Hello everyone! We did it 10 chapters! When I posted Chapter 1, I had no idea how long I was going to keep this story going. Now I am so happy that we have reached chapter 10 and there is still more to write. Look at the end of the chapter for facts about this story! As always I hope you guys enjoy!
"Fine" Finn said as he let his head down and stared out the ground, "I accept my fate" he said. "You accept your fate with honor, you have gained my respect" the Elite Banana Guard confessed. "You possessions shall be returned to your loved ones". Finn glared up from the ground but did not speak; he simply looked at The Banana Guard. The Guard once again readied his spear…
Jake the Dog and Ice King
"Jake! Is it ready yet?" Jake began to sing and opened the small curtains on the puppet show theatre. "From here... To there!" He announced "A Jake the Dog production" he said not even as close as loud as he did before. He formed his hand into a small man. "You can't tell but I'm trying to clap... You can't tell because you hurt me..." The Ice King said trying to make Jake feel bad. Jake paid no attention to what I've King was saying, he was lost in theater. "I am here" he said shaking the little man a little, then had him move to the other side of the make shift stage. "And now I am here... From here to there!" Ice King began to cheer and whistle, he really was a man of simply taste. When take stepped out from the puppet theater Gunter and two other penguins where there to throw roses to him, he formed his hand back into the man and made him bow. Ice King and everyone cheered at the tops of their lungs, then Jake began to bow, and everyone was silent. Jake didn't care about lack of cheers because as far as he cared, he made it into the limelight. Jake often gets caught up in dreams he had but have since abandoned, like being an actor.
Jake walked over to Ice King and sat down next to him, "Oh wow "Jake said, sounding out of breath, "I bet Finn would have love to see that". "Yeah", the Ice King said, "Shame he was killed" he like it was a normal topic to discuss. "What? No dude he came back, he's fine" Jake informed him. "No, I mean the part after... You know what never mind, just brings back bad memories" said Ice King. "What are you talking about dude?" Jake asked confused out of his mind. "Well ok Princess Bubblegum came to me and asked me to kill Finn, She offered to be my wife but I said 'NO! Finn is my turbo bro!" "Oh My Glob! Are you serious?" Jake asked in shock, "Ha-ha no," the Ice King confessed, Jake let out a big breath in a sign of relief. "She will never want to be my wife; I don't know what she doesn't see in me. She offered me my pick of anyone of the nightosphere". "Nightosphere!?" Jake shouted, "What the glob is going on!" Gunter covered his ears with his flippers. Jake tried to compose himself, but was thrown off guard by the amount of questions that was created thinking about what was happening.
"What do you mean? Princess Bubblegum tried to hire me to kill Finn… I don't know what is so confusing" Ice King thought that Jake might be going crazy for a second, not that he was in a position to think that about someone. "I-I got to go…" Jake informed Ice King, gathering his stuff so he can leave. "Hey! What about act two?" Ice King asked still fixated on the puppet show, "Ill do it later" Jake said. The Ice King made a face of disappointment, "But-" he was cut off by Jake whipping his head around and staring daggers at him. "I said later!" Jake repeated practically breathing fire at the King of Ice, there was an awkward pause, "hey take as long as you want" Ice King said. He may be insane but he's not stupid, he remembered last time he stood in the way of Finn and Jake, the exact reason he was in his full body cast being taken care of by Jake now. Jake gathered up the rest of his things and put them into his backpack that he had brought them in. He walked up to the exit of the Ice King's castle and paused for a second, "I'm sorry for yelling at you" Jake apologized then jumped out of the exit like a skydiver out of a plane, he then stretched himself into a parachute and gently glided to the ground. Once he hit the snow at the bottom he transformed back into his normal size and began running towards the Candy Kingdom. Ice King had designed his kingdom so that the Candy Kingdom was visible from his, and probably vice versa. That being said it was still about thirty minutes of running to the kingdom gates. If Jake was quick he might make it there in twenty five.
