So it's been a while since I've updated, and I apologize for that. Thankfully this semester is almost over and so the time between post shouldn't be nearly as long in the future. This really wasn't that exciting of a chapter, but I promise the next one will be. I plan on using time jumps to cover the first few years of the Titan War in the next chapter. I don't own anything affiliated with the Percy Jackson series, and as always please review!

Percy POV

Percy materialized with Nyx just outside the doors of their father's throne room. Now that the initial excitement of meeting his older sister had worn off, he was starting to question whether bringing her here was a good idea. He wasn't sure how his father would react. Time and time again during his training his father had stressed his desire to stay a secret, and now he had brought someone to the Void. She already knew, Percy told himself, the damage was already done. Surely their father wouldn't be upset with the opportunity to meet his eldest child. Percy shook his head, trying to guess the mind of Chaos was a futile practice. His father would react like he would react and there was no changing that fact. He would face the consequences should there be any. Still, he was glad he decided at the last second to appear outside of the throne room, it gave him a moment to collect his thoughts.

"Mother?!" Nyx asked, "Aphrodite is your mother? I thought you were a child of Chaos?"

"What?" Percy asked confused. "Ohh yeah, I am, but Aphrodite is my mother," he told her distractedly. His mind raced, bouncing from idea to idea, as he tried to figure out how to present this situation to his father in a way that would minimize the fallout. He was coming up blank.

Nyx broke through his thoughts. "You mean Aphrodite raised you?" she asked, obviously confused.

It was Percy's turn to be confused again. "Of course she raised me," he said. "She's my mother." Nyx just stared at him with wide eyes. Distracted as he was he couldn't figure out why she was having such a hard time understanding, then it hit him. He was the only natural-born child their father had. As far as Nyx knew, he shouldn't exist. Well this should be interesting, Percy thought. "Ohh, I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Percy, natural-born son of Aphrodite and Chaos," he told her.

Nyx didn't respond immediately, just kept staring at him. "What do you mean natural-born?" she asked him finally.

"I mean natural-born," he said. "Mother and Father conceived me here in the Void, she carried me to term, and I was born and raised here. I only recently returned to Earth with my mother."

"This is the Void?" Nyx asked, fear tingeing her voice.

Percy sighed, he really hadn't thought this through. "I guess I should have explained where I was taking you and who I was before we left," he told her. "Yeah, this is the Void. Don't worry, there's nothing to fear here. This is Father's domain, he'd never let any harm come to his children here." he finished turning toward the doors. He signed again before continuing, "Though he did warn me not to bring anyone here. He won't be happy, but you're in no danger."

Percy's words seemed to calm Nyx somewhat, and she began to look around. The works of art their father had not deemed worthy of the throne room, but was still proud of, lined the walls here. "It's beautiful here," she said after a moment.

"Yes," Percy agreed. "It is." He joined Nyx in her study of his father's work, momentarily ignoring the problematic situation he had placed himself in. "Father is an artist," he told her, "and though he is proud of all these works, you and I, our family, our universe, is his masterpiece." He paused then to let her think about what he said before continuing, "You said you knew what the Void was, but you only knew part. This is the Void, a museum of art, and I'm it's Curator and Heir."

The last part appeared to surprise Nyx, "You're Father's heir?" She waited for Percy's nod of affirmation before continuing, "How old are you? I thought I was the oldest."

"You are," Percy assured her, "but Father created both of us for a purpose. You have yours and I have mine." He turned back toward the throne room doors, "Are you ready to meet Father?" he asked her.

Without hesitation, Nyx nodded. Percy steeled himself, his father had to know they were here already so there was no use putting it off any longer, and threw the doors open. He strode through with Nyx following close on his heels. Out of the corner of his eye, Percy could see a wide eyed Nyx taking in the sight of the throne room. When her eyes landed on the duel thrones on the far side of the room she froze, staring at their father. Percy stopped with her. Across the room, their father sat in his starry throne watching them. "Father," Percy began only to be cut off by a sharply raised hand. Lapsing back into silence, Percy waited for his father to speak.

