Chapter Nine
Case File Two – Where Are You?
Part Three
Harry walked into the base room after breakfast and sat down at the table. Lin had already sat down at the monitors to check see if anything has happened while they were at breakfast. Nothing had so they all looked to Kazuya to see what they should be doing next? The young boss looked at them all and thought for a few moments.
"Mai, I would like you to spend the day with Hideki. I want you to keep an eye on him, see if there are any interactions with the spirit." he said as he looked to Mai who was sat next to Harry.
"Erika told me that he would be in his playroom, she also teaches him for a while" Mai told her boss of what Mrs Sasaki had told her when the woman showed her the bedrooms.
"Very well, stay in the background when she is teaching him, but the rest of the time watch over him, play with him even. This spirit doesn't seem to be interacting with anyone else," Kazuya said softly, nodding his head slowly.
"That could be dangerous for Mai," Harry told Kazuya with a slightly worried look on his face.
"That is true," he started to say.
"I'll be fine," Mai insisted as she spoke up.
"I think we shall leave you at a distance," Kazuya said and then turned to the others, "Anyone monitoring will make sure to keep an eye on the playroom camera, or any where Mai is. If the temperature, or anything goes on in that room, I want Lin told and I want you to go to her immediately." He added as he finished talking.
"All right," Lin nodded as he turned back to the screens. "The child is in his playroom alone at the moment." He then added.
"I'll go now then," Mai smiled as she got up and then left the room at Kazuya's nod.
"For the rest of us, I think another walk around, and this time I will be going with you Harry." Kazuya then said as he turned to face the other teen.
"All right, I didn't get chance to finish off the walk around last night." Harry grinned a little.
"I'll watch on the monitors, and try and stay in line of sight." Lin said as he looked to the two of them, he didn't look happy about Kazuya going off.
"We'll do our best." Harry nodded as the two of them then walked out of the room. And started a walk through of the house.
XxXxX
Harry and Kazuya started up the stairs; they had done a full walk through of the basement, and the ground floor. As they reached the landing Harry began to sway a little. He grabbed hold of the railings to steady himself for a moment. There was so much anger coming through from the spirit.
"Naru, the temperature has dropped in the playroom, heading there now." Came Lin's voice over the walkie-talkie that Kazuya was hold, he would be taking the back staircase, and not the main one that they were on.
"We'll join you." He replied as he turned to look at Harry and frowned when he saw the state he was in. "Harry?" he questioned.
"We need to get there now," he replied, shaking himself and bringing up his shields as best as he could, which was doing much to help. He truly needed to build them up properly, instead of the weak shields he had used for so long. It had been almost torture for him while he was at Hogwarts, he was just thankful that the ward around the school helped empaths should they enter the school, by absorbing nearly all of the emotions from the students and staff, as well as the ghost and house elves. Though part of his problem had been Snape and his way of teaching Occlumency, it had ruined any natural shield he had built up over the years.
Kazuya gave him another look and the two of them quickly made their way towards the playroom, before they even got close they head a scream. It belonged to Mai. The two ran, as they saw Lin enter the room. The two of them were soon entering the room as well.
Mai was over to one side with a small cut on her check, with Hideki curled up in her arms. Lin was now looking around the room. Harry could no longer feel the sudden rush of anger that had entered the room, it was gone and the spirit was back in the basement.
"What happened?" Kazuya asked Mai as he knelt down next to them.
"I was playing with Hideki, next thing I know it starts going cold, like in the basement yesterday. Then something flew at me and Hideki was saying 'leave her alone she was playing with me' and then something else came at me and Lin came in and then the temperature went back to normal." Mai told them, her voice shaky and Harry didn't need to be an empath to know that she was scared.
"Why don't you and Hideki come back to the base room and we'll see about getting some tea for us all, I think it will help you a little Mai." Harry said as he looked to Kazuya.
The other nodded as he turned to Lin for a moment. Mai stood up, Hideki now resting on her hip as she walked to the base room. It was at that point that Erika had joined them as well as her husband. He sat them down and told them what happened, and that he was going to make some tea for everyone so that they could talk to Hideki a little and see what he had heard, since he had heard and reacted to something other that what Mai had seen.
