silver and the other hunter to be off.
"Hold up." Crystal said as she walked slowly down form the platform. Ben would have helped Silver up but now was no time to let his guard down. Ravager's blade was already extended and Ben stood in a defensive position. Crystal approached but stopped about 7 feet away.
"You're a Ranright, aren't you?" The sentence caught Ben completely off guard.
"Y-Yeah, but how do you know my family." Ben said perplexed.
"I suppose you could I had a close bond with your family that I severed in the past. I knew your father. I even saw him at the end."
"What?" Ben said as his eyes opened wide. Silver had been watching Haman but due to Ben's reaction had momentarily taken her eyes off the major threat. Just as she did Haman lunged at Ben to catch him off guard.
But then Haman received a drop kick to the face from Thane. Ben wiped around to his comrade. "Dude, where did you come from?"
"I was back at the one house talking to that lady. Right now I am gonna destroy this piece of crap and then I am coming for you, you stupid idiot." Thane chased after the boy as he jumped to the roof of a warehouse for an advantage.
Silver stood up and withdrew Twinfold.
"You're going to tell us what you know or we'll have no choice but to fight you."
Crystal chuckled as she drew a two handed blade out of the scabbard on her back.
"Just try it." She said slightly grinning, her face shining with confidence.
Ben jabbed quickly forcing Crystal to deflect it. Silver jumped to her left flank and swept at her legs. Crystal's armor made her slightly slower than Ben or Silver but she still managed to jump over the blade and land a crushing blow against ravager. The steel crashed together, but due to Ben's deteriorated condition, Ben was sent back a few paces.
Silver did a flip over Crystal and slashed at her back. The armor on her back was weaker than the rest of her armor and Crystal cried out in pain as the blade sliced into her back. She barely had time to get back into a defensive stance before Ben slashed at her with Ravager's blade. The blade crashed into the plating on her forearm but only made a definite dent in it.
"Enough." Crystal said as she ripped off her helmet and chucked it into Silver. It hit her directly in the stomach and knocked the air out of her the cut off cry of help from her brought ben into a state of rage as he, not even caring about his physical limits, landed blow after blow with his Ravager and his fist. He finally knocked Crystal off her feet at the ramp of the bullhead.
"Now tell me what did you mean 'you saw him at the end'." Crystal sighed
"What are you talking about? You were there as well." Crystal grinned in understanding.
"You don't remember do you? I guess I will tell you then." Crystal slide backwards a little before continuing.
"I am, shall we say, an acquaintance of the white fang. Ever since the old days. I was one of the ones who were there to burn down awful Hamrick's store. I honestly had no idea your father worked there. But he died trying to save one of our people." She slide back a little more.
"And you were there too. He died but you fulfilled the thing he died trying to. You saved the girl he was trying to. No doubt he would be proud."
Ben opened his eyes wide as he remembered. He remembered everything. His father had died right in front of him. He died from the fire, not the smoke. Right before silver's eyes, Ben's aura slicked one last time, then resurrected itself, brighter than ever.
Crystal looked over to the right and called "Haman!" Haman who had been getting his butt beat by Thane rushed to the help of his Master. Ben grinned as he turned to face the smile flying at him. Time itself slowed down as he and the boy made eye contact. Ben raised his fist and in one motion knocked the boy off into the storm clouds above.
Crystal took this opportunity to knock Ben off his feet and leap onto the Bullhead. The driver took activated the turbines and it flew up into the sky. Crystal looked down the Bullhead with a look that said "I'm sorry." The bullhead flew off into the unknown of the storm.
Thane slowly approached form behind. "Well, that was kinda epic."
Ben smiled and turned to the siblings. Let's go home."
...
*At lunch the next day*
"So how on did you find their location, Thane?" Pyrrah said before she took a bite of her food. Team RWBY, JNRP and BLST all sat at the same table listening to Thane telling his slightly more exaggerated version of their encounter.
"Using my ninja senses of course." Ben leaned over and whispered in Pyrrah's ear "The scrolls had locates in them." Pyrrah nodded and chuckled.
"So how to Silver doing?" Jaune said itching his head.
"Well, after she visited the nurse and got her wounds bandaged, she went to bed. She is probably still there." Thane said before taking a bite of his hamburger.
"Hold up, I'm still confused." Weiss said brushing a hair out of her face. "Why were they after Silver. I mean seriously. Wouldn't they want to kidnap someone important like-" Yang interrupted
"An heiress?" Yang smiled
"Well yeah. Wait…" Before Weiss could process what Yang said Yang jumped on an opportunity.
"Well it sounds like you guys had a Blast." Silence enveloped the table as a couple of them sighed.
"DARN IT YANG!" Everyone said almost in unison.
...
*Meanwhile*
The Bullhead came lower and landed a couple dozen feet away from a riverbank. Crystal jumped onto the deep green grass below and strode up to edge of the riverbank and looked down into it. In the water floated the body of Haman.
"Haman, you climb out. I know your not dead." Crystal sighed crossing her arms. Haman's body suddenly stirred and he started swimming up to the bank.
"And what if i had been dead? Just what would you have done. Cried? Buried me?" Haman said as he used his hands to grip the mud and pull himself up. Crystal shook her head as she she watched him try to climb up unaided.
"Well, I already mourn the skill that is wasted on an individual such as yourself. But no, I probably would have left you for the birds." Crystal finally reached out and grabbed the boy's hand and helped him up.
"Hmph." Haman grunted as he started wiping some of the mud off his drenched clothes. A small hum came from wrist.
"Is it him?"
"Yeah, just go get in, I'll be finished soon." Haman started trudged over to the Bullhead. Crystal pressed something on the inside of her forearm and Spoke into the top of her wrist.
"Usana here." She stopped and listened.
"Yeah, we've got what we needed... No, She escaped... She was rescued... They looked like other students..." Crystal sighed and looked at the sky.
"They could be a potential problem... How are things there?... you got it... We'll be there soon" Crystal pressed her under-forearm again and shook her head.
...
Silver turned over in her bed mumbling to herself like she was having a nightmare.
"I hav... warn him. I have to."
I have been meaning for yang to make that pun since the beginning. I did my best to make Haman creepy but not sure if i made him too creepy. Can't wait for more RWBY episodes after the epic food fight of episode one of volume two. I would love you guy's/girl's opinions on my story and would other input by reviewing it. Please PM me if you don't understand something that happened or the like.
