Chapter Ten

Breaking Down

The next week, they arranged to meet Fugo's mother and sister at Ocean City, New Jersey so they could visit the beach and the boardwalk. Suzy and Joseph decided to take them so they could visit the beach too. They arrived at a shop on the board walk a bit early. Giorno told Suzy and Joseph to go on and he'd call them to meet for lunch. Giorno decided to look around the shop while Narancia and Fugo stood outside to look for Fugo's family. He realized he hadn't brought any swim clothes with him, and neither had Fugo or Narancia. He found a pair of shorts for himself and picked out a pair that were probably women's shorts for Narancia. He then found a plain pair of red shorts for Fugo. He didn't think they would need sunscreen since they were all three tan already. He paid and walked out with the bag.

Fugo was talking to an older woman with dark hair and a kind smile and a younger woman with long, black hair and a bikini on. She had a robe like cover up that was fastened above her stomach with a triangle pattern around the edges.

"Oh, this is Giorno," Fugo said and put his arm around his shoulders. "Giorno, this is my sister Sheila, and my mom."

Giorno smiled and shook hands with each of them. Shelia looked at him for a minute then glanced at Narancia and back to Fugo.

"So, how do you three, like do this? Is someone in charge or something? How's three people work?" she asked them.

Giorno felt his face heat up a little but Fugo squeezed his shoulders tightly. "Easy, we share Giorno between us."

Sheila arched a brow and nodded slowly. "I see," she said and smirked at Giorno. "Aren't you the lucky boy to get all the attention. I wish I had two good looking boys after me..."

Giorno felt his cheeks get even hotter and he knew he was probably red faced by now. He swallowed and showed Fugo the bag. "Um, I got us some swim shorts so we can get in the water."

"Good thinking, we didn't have anything!" Narancia said as he dug into the bag and pulled out the shorts with the floral pattern. "These are mine, right?" he asked.

Giorno nodded and they looked for a restroom they could change in. They found one pretty easily and all went in to change. They quickly came out, putting their clothes in the bag. Fugo took it to carry.

"This is a beautiful place," Fugo commented as they started to walk down the boardwalk.

Along the way, they stopped at several little shops to look around. They found the taffy place and all of them indulged in some of it. Finally, it was time for lunch so they picked a place and Giorno called Joseph and Suzy to meet them there. After a few minutes of waiting outside the place, Giorno saw them coming, but then Joseph at his size was hard to miss. When they got over to them, Giorno smiled at them.

"Joseph, Suzy, this is Fugo's mother and sister Sheila. Guys, this is my, um...well he's technically my nephew but he's older than me," Giorno said with a shrug.

Everyone chatted and before long they'd finished lunch and sat talking mostly about the Jersey shore and what all they were going to do the rest of the day. It was decided that they would walk down the boardwalk for another couple hours, then head down to the beach for a swim and relaxation. Giorno found himself holding Narancia's hand and Fugo kept his arm around his shoulders. They got some interesting looks but no one said anything to them. Giorno supposed that there were all kinds of people that came here so they didn't look that out of place.

As a couple hours passed, they spent it looking in shops and getting small snacks along the way. Giorno found that everyone tried to get him to eat, and he supposed it was because in his depression he'd lost weight and hadn't gained it back yet. Finally, they all headed down to the beach. Fugo's mother had brought a beach blanket and set it out on a space. Everyone took off their shoes and left them with her along with the bag of their clothes.

"Have you ever been to the ocean before?" Fugo asked as Sheila and Narancia splashed out into the water.

"No, I've never been here before, it is pretty amazing," Giorno said as he looked out to the surf.

Fugo grabbed his hand and started pulling him out into the water. Giorno followed him until they were out about waist deep. He then sat down in the water and pulled Giorno to straddle his leg. Giorno gasped as he felt him hard against his leg. Fugo grinned at Giorno's surprised face.

"What? It has been hard to keep myself calm in these shorts; they show everything. So I figured we'd come out here to get some privacy," Fugo explained.

"But this isn't private! Your sister is just over there with Narancia!" Giorno exclaimed, but Fugo's leg constantly rubbing against him was quickly putting him in the same situation.

"They can't see anything. Here, let me help you, and you help me," he said as he reached down and grasped him inside his shorts. He rolled his eyes and exhaled sharply.