Finn the Human
The elite banana guard aimed his spear right at the young boys heart, he stood approximately 15 yards away, just so he knew he wouldn't be noticed until Finn was completely inside the room. Finn continued to stare down at the ground, then the guard took a step… and another, then began to run at the last human in the world, spear ready to kill. "I accept my fate…" Finn repeated as he heard the guard running at him on the marble floors of the castle. Finn quickly looked up from the ground directly at the guard with the spear, "my fate to live!" Finn shouted catching the two guards next to him off guard. He kicked into the air, hitting the spears tip and sending the guards aim upwards, the spear cut Finn's forehead as he leaned his head back to dodge it. It stuck into the wall behind them alerting the guard on the outside, he began to attempt to unlock the door. The elite guard who once held the spear was thrown off by expecting to stab Finn that he couldn't stop in time and plowed directly into the Banana guard holding Finn's left arm. They both collided with the wall behind them, just like the spear. Finn quickly turned to the guard on his right, landing a punch directly into his gut causing him to bend over, Finn jumped kneeing him in the face and causing him to land on his back. The Banana guard finally opened the door; he swung it open hitting the guard Finn had just kneed, in the head, knocking him out if he wasn't already. The guard who ran into the other stood up and wobbled a little bit then readied himself. Both of the awake guards looked at Finn ready to fight him in hand to hand combat, but to their surprise Finn turned around and began running. Finn jumped at the window and covered his face, crashing through the window; he fell three stories then hit the candy sun awning and launching himself into the fountain that was conveniently located in just the right position.
To most it seemed like a well planned escape, calculation Finn was able to make in his head in second thanks to his years of adventure. However Finn was two tired still to even do simple math let alone the calculations required to plan something like that out. He had forgotten how high he was above the ground, and had no clue what was on the other side of the window. It was not a clean getaway either, his arms where cut up from jumping through the glass when he used them to cover his face, when he landed into the water of the fountain it knocked all the air out of Finn immediately causing him to open his mouth letting water in and almost drowning. The water of the fountain was also quite shallow, not enough to break bones or cause death, but it didn't feel nice when Finn hit the bottom. He struggled under the water for a second then kicked off the ground resurfacing himself from the water, he was taller than the water and simply could of stood up but he was in such a hurry to exit he practically jumped out. He through his arm over the edge of the fountain and began coughing, expelling the water from his lungs, he breathed heavily refilling his lungs with air. He looked up at the window to see the two guards looking down in awe at him; they were not willing to jump, hoping the same thing would happen to them. Finn's face formed a small smile, he has escaped death so many times that it was like a normal thing, and Finn couldn't help but smile when it happened.
Finn slowly became covered which a shadow as he was attempting to claw his was out of the fountain; he was surrounded by candy citizens. "Must be here to see if I'm ok" Finn thought to himself, the candy people always cared for Finn like he was one of them, after saving basically each of them several times. However instead of being greeted with helping hands and concerned faces, he was meet with kicks and nasty words. As he struggled to get to his feet the candy people where standing around him kicking him all over, once he stood the kicks turned into shoves and punches. Even though the candy people lacked a lot of people who could actually hurt him, most punches felt like getting hit with a scope of cookie dough, it still was difficult to navigate through the crowd. When Finn finally broke free of the crowd he ran into an alleyway just to the left of the fountain, the walls of the alleyway, as well as the normal walls, where covered with wanted posters for Finn. He ripped one off the wall and read it as he continued to run through the Candy Kingdom. "Wanted" it said, "Finn the Human, wanted for being possessed by the Lich, suspect is armed and extremely dangerous.
Finn had become a pariah in a Kingdom he has risked his life multiple times to protect, a kingdom that only hours ago loved and adored him beyond belief. Finn crumpled the paper and through it off to the side, he turned back to look at the crowd, they were still hot on his trail. Even though his legs where much longer then there super small candy legs, they were somehow able to maintain sight of him no matter where he ran. Although he could run for what seemed for forever, he could not think of a plan or a way out. His legs were moving 30 times faster than the wheels in his head where turning. He dodged any candy citizen who felt brave enough to step into his path as an attempt to stop him, when he ran past they were just consumed by the crowd, making it bigger and bigger. Some held torches and giant forks like if they caught Finn they would actually use it. Others held up posters if him they ripped off the wall, most however just waved there fists in the air shouting rude things at him.