Though time had no meaning here, it felt like an eternity passed to Percy as he waited next to Nyx for their father's reaction. Slowly, their father rose. He stood on the dais for a moment before taking a step forward only to pause again. Over the years Percy had gained the ability to discern his father's emotions even without using the powers he inherited from his mother. To Percy it was plain as day that Chaos was fighting a losing battle with himself. He wanted nothing more than to rush over and embrace Nyx, but also wanted to protect the careful distance he had maintained since the day of creation. In the end, as Percy knew it would, his love for his family won out. In a rush, Chaos descended from the dais, brushed past the Universe, and wrapped Nyx in a hug before she was even aware what was happening.

"Ohh my daughter," Chaos whispered in her hair, "how I desired to see you again."

Despite the gravity of the situation, Percy nearly laughed at the expression on his sister's face. Shocked did not begin to describe what she looked like. Slowly, she raised her arms and embraced their father back. "Father…" was all she managed before her voice cracked. "Why Father," she continued after a moment, "why did you abandon me?" Percy's heart broke then, and judging from his face, Percy could tell that his Father's did as well.

"Nyx," Chaos began before stopping again. He pulled her tighter into the hug and held her there. After a long while he spoke into her hair. "There were many reasons for my actions Daughter, none of which I expect you to accept," he told her. "But since your beginning I have acted in what I felt was the best interest of all my Creation."

Nyx pulled away from the hug and studied their Father for a long time. Finally she gave a single, nearly imperceptible nod. "I remembered Father, the others have forgotten you, but I remembered and stayed true to the charge you gave me. For millennia I have tried to make you proud."

The smile their father gave his sister was one of the biggest Percy had ever seen on his face. Laughing Chaos replied, "Yes you have my daughter, and I could not be prouder. Though your siblings have forgotten me they have stayed true to their charges as well, I am proud of all of my children."

"Yeah yeah Father," Percy cut in with a laugh, "we know you love all your children, but come on, Nyx and I both know we're your favorite." Judging from Nyx's somewhat girlish giggle, his attempt to cut the tension had worked. "I mean really, she's the eldest and I'm your first born, the others can't even compete."

"I will neither confirm nor deny that sentiment," their Father said with mock severity before pulling them both into another hug. He's happier to see Nyx than I expected him to be Percy thought. He hasn't been this affectionate since I was a child. His father shot him a knowing glance, obviously reading his thoughts, and Percy rolled his eyes.

Nyx, missing the exchange, had finally regained her composure. The nervous girl that stood before their Father moments before had donned the mantel of the eldest Protogenoi. "Why now Father?" she asked. "After all these eons, why have you chosen to reveal yourself now?"

Chaos's face darkened at the question, but it was Percy that answered for him. "Kronos," he said. "He has ruled to long and badly. When the gods rebelled Father decided to aid them."

Nyx appeared surprised. "That's it?" she asked. "If you want him gone I'll go rip Othrys to pieces right now, just say the word Father."

"You always were a feisty one," Chaos said with a small smile. "No Daughter. If I wanted the war ended like that I would have sent your brother long ago. If Zeus aspires to rule my creation he must first prove his strength to me. The gods must win this war on their own, your brother I have sent in me stead to guide them, not to fight for them."

Nyx nodded, and eyed Percy. He swore her starlight eyes twinkled a little more than they had earlier, but her face remained blank. "From what a few of my children tell me, that not fighting clause isn't working out to well."

"I'm never gonna live that down," Percy grumbled. Much to his father and Nyx's amusement. "They took one of the goddesses I have come to care for," he said in way of explanation. "I guess I kind of lost my temper."