Giorno looked around to make sure no one really was watching them as he reached down into Fugo's shorts and started stroking him under the water. He leaned forward and put his head on Fugo's shoulder and stared down into the water as Fugo's hand worked him at the same pace as he did Fugo. It didn't take long for him to feel the feeling begin to wash over him. He gasped out and started to breath heavily.

"Go on, baby," Fugo whispered in his ear. "I got you."

Giorno didn't have to be told twice; he gasped out and ground down against Fugo's leg as Fugo stroked him firmly. He panted on his shoulder, spent in more than one way. He kept up with trying to bring Fugo over. It took him a painfully long time until his hand was beginning to cramp before Fugo finally gripped him on the shoulders and let out a harsh, shuddering breath.

"Okay, come on, let's go over to Narancia and Sheila before they get suspicious," Fugo said with a smirk as they stood and waded their way over where the other two were splashing at each other.

"There you two are," Sheila said with a glance at Narancia. "We were wondering when you two were going to disentangle from each other."

Giorno felt his face heat as he gripped Fugo's hand. Narancia suddenly leaped over onto him. "My turn to play with Giorno!" he announced loudly.

Giorno fell back into the water with a splash and laughed as Narancia started pushing water at him. He didn't think that either of the other two knew exactly what they'd been doing, though Sheila might have an idea the way she gave him the side eye now and then. Narancia used the water to his advantage even though he was shorter than Giorno. He kept dunking him and climbing on him.

By the time they came out of the water, Giorno was exhausted and flopped down on the blanket with a deep exhale. Narancia sat down beside him and Fugo sat on the other side by his mother and sister. Giorno was tired after all that playing with Narancia in the water. He felt his eyes grow heavy and he rolled onto his stomach to hide his eyes in his arm. He felt himself drift off for a little while. Then he heard someone calling him softly and he didn't want to answer them. He was comfortable. Then someone grabbed his ass and he pushed himself up with a gasp. He heard Narancia laughing behind him.

"Knew that would wake you up. Come on, we're going to go have dinner with everyone," Narancia snickered as they gathered their things. They found a change room and everyone changed into their clothes. It felt nice to get into his clothes after swimming for so long.

Fugo's mother led them to a place on the boardwalk where Joseph and Suzy were meeting them. Everyone sat down and had a good dinner. Giorno was still exhausted and he almost nodded off sitting at the table.

"You okay?" Joseph asked him with a concerned face.

"Yeah, just tired," Giorno explained as he adjusted in his seat. "I haven't done this much outside of the house in a long time, and definitely not so much that I enjoyed it."

Joseph nodded and patted his shoulder. "I don't know how you guys can go without sunblock out there. I would have roasted. But Giorno's never sunburned."

"The Italian blood," Fugo's mother said with a smirk. "Fugo and Sheila's father was Italian and both got his skin tone. It looks like Giorno has that same coloration."

"My birth parents, I guess," Giorno said with a shrug. He didn't know for sure if either of them were Italian.

There was a little more chit chat about how the day had went, but honestly, Giorno couldn't keep up with it and hardly kept his eyes open. He felt someone shake him and he blinked at Fugo.

"Come on, baby," he said gently. "Time to go home and put you to bed."

Giorno stretched and yawned as he got up. He felt Narancia take one hand and Fugo took the other. He was led through the boardwalk and back down to where Joseph had parked his car. They loaded in and not five minutes after getting in, Giorno fell asleep on Fugo's shoulder. He next woke up when he was being shaken.

"Wha?" he asked as he blinked sleepily.

"We're home," Joseph said from the front.

"Oh, okay," Giorno said and got out of the car with the others. They waved at Joseph as he and Suzy pulled away.

"Come on, you look exhausted still," Fugo said and took his hand. Narancia grabbed the other and they both led him to his room. Once there, they helped him out of his clothes and into his pajamas. It didn't take long for him to get laid down once more and sleep to find him again. He vaguely noticed when someone got into the bed beside him and put an arm around him. He didn't notice who it was, though.

oooooo-OOOOOO-oooooo

Narancia was sitting in the kitchen when he heard Giorno's phone ring in the bedroom. He looked up as Giorno came out and held the phone out toward him. Narancia gave him a curious look and took the phone from him.

"Hello?"

"Narancia, Abbacchio. I was calling to give you a bit of information I dug up," Abbacchio told him.

"What's that?" Narancia asked, sitting up straighter in his seat.