Finn finally found a path that made sense to him, the path leading to the front gate of the Candy Kingdom. All Finn would have to do is run down the street cross the small bridge in the middle then leave the Kingdom. When the guards at the front saw Finn then the crowd running towards them, they closed the pretzel gate. Finn ran through the street with little resistance like he did most of the Kingdom streets. As Finn ran up to the bridge he saw the gate, he had no idea how he would get through it but he knew he had too. He continued to run the wooden bridge, it was not entirely wood however, it was candy wood taken from the trees located around the kingdom. He stepped one foot onto the bridge and prepaid to kick off, hoping he would not only clear the bridge, but the jump would give him an extra boost. However instead of this happening the board in which he put his foot on broke beneath him, causing him to fall face first onto the ground. Finn propped himself up and grabbed his nose, it was not broken but was bleeding. Finn was lucky not to twist his ankle or possible break or fracture it in the fall. He got back up just in time to avoid the crowds kicks. Now the only thing that stood between him and freedom was the pretzel gate and the two guards standing in front. Unlike the group who had previously attempted to detain Finn, these guards were not nearly as trained. As Finn and the crowd of angry citizens ran towards them, they began to shake in fear, the one on the right even dropped his spear and threw his hands up to cover his face. Finn used this to his advantage, he stepped on the Banana Guards stomach and then face, launching himself into the air, the guard fell to his back and Finn extended his arms narrowly grabbing the edge of a window to the room just above the gate. Finn pulled himself up to the room, he saw a small man who was in charge of releasing or raising the gate. He paid no attention to the little man and simply jumped out of the window on the opposite side, landing a rolling onto the ground, once he got back to his feet he began running again.
The angry mob was forced to watch Finn as he ran from the kingdom, they could not get through the gate and it took a while to open. "Open the gate!" The one banana guard yelled up to the little man in the room. "What?" he questioned back, "The gate!" He yelled back up to the man, "No, my name it sugar not gate". "No! Open the gate!" They yelled back and forth at each other for a little while, by the time they finally opened the gate and the mob got to the grass just in front of the kingdom, Finn was nowhere to be seen. However they knew exactly where he went, on the grassy trails throughout Ooo there were small drops of blood leading who ever followed them directly to the owner, Finn the Human. One candy citizen brought forward his gummy dog, who walked up and sniffed the blood, pointed in the direction Finn had fled. The candy citizens where once again following Finn, although he was too far to see, anywhere he went they could follow.
Princess Bubblegum
The four Elite Banana Guards stood in front of the princess. Her face was usually a like pink but right now it was as red as blood. She walked back and forth in front of them with her hands behind her back, they were standing shoulder to should, their hands also located behind their backs. She stopped and pointed to each of them, "You are worthless, you are worthless, you are worthless, and you are worthless!" "Yes Princess" they all said in sync like they normally did when talking to the princess. "You had one job to do!" she yelled, she walked over to the window Finn had just throw himself from moment ago. "Do you know how hard it was to convince everyone that Finn was evil!?" "Yes Princess", "All these resources, all this planning, how am I ever suppose to get close to him again!?". The guards did not answer, but one did speak up, "Princess, I think-"he was cut off by Bubblegum grabbing him, "You weren't trained to think… you were trained to kill!" Princess Bubblegum forced him over to the shattered window and lean him backwards so he was hanging out of it. She looked him dead in the eyes, "If this angry mob doesn't kill Finn, you won't be so lucky…" The banana guard swallowed, "Y-yes princess". Princess Bubblegum through him back inside and he rushed back into line with the rest of the elite guards.
The princess continued to rant at the guards about how much of a disappointment and how they looked like jokes. She usually wasn't that mean, but time was running out and she had to kill Finn by the end of the week or there would be… "Untold consequences" echoed in the princess' head, she could almost see Hudson at his desk, informing her that she would need to use her imagination if she failed. But she still had till the end of the week, and it was only Thursday.
Finn the Human
Finn ran as fast as he could, to the only place he felt safe now, Marceline's house. Finn was physically exhausted but he knew if he ran just a little fast and a little longer he would be able to stop in no time. Before he knew it, the sight of the cave came from the horizon and Finn was on the finally stretch to safety. He was sweating like a dog, he had not done physical activity in the sun for sometime now and as far as he was concerned it was One Million degrees today. Although in all actuality it was only about Eighty. Finn master powers of over exaggeration when it came to heights, time, or temperature never seemed to fail him. Unlike his legs that where extremely close to just buckling under the pressure and cause him to collapse to the ground.
