To say that Tony was excited was an understatement. He had five aliens (Technically six if you count Thor) in his tower that had awesome laser swords and laser guns and one had a robot hand? And he was going to have a look at it? It was the best day ever!
After him and Bruce had led Anakin to a lab that had some spare tools, Anakin had looked at some of them (and was confused by others) and grabbed some screwdrivers of all different sizes and sat at a desk.
He was flexing his fingers out on his robotic hand with a small frown on his face before laying his hand on the surface of the desk. He undid the three straps on the gauntlet with his other hand, which was bare with no glove on, and slowly pulled the gauntlet off his hand.
Tony let out a gasp of amazement at the gold plated hand that had been under the gauntlet, and the wires that were interwoven through it. Anakin had grabbed a pair of tweezers that belong to Tony, and started examining the hand closely.
"That looks awesome." Tony grinned at Anakin who only shrugged in response as he continued working on his hand, "Do a lot of people in your galaxy have them?"
Anakin looked at Tony, "Not that many but still a few. Mainly people who deal with lightsabers."
Bruce got a look of understanding in his eyes as he eyed the robotic hand. Tony seemed to have come to the same conclusion as Bruce, but unlike the doctor, he didn't have enough sense not to press the issue.
"So who cut it off?" Tony asked, making Anakin look at him sharply as Tony continued, "I mean, you obviously didn't cut it off yourself."
Anakin rolled his eyes and continued working on his hand, flexing his fingers and seemed happy it wasn't as stiff as before, "It happened a few years ago. Dooku did it… I was only a Padawan still at the time." He said, sounding rather absent as he clenched his robotic hand to test it and then unclenched it. Happy that it was working normally, he started putting the gauntlet back on, "It's better than only having one hand, but I would have preferred not to have lost it in the first place."
Tony nodded his head, "I know the feeling." He agreed, making Anakin look at him with a 'you really have no idea' expression.
"It's true!" Tony exclaimed. "I… something bad happened to me a while ago and I had to go around with this thing in my chest so I wouldn't die."
Anakin frowned, and glanced at Tony's chest and then back to the mans face, "Not anymore?" he asked.
"Nah. I got fixed with this stuff called Extremis." Tony waved a hand with a smile, "Only a few months ago that happened."
Anakin frowned, "What is Extremis?"
Tony launched into an explanation.
After Tony and Bruce left, that left Steve with Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, Rex and Padmé. They were eating their take out, and when she finished, Padmé decided to go to the bedroom that he had been given to share with Anakin. She said she had a long day.
Not long after, Natasha and Clint turned up. Ahsoka looked at them as they came off the elevator, wondering where they had gone. They sat down and started eating some of the take away too – really, it was lucky that JARVIS had ordered a lot – and they started talking.
"We never got to spar last time you were here." Natasha said in an off hand way to Ahsoka, who raised an eye-mark at her with a cheeky grin.
"Is that a hint?"
"Maybe." Natasha replied, with a slight smirk.
"You're on." Ahsoka replied, a grin on her lips and she stood up the same time as Natasha.
The rest of the people in the room looked on at the two women with interest, and from some, amusement.
"There's a training room one level below this." Natasha told Ahsoka, who grinned in response and nodded her head.
They looked at everyone else, Clint grinned, "This I gotta see." He stated, and got to his feet and grabbed the bags of take out, "Come on." He said, "My money's on Tash."
"Clint. We're not betting on this." Steve groaned, and the archer just shrugged, "Tony will." He responded.
Steve paused, and then regretfully nodded his head, "Yeah he will." He sighed.
"Well, what're you waiting for?" Clint asked, looking at Natasha and Ahsoka, "You have a fight to fight!"
He killed her.
Father, you do not have to do this.
In cold blood.
I want to do this
She had told him not to.
You can fight it
He plunged the sceptre into her heart.
There is nothing to fight
His own daughter.
I love you father.
His distant blue eyes stared down at Hela's still body. Her eyes shut, but there was a tear streaking down her face fallen when she still breathed.
He killed her.
There was a deep laugh from behind him, "Good job, runt."
Where there would have normally been a fill of pride and joy at getting praise from his master, he just felt hollow. Dead. Hela. Beautiful little Hela. Gone. Dead. Forever. If you were killed in Helheim, you stayed there forever.
Loki brought a hand up, wiping his face when he felt something crawling on it. When he pulled his hand away, it was wet. Tears. He was crying.
Hela was dead. He was crying. His daughter. He killed her. Thanos told him to. He had to do what Thanos said… Thanos was always right. Why did it feel wrong?
