Here we are, at the probably third to last chapter of Learning of the Past. Once again, really, really, really sorry for the delay. I hope you guys enjoy this. If there is anything confusing in this chapter, let me know through the reviews. Hopefully, I'll cover up any confusion in the next chapter.

Constructive criticism is appreciated!

The iron door broke down as simply as any wooden door broken by zombies. Mitch had to admit, his sword did an impressive job in cutting straight through the iron. However, it felt old at the same time. It did not feel new, not enough to be a "wow!" In fact, it felt familiar, as if Mitch had seen this happen before...

Mitch's body stepped into Steve's home. His eyes automatically shot at the young players. Younger Mitch, Sky, SSundee, Jerome, Seto, and even Steve all backed against the opposite wall. He noticed that they all seem taller now. He quickly measured them by the sandstone blocks on the wall, and concluded that they all had reached their full, two-block tall player size. Welll, it was the fifth day; the update had arrived. However, that was not important anymore.

Fear were in the eyes of the now mature players that stared widely back at Mitch.

Mitch raised his diamond sword and gestured it to all of the players, as if choosing which one to attack first. It would an easy kill for most of the players. Only Steve had full diamond armor. A few of the others were wearing incomplete sets of armor, which was either chain or leather. Only Steve and Sky had diamond swords while the rest had iron. Jerome was clenching an iron axe. Even though Mitch no longer had his armor, he had a feeling that the young players could not even lay a finger on him. His PVP skills - the skills that Herobrine wanted for his deeds - and his enchanted sword could pwn them all.

"Oh god! Oh god!" Sky cried out. "We're so screwed now!"

"It's only one guy." Steve responded maturely with a few shudders of fear. He took a step forward Mitch.

"Yeah, a freaking...freaking ghost!" SSundee replied to support Adam's fear. "BC could be just like Herobrine! Here to screw us!"

"But it's still only one guy. There's six of us! If we all work together, we can outnumber BC." Steve pointed out. "Sure, killing him has odds against us. But we can fight our way out. We just have to work together."

Mitch saw all of the other young players' fear transform into light hope. Jerome was the first to lift up his iron axe. Mitch suddenly recalled Betty. He remembered when Jerome named his diamond axe. Most of her founding was credit to Jerome, but Mitch had helped Jerome spark the idea of naming Betty. Without young Mitch being best friends with Jerome, Betty would not exist. And that happened, when Mitch first noticed the time alter in the present.

After Jerome lifted up his weapon, the other young players did the same. Seto, who had been anything but positive, even went into a battle stance, sword pointing at Mitch and legs balanced and ready to run. Steve exchanged glances with young Mitch. The young BajanCanadian gave a nod and produced an iron sword out of his inventory. Then he looked at the older one, eyes narrowed in determination.

"Let's do dis." He exclaimed. As if on cue, all of the young players shouted a battle cry and charged at older Mitch.

BajanCanadian lifted up his own sword in defense. Steve and young Mitch's swords were the first to make contact with his sword. The three pressed against each other, trying to shove the other back. At first, Mitch had the advantage against Steve and his younger self. But then the other young players joined and pressed their blades and axe against Mitch's diamond sword. Pressure screeched in his tight knuckles and grip of his sword. His sword has a voice, and he swore he could sense it shrieking from the pain of the pressure.

His sword was forced closer to his face. Mitch winced at the pain that kept growing in his hands. However, once again, his possessed body could care less about the pain. He felt his body devote more energy to push the young players back, but it seemed useless. The young players kept pushing Mitch back.

Then finally, with a unified groan, the young players pushed Mitch off his feet. His sword slipped out of his grasp as he fell onto the sandstone floor. Though the force of the young players had shocked him, his consciousness sighed in relief that the battle was already over. The pain in his hands quickly vaporized like a cauldron's boiling water being poured into a cool lake.

He sensed the young players letting out a small cheer before sprinting out of Steve's house. At least they were safe. Even though Mitch felt no more hope, he was glad that they did not have to face him anymore. For now. He had a feeling Herobrine would make him hunt for even more players, for that was his time alter reward. He earned it...

Then, something sparked in the calm, but negative, pool of relief in Mitch's mind. Wait a minute...

He felt his body get up and retrieve his sword. He stepped outside. His younger self, Steve, and the other young players were nowhere in sight, but he did spot someone.

He saw Herobrine approaching him with a clearly pissed off expression. However, that was not the only thing he had brought. Herobrine had another person with him. That person had his neck wrapped around by Herobrine's arm and was struggling to get released.