"So, in looking around at stuff related to that juvie facility, I found that there had been an accusation of organ trafficking. This meshes with what you had to say, and the police are very interested in your story. They should contact you soon. The funny thing was, I found that the person accused of black market organ trafficking had been Diavolo, the same man that is involved in Fugo's case as well as another of mine," he explained.

Narancia sat there for a second. "So it is real."

"Yeah, it is, and you're not the only one. I want you to go to this Doctor that I work with, a Dr. Brown. She'll do a scan on you and confirm the missing kidney for the police. Can you take down her number?"

"Yeah, just a second," he said and got up to grab the notepad on the kitchen counter. He scribbled down the number as Abbacchio read it off to him. "When should I call her?"

"Today, if you can. She's already involved with the case after performing scans on others to check for missing organs. Every piece of evidence we can get for the case is more that we can nail this guy with. The police are now directly investigating Diavolo, so there should be some movement soon."

"Okay, got it. I'll call her. Thank you for the information," Narancia said and clicked off the phone.

He looked up to see Giorno watching him. "They got a connection to that Diavolo creep. I'm going to call a doctor about having a scan done for evidence," he explained to Giorno.

"Alright, I'm sure we can get you there to have it done," Giorno confirmed, smiling softly at him.

Narancia nodded and dialed the number of the doctor. A few rings, and she answered. "Dr. Brown, how may I help you?"

"Um, my name is Narancia Ghirga, and I've been working with Abbacchio on a case about organ trafficking. He told me to call you and set up a scan to confirm that I'm missing one of my kidneys like I believe?" he managed to get out as smoothly as possible.

"Ah yes, I was waiting for your call. Can you come in this Friday at two pm?" she asked.

"I can do that. What's the address?"

She relayed the information and then spoke to him. "Thank you so much for agreeing to help with the case."

"No problem, bye!" he said as he hung up. He handed Giorno back his phone. "Friday at 2, I need to be at this address," he explained to him.

Giorno looked at it and nodded. "Okay, I'll go talk to Jonathan and make sure he's available for it."

As soon as Giorno left, Narancia felt sudden panic settling into his chest. The room was suddenly too small and folding in on him. He swallowed frantically and ran out the door to get outside and get rid of the feelings of being closed in. He went to the garden and dropped to his knees among the plants. His breath was heavy and gasping but soon the feeling started to fade. Shit, he thought. This wasn't good. Was his medicine not working right? Had something changed?

He finally felt back to normal and went back in the house just before Giorno came back. Giorno smiled and said that Jonathan would take them there this Friday, no problem. The next few days were a whirl as Narancia waited for Friday to get there so he'd finally know for sure. Finally, Friday came. He asked Giorno to go with him. Soon they found themselves at the hospital waiting for Dr. Brown. After a few minutes of waiting a tall, slender woman with curly black hair and deep brown eyes came out and called Narancia's name.

Narancia stood up and nodded to Giorno as he followed her back without saying anything. She led him to a room with a big machine of some sort and she told him to lay down on the table in front of it. She moved an arm of the machine with a square plate on the end and settled it over his abdomen.

"I'm just going to take an xray, so just be still and this won't take but a moment." She stepped out of the room behind a wall into a little windowed room. The machine made some noises and then there was a click. She stepped out and moved the arm back.

"Well, what does it say?" Narancia asked with trepidation.

She grabbed the film and stuck it on a light screen. She glanced at him and pointed to the scan. "This is your left kidney. You have no right kidney. For you that means you'll have to be careful not to get injured on the left side."

"So I wasn't just crazy," he breathed. "I was right. No one would listen..."

"They're listening now," Dr. Brown said with a half smile. "You'll be able to live a normal life with one kidney."

"But now I know for sure. What happened was real. It wasn't just my delusions. I really did wake up during that surgery and he really did steal one of my kidneys." Narancia nodded and smiled at her. "Thank you," he said and sighed.

She led him back out to the waiting room where Giorno was waiting for him. Giorno stood up when he came out.

"Well?" he asked.

"I was right. I'm missing a kidney," Narancia said proudly. "I knew it!"

Giorno smiled and hugged him tightly. Narancia patted him on the back and then they bid farewell to the doctor. All the way home, Narancia went on and on about how amazing it was to know for sure.

oooooo-OOOOOO-oooooo

Fugo picked up his phone with annoyance. Today he'd woken up feeling rather irritable. He just was not in the mood to deal with anything today, least of all phone calls. He saw that it was Abbacchio, though, so he figured he should answer it.

"Fugo here," he answered shortly.