"I'll make tea and get some juice for Hideki," Erika said as she stood up and walked out of the room. Harry could feel the nervousness and fear that surrounded the poor woman.
They waited in silence for the woman to come back with the drinks. It didn't take too long and along with her came Lin and Kazuya. They all sat down, with Harry and Mai taking centre point once again to talk with Hideki. Lin sat with his laptop open, while Kazuya went to the monitors and watched over them.
"Hello again Hideki," Harry smiled to him as the young child settled down on his mothers lap.
"Hello," he smiled at him, "thank you for bring Koji back," he then thanked Harry.
"It was no problem." He smiled, "I remember yesterday when I talked with you about what's going on, and well I need to do it again. Is that all right?" he asked softly.
Hideki nodded his head and murmured, "yes."
"Well, I just want to know what happened in the play room, what you saw and heard." Harry told his softly.
Hideki nodded his head once again and told Harry, "I was playing with Mai and then he came and told me off. I didn't want to listen to him because he took Koji. Then his threw a toy at Mai, and it hit her. I didn't like so I shouted at him, he did it again and I don't want to play with him any more."
Harry could tell that the little boy was feeling a little sad that his playmate was hurting a new friend. "Thank you Hideki, so you could hear what he was telling you?"
"Yes sir, he was telling me that I was bad because I was playing with Mai." He replied.
"Okay Hideki, thank you for telling me that. You can go and play if you want to now." Harry smiled as he then turned to the parents. "Thank you for being with him and for letting me talk with him so soon."
Ryouta and Erika nodded their heads to the young teen before them and then took Hideki out of the room, taking their drinks with them. Lin shut down his laptop and everyone came to sit in the chairs and sofa so they could drink their tea and talk.
"So what do we think?" Harry asked his boss.
"Well, so far all we have is something thrown at Mai and a voice on the recording when something happened in the basement yesterday. They had all been centred around Hideki." Kazuya said as he thought for a moment.
"Could it be the same thing as what happened with Kuroda?" Mai asked as she looked at them all, "you know, P.K?"
"I don't think it is, but it wouldn't hurt to check." Kazuya nodded, "you've learned something Mai." He said to her.
"We should do it before tonight then, if it isn't Hideki then we still have work to do," Harry nodded his head before Mai could do anything, since she was moment away from ranting at their boss and maybe giving him a well deserved punch.
"I will talk with the parents and tell them that there is something that we need to do, I will tell them no details, except that it does no harm." Kazuya said as he stood up and left the room to do just that.
Lin also stood up and went back to the monitors without a single glance at the two of them. He was still distant with them both and Harry could feel that the other wasn't going to be starting any type of friendship with them. Harry and Mai stood up, knowing that they would be all right in doing a little of their school work now before they needed to set something up to see if Hideki was able to use P.K.

Ryouta, his wife and young son were now all sat on the sofa in the main living room. Before them was a small lamp, giving off a red glow as it slowly faded in and out. Kazuya was talking to them slowly. Telling them to breath in time with the lamp.
"Tonight the vase in my hand will move," he instructed them, all of it going to their subconscious mind.
They watched as all three of them stared at the vase in Kazuya's hand. They had taken the instruction in. Kazuya turned the light on, breaking them all out of the trance they had been in.
He turned to them all and said, "thank you, you can do as you wish."
"Right," Ryouta said a little confused, but then left the room. His wife following behind him, only stopping for a moment to tell them that dinner will be ready in half hour.
"Right, Harry you know to go and set up the vase in here, make sure when done that the doors to this room are sealed off. I want a camera in here as well of course." Kazuya said as he turned to Harry, "Mai," he then said as he turned to the young girl, "you can help him."
"Right boss," she grinned at him as Harry and Mai set about grabbing two of the last cameras they had.
Harry set it up as he saw his boss and his co-worker go back to the base room. He went over to the table and drew a circle around the vase that they would be using. He then set up one of the cameras so that it would be able to see both the doors into the room. He then set up the other one to focus mainly on the vase, and that it would be able to capture if it was moved by anything. They had chosen a vase since it would be something that the child spirit wouldn't play with or touch in anyway.