As the two got closer, Mitch realized who the captive was. He was one of Notch's crew members. The one who had given him a guide when he first arrived to the new world. There was fear in the guide's blue eyes as he tried to escape Herobrine's grasp. But as he was brought closer to Mitch, his eyes landed on BajanCanadian and the fear in them transformed to disbelief and betrayal. Mitch recalled when he had first met this guy. The guide may had not been a helpful ally, but he did help Mitch stay in the new world. The guide received approval from Notch, being told that Mitch - BC - would be good and useful. Unfortunately, Notch's reasons never came true; all that was brought was the opposite. If the guide was confused, Mitch could understand why.

"I see that you have lost my little clone." Herobrine began to sneer at Mitch. "And apparently, your younger self befriended him, instead of what could have been your friends. It also seems that they're calling you BC again." The ghost chuckled. "Now here's the distance between you and that present you wanted. This is the begginning of the time alter."

Mitch tried to reach out for his body again, like what he did to snap out of his possession. However, it did not work. That freedom was probably warming up, but if he could control his body again, he would so punch Herobrine in the face. Yes, Mitch was a trigger, but Herobrine ultimately caused all of this.

"We'll worry about Steve and the others later." Herobrine continued. "I managed to squeeze out Notch's location out of this pathetic being." Herobrine gestured to the guide he held.

The guide began to stammer a response. "I...I wanted to. I didn't know if I could trust Notch anymore. If he is the bad guy, th-then he deserves it. He promised that everyone was going to be safe. But then he let B-BC come in."

"Hate to be a killjoy," Herobrine replied to his captive. "But Notch never promised anything to you or BC. It was just another act by me. On that day BC arrived into this world and you were looking for Notch, you actually ran into me. With a certain unique skill of mines, I confused you to thinking I was Notch. The Notch you wanted to seek the approval of BC for was actually me, disguised by that confusion. I approved BC into this new world. I apologize for faking a promise that BC would be useful in this world. Then again, if Notch did broke a promise...it would be the lie that he told to me and the others in the old world." Herobrine pulled out his pickaxe. He pointed one of its sharp ends to the back of the guide's neck. "Perhaps when you respawn, you can warn the others about us. BC and I. Make them afraid." With that, Herobrine stabbed the guide with his pickaxe. The guide gasped and his pupils shrank in pain.

Herobrine released his hold of the guide. The guide fell lifelessly on the ground, glowed red, and disappeared, leaving a trail of smoke.

"Now, where were we?" Herobrine looked up and met Mitch's gaze. "Oh yeah, now it's Notch's turn." He turned and gestured his pickaxe to a direction. "That coward is somewhere over there. Let's go." The ghost began to proceed and Mitch followed.

"Waaaiiiiiit a minute, Herobrine!" Mitch called out. He had control of his voice and he planned to use it to say what had just realized. He saw Herobrine silently grumbled and look back at BajanCanadian without stopping.

"What is it?" Herobrine demanded impatiently.

"So, let me get this straight." Mitch began. "You and your future self worked together to rearrange time, correct?"

"Yes."

"And you did that by leading me into the past and into this?"

"Yes."

"And this all happened when the present was suddenly rearranged, which caused me to go back in time."

"Yes."

"And your scheme revolves around time. So, in the future, the present will come - but altered - and my younger self - who is also altered from what I was - will live there."

"Yes. What's the point of all of this?" Herobrine growled.

"Well, I just realized something. For the time alter continue its rotation, young Mitch will have to go back in time. Just like what I did. So you and your future self can claim him, just like this time alter. So, if young Benja doesn't go back in time to do something, the time alter would be stopped."

"And?"

"Seeing that the time alter's working, how did you do that?"

"Do what?"

"Make young Mitch repeat the mistake I did? Go back in time to fix the present. Unlike me, he was clearly aware that he can't change the future nor the past. He agreed to live a life of isolation with Steve instead of fun with his friends. So he has no reason to go back in time to trigger the time alter. He can't change the past to get back friends that he never had. So how did you make him go back in time and repeat what I did?"

Herobrine paused and Mitch was forced into a pause as well. An impressed smirk formed on ghost's face.

"Nice observation." He replied. "You're right, it doesn't make sense that your younger self would repeat that same mistake that you did: travel back in time and walk into a trap. Of course, he needed some motivation to do such a risky thing. Well, for time to repeat the same mistake, it has to repeat the same cause. Here it is."

Herobrine presented his left hand, open and the palm facing upward. Then blue, experience point-like particles materialized and danced above his hand.

"When I died, this was one of the new powers I had gained." Herobrine explained. "I can alter, copy, and protect memories with this power. I used this power to trick that worker into thinking that I was Notch, allowing you into the new world so you can get that potion and sword. When you were unconscious after you drank that potion, I copied and took a sample of your memories. This orb here is your memories. Your memories of Jerome, Hunger Games, mini-games, and friends. Once it's your younger self's turn to continue the time alter, I'll use this to start it. I'll put your memories into him and they'll block out his altered ones. Then he would think just like you. Thinking that the present had suddenly changed. Then the misleading adventure would begin."