"That's an understatement if what I hear is true," Nyx said with a laugh. Percy just rolled his eyes again. "So I'm guessing since she was the only one with you and your mother when we met that Artemis is the goddess you've come to care for Brother?" she continued after a moment. She waited for his nod before grinning. "Good choice," she said. "I like her."

"You would," Chaos said. "She's every bit a feisty as you are." He turned to Percy then, "Speaking of which, it is time you returned. Zeus and his brothers have returned from the pit and may need your aid." Percy nodded. Turning back to Nyx, Chaos asked "Would you like to stay here with me for a short time? I can get you back before nightfall, and I would like to catch up with one of my favorite children," he finished with a sly grin.

Before Chaos was finished speaking Nyx was nodding her assent. Percy just laughed and hugged them both. "See you two soon," he said as he disappeared in swirl of dark energy.

Aphrodite POV

Aphrodite and Artemis materialized before their thrones on Crete. "Time flows differently there," she was saying to the young moon goddess. "It shouldn't be long till he's back." Before they were able to seat themselves dark energy began to swirl in the center of the room. Percy materialized and stepped toward her with a smile on his face. "I assume it went better than you expected?" she asked, somewhat relieved, as he hugged her. In reality she wasn't sure how Chaos would react to their son bringing someone to the Void. Even if that someone was his eldest child. To learn he had reacted favorable was a weight off her shoulders.

"It did," Percy said as Artemis walked up beside Aphrodite and her son. Percy released her and, absentmindedly, threw an arm around Artemis's shoulders. Aphrodite braced herself for the explosion that didn't come. Artemis simply raised an eyebrow at Percy that he didn't see before smirking and allowing the arm to remain. Aphrodite could have sworn she even saw the young goddess lean into her son slightly. Wow she thought to herself. Their feeling must me stronger than even I knew. "Mother, are you even listening to me," she finally heard Percy say and realized he had been talking all the while.

"What?" she said quickly. "Ohh, sorry, I was distracted." A smirking Artemis raised an eyebrow at her this time. Chuckling to herself, Aphrodite said "What were you saying Son?"

"I was saying," he began, but never finished. The door to the throne room burst open and an excited Apollo rushed through.

"Percy!" Apollo cried. "They're bac….WHOA!" he screamed skidding to a halt before the trio, eyes locked on the arm around his sister. For the first time since he had placed it there, Percy seemed to realize what he was doing, and he jumped back like he had been burned.

"Artemis," Percy began, "I'm sorry. I didn't realize what I was doing."

"If I didn't want you to, I would have stopped you," Artemis replied simply. Turning to her brother she asked, "Father is back?"

"Yeah," Apollo replied absentmindedly, eyes darting between his sister and Percy. "Well no, they're still in the Underworld, but they're out of Tartarus." Finally he regained his composure, "Dad wanted to ensure their loyalty down there where it will be easy to throw them back into Tartarus before bringing them to the surface." Addressing Percy he said, "I was sent to get you."

"Smart thinking," Aphrodite replied for he son, who still looked shocked by Artemis's statement.

"Yeah," Percy said slowly, before shaking himself. He checked his necklace and ring before nodding. "Okay," he said, "time to go convince some Cyclops and Hecatonchires to fight out war. You three stay here, I can handle this on my own." With that he disappeared in a swirl of dark energy.

As soon as Percy was gone, Apollo rounded on his sister. "Okay. What was that!?" he nearly screamed. Aphrodite just smiled and placed a hand on Apollo's shoulder.

"Your sister is a grown woman, she can make he own choices Apollo," she said.

"Ohh no," Apollo said, "I'm not mad. Pretty damn surprised, but not mad." He seemed to get over his shock a little, "but seriously little sis, what was that."

Artemis gave each of them a smirk, and flashed out without a word.

You've got your hands full with this one Percy, Aphrodite thought, tuning out Apollo's annoyed cursing. Smiling to herself she flashed down to the beach she had met Chaos all those years ago.
