Morning, Merlin's room – Camelot

The light that shined in from outside was tremendously overwhelming for John. For a second, he thought he was back on the battlefield, staring at a beating sun. But then he remembered – he was in an alternate universe with strange beings and things that couldn't even be explained by the great Sherlock Holmes. That's fabulous.

And the light was from Sherlock's flashlight.

"Argh! Will you stop, please! I'll go blind!

"No, there's not a great possibility that you'll go blind from a flashlight."

"Well, I'm going blind right now!"

Everyone was stirring quite a bit, but no one was actually awake.

Then there was Sherlock.

"Did you actually get any sleep?" John asked in a whispered voice.

"TWO hours, by the look of the sky and formation of the stars. Woke up at approximately three in the morning. It's about four, now, judging from the sky. Bit early for you, John."

John glared.

"What?"

"Could you have said it any louder?"

"Was I not loud enough for you?"

"You were much too loud to begin with! People are sleeping!"

"Actually…" Castiel sat up from his spot next to Dean. "I don't sleep."

Awkward silence ensued.

"Aww, boring, no-fun tatoots!" The Doctor sprang up from his spot on the floor and rushed to the window. "You should talk more, get to know each other…"

More awkward silence ensued.

"Ugh…" Dean sat up, rustled Sam a bit to get at it, and then lay back down – mostly because of all the pairs of eyes staring him down.

Sam followed suit.

Still more awkward silence ensued.

The door swung open and hit Castiel in the head quite hard.

"S-Sorry! I'm so sorry!" A troubled Merlin rushed into the room after making sure Castiel was fine.

"What do you want, wizard boy?" Dean was still in a grumpy, after-sleep mood.

"We should get outside the castle before Gaius wakes up."

"Nah, what's the point of going outside the castle walls? You can't have any fun out there…" The Doctor pouted and looked for everyone to agree.

"I can't just explain that there were six men in the forest that asked for my help and how I helped them sneak into the castle! Get out! I'll let you meet the king or Arthur later."

Merlin ushered the group towards the door, past a sleeping Gaius, and into the hall.

"You know, it would be much less complicated if we stayed – no sneaking around to get outside of the castle, no sneaking around to get back inside the castle-"

"Doctor, be quiet!" Dean scolded, to which the Doctor promptly shut his mouth from lack of a quick comeback.

Merlin led them to another one of those sideways vent things in the wall. This time, the hatch cooperated and opened quietly, leading into a dark tunnel.

"Here…" The sorcerer took a torch down from the wall and handed it to Sam. "That should light your way in there."

"No way in Hell am I getting back in there," Dean said, staring at the narrow space.

"Dean…" Sam nudged his brother, giving him a look.

No one moved.

"…Well, go on. Everyone's going to be awake soon, if you don't go now."

"…Merlin, why don't you set a time to meet again? Just so we know you're not dumping us. Of course, I don't think you'd do that, but we're sort of lost now and have no idea what we're doing, so…" The Doctor gave an apologetic smile.

Merlin was tired and sleepy. He didn't like to be doubted as such. He sighed internally for what seemed to be the millionth time. "…Meet me in the clearing at sunset…" he mumbled.

"Alright, then!" The Doctor beamed at Merlin and turned to the hole in the wall. "Allons-y!"

"…What's that mean?" Dean asked, very confused and annoyed at the man with a "screwdriver".

"It means 'let's go' in French," said a mildly amused Sherlock.

"Why do you have that smirk on your face?" John was a little overwhelmed at this point.

"Oh… Nothing."

"Well, better keep your mouth shut, then." And with that, John got into the enclosed space after the Doctor, leaving a stunned Sherlock behind.

With the Doctor and the shining torch leading the way, the sextet crawled on their hands and knees, navigating through the somewhat winding space. Dean was the last one on the queue, behind Castiel. The angel had to constantly stop to catch his breath, and Dean was getting concerned.

"Hey, Cas… You okay?"

"I'm fine, Dean…"

When they got out of the passageway, they were on the outskirts of the castle, just a few hundred meters away from the safety of the lush, green trees.

Well, the few hundred meters were across an open, guarded courtyard, that is.

Castiel stumbled out of the wall and was about to launch forward head-on before a struggling Dean pulled his trench coat down and told him to help him out of the hole.

"Well…" The Doctor pulled out his screwdriver and scanned the surrounding walls. "Huh… We should be able to make our way across if we run at top speed."

"Yeah, I think we see that…" Dean was not in the mood for running or the like. He'd just gotten out of an enclosed space and needed to breathe.

"Maybe if we go around their blind spots," Sherlock added.

"…Maybe?" John was astounded Sherlock had stated a possibility with only the chance of maybe.

"Well, they only have crossbows as weapons, so maybe they won't be able to shoot accurately even if they did see us?" Sam was trying to get his fallen-asleep leg to cooperate with him. He was in no shape to run.

"But if they identify us, we won't be able to go back to the castle again."

"Cas is right," Dean said. "I don't think it's a good idea for them to see us at all. Worse comes to worst…" He pulled out his gun. "I've got a pretty gun."

"Well, let's not get over our heads with that… Running is good exercise. We could do it, probably." The Doctor got into a starting stance.

"On three. One-"

"Wait, what?"

"Two-"

"Hey!"

"Three!"