"Fugo, hi, this is Abbacchio." Fugo snorted. He didn't need to say that since he had caller ID.

"Yes, do you have something for me?"

There was a pause and he could hear papers shuffling. "I tracked down the therapist, a man named Tiziano. He revealed, after some convincing, that he was paid off by Diavolo to try and influence your story. He apparently has since had his license revoked for 'unethical behavior'. It seems he was paid off by Diavolo a couple times to do similar things and lie in court. He revealed that he thought it had been Diavolo himself that started the investigation into your family."

Fugo felt his anger build up immediately. "So, one man ruined my entire family over a car lot?"

"It looks that way. Your parents wouldn't submit to his wants, so he proceeded to do everything to ruin them. He ruined some other families in different ways. I think he came up with the Satanic stuff because it sounded so outlandish that it had to be real. There was also not definitive way to prove whether or not it happened, and when Tiziano claimed you were too traumatized to remember, it ensured that what you said never entered the record."

Fugo was silent for a long time. "Okay, is that everything?"

"That's all I've uncovered thus far. I'll contact you again with anything else."

"Thank you, I appreciate all you're doing for me and my family," Fugo told him and hung up.

How dare that man ruin his family over some car lot. It just made him so angry that he couldn't stand it. He started pacing behind the sofa and mumbling under his breath.

"Mother fucker," he exclaimed. "How dare that one man bring ruin to my life?"

He didn't hear the door to the bedroom open and Giorno come out, so when he felt someone touch his shoulder he turned on them.

"What the fuck do you want?" he shouted and immediately regretted it.

Giorno's face froze in a mask of fear. His eyes were wide and he was breathing fast. Fugo gasped and put his hand over his mouth. "Oh, my God, Giorno, I'm sorry, I didn't..."

But Giorno bolted for his room and slammed the door. Fugo felt the anger drain away and he wondered if he'd just screwed up this relationship. He swallowed hard and could only think of one thing to do. He had to make it up to him and show him he was sorry. He'd have to go as Erina and Jonathan for help because he didn't know what to do. Every relationship he'd ever had died because of this very thing. He went to the door and decided he had to fix this.

oooooo-OOOOOO-oooooo

Narancia was still in the bedroom when he heard Fugo yell and Giorno came in and slam the door. It didn't take a genius to figure out that Fugo had an outburst at him. He hopped off the bed and put his hands on Giorno's shoulders. He flinched hard enough to bounce his head into the door, and Narancia knew that it was bad for him.

"Hey, come on, let's lay down and I'll tell you about my family that I used to have," he said and pulled him by the hand over to the bed. He mechanically crawled into the bed and laid down.

Narancia covered him up and put his arms around his shoulders and snuggled close to him. He didn't really know how to comfort him, so he kissed his cheek gently. Giorno looked at him, looking a little less pale.

"I miss my mom. She died when I was ten, you see. She had eye cancer and it went to her brain. After she died, my dad was pretty shitty to me, and just ignored me. That was how I started bouncing around other peoples' houses." He paused and saw that Giorno was listening to him intently. "I loved my mom, and she loved me. I think my dad loved her too, so I think when she died he kind of gave up on life in general, and me in particular."

Giorno swallowed hard and spoke quietly. "My dad hated me. My mom didn't care about me, she was too busy with her own life. He always yelled really loud and th-that meant he was going to hurt me somehow."

"Aw, Giorno," Narancia said and brushed a hand over his head. "Fugo didn't mean to scare you like that, I'm sure. He just has trouble controlling his anger sometimes. I'm sure he feels rightly terrible."

Giorno laughed a little nervously. "I didn't know I'd go back to being a scared kid again. I just haven't been around that kind of thing and it was like I was pulled right back into my old habits. Run and hide, pretend to be invisible and silent so he didn't notice me. But he'd always find me." Giorno's eyes welled with tears and he wiped them angrily away. "It's stupid. I'm almost 22 years old and I still get frightened by someone getting loud."

"Don't feel like that, Giorno," Narancia said and kissed his cheek gently. "You can't help it. Right now, though, you're safe and with me. No one will ever hurt you again. I promise you that."

Suddenly, Giorno grabbed Narancia's face and kissed him. It quickly turned into a languid exploration of each other's mouth, neither minding the messiness of the encounter. Giorno was clutching him desperately. Narancia clutched him back and before long, he'd slid his hand down and was squeezing Giorno through his pajama pants.