Mitch stared at the blue element in awe. That was it? That was what helped keep the time alter intact. Such a deadly power.

"Oh, and for your information, this was also used to protect your memories. Well, I did need some help of that irritating Time Sla - oh, nevermind. Just know that your memories were protected and that was how I got you to go to the past."

"What?" Mitch said outloud. His mind hit a dead end and a new path at the same time. He had wondered how he was the only one aware of the time alter in the altered present. Herobrine really was everywhere to make the time alter a success.

The blue orb dissolved and returned inside Herobrine's hand. "OK. Enough now." The ghost said. "I'm becoming impatient. Until I get my revenge on Notch, you will not interrupt me with your questions. Let's go."

Herobrine turned around and continued the direction towards Notch's claimed location. Mitch was forced to follow again. Mitch's consciousness sighed. After some complex lecture, he felt really pooped. His possessed body would do whatever work Herobrine wanted, so his conscious might as well mentally sit back and attempt to relax.

But then he spotted something.

Herobrine seemed to had too, for he had paused again.

"What the...?" Both ghosts remained still as they stared at what they had spotted.

In front of Herobrine and Benja, a few blocks away, were particles. Like the blue memory one, these spawned out of nowhere near the ground. The differences were that they were larger in quantity and a shade of dull red. In fact, those particles looked like redstone. Also unlike the blue memory orb, these red particles were multiplying in numbers and were dancing in their swarm.

Herobrine and Mitch stared at the mysterious redstone swarm, which was getting bigger and bigger. The swarm was also starting to shape from a random shape into a form. Whatever it was shaping into, it looked like a player, crouching down like some skillful ninja. After cramming tightly into that player form, the particles did another alien behavior: change color. Starting from the bottom of the form, the red particles morphed into black hues. After the whole form had been colored, Mitch then realized what the red particles were creating. No, not what. Who.

The person that spawned out of redstone looked up and glared at Herobrine. His cloak may shadow his face, but his green eye were strong enough to shine one obvious emotion: determination.

Lucky jumped out of his crouched position, pulled out a stone sword, and charged at Herobrine. Mitch could not turn his head to look directly at Herobrine, but he sensed Herobrine flinching for a moment but then blocking Lucky's sword with his pickaxe. Mitch saw Lucky took a step back and lowered down his weapon. Herobrine swung his pickaxe at Lucky. Lucky dodged, slided around Herobrine and faced Mitch. With his empty hand, the non-player pulled out a gray potion and a golden apple. He quickly threw it at BajanCanadian.

Mitch gasped as he was bombarded by a flash of gray bubbles. He brought up his hand to brush the potion effects out of his vision, but stopped midway when he realized he had control of his arm again. Potion of weakness! Golden apple! Mitch recalled what Seto had down to temporarily snap him out of his possession.

"Let's go!" Lucky exclaimed. He grabbed a surprised Mitch's arm and ran away with BajanCanadian following. Mitch quickly looked over his shoulder to see a growling Herobrine clenching his fists. "You..." Herobrine hissed as dangerously as a creeper. He seemed to be talking to Lucky. The monster then took a step forward, but paused when two more people teleported into the scene. They were Jeb and Dinnerbone.

"Herobrine." Mitch heard Jeb warned. "Put. The pickaxe. Down."

"You have to stop." Dinnerdone added. Mitch saw Herobrine growl at the two powerful people. It seemed that he was no longer interesting with Lucky and Mitch. For now.

Lucky was taking Mitch back to the temple where Herobrine retrieved the enchanted talking sword.

Stop! Mitch sensed the sword warn. This wasn't supposed to happen!

"Wait?! What?! What the hell just happened!" Mitch's voice exploded with confusion. He understood that Lucky had just freed him with the golden apple and potion of weakness. But why? As far as Mitch knew, Lucky did not trust him. How did that all change?

Once they arrived at the entrance of Herobrine's memorial, Lucky stopped running, turned around, and met Mitch's white eyes.

"And here, I thought I could leave the past behind. But no, it came back, and through the last person I'd expected." Lucky began as he searched through his inventory.

"What? English, please. I really don't want two people who won't tell me anything." Mitch replied.

"You're from the future."

With his reclaimed throat and mouth, Mitch gulped. His reclaimed heart leapt. "What? How did you know?"

"I was thinking about it." Lucky explained. "After you revealed your eyes, I saw the Time Slap in you. I knew you had something to do with my work back in the old world."

