Well, I'm not sure I, or anyone else saw this coming! Its been a longggggg time since I've updated this, and I didnt plan on posting another update, but for some reason, I decided to log back onto Fanfic and was greeted by lots of lovely reviews that I never knew were here and it made me think and also got me out of my writers block. I'm not sure how long I will keep this going for this time. I'm working full time and going to college in the evenings so life is pretty hectic! But I promise I will try my hardest to update more often providing you guys are still enjoying!
I sank back into the couch and hugged my now massive stomach. Being pregnant is not easy and now simple tasks such as walking, well waddling, down the stairs took all the energy I had. At 35 weeks pregnant though, it didn't bother me, all I wanted, needed even was my beautiful baby girl in my arms. Ezra and I had been living in the new house for five whole weeks now and we loved our new life. The house, our house, was perfect, and Ezra got himself a new job just a few minutes away so he was always nearby if needed working in the local grocery store, it wasn't perfect, but it was enough to get us by just until he could find himself a new teaching job elsewhere. Mom kept to her promise and visited every weekend for her two night stay, but I hadn't seen the girls. They'd text of course, and promised that they would visit soon but as the days went by, so did the weeks. I was beginning to lose hope. "Aria?" Ezra called from upstairs. "Could you come up here for a minute please? I need to show you something." I huffed as I pushed myself back up from the couch. I loved Ezra, but his DIY skills were somewhat desirable and for the last week he had been spending what little spare time he had outside of work decorating the baby's nursery and as per Doctor James' orders I was strictly forbidden from helping and was there for sole advice only.
"Coming, Ezra," I called up the stairs as I began my climb. When I finally reached the top, a paint covered Ezra greeted me, taking my hand in one of his, and placing his other on the small of my back as he guided me to the room.
"Don't look until I say, ok!" I squeezed my eyelids shut. "Open them!" As I opened my eyes I was hit by the most beautiful sight and the most gorgeous baby nursery I had ever seen. The pale pink walls echoed the gorgeous white lace curtains, white rocking chair and white oak furniture. "Well? How did I do?" I turned to face the man of my dreams and kissed him.
"You did.. Perfect. Thank you so much!" With that his phone beeped and he looked at it swiftly before putting it back into his pocket without saying a word.
"Wait! I have another surprise! Quick, we have to go back downstairs." He helped me waddle down them before ushering me to the front door where he hastily put on his coat. "Go on, open the door." I looked at him confused.
"Why? Are you going somewhere?"
"Just open it, please?" I did as requested and opened the door, and squealed with excitement at the sight I was greeted by.
"SURPRISE!" The girls all shouted in tandem. Mom was there, as well Hanna, Emily, Spencer and even Veronica, who had also been brought into mine and Ezra's little secret after mom had to move us away from Rosewood, all weighed down with balloons saying 'It's a girl' and bags filled with presents of all shapes and sizes wrapped in pink papers and ribbons. Ezra kissed me on the cheek.
"Now, I'm getting out of here. Men aren't supposed to be at these baby shower thingys and I'm sure you guys all have a lot of catching up to do. I'll see you all later." He smiled at me before pushing his way past the girls and heading out to his car and starting up the engine. I was so lucky. I'd definitely have to think of a way to repay him!
"Well?" Hanna began, "Are you going to ask us in or should we open presents on the door step?" She laughed. I threw my arms around the girls for one big hug before inviting them all in.
After the afternoon passed in the blink of an eye, opening presents, catching up and just going back to normality, the girls all decided it was time to leave to begin the hour and a half journey back home. I hugged them all goodbye and made them all promise to visit me more often before waving them all goodbye. As I closed the door and headed back to the couch I smiled, realising just how much I missed each and every one of my friends. For that split moment, I thought my life was perfect, and then, I glanced at my phone and horror filled my veins.
"This game of hide and seek has gone on for long enough. Nice try, but with those girls around, you couldn't keep it up for long. I've found you now and I'm coming to get you. Game Over –A"
And it was then I heard the footsteps upstairs.