Mai helped him as he set up the door seals, so that if anyone went into the room they would rip, no matter what. The two then made their way back to the base room. Kazuya was once again reading through something and Lin at the monitors. Kazuya looked up and then went back to his book as Mai and Harry sat down.
"Harry you have the midnight to four watch, Lin will take over after that." Kazuya said without looking up again as the other two nodded their heads.
"All right," Harry nodded as he and Mai settled in to do a little homework before everyone else went to bed.
"Want me to stay with you tonight?" Mai asked his quietly.
"No, that's all right, I don't mind doing it on my own." He smiled to her.
Mai looked at him and asked, "Are you sure?"
Harry smiled at her and replied, "Yeah, I'm sure."
Mai nodded her head and then settled back to their biology coursework.
XxXxX
It was almost four in the morning when Harry first saw the spirit child wandering through the hallways. He was going from room to room and opening the doors and looking inside. Only to look even sadder when he came from the room and carried on. Harry wondered a little about what the child was searching for.
Harry wrote down the time and which camera he first appeared on. He also turned up the sound hoping that he would be able to catch something on them. He monitored as the little boy went off one camera and onto another camera. He was now going into Hideki's room. The spirit walked over to the bed and the covers flew off Hideki. Harry was glad that the parents had decided to have him in their room for the night.
"Where?" came a sad voice over the speakers.
Harry looked down briefly as he made a note of the time and which microphone it came from. Harry looked on sadly as the spirit made its way out of the room and through the other corridors once again. Not bothering to go into any more of the rooms. Harry could hear crying as the spirit stood in the middle of the hallway, and then he disappeared.
Harry had felt nothing but sadness and loneliness coming for them spirit as it wandered the halls. Harry made a number of notes down about what happened. Harry was finishing up when the door to the room opened up behind him. Harry turned around and nodded as Lin walked into the room.
"Anything happen?" Lin asked as he stepped towards the monitors.
"Yeah, the spirit was wondering the halls, going into almost every room and then leaving. He went into Hideki's room and moved the covers off the bed. He did cry a little, but not loud. He's gone, only just though." Harry answered the other as he stood up.
"Anything in the living room?" he then asked as he sat down on the chair Harry had vacated.
Harry shook his head, "no movement on that at all, I wrote the times and which cameras down when things happened." He replied. "Good night." Harry smiled as he went to his room for some sleep. Harry knew that they would be talking about what happened in the morning and he knew that Mai would find it shocking and amazing as well as something to fear. He was hoping that she would be a little less fearful soon. It was fine to be afraid, but he knew that it had paralysed her from doing anything in the playroom.
Harry walked into the bedroom he had been assigned during his stay and quickly changed to go to bed. He knew that it wouldn't be long until he was fast asleep.
XxXxX
Harry and the others were once again sat around the base room. Breakfast had been a few moments ago, and they had checked all the feeds for while they were away.
"Anything happened last night?" Mai was the one to ask, since she had gotten up last.
"Yes, the spirit was wandering around the corridors, going into the rooms. The video of it is set up so we can watch them if we wish to." Kazuya said as he looked at Harry, "What was your impression from the spirit?"
Harry looked at his boss and replied, "Well, I could tell that each time he went into a room he would come out looking sadder than when he went inside. I think he was searching for something. When he went into Hideki's room he pulled the covers off the bed and he spoke at that point only. When he was in the hallway after that he cried for a few moments and the disappeared. It was like he was looking for something, or maybe even someone."
"That is a possible, we will need to know more about this spirit." Kazuya nodded his head.
"What about the experiment?" Mai then asked, eagerly awaiting the answer.
"No activity at all in the living room." Lin spoke this time as he looked to them. "We did have a little something in the basement at around five o'clock." He then added.
"What happened?" Harry asked, wondering if the spirit was now showing himself down there.
"Crying was heard in the basement for an hour and then it stopped." He replied.
"The hallways and the play room seem to be the main focus, but he had been in the basement a lot as well," Harry said as he listened to his co-worker.