Before his legs had a chance to fail, he finally reached the entrance to the cave he now called his home. Then of course to the front door, and finally into the house. He took a second and hunched over, breathing heavily in an attempt to regain his breath. The he quickly climbed the ladder leading to Marceline's, and now his bedroom. "Marcy wake up!" He shout as he was rubbishing through the closet looking for something. Marceline jumped awake then turned and looked at the clock, "What the glob Finn?! It's one in the afternoon" she complained. One in the after noon being almost equivalent to about 3 in the morning to anyone who followed Marceline's sleep schedule. "The candy people are chasing me in a mob because they think I'm the Lich" Finn attempted to frantically explain still searching through the closet. "Finn that's insane, you saved them a million times." Marceline said not believing a word he said. "I was one of a kind," Finn said "then once I stopped adventuring I became just like everyone else, and that much easier to replace".
"Finn I don't think-" Marceline was cut off by the sound of glass shattering on the main level of there cave home. Just then Finn found what he was looking for, he threw a duffle bag onto the bed as threw Marceline her day clothes. Finn bean to through things into the bag, only sentimental thing, pictures, Hambo, and a few other knickknacks. When Finn finished Marceline was already in her day clothes, they creeped down the ladder to hear the chants growing louder and louder. Once they reached the bottom they saw the shattered glass on the ground and the broken window it came from. Outside the window they the angry mob, three times the size Marceline had pictures when told her about it.
Even though they were sometimes scared of Marceline, but never really had a reason to dislike her, the crowd was shouting rude things. "Of course she is in cahoots with the Lich" one shouted. "Of course she is pure evil!" Shouted another. Marceline tried not to pay attention to their shouts and just focus on Finn. "What do we do?" She asked almost a little scared herself. "We need to leave and lay low for a little while, wait till it dies down a bit" Finn explained, Marceline couldn't help but Finn knew a lot about avoiding being found while a wanted man, a skill he learned by listening to Jake while he talked in his sleep.
Marceline thoughts were cut off by a bottle flying through the hole into the room. This wasn't like any potion they had seen before; it was an old PMW bottle with a small rag on fire sticking out of the top. When it hit the back wall just above the coat it shattered shouting fire and flames around the room. They were not harmed by the flames but edits they knew it the room was covered in fire. Marceline quickly grabbed Finn and they flew there the shattered hole, they once called there window and where immediately above the large ground of people, almost every able body in the Candy Kingdom was there to attempt to hunt Finn like an animal. Finn and Marceline where quickly meet with boo's and profound names and well as an onslaught of rocks from the cave ground being thrown at them as they floated about them. They flew around dodging these things, until they finally made it to the exit of the cave. Finn's nose had stopped bleeding while he was throwing things into the duffle bag, so they candy people would not be able to find them so easy.
When they left Marceline almost got a tear in her eye, here they where, with only a duffle bag. A duffle bag carrying there entire life inside it, they left the one house she ever really felt at home at. The only house she could Finn and her still in when they got older, a house that will eventually be reused to a pile of ash and charred wood. However she was comforted by the knowledge that she still had Finn, and like Finn had always quoted from Jake, "Home is where your heart is" and she knew that Finn had all of hers.
Marceline and Finn didn't even have to communicate on where they were headed next, she knew and she continued to fly to Finn's old tree house. Eventually they landed in front of the door, and Finn knocked on the door. He waited a second then thought to himself, "what am I doing?" and he opened the door and ran inside shouting for Jake. "Jake!" he yelled as he ran through the treasure room and up the ladder to the kitchen. There was no sign of anyone, anywhere, the house was completely abandoned. "Should we stay and wait for him?" Marceline asked, "No, no this will be the first place they will look for us, they know where I hangout" Finn felt a little weird calling his tree house the place he hangout instead of just the place he lived.