"Hey," Narancia said with a short gasp. "You sure you wanna do this now?"

"I want to feel," he whispered and if Narancia hadn't been hard, that would have done it.

He dove down and kissed him again, feeling the push of Giorno's tongue on his and the sensation of just touching drove him mad. He'd watched what Fugo did, so could he do that too? He swallowed hard and tossed the covers to the floor. He then stopped kissing long enough to grab the waistband of Giorno's pants and underwear and yanked them both down his legs. He then reached for him and stroked his dripping length for a few seconds before he slid his hand underneath him and probed at his entrance. Giorno arched a little and gasped as he got two fingers worked into him quickly. He was not in the mood to take forever. However he wondered how long he should use his fingers before he was ready? He realized he had no idea. Fugo had used the strawberry stuff and a condom, so he figured he should do the same.

He pulled his fingers out of the tight heat of Giorno's body and reached over to the little box on the side table. He grabbed the lube and dropped it between Giorno's legs. He then grabbed one of the condoms and unwrapped it. He stared at it for a second, wondering how to put it on. It took him a minute to figure it out, but he finally did, rolling it down over himself. Giorno was staring at him as though he were taking too long.

"Sorry, never put one on before," he said with a shy grin.

"Aren't you older than Fugo?" Giorno asked, sitting up a little.

"Yeah, I'm twenty-five, but I've still never done this," he told him then pushed him back down on the bed. "So this might take me a minute to figure out."

He opened the strawberry stuff and squeezed a little on his fingers. He played with it for a second, watching as it clung to him and noticing how slick it felt. He then reached down and plunged them into Giorno. He frowned and began to feel around inside for whatever it was that made Giorno squirm in pleasure. He had no idea where to feel, so he just tried feeling all around until Giorno gasped and arched up under him.

"Found it," he muttered and began stroking the spongy spot that he felt.

After what felt like a long time, he felt that he couldn't wait anymore. He was aching from holding back. "Okay, Giorno, I'm gonna go ahead, are you okay?" he asked.

"Yeah, fine, please," he whispered as he squirmed under Narancia's hands.

Narancia slid up between his legs and pressed against him, starting to press forward a little. Then he realized he forgot to put lube on himself. He pulled back and squeezed more of the strawberry gel on his hand, this time stroking himself with it. He had to keep his head into this because he didn't want to mess up and accidentally hurt Giorno. He lined himself up with him and started pressing forward. He pulled back and thrust forward, slipping upward and getting a mumbled "ouch" out of Giorno. He winced and slipped back down enough to press into him now. He was concentrating now on not messing up as he finally breeched him and slid easily inside. He shuddered as he felt the hot constriction on him.

"Damn," he huffed out as he started pulling back and pushing forward. Giorno would twitch and move when he slid inside then out, so obviously he was hitting that spot. He smiled and began to quicken his pace a little, holding Giorno's knees back and watching as he slipped in and out of him. Giorno leaned up and grabbed his face and planted a needy kiss on him. Narancia leaned down and began sucking at Giorno's collarbone and knew he was marking him, but he wanted to do it. He wanted Giorno to be marked like when Fugo left bruises on his hips. He leaned back up and started stroking Giorno in time with his thrusts and felt him edging closer and closer.

Narancia felt him go over and held still as he felt his body clamp down on him. It felt amazing, but it wasn't enough to bring him over the edge.

"Here, turn over," he said after he stopped clenching him so tightly. He pulled out and waited for him to do it.

Giorno looked confused but turned over on his stomach, almost hitting Narancia with his leg as he tried to move around in the limited space. Narancia grabbed his hips and slammed back into him. Giorno gasped out as he rocked into him faster and faster. He had never felt something so amazing in his life and he almost didn't want it to end. He couldn't last much longer though as he sped to his completion, feeling the wave crash into him as his hips stuttered. He held tight to Giorno, but he didn't think he'd bruise him much with his hands, if any. Finally, the waves stopped and he pulled out of him. Giorno flopped down onto his belly as soon as he let go of him.

Narancia pulled off the condom and tossed it into the small trash can by the bed. They had recently got that one just for this purpose. He then took his pajama top off and used it to wipe off his hands and Giorno. Giorno flinched when he touched him again and he smiled. He liked taking care of him. He then laid down beside him and started playing with his hair.

"You're wonderful, Giorno. I think I love you," he said finally.

Giorno turned his head over toward him and smiled. "I think I might love you, too," he said quietly.