"Lets do another walk through the house, we never finished in the end. This time we will start at the top." Kazuya instructed as he looked at everyone.
"You and I again, Kazuya?" Harry smiled in question.
Kazuya nodded his head and then turned to Lin, "Lin, stay here and keep an eye on things, Mai I would like you to be with Hideki again. This time I would like it if you could keep his away fro the playroom. Take him outside if you can," he told them all.
"All right, I'll go and see to him now." Mai smiled as she stood up and went to find Hideki and Erika, the young teen had no doubt that the woman was keeping a very close eye on her son at the moment and moat likely wouldn't let him out of her sight any time soon.
Harry and Kazuya then stood up leaving Lin in the room on his own. Harry couldn't help but wonder what the two of them did before Mai and himself started working for them. How would it have worked with just the two of them. It was something that he wonder a little about, since this case had begun. He looked outside and smiled a little, it was Beltane and he would be giving put the small presents he had gathered to the other a little later, he tonight after dinner would be the best time.
The two of them walked into the second floor hallway, one of their cameras was at the end of the hallway, aimed towards them. Harry looked to Kazuya, who was looking at the door of the playroom. He then turned and went to Hideki's bedroom. Harry followed him and the two of them walked inside. The blankets that hade been ripped off the bed were still on the floor nothing had been disturbed from what had happened during the night.
"We've seen nothing else but the child come in here last night, other than that there is nothing else." Kazuya murmured as he looked around the room.
"I don't think this place has much meaning other than the place where his friend sleeps." Harry agreed as he looked around as well and tried to see of he could feel where the spirit was hiding at that moment. "I think the main place of interest is the playroom, but again that is mainly because Hideki is there, not because it has any significance to what is going on," Harry added as he felt the spirit within the playroom down the hall.
Kazuya nodded, and the two of them walked out of the bedroom and into the hallway, passing one camera and into the sights of another. They opened the door to the Playroom and looked around, toys were scattered on the floor and nothing had been disturbed since yesterday when Mai was attacked. Harry went over to one side of the room and looked out the window, he could see Mai, Hideki and Erika our in the back garden playing.
Harry stopped looking put the window and turned towards the room, the spirit of the child was closer now. The temperature started to drop and the two of them were now able to see their breath as they breathed out.
"Lin, the temperature has dropped," Kazuya reported.
The toys around them started to move, soon they were all lifted into the air, a good foot or two off the ground. They shot from where they were towards the two of them, hitting them on occasions as they did their best to dodge them all.
"Naru, I'm getting a voice coming through, you both need to get out of there, the spirit is territorial over that room." Lin's voice came over the walkie-talkie.
"Lets get out," Kazuya nodded as he and Harry went to the door.
Harry took hold of the handle and froze, the spirit was right behind him, Harry could tell the spirit was angry with them, and wanted them to leave. The young wizard shook his head a little and opened the door. The two of them left the room and ad soon as the two of them were out of the room the door slammed shut behind them.
"Let's go back to base room and see what happened in full." His boss said, as Harry nodded his head and the two of them went back to base.
The two walked back into the base room and went over to the cameras, Lin had already brought up the recording of what had happened in the playroom.
The three of them watched as Kazuya and Harry entered the room, with Harry going over to the window and looking out. They also spotted a small figure standing in the middle of the room, watching Harry. It was the child's spirit, Harry had to wonder why the child was watching him. Then as Harry looked into the room the child walked closer to Harry for a moment.
"Who are you? Where is otouto?" came the quiet voice of the spirit.
Neither Harry nor Kazuya could hear the spirit talk to them and ask them anything.
"Lin, the temperature has dropped," Kazuya voice came through the speakers.
"I'm Tetsuya," the spirit tried again to get them to talk to him.
When neither Harry nor Kazuya responded it was then the spirit started to become angry. "Why wont you answer me!" he yelled as the toys started to lift up from the floor.
"If you don't talk then go away!" the spirit shouted as the toys started to fly towards Harry and Kazuya.
"Naru, I'm getting a voice coming through, you both need to get out of there, the spirit is territorial over that room." Lin's voice came over the walkie-talkie.
"Lets get out," Kazuya then spoke up.
