Chapter 10: My Blue Valentine

Eren fiddled with his fingers nervously as he waited for Levi to call him. He had spent all day listening to how everyone was going to spend the reminder of valentine's. Armin and Annie had started it off early and had left the day before to the middle of nowhere Utah to enjoy some skiing for the following three days. Everyone else had less expensive plans like spending the night eating at a fancy restaurant or simply binge watching romantic movies on netlfix. "Wait for my call when you get back from class, showering is not necessary" Levi had called him that very morning and had given no further details.

Whatever Levi could have been planning for anyways? Eren continued fiddling with his fingers and checking his phone every five minutes until finally the machine started singing. He went to pick up the phone and almost let it slip from his hands before answering it with a stuttering voice.

"H-Hello Levi?" Eren basically mumbled and managed a chuckle from the other side of the call.

"Hey prince, come outside I came over to pick you up" Levi spoke and Eren nodded to his voice.

"I'll be right out, see ya in a b-bit!" Eren replied and hung up quickly dashing out of his room in direction to the exit of his dorm.

Outside on the parking was Levi waiting for him in a warm winter jacket and baggy pants with his combat boots. Snow had started to fall and the cold wind burnt Eren's cheeks a little as he stepped out of the warmth of the dorm. Levi looked handsome as he leaned on his celica's hood simply wearing a seductive smile as he stared at Eren.

"Hey, c'mon we'll get cold out here" He spoke up and made a hand gesture to call Eren over before he turned on his feet and got back in his car.

Eren giggled and hurriedly made his way to the passenger seat. He plopped on the chair and closed the door so his boyfriend could drive away. Now that they were on their way to whatever place Levi had in mind maybe it was a good time to ask what the man was thinking.

"We're going to my apartment in case you were going to ask" Levi replied as he stopped before a red light. "Thought maybe we could share dinner and eat some ice cream while we bathe in my jacuzzi"

Eren's cheeks turned scarlet as Levi gave him the details with a mischievous smile on his face. Eren shrunk into the seat, embarrassed by what his perverted mind was picturing, and bit his lower lip only managing to look cuter in Levi's eyes.

"Hey, you don't have to be embarrassed about this it's not like I haven't seen you naked before"

"Shut up" Eren mumbled his blush reaching the tip of his ears.

Levi took a hand off the wheel to pet Eren's head lovingly managing to make Eren feel a little more okay with himself.

"Let's enjoy our valentine's day however we feel comfortable as okay?"

Levi had whipped up the best dinner Eren had had all year. Nothing better than a classic spaghetti and meatballs with a sauce that had the slightest tinge of wine to taste. Simple, but definitely the best meal yet. Having finished with dinner and with the whole of Levi's impressively large apartment lit by candlelight, Eren and his boyfriend sat on a fluffy carpet by the L shaped sofa in Levi's living room. Waiting for the Jacuzzi to fill up, the couple were chitchatting to pass up the time. Eren told Levi about how nervous he had been all day and Levi told Eren about how he had been actually worrying about the outcome of their first valentine's day. Eren thought it a little out of character but it only revealed more of his senior's kind side. That all on its own made Eren thrice as happy.

A beep was heard from the bathroom, Levi's Jacuzzi had a sensor for when it filled up and it was currently telling them the tub was ready to go. Eren smirked mischievously and Levi was forced to roll his eyes as he tried to hold in a smile. The couple got up from their position and Eren went on to take off all his clothes on the way to the bathroom.

"You better pick them up later brat!" Levi exclaimed following after him.

"I will! Now come on! Oooooh! The water is so warm! Ah look at all these bubbles! Levi they smell like vanilla!" Eren had basically hopped into the foamy and bubbly Jacuzzi at the far wall facing the wall. Levi's bathroom was big, multi faucet shower with a type of water massage system, and two sinks for some reason. The walls and floor were all out of white granite tiles and everything looked so clean it brought tears to Eren's eyes.

"Yeah, thought it would be nice to get scented bubbles in" Levi finally arrived at the bathroom and started removing his clothes setting them neatly by the bathroom's sink before joining Eren in the tub.

"Oh?" Eren moved to cuddle Levi and the older man grunted as he made sure both of them wouldn't drown in their current Eren-between-his-legs-and-hogging-his-chest position. "Then it really was a good idea" Eren spoke in sing song as he straightened himself to kneel between Levi's legs.

Eren took his arms out of the water to wrap them around his lover's shoulders, bubbles sticking all over them and rolling off them eventually and covering parts of Levi's chest. Levi laughed and rolled his eyes before he carefully shifted their positions so that Eren was the one pinned between the jacuzzi's wall and a man's body. A morning-after omelet sounded like a good thing to surprise Eren with and so he gave himself the job of cooking it up. A few minutes of cooking and another few of organizing things into a wooden bed table, Levi had finished preparing breakfast and walked over to his room with it at hand.

"Eren" He called as he sat down careful not to spill over the table as he did. "Wake up snotty piece of shit"

Eren giggled as he brought himself to mid open his eyes. He was going to come back at him with some smart remark but stopped himself when he saw that his lover had brought him breakfast to bed. His eyes opened wide with surprise and he carefully sat up on bed to look at Levi with a bright smile plastered on his face. His cheeks were tainted red as he made for grabby hands towards Levi.

"Good morning! I… thanks" He finally spoke and Levi set the table on the middle of the bed so they could both eat from it. "God, I love you." Eren said after he gulped down a sip of orange juice.

"I love you too brat. You feeling okay?" Levi asked inspecting Eren for any sign of sore muscles.

"Yes as a matter of fact. Hmm, what are we going to do today?" The brunette inquired beaming.

"Well maybe we could actually get you started on studying for that upcoming chemistry exam you have in a few weeks"

"Oh come ooooooon" Eren whined but only got Levi to look at him in a scolding matter.

"No buts, we're picking up your books and getting you to study so eat up shitty brat"

"Fine" Eren made a pouty face and continued eating his breakfast.

As they finished up, Levi rose his gaze from his plate after only a few seconds of not watching Eren's face and came to shock himself when he saw a trail of red coming out of Eren's nose. A drop fell on the bed table and Eren froze as he came to realize what it was.

"Eren…is that…?"

Eren looked at Levi in the eyes and chuckled as he took his hand to cover his nose.

"Shit, I thought that wouldn't happen anymore! How embarrassing!" He said and went on to get up from bed.

Levi noticed Eren skin's pale though, he noticed the despair that had flashed in his eyes when he saw that drop of blood.

"Eren wait-"

But Eren didn't get out of the room. He collapsed on the floor as more blood gushed out of his nose. Levi frantically got on his feet and down to huddle Eren in his arms, calling him shaking him carefully, trying to wake him up.

"Eren c'mon wake up, you fucking idiot!" He called but got no response, it wasn't much but Eren had gotten colder to his touch. "Eren!"

He quickly reached for his cell phone and dialed 911. He was about to lose it, he didn't want to believe what this was all pointing to. How could he have ignored it for so long? He was going to be a doctor for god's sake! Eren, was sick. He was direly sick and he hadn't seen through all the signs. The pills, the bruising, his nosebleeds… Carla and Mikasa being so grateful that he was with them. He was an idiot. Levi felt like he could, for the first time in a very long time, cry his soul out.

"Why didn't you tell me…?"
