Here we are back to Cupid's PoV. Please remember to review :) Enjoy!

The sun looked so cozy as it set between the mountain tops as I sat on the edge of a warehouse rooftop. A cheery orange spread across this depressed town. The news teams were packing up for the night, and families had no more words to say. But they had plenty of tears to shed. Apparently the attack of the school children wasn't because of Death. A man had killed those poor children. Humans are so scary sometimes. They have so much power over life, and death. A power no one should have. They are terrifying. But then again, even the unreal can be paralyzing.

I placed my hand gingerly onto my cheek where Jack had slapped me. It still stung a little, but it wasn't the pain that made me want to cry. The pain in my heart is far worse than bruising on my cheek. Physical pain lasts only for a moment, but the scars on the inside are the ones that can last for a lifetime. It's a lot hard when you're immortal too. I have no idea what to do next. Running away always seems like the best option, but then what? Do I face him? No, I can't do that. That is not even an option. Jack is not the person I thought he is. He is harsh, and illogical. He acts before thinking about consequences. He has no consideration to anyone else's feelings, and doesn't care who he hurts. He's a-

"Monster."

That wasn't my voice.

I scrambled to my feet, and turned to the owner of the mysterious voice in a panic. There I saw Jack. Only this Jack wasn't the Jack. This Jack was different. His icy hair seemed a bit ashy, and his natural white skin looked dead. His signature blue hoodie was gray with black icy patterns. He stood similar to how normal Jack would with his hands in his jackets pockets, and a relaxed slouch. But his eyes were the big giveaway that this Jack wasn't Jack. They had heavy eyelids to give him a sly squint, and the colors of his pleasant blue eyes were like they were paled out. They were poisonous, and inviting.

"He could be the monster, you know," his voice said again. It was deep, smooth, and seductive. "Often times, the real monsters in the world don't look like the ones under our bed,"

I only stared. I couldn't think of anything to say. This wasn't Jack.

"No, I'm not Jack. I'm much better,"

My eyes widened. He was answering the thoughts in my head. How in the world…?

"It's quite simple really. I can tell what you're thinking because we are connected," he began to explain. "Our hearts are connected, Cupid. We are meant for each other through destiny. I know what you are thinking, and I know what happen to you. How that asshole hurt you,"

Hearing a curse word come out of Jack's mouth was shocking, but then again this wasn't Jack. The way he spoke was so temping, and seductive. I felt an urge to melt at his side by his smoldering eyes. I was losing my focus.

"I'm very confused right now," the words were barely coming out of my mouth. "Who exactly are you?"

"I'm your other half. Your soul mate. Come on, Cupid. Even you have a true love, and that's me,"

My heart was racing, and my head was pounding. This other Jack has begun to find his way closer and closer to me, and the closer he got the dizzier I felt.

"I wouldn't hurt you like he did."

His voice swirled in my head.

"I will make it better,"

Oh my head!

"Just let me…"

I could feel his breath on my neck.

"Love you."