The on screen Harry walked over to the door and went for the handle, the three of them watched as he froze for a split second before the young teen shook his head and opened the door. Lin and Kazuya looked to Harry for a moment, wondering a little of why he froze in the room.
"Why wont they talk to me," came a sad and desolate voice from the speakers.
Everyone looked back to the screen to see a small spirit of a child in the middle of the room. He was crouched down, huddled. The toys were now back lying around the floor of the playroom. Moments later the spirit vanished from screen.
"Well, we know his name now and he is looking for his little brother, do you think that he means Hideki?" Harry said as Lin and Kazuya turned to him.
Kazuya nodded his head and then spoke, "He might be, we'll need to research him, the local Library would usually have information about people that have lived here."
"Right, the library isn't that far from here, within easy walking distance." Harry nodded his head.
"I think Mai should go with you, she maybe able to help with the search." His boss then told him, "I will get the family to stay out of the playroom for now."
"Right, I'll go get Mai," Harry said as he then walked out of the room to get Mai and head to the library.
XxXxX
Mai and Harry entered the local library and went over to the information desk. An elderly looking woman was sitting at the desk, reading through one of the many books that were within the library. Harry and Mai waited until she looked up and them.
"Hello, what can I do for you?" she asked them with a small bow.
"Hi, we are looking for information about one of the houses down the road. We were wondering where that information would be kept," Harry asked her with a small bow and smile.
"That would be over in records, in the small side room, not many wish to know the history of the area." She said as she then put a bookmarker within her book and showed them the way.
"Thank you very much," Mai bowed to her in respect.
"Don't worry, please make sure to keep things tidy. Everything is organised by street name," She said and then left the two of them alone, letting the two of them find the information they needed.
Harry went over to one drawer unit and looked through them. He soon found information on past owners of the house, along with their families. He turned around to Mai and smiled. Bringing over the files he had found.
"Well, information about owners going back a good three hundred years," Harry said as he set a few down in front of her, "you look through some and I will. Just look for the name Tetsuya." He told her.
"Why?" Mai asked him as she looked at him with an annoyed air hanging around her, "You haven't told me anything that is going on at all, why are we here, and why are we looking for the name Tetsuya?" She then asked him.
Harry chuckled a little and answered her; "We had some activity just before I came to get you. In the playroom the toys were levitating and being thrown at Kazuya and me. The name Tetsuya is one that was on the audio feed. So we are trying to find him."
"Wow, I hope I'll be able to see what happened," she enthused a little.
"I'll see about showing it you later on, maybe Lin and Kazuya will let you watch." He smiled at her and then started to go through the records.
Two hours later they finished going through the records. Each looked up and smiled, glad that it was all over. The got up and started to put everything back the way that they had found it and looked over their notes.
"Well, I found seven Tetsuya's that have lived in that house." Harry told Mai as he stretched his arms reaching for the ceiling.
"I found eight that lived in the area where the house is now, before it was there." She replied to his unasked quire.
"So fifteen in total, two of the ones I came across were in the right age ranges when they are classed as deceased. The both were almost four years old when they died. I've also copied a few newspaper clippings about the two of them." Harry said as he looked down to his notes and looked at the ages.
"I found two as well, one aged four, the other three." Mai nodded.
The two stood up and left the library, saying goodbye to the librarian that had shown them the room. It didn't take them long to get back to the house, walking back into the base room they went over to Kazuya and handed him the notes and information that they had gathered.
Kazuya looked through what they had found so far and then looked up to them both, "well we have a few candidates, and the information that you have brought me is interesting to say the least."
"I think we should talk to Mr Sasaki after dinner." Harry said with a small smile.
"I agree, after dinner, which should be soon." Kazuya nodded as he looked down at the information that had been gathered.
The four of them settled down and waited for something else to happen on screen.
Well another chapter done, hope you all enjoy this one. Please review and tell me what you all think. And to the one who asked if those from the Harry Potter world coming into this, they do, and yes they do meet up with the Ghost Hunt lot.
Next – Case File Two – Where Are You? Part four, the final part, what is this interesting bit of information? And will they be able to get rid of the spirit of Tetsuya?
