Chapter 10
The gigantic rock/dark type let out a roar, making Raichu flinch a little. Tyranitar stomped on the ground causing an Earthquake, but Raichu dodged the attack by jumping into the air, the electric types tail glew gray before Raichu slammed it inbetween Tyranitars eyes.
Tyranitar stumbled back in pain before hitting Raichu with an Iron Tail of its own, making Raichu stumble back. Both pokemon then charged towards each other, both looking for an Iron Tail, the attacks clashed and canceled each other out.
Tyranitar then unleashed a light green fire out of its mouth, Raichu winced at the Dragonbreaths flames. Raichu opened its eyes to see that its opponent had disappeared! "Raichu, he's underground! Stand on your tail to get a feel for where its at" Jandro commanded.
Raichu stood on its tail with its eyes closed, the mouses eyes suddenly popped open and it leaped into the air. Seconds later, Tyranitar jumped out from underground, missing the Dig attack. Raichu saw its chance and came down with another Iron Tail, but Tyranitar caught the attack with both hands. Tyranitar then opened its mouth and fired an orange beam on energy, knocking Raichu out with the Hyper Beam.
"Return, Raichu! Now go Venusaur!" Jandro said, releasing his fourth pokemon. "He can't move, take advantage with Giga Drain!" Jandro said as the grass type zapped Tyranitar of its health. Tyranitar then rushed towards Venusur, looking to Trash its opponent, but was stopped in its tracks with a Vine Whip that held Tyranitar in place while the bulb on Venusaurs back took in sunlight and seconds later shot it all out at Tyranitar, knocking the powerful pokemon out with its Solar Beam.
"And a powerful Solar Beam wins this round for Jandro. Who will Keem choose next?" The announcer said as Keem released his fourth pokemon, Electabuzz.
The electric pokemon started the battle off with a Quick Attack, doing minimal damage to Venusar. The grass type responded just as quickly with a Razor Leaf. Electabuzz's fist crackled with electricity as it charged towards Venusaur, but the grass typed reacted by shooting one of its vines out and grabbing Electabuzz's wrist and using its other vine to smack Electabuzz in the face repeatedly.
Eventually Venusaur let go, giving the electric type the opportunity to sneak in another Quick Attack but Keem noticed a green seed on Electabuzz. 'He let me attack so he could plant that Leech Seed on Electabuzz.' Keem thought.
Electabuzz used another Quick Attack to get in close and landed a super effective Fire Punch. Venusaur let out a roar of pain and grabbed Electabu with both vines as its bulb started to glow. "Brace yourself, Electabuzz!" Keem yelled, trying to prepare his pokemon of what he thought was going to be a Solar Beam but the grass types bulb stopped glowing before an orange powder came out and covered Electabuzz before Venusaur put the electric type down.
Confused, Electabuzz let its guard down and soon it couldn't move. 'He tricked me' Keem thought, 'He used Synthesis to regain health then used Stun Spore to paralyze Electabuzz'. Venusaur took advantage of his opponent being unable to move and finished Electabuzz off with a Solar Beam.
"Jandro and Venusaur get another knock out, but one has to wonder why he didn't use Solar Beam earlier" The announcer said, as Keem returned Electabuzz. Keem then answered the question, " Because Electabuzz would've survived the attack since he was prepared for it. So he paralyzed Electabuzz to ensure a knockout, not to mention gave himself a little more health to use in this round." Keem said, while grabbing his last pokeball.
"Go Blastoise, finish this!" Keem said, releasing his starter pokemon.
Venusaur unleashed a flurry of razor sharp leafs but Blastoise avoided the attack by withdrawing back into its shell and launching itself towards the grass type at top speed and at the last second landed a devastating Skull Bash.
"What a great sequence of events by Blastoise! Using Rapid Spin to avoid Razor Leaf then using the momentum to unleash a powerful Skull Bash!" The announcer said. Venusaur quickly rebounded through using Vine Whip to deal some damage then charged at the water type hoping to land a Headbutt but Blastoise quickly struck with an Ice Punch right between the eyes. Venusaur jumped back and its bulb lit up then quickly faded. 'Is it weakening? It must be!' Keem thought.
"Hyper Beam!" Both trainers yelled as both pokemon shot orange beams of energy out at each other, the attacks collided causing an explosion. As soon as both pokemon could move, Venusaur shot off a Solar Beam quicker than usual, surprising both Keem and Blastoise with the quickness of the attack.
'How did he charge Solar Beam so fast?' Keem thought looking to the sky, where he noticed that the sun seemed to be shining extra bright, the heat was more intense. 'He used Sunny Day! I thought it was Venusaur weakening'.
The seed pokemon launched another Solar Beam and instead of dodging the attack, Blastoise met it head on with a Hydro Pump! Both attacks collided causing yet another explosion. Once the smoke cleared Blastoise was gone! Venusaur looked around but couldn't find its fellow starter pokemon.
"Look up!" Keem said, causing both Jandro and Venusaur to look up as Blastoise unleashed a Ice Beam! The attack hit dead on and knocked Venusaur out!
"And now they're both down to their last pokemon, who will Jandro choose to battle against Keems Blastoise?" The announcer asked.