"Lady Death will appreciate the gift I have given her." Thanos continued behind Loki, "I'm sure she will praise you too."
He had given Hela to death. His daughter. Lokidoittr. Dead forever.
Loki's eyes flashed green.
Thanos chuckled again behind him, "Aww, don't worry so much, Runt. You will have time to blame yourself later. First we must lure your mother out and get you to kill her. After that, your brother and then the rest of your children.
Kill his mother? His brother? His children?
Death. Dead. Gone.
"NO!" Loki screamed, swirling around to face Thanos, green mixing with red pushing the blue tint out of his eyes and his skin flared deep blue on some parts around his face.
He charged at Thanos, his skin showering the room in angry green sparks. His Sceptre hit Thanos in the chest, but it did little harm to him. Loki dropped the sceptre, his skin changing between Jotun and Aesir.
He raised his hand up and then threw it to the ground, a large burst of green magic exploding between them which actually thrust Thanos backwards by the force of it. His wild eyes, changing between green and red locked onto Thanos and he let out an animalistic snarl.
"You ever touch my family then you will be dead!"
"I'd love to see you try, Runt!" Thanos snarled back, his eyes narrowed at Loki and then he held his hand up at Loki.
Loki vanished before the blast of energy hit him, and reappeared next to the throne and Hela's body. He grabbed her body and pulled her into a hug, and then his magic swirled around him as he vanished once again.
He reappeared somewhere else completely, with several sets of surprised eyes staring at him, on the ground and cradling his dead daughter's body.
"Young Laufeyson." Yoda greeted, he was the least surprised of all the Jedi council.
Ahsoka faltered, which allowed Natasha to grab her shoulders and slide between the Jedi's legs and pull her to the ground. Ahsoka landed with a wince, and then grabbed Natasha's offered hand after a moment.
Ahsoka let Natasha pull her up. Natasha smiled at the girl, "Not bad." The assassin nodded her head, "Room for improvement, but not bad."
Ahsoka absently nodded her head, and glanced over at Obi-Wan and Anakin (Anakin, Tony and Bruce had come down shortly after the match had started and much to Clint's prediction they had taken bets. Though since they both knew that Natasha was going to win, they had taken bets on how long Ahsoka was going to last.)
Obi-Wan had a miniscule frown on his face, and Anakin was staring off into the distance, a blank look on his face.
"Uh? You guys ok?" Tony's voice caught Ahsoka's attention, making her look at the genius.
"I…" Ahsoka started but shook her head, unable to finish.
"Uh, Natalie, you didn't break her did you?" Tony asked, directing his question at Natasha.
Ahsoka shook her head absently, "No… I sensed something." She admitted, and looked at the older Jedi. Obi-Wan seemed to be refocused on the room and the people in it but Anakin was still staring off into the distance.
Ahsoka met Obi-Wan's eyes and she knew he had sensed it too.
"What did you sense?" Natasha asked, looking at the orange skinnded girl.
It was Anakin that responded, "Anger. Pain. Fear. Guilt. Rage. Distress." He let off in a breath, his eyes refocusing, "Death."
"Well, that sounds uplifting." Tony commented, "Did your magic eight ball tell you where this was coming from?"
Ahsoka and Obi-Wan shook their heads but Anakin stayed still. Everyone seemed to notice.
"Well, Robo-cop?" Tony asked, and Anakin looked at him.
"Do you really want to know?" the Jedi asked.
Tony opened his mouth to speak again but he was cut off by Clint, "It was Loki. Wasn't it." It wasn't really a question, even though he voiced it as one. There was surprisingly no anger in his voice.
Anakin nodded his head.
"Oh force." Ahsoka gasped, looking at Anakin with wide blue eyes, "He was feeling those emotions?" she asked, even if it was a needless thing.
Anakin nodded his head again anyway, and then looked around the room. Ahsoka did too, taking in the expressions of everyone. Most seemed to have a calm face on, even Clint.
"Hela's dead." Anakin said, looking at Rex next to him, then at Ahsoka, and then to Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan's eyes shot to the ceiling, and Ahsoka gasped and was suddenly very glad that Thor had gone off somewhere else. Rex's mouth dropped open.
"Wait – Hela? You mean the kid you and Thorel was talking about before? Loki's kid? Goddess of Death?" Tony interrupted.
"Yes." Anakin confirmed and Ahskoa swallowed hard.
Hela had sheltered them for the past three weeks and she was dead? Who killed her? She turned to Anakin to ask him that question, but the look on his face made her stop in her tracks. Her eyes widened in realisation.
Blue-eyed Loki had killed his own daughter.
"Sithspit." She let out.