"Time what?" Mitch was even more confused now.

"Time Slap. It's red dots that appear on eyes." Lucky pointed at his own eyes. Mitch immediately noticed the red dots in those green eyes. He knew that he had seen them before when he first met Lucky. Those were also on Lightning and maybe even SSundee. He suspected a connection between them, but a Time Slap? What did a Time Slap do?

"I've always hated them." Lucky continued. "It's scary that whenever we did something with that crazy thing, someone gets Time Slapped. And their whole personality can be altered with time."

Time Slap? It altered personalities? Lightning had turned from tomboyish to shy when she had been...Time Slapped. SSundee had also became a bit nervous after his migraine. Mitch recalled the red dots in Lucky's eyes and his own eyes. What did the Time Slaps to do to them?

"But what does this have to do with you saving me?" Mitch questioned Lucky. "You used to, like, hate me."

"That was before I knew you were Time Slapped." Lucky replied. "After I did, I was wondering what that meant to me. How you were altered. What happened. So I went to research." The cloaked miner looked at the ruined entrance of Herobrine's memorial. "And I found out that you were from the future. I also found out that I have one mission left: to help you stop the time alter."

Mitch's mind melted. He had been confused by Herobrine's lecture about memories. He had thought he would never be so confused ever again. Lucky proved him wrong.

"What? What part of English can you not understand?" BajanCanadian voiced his frustrated confusion, taking a step closer to the temple. Lucky turned around, but did not seem to be focusing on Mitch.

"There's a reason why Notch accepted me into the new world." Lucky replied. "I used to work for Herobrine on this...project. But when the corruption arrived, I knew I had to stop the project before the corrupted got their hands on it. I told Notch about it. Like what he did to the giants, he sealed the project away from the public's eye. But this time, we made sure no one else knew about this removed project. Unfortunately, it seemed like Herobrine wouldn't give up on the project so easily. Nor his revenge."

"What project?" Mitch questioned. Lucky looked back at Mitch.

"The project that caused all of this." He answered. "Even before Herobrine was corrupted, he was a cold-hearted idol. He forced me into the project along with my friend, Jake, and others. We helped Herobrine gather countless amounts of redstone to craft his project. It took so long to succeed. And there were even some side effects that caused us to start all over. Even after we got it right, I was accidently Time Slapped...I can't remember what I was like before the project. Anyways, you should know this; Herobrine called the invention the Redstone-Ignited Time Flint and Steel. But it can be shorted into - "

"...RITFAS." Mitch breathed.

"Yes." Lucky replied. Mitch's thoughts solidified. RITFAS: Redstone-Ignited Time Flint and Steel. All this time, that name was the acronym of an item. But what did that have to do with...Wait...Redstone-Ignited - it has a crap ton of redstone, I assume. Mitch stared at the ground as he brainstormed. Redstone-Ignited...Time! RITFAS! It's more than just an acronym. It's...

"A time traveling device?" Mitch guessed outloud. He looked up again to meet Lucky's gaze.

In response, the miner pulled out an item. It was a rust-colored flint and steel. BajanCanadian automatically labeled it as RITFAS...was that the flint and steel that Lucky had held when the corrupted invaded?

Then he remembered the time alter. No, he remebered when he first realized about the time alter. It had happened in the present village where Seto had explained the time pearl to Sky. The ex-sorcerer had said something about the pearl being inspired by another, but dangerous, time-traveling item.

RITFAS was the original Time Pearl. The prototype time-travelling item.

"Before and during the corruption, RITFAS was kept secret." Lucky said. "But my friend Jake decided to turn it into Notch because he knew the corrupted could do dangerous things with it. I helped him escape Herobrine's land. I also helped by disposing Herobrine's notes and blueprints for RITFAS across Minecraft."

Mitch perked up in realization. He looked down again and patted his black hoodie. He found his inventory and pulled out the wrinkled paper he had found in the village. He showed it to Lucky, the side with the blurry RITFAS upwards.

"I know this." Lucky exclaimed. "This used be a sketch of RITFAS."

"Found it in a pond." Mitch said.

"Figures. Anyways, we don't have much time. I'm surprised Herobrine hasn't attacked us yet." The cloaked miner looked around. "So, a fake copy of RITFAS was in the memorial. But I convined Jeb to give me the real one back after finding out that you were Time Slapped. I used it to travel through time and I found out who you really are. And it seemed that Herobrine knew who you were too. I investigated and found out why you're here. Trying to stop a time alter but failed."

"But what about that Time Slap thing?" Mitch asked.

"Did you feel anything wrong with your head and later felt like something was wrong?"

