When Past meets Present
Chapter 9:
Takashi awoke in a room full of light, and sighed a relief. He was still alive. Trying to get up, he noticed that there was another presence in the room. Looking to the window, he noticed that she was there. He sprang off the bed, but as he did so, the pain in his abdomen made his brain send other instructions to his limbs. Tumbling to the floor, Hinata jumped up, hearing the sound.
"Takashi? What are you doing out of bed?!"
"I was just-" he broke off. "Did you sleep here?" He continued, trying to change the subject.
"Yeah, I was really worried. You stabbed yourself the other day! And then yesterday, you went crazy."
"At least we're both alive. I did what I had to for you."
She blushed. "Thanks." She then stretched out a hand to help him on his feet. When he made it back onto his bed, Hinata took a seat beside him. Takashi was close to grabbing her. He kept looking out through the window but his feelings are almost exploding.
"Thanks for staying here even though I was unconscious."
"I owe you, and plus," she paused. She turned to look at him, and he looked at her. Her eyes were sparkling, and what was better, she had a smile on her face. Takashi couldn't help himself any at all, so instead of fighting back the urge, he knotted his left hands fingers with her right hands'. Takashi's heart began to race, and not long after, he found himself kissing her.
Kakashi sat on his bed in the hospital, in deep thought. He was still shaken up from what he experienced, and even more when he had received Takashi's part.
"I can't believe he's falling for Hinata." He chuckled. "Who would've thought?" He got up off the bed, and decided to visit Takashi. He snuck out through the window, tracing the boy's chakra signature. Within no time, he found him. He went to the boy's window only stumble upon something...surprising. He snuck through the window, and stood before the teens.
"Ahem," he said. "Hey there, Takashi, Hinata."
"Who ―?" Hinata asked.
"No need to fret, I'm Kakashi, Takashi's older brother. I just want a minute with Takashi. Big brother-little brother kind of thing."
"Oh, I -" she said as she rose to her feet.
"Don't worry, I won't tell. But Takashi, couldn't you have found another way of saving her?" Kakashi said as he paced around the room, both forgetting that Hinata was still in the room. However, she quickly whisked herself away from them. "We need to tell Hiruzen what's been happening."
"Teenage hormones, I guess." He grinned.
"That's not funny."
"But Hiruzen already knows that we're being targeted so-"
"Not about that. What you did the day you stabbed yourself, making ice needles from your palms. And what happened yesterday..."
"Oh, that." Takashi looked at the sheets. "It was all reflexes. Plus, I was covered with ice, so it was the only thing I had to ―."
"T," Kakashi said lazily. "Just be more careful next time." He said while walking to the door. "He's all yours," he said with a smile to Hinata. With those words, he vanished from their eyes.
Hinata walked to her house from the hospital, her mind still thinking about Takashi. Especially the kiss. Unconsciously, she traced her lips with her fingers, reminiscing. Was it that she was falling for him? She smiled to herself.
"Hinata, where were you yesterday?" Kiba asked. He was just out walking Akamaru when he stumbled upon her.
"I was at the hospital." She answered.
"Why?" He asked. "Were you hurt?"
"Sort of. I caused someone to get seriously injured so I-"
"Who?" He asked. "Is it Naruto?"
"No! Heavens, no. It was Takashi."
"Takashi?"
Sighing, Takashi looked through the window at Hinata walking down the road. He felt really guilty inside, after what happened yesterday. It plagued him in his dreams, even when he just closes his eyes. It scared the hell out of him yesterday, seeing ice covering the entire place. Suddenly the door opened. Turning around, he saw that it was Lord Hokage.
"Hiruzen. What are you doing here?"
"Kakashi. You're coming with me."
"My name is Takashi in this timeline." He answered. "But I need to get dressed."
"No you don't." As the Hokage said this, two ANBU grabbed him; one held his hands and the other held his feet. Takashi tried to break free, but then he felt a sharp pain in his neck and subsequently, he blacked out.
Takashi awoke some minutes later, he found himself in a dark room, and when he looked to the left, he saw Kakashi, bound to the floor by a series of seals. He wasn't fidgeting, but he was talking to Gai, and the others that were there.
"What's happening?" Takashi asked, looking around. "What are you going to do?"
"That dragon needs to be controlled." He said, solemnly. Takashi was then placed on the ground beside Kakashi and not long after, series of seals were around his wrists and ankles. "Genma, Asuma," Hiruzen called. "Get ready," the ninjas only nodded and motioned towards the boy. Hiruzen began the seal, and strangely, a feel of fear rushed into him. During that process, Takashi noticed that the same seal he saw on the door was visible on his abdomen. However, Hiruzen stopped midway.
"Why'd you stop, Hokage-sama?" one of the ANBU asked.
"There's nothing wrong with this seal. It's perfectly intact." Hirzuen sounded shocked. "I don't understand. The events that occurred, it meant that the seal was breaking. But this seal is perfectly fine." Hearing this, Takashi felt a relief. He wanted to jump and scream but his limbs were bound. With a sigh, he performed seals and within a minute or two, Takashi's limbs were unbound. He was then escorted out by an ANBU, but when he turned back to look in the room, the slammed shut in his face.
"Let's go," the ANBU said.
"But why can't I stay?"
"You might get hurt. In case something goes horribly wrong, you won't get in the line of fire."
"It should be ice." He mumbled. The ANBU made no indication that he heard, so they continued to walk the corridor in silence.
Back in the sealing room, Kakashi lay still on the floor, awaiting the sealing. As Hiruzen moved over him, the old man noticed something odd. Kakashi's seal was perfectly intact. He wondered what caused the outpour of chakra. Baffled, the Hokage sighed miserably. The ANBU beside him motioned to release the seals, freeing Kakashi.
"So no sealing Hokage-sama?" Kakashi asked as he got up off the floor.
"Strangely, your seal is still intact."
Takashi walked the streets, hoping to find Hinata. He still remembered the kiss; he still remembered the fun they had.
"Hinata-chan where are you?"