Fin and Marceline left the house and Marceline let out a big yawn, she was tired much like how Finn was earlier but now he was wide awake. Finn grabbed Marceline's hands and threw her onto his back, like she did for him. "Finn, what are you doing?" she asked confused about why he was carrying her when she was the one with the powers. "well I've been thinking" he said as he began to walk with her away from the tree house, "I need to repay you for all the time you spent carrying me" he said with a smile as he looked back at Marceline. "You really don't have too", she said but Finn simply continued to walk and said "I want to Marcy". She just nodded, leaned over and kissed Finn's cheek. Finn began walking to… who knows where. They where clueless on where to go, but they continued moving. They travelled to many kingdoms, although all greeted then with open arms, completely unaware of event earlier in the day, they choose not to stay. Finally they found themselves traveling through the badlands, it was hot, the sand left the ground hard to walk on. They "tested the waters" below bridges, in half destroyed buildings, even inside the MO factory. Finally they found a cave, Marceline didn't know if he liked it because she actually did, or if it was just all she's known. Inside the cave was a small little boat that they went inside, it was a little small but cozy. A little farther into the cave there was a stream, it was strange to see water in that area of Ooo but they didn't bash it since they need it to survive. They took out all of their things and placed them around the boat making it their own. They got into the boat by a hole in the side; they placed all of their things in the bottom that is also where they decided to sleep. There was a bed already in the hull of the boat; they assumed it bellowing to the cabin boy or another member of the original crew who owned the boat. The bed its self was small, but they made it work. They decided that Finn would sleep on the bed and she would float above him, he knew that as soon as she fell asleep she would slowly sink until she was on top of him but he didn't mind, so he decided not to go against the plan.
There new home was pretty bad, compared to their old one, but they were happy. They had each other and they were ready to wait until this thing dies down. Finn told Marcy several times that he was sorry for the loss of her house and possessions and how she would probably be safer going off until he was ok, but she refused to leave.
After they settled in to their new cave boat they decided it was time to take a tour of the "neighborhood". They walked around the surrounding area for hours checking out the once populated areas, and the mountains of giant bones, cause by the rapid death of something. They didn't look at it like remains, they looked at them like structures, like long forgotten architectural blueprints of a building too be. They had a fun time, alone but together in each other's company.
Jake the Dog (Several Hours Ago)
Jake entered the Candy Kingdom to surprise, the guards where all at their posts but the kingdom its self was a ghost town. The once populated and booming streets of the market area had no residents but tumble weed at this point. He found it weird but simply assumed it was another weird tradition of the kingdom, and he just has never heard of it before. He just continued through the streets, at a brisk pace for two reasons. One for being slightly scared, feeling completely alone in a big city made him feel like he was being watched and laughed at from a distance. Two for needing to confront Bubblegum about the whole thing he learned from Ice King moments before. It was the whole reason he came in the first place, and as much as he was concerned, the quicker he gets in the quicker he can get out.
He reached the base of the castle and stretched himself up to the window of Princess Bubblegum's lab like he has done so many times before. He jumped in through the window that was always open to give a way for fumes to leave the room. "Hey Princess! What's this I hear about-"he stopped and looked around, there was no one around. "What the? She never leaves her lab" Jake thought to himself. Jake looked at things on the tables, papers half written, test tubes still in the middle of being heated up, almost like she dropped everything and ran. He wanted to continue to look around for her, but he knew he might miss her if he left now, so he stretched his arm. He grabbed a white folding chair that was in the corner and pulled it underneath him and he sat down on top of it. His arms where crossed and he was steady staring at the door, ready for anyone at any moment to enter, and when they did they would be bombarded. Not by attacks, but by questions and acquisitions on who did what and why, when Jake protects his brother. He is very nonviolently aggressive, excluding the case with the Ice Kings a couple days back.
Suddenly a bottle about the size of a wine bottle was smashed on the back of Jake's head he instantly was knocked out, and he slowly feel back into his chair causing it to tip back and him and the chair fall onto their backs. Princess Bubblegum dropped the half of the bottle that was still in tack, it shattering on the ground. Peppermint slowly left the closet in the back where they both where hiding when they spotted Jake heading for the castle once again, they where sure Finn had told him. Most people who you ask to kill someone, aren't rats. Even if they choose not to take your contract, you can count on their discursion about sharing your offer. However she did not account for the Ice king's "turbo bro" status and he spilled the beans like it was a national pastime. None the less, she had Jake exactly where she wanted him, she looked over to peppermint butler who was standing by her, hands behind his back, awaiting orders from his princess. "Take him to the basement" She demanded, "Put him inside and then seal it". She ordered the little peppermint man. "of course princess", Peppermint Butler placed Jake in the bottom of the food cart he had brought up for Princess Bubblegum since she never seems to have time to venture out for food. None of the food was touched so he simply tossed Jake on top of it, it was some candy of course, designed to look like a hamburger and fries. The candy people may have had to eat candy all the time, but that doesn't mean they couldn't pretend that they were eating something else. Peppermint Butler kicked open the lab room door and pushed the cart containing Jake down the hall, down the elevator and eventually into the basement.