"...Yeah, I did actually. In a sleep, the night before the time alter." Then Mitch recalled Herobrine explaining his memory spell. Did he mention a Time Slap involved with protecting Mitch's memories?

"I'm confused." Mitch continued. "How does it - " He gasped as he felt his body stiffen. He felt heat snaking inside his blood. Oh no, Herobrine's possession was kicking in again!

With his remaining freedom, Mitch looked at Lucky and saw that he was as surprised as well. The cloaked miner quickly pulled out another potion. This potion was bright green, like the color of an experience point. But it seemed too magical and lively to be just a Bottle o' Enchanting. Lucky tossed the potion at BajanCanadian.

All at once, the heat inside of him was extinguished. A cool feeling, like cold water, raced through his body instead, and it was refreshing. BajanCanadian also gasped from a sudden pain in his heart. But it did not feel like pain at the same time. It felt like his heart was growing and cheering.

"There." Lucky concluded.

"What did you do?" Mitch questioned.

"It's from Jeb. I didn't just only get RITFAS. Remember why Notch invited some of my kind into the new world?"

"...Respawn?"

Lucky nodded. "Turns out that you get respawning back through a potion. I managed to get one for you."

"Why?"

"Possession only works on non-respawning beings. Like golems. That potion you were forced to drink removed your respawning power so Herobrine could control you. So, giving you respawning back would - "

Mitch shifted his attention to his body, forgetting about the other time-traveler. He wiggled his fingers and shook his wrists. But this time, he felt freer than before. That respawning dominated Herobrine's possession!

BajanCanadian choked on his happiness. "Sweet..." He purred. "But why are you doing this?"

"That was why I saved you." Mitch returned his gaze - which was probably brown again because of the respawning - and saw Lucky holding the RITFAS towards Mitch. It seemed like he was offering Mitch to try it.

"I don't know why Herobrine hasn't caught up with us yet, but if you were still possessed by him, you'll never finish your mission. The new respawning is your second chance."

"Wait, my chance to...no."

"Yes." Lucky gestured RITFAS more towards Mitch. "I've seen your life. I found out who you are. But I also found out how you can stop the time alter."

Mitch grabbed the time-travelling flint and steel and stared at it in awe. The moment he touched it, he felt an energy hum from his hands and into his arms. That was just like how the time pearl felt. However, RITFAS lacked a smooth surface and charming appearance, compared to the time pearl. The flint and steel had a rough texture from all of the redstone that was on, not inside, the item.

"You're helping me stop the time alter?" Mitch never saw this coming. The cranky miner, who Mitch suspected as a threat, who was actually a former worker for a time-traveling project, was helping BajanCanadian complete his goal. "But why couldn't you do it? You were time travelling to find out more about me."

"I think it'll be easier for you to do it. Because the key to stop the time alter is you." Lucky answered. "I travelled into the future to wrap up my investigations and I saw you going after this enderpearl that somehow took you to the future."

"The time pearl? Oh yeah! I was going to...umm, borrow it to stop the time alter. But now, it turns out to be my..." Mitch's eyes widened in realization. "If I stopped myself from travelling into the past, none of this will happen!"

"Exactly. That's where you come in. I'm not likely to convince your younger self, but you can." Lucky pulled out a TNT. "You have to go on your own. But using RITFAS is easy." The cloaked time-traveler placed the explosive down and took a few steps back from it. "Ignite the TNT with RITFAS as you think about what time period you want to travel to. When the TNT explodes, the explosion will take you to that time period." Lucky threw a few TNT blocks towards Mitch, who caught them. "Here are extras, just in case."

Mitch looked back down at the RITFAS. OK, this was the moment he was waiting for. To stop the time alter. This time, his once-absent hope glowed bright. This time, this had to work.

Mitch looked at the RITFAS again and saw that it had a durability - dull green and halfway used. Wow, how many times had this been used? Despite the low durability, that meant that the RITFAS was reusable! So, as long as BajanCanadian had TNT, he could always travel through time. If he did something wrong with his mission, he could just go deeper back in time and start over. Nice!

Suddenly, Mitch noticed that the RITFAS's durability lowered down a bit, the green becoming more duller. Mitch lifted an eyebrow. He did not use the flint and steel yet. How did it suddenly decrease in durability?

...if the RITFAS' strength was weakening, then Mitch should get his job done as soon as possible. Before the RITFAS somehow loses all of its durability.

"Thank you so much." Mitch looked back up at Lucky and the placed TNT. "Really wish I can repay you." With that said, he looked down out at the TNT block. Take me to the night I went to steal the time pearl, Mitch thought as he ignited the TNT.

"You're going to stop Herobrine's evil scheme. That's your repayment for me." Lucky said over the TNT's hisses. After a second, Mitch saw Lucky perk up, as If he realized something.

"Oh! And don't overuse RITFAS, not even for a few times! If you do, it will - "

BOOM!

Mitch gasped as he was swallowed up by a rusty red storm. The redstone-colored particles engulfed Lucky, Herobrine's memorial, and everything else in the desert. Mitch was alone in a storm of chaotic redstone particles. It was like a red void and a red Nether portal. Speaking on Nether portals, Mitch could no longer stare at this storm with full concentration. His vision was starting to spin with nausea.

Just as a light headache spawned inside BajanCanadian, the red storm slowed down, reducing to a red sky disturbed by light breezes. Mitch forced his head up to observe the now calm rusty scenery.

Then the red sky began to disintegrate. Starting at what seemed to be the top, the redstone particles collapsed onto each other. It reminded Mitch the way the gigantic walls in Walls fell. That redstone "wall" eventually vanished and revealed a desert shrouded in a dark night.

Mitch tried to blink and shake the migraine out of his head, which was lessening slowly. He growled in frustration with a final shake and then looked up. With a clear head, Mitch observed his surrounding. He felt laggy because it was difficult to smoothly turn around and observe the land. The lag eventually wore off though.

BajanCanadian widen his eyes when his eyes fell onto a temple. Herobrine's memorial! Mitch quickly jerked his eyes away to search for Lucky or any players. He spotted the location of the player-built village, but found no complete houses. The buildings were lacking blocks and doors. There were even hints of a TNT explosion near one house. Then Mitch spotted something on the ruined buildings. Vines, slithering down to the sand, as if bored by their loneliness. That meant one thing.

This was the future, where those houses were abandoned with vines to freely grow on them. RITFAS had worked. Now to do the next step: to stop himself from travelling back in time.

Mitch recalled those player-made villages, but after a moment, he realized that this was the new world. Well, it's probably old now. He silently chuckled to himself for a quick joke. Now, he needed to find his younger self. He dug into his memories as he turned his gaze to the moon. If his memories were correct, his younger self should be walking in the woods by now. But where were those woods?

BajanCanadian closed his eyes shut and went deeper into his memories. Then he widen in eyes in realization. The old world.

Mitch turned to his right and saw a forest biome. That was the where the portal to the older world was located. Mitch dashed out of the desert, heading to the trees. Yes! Now he remembered! The old world - a victim of corruption and war - was the home of him and his friends all along! BajanCanadian's new knowledge and vague memories of his childhood pieced together. The new players had matured and eventually left the desert that was protected by Notch. In his unaltered life and past, Mitch had stayed with Jerome as they had left the desert and moved to a cooler biome. They knew that some player went to live in other servers and world, but Mitch and Jerome continued living in the same old world. They had survived and played happily in their new home, a Hunger Games arena. They had even opened their home invitingly to the players who had still lived in the old world and visiting players.

When Team Crafted had visited Mitch and Jerome, that was when the two had decided to leave the new world and to the Team's world. Mitch had never suspected that Team Crafted's home was in the old, formerly corrupted world. Team Crafted and other players must had rebuilt and rejuvenated it after all of the old miners had died off.

How did that realization not come to him sooner?! Mitch was about to get lost in his thoughts, but then fished himself out of it and continued sprinting towards the portal. For now, the memory only meant that younger Mitch was close by. Mitch had to get his job done before young Benja starts it.

Mitch arrived at the ravine. He peeked down and took a step back. It was a hell lot wider than the last seen he had seen it in the past. Well, seemed like someone had been mining. Mitch turned his gaze to the side and saw that there was no more ladder, but a manmade waterfall. Well, it still meant a safe way down.

"Geronimooooooo!" Mitch cried as he jumped off the edge and into the ravine. He was caught into the waterfall at the midway point. He slowly floated down into the ravine. Mitch was about to trudge out until he saw his reflection in the water. White eyes. He still had them even after getting back his respawn? Mitch quickly shook the thought out of his head before he could get lost in it. Who cared? He was not possessed anymore. Plus, it was not unusual for Mitch to encounter white-eyed player who did not act like Herobrine. Noahcraft was not possessed nor worked for Herobrine. The same was for Mitch.

Mitch sprinted into the dark cavern that hid the portal. He noticed two new paths mined into the sides of the cave, but straight ahead, he spotted the glow of the portal. He walked up to the light. Soon, he found himself under the ocean blue light. He looked up and saw the portal above him, on the ceiling. The portal was made out of water and looked like the last time he had saw it. And wow! it was amazing and beautiful to see water like this: glowing and defying gravity. BajanCanadian wished he could have a spare hour to admire it, but he was on a mission.

Should I jump? Mitch thought of a way to get up into the portal. His first idea could work. Mitch crouched down, and held his breath, just in case. Then he sprung into the portal. BajanCanadian went through the portal without feeling a drop of water at first. But soon, icy water bit at him.

Mitch quickly surfaced for a breath and a "Holy shit! That's cold!" He found himself in a bright pool of water. He quickly swam to the dry stone land that he spotted. He climbed up shivering. He was more surprised by his still functioning freezing brain than what he had just realized. His realization was that this was the portal pool of the old world. He weakly looked up and around and saw nothing but a stone ceiling and walls. Of course, the portal was hidden inside a mountain.

He remembered all of that. But where was the way out again?

BajanCanadian got back on his feet, not caring about his cold now. He knew that the quickest exit was on a wall, but which area? He began to walk across the dark, quiet hallway, hoping to find a quick way out soon before -

"Oof!"

Mitch did not have time to gasp as he felt a force bring him down again. His back was shocked by whatever fell on him, like when Mitch touched another person from the past. That potion he had drank stopped those shocks in the past, but now it seemed that the future was shocking.

Mitch silently hissed and looked up to see what fell on him. He found out that the what was actually a who. A player.

"Oh, sorry bro." The unknown player apologized as Mitch felt him roll off him.

"I was just mining down to get to the diamond level and - " The player stopped talking and his face paled when Mitch looked up to meet his now frightened eyes.

"You're...you're..." The player stammered. "BC! Ahh!" The miner sprinted away and deeper into the hallway as BajanCanadian got up again. Mitch stood there dumbfounded until that player's words finally sank into him.

Oh yeah. The time alter created BC. Mitch told himself. Herobrine's sidekick. Helps spread fear. Basically a Herobrine Number Two and - BajanCanadian perked up with a sudden idea that could help him escape this mountain. BC is Herobrine Number Two. I'm Herobrine Number Two. OK, I know I hate this but...let's see what BC can do. Herobrine can teleport, so maybe... BajanCanadian squeezed his eyes shut, thinking about fresh air, moonlight, and being outside. Then he opened them and looked down at his left hand. He snapped his fingers and watched his hand glow white. The white then consumed him and his sight.

When the white faded away, he was greeted by a starry sky. He looked behind his shoulders and saw the extreme hill he was trapped in behind him.

Mitch's prediction was that if he had gone throughout Herobrine's transformation, then he must had gained the same powers Herobrine had. Turned out it was true for the teleportation powers.

Mitch grinned and looked back down at his left hand. If he could teleport outside...

He inhaled a deep breath. And imagined himself, trekking through a forest. He snapped his fingers and let the white consume him again.

After being able to see again, BajanCanadian looked around and saw trees, trees, and trees. Then he caught a glimpse of a moving figure in diamond armor. Mitch took a step closer, but still hidden in the trees, and saw his normal self walking through the forest. Wearing diamond armor over a red-and-black hoodie and his brown eyes keen. This was Mitch as he was heading to Seto's house to steal the time pearl. Heading to the trigger of the time alter. He had to be stopped.

BajanCanadian bit his lips as he watched his younger self continue through the forest. How could he get himself to turn back? He could walk right up to his younger self and be forthright, but he also had to maintain a non-threatening performance. He did not want his younger self to end up not trusting him.

Mitch was about to take another step forward until he heard grass rustling behind him. Someone was coming! He did not know what would happen if he were caught. Mitch quickly dove behind a birch tree to the left of him. He peeked out slightly to see who was coming near. His eyes widen when he spotted the newcomer walking beneath the tree's shadows.

It was himself. But it was not younger Mitch. This Benja had an ink black hoodie that did not match with his bright eyes. It was BC. The time-altered Mitch.

Mitch watched BC approach closer to younger Mitch without leaving the shadow's of the trees. Soon, BC went into a shifting position and paused about five blocks away from young BajanCanadian.

"Don't do this." BC whispered. The older Mitch turned his attention from BC to his younger self, who jerked up and stopped walking by the sound of BC's voice. Younger Mitch began to look around, but did not seem to notice the hidden BC, who continued to watch younger Mitch.

The older Mitch's eyes widened. He remembered his walk through the forest. He had heard a voice say "Don't do this." BC was the one who said that. Older Mitch's mouth widened in awe. "Don't do this" was actually telling him to give up the time pearl, therefore ceasing the time alter. BC knew that Mitch could stop the time alter by not going after it. He was trying to hint that...but without revealing himself? Why?

The older Mitch continued to watch BC. BC then later looked over his shoulder, but not at older Mitch. BC murmured something that Mitch could not hear, but it seemed like his mouth shaped "Yes, Herobrine." BC turned his body around and reluctantly headed back into the darker shadows of the forest. The older Mitch looked back at his younger self and saw that he had given up on searching for BC's voice and continued to walk through the forest. The older Mitch knew this very well, but he now knew even more after spectating the "Don't do this" voice.

"You can't change this, Mitch." Mitch's sword threatened. He had forgotten that he still had it. "Herobrine won't allow it." Mitch tightened his grip on the sword, as if that would choke a warming into the sword. But then something clicked in his brain and he looked down at the enchanted sword. This sword could cut through iron doors. He remembered what had happened when he stole the time pearl. Seto's iron door was destroyed, letting mobs into the house. Destroyed by...

Mitch eyes widened with a feeling that he had felt when he first saw this sword: amazement and horrifying wonder. This sword was the one that cut through the iron door! BC must had used it since he was also a time-altered Mitch. The unconfident "don't do this" had not helped Mitch turn back from the time pearl, but slicing Seto's door had scared the crap out of him. Seemed like that threat was actually a desperate warning to save Mitch all along.

...And Mitch would make sure that those warnings were set in stone in his younger self's mind. He had no idea why BC was being so quiet and not blunt, but Mitch was willing to do the dirty work to stop the time alter.

Mitch took a few more steps closer to his younger self. He quickly looked back for any sights of BC, but he was nowhere in sight. Where was BC? Mitch despised seeing BC as himself, but really, how could BC be less assertive than him? They were the same people with the same goal after all.

Mitch brushed his questions off and began to lightly run across the forest to catch up with his younger self. Later, he slowed his pace when he caught sight of the younger BajanCanadian. They were not far from Seto's house now, but not close enough to probably be noticed by the ex-sorcerer. Mitch decided that this was the perfect place to step out now. He did not think out how to change the present, but he knew that he did not want Seto or anyone else to become involved.

Now! BajanCanadian jumped out of the trees' shadows and sprinted towards his younger self. "Stop!" He also called out. He saw his younger self jump in surprise and turn around to meet Mitch's white gaze. Younger Mitch's brown irises shrank as he gasped, but stayed where he was. The older Mitch charged at his younger self, pinning him to a tree, both hands planted onto his younger self's shoulders. The time shock exploded in his hands and he slightly winced, but refused to let go.

"Whoa!? What the?! Who?! What?! Bleh?! What's going on?!" Young Mitch exploded with questions. Older Mitch knew that his interruption was too much, but that was mixture of Hunger Games instinct and extreme desperation.

"Don't do this, dood!" Mitch shouted to his younger self, quoting BC, but more assertive. "You can't go back to the past!"

"Wait, what!" Young Mitch stopped struggling and his eyes widened in surprise. "You mean, you know? Who are you? Wait...are you..."

"...Yes." Mitch admitted. "I'm you, from the future...who actually came from the past...but it's still the future, except it isn't because - ah! Never mind! Just-just don't go back in time! It's a trap!"

A cold chuckle shivered an interruption. "Indeed it was, Mitch." Mitch loosen his grip on his younger self, reducing the time shock, and looked over his shoulder. He was Herobrine limp out of the forest's shadow.

"Shame you were able to escape it." Herobrine began. "But no worries. I have the power of time and memories by my side. I can just make a few adjustments and make sure your rebellious nature had never interfered this moment." Herobrine pulled out what seemed to be flint and steel. Then Mitch realized it was RITFAS. But did he have that? No, his and Herobrine's RITFAS's were the same item. Just in different time periods, Herobrine's being the older one while Mitch's was younger. Could that explain the decreasing durability on the RITFAS even when it was not used? Perhaps Herobrine drained some of its energy using his RITFAS, which was deeper in time than Mitch's. Whatever was wasted on Herobrine's RITFAS was recorded onto Mitch's.

...Herobrine said he had travelled through time to create the time alter. It never really occurred to Mitch how he had done it. Had Herobrine use RITFAS for his plan? Was that why the durability was already halfway done?

"I escaped that fight Jeb and Dinnerbone gave me." Herobrine explained. "But I used RITFAS to travel out of it, trying to find you. I knew that whatever happened, I cannot let you undo my work."

"Correction: our work."

Mitch and his younger self both gasped as they saw someone join Herobrine out of the shadows. The newcomer looked exactly like the ghost...It was Herobrine.

"Yes, our work." The original Herobrine agreed. Then he gestured to the second Herobrine. "Meet my future self. This time era's Herobrine. You'll get to know him more as he keeps you two occupied while I go back in time and reverse your mess." The second Herobrine pulled out a diamond pickaxe and slowly approached the two Mitch's while the first one placed a TNT block on the ground...
