But, thanks to a ZeKi AMV, I was able to do so - it was freaking AWESOME. It's from Dead by April and the effects were a-mazing xD
So, I'll be doing some more writing.
Oh yeah, there's gonna be a schedule (down at the bottom) of when I put updates onto this site. Yah.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE TOO SINCE I'M LIKELY TO FORGET IT AND YOU'LL THINK I'M A RUDE BEACH - yes I know how to spell... the b-word, but yeah.

Zeki Fan - Rah... too much effort, I think I'll still post the lemons. I mean, shiz load of people still post 'em here, ne?
CrystalVampire - Lol.
EzzieSkull - Thanks, like I said before, I think I'll post them. If the story gets deleted... so what. I mean, each different series has its... people... who are goody-two-shoes, on this site. I actually want to have a huge complain about it, but I'm sure that would get them to target this story. I'm sure that's why I've had others taken down, perhaps a sort of revenge? Whatever... lol.
Punk and Dragon Societies - Ikr. -shakes head- A shiz load of people hated the ending of this series.
TO PROTECT HER
Chapter 10
Yuuki's Point of View
Zero continued watching me wordlessly and then decided to kiss me, I tasted my metallic blood against his lips as I kissed back with the same amount of pressure he was doing to me. The man pulled me down so that he hovered over me. I was laying against the somewhat itchy straw of the hay that was beneath me. His lips kept up on the nibbling he continued to do. I sighed and moved my head to the side so that I could get a good breath of air, but Zero instantly pulled me back so that he could continue kissing me with hunger and passion.
The vampire moved his lips down so that he could attack and kiss at my neck. Once more, he was being very mindful of his razor sharp fangs. He moved upwards, his body still hovering over me. He dropped my lips as I watched the vampire above me. Zero's eyes were a bright, and haunting red. If a child – like I once was – stared into those eyes, they would be absolutely terrified. Me? Not so much. Those eyes… are very beautiful, dangerous… but striking.
"Your feelings… why do they always change?" Zero asked in a husky tone, his fangs hung over his lips. Blood (my blood) streaked his pale lips. He licked it away when he caught me staring. I stayed silent and watched him for a moment longer. The silver-haired Zero definitely was very, very attractive. I have heard of many, many people at school talking of Zero. Not badly, but because of how good-looking he was. I was a little… jealous over it all. Hm… it's odd. I didn't really think I would feel any of that feeling towards a boy, nonetheless Zero. But here I am. Able to be jealous of other girls. But what makes me smile is the fact he doesn't talk to them. Only me. Me. Not them. Me. "Hn?" the vampire grunted, getting my attention onto him once more.
I took a deep breath, now able to that without the possible chance of him attacking me (not in the bad way, of course). "See… I'm not one-hundred percent sure of my feelings, Zero. But I think I'm starting to get a clue. Just a little longer, and I'll be able to tell you the true answer." I said honestly. I still had something (I don't know what) for Kaname. I wanted to figure this out before I say anything. Silver eyebrows laced into a frown, before a fanged smirk made its way onto the vampire's mouth. I blinked. What was he…? Once more, he claimed my lips and let out a growl which vibrated towards me. I moaned softly and felt his red, hot glossa nudge my lower lip. I opened my mouth and allowed my fingers to tangle in his soft, silver locks. I gently pulled at them as we kissed.
At times, the both of us pulled away before meeting once more for a frenzied kiss. Zero's behaviour was very, very odd for this type of situation. Did he not hear me earlier? He pulled back again, as if hearing my thoughts, and let out a chuckle. "I will make you choose me over him, Yuuki. In a way, I'm better than him." He then frowned, something filling his thoughts. "Then again, if I lose control… I could end up -…" He stopped himself before shaking his head. The pale man stood up and helped me up before pulling out strands of hay which had decided to tangle within my brown hair.
"You won't, Zero." I said and then smiled at him. He sighed and then wiped his mouth once more with the back of his hand, probably to get rid of the last traces of blood. I watched as the red faded into a lovely moonstone lilac. His fangs also disappeared into larger than usual canines. I had noticed this about Zero, actually. He had slight – very slight – fangs that are very hard to see. "Ano… Zero… Do I have blood on me?" I asked and pointed at my lips. The vampire gave me a smirk before licking away the blood – without kissing me, might I add. I blushed big time. That… That… Not cool, Zero!
The vampire then sniffed. "I wouldn't be around Kuran for a bit, my scent is all over you. I'm sure that he'd go and hunt me down if he knew what I had been doing. I'm actually surprised that he hasn't done anything just yet. Tch… what's that bastard plotting…" Zero mumbled the last sentence more to himself than to me and had a quizzical look on his handsome features. Wait. I can't be around Kaname because of his scent? I didn't know that a vampire's sense of smell was that accurate. I actually wanted to ask now. "Hey, Zero… how good is your sense of smell?" I asked with a light smile that hopefully gave me more chance of him actually answering rather than pushing me off as a nuisance.
"Vampires often leave their scents on their prey or mates… in your case, you're more of a mate then my prey. Not that I have actually taken…" I blushed big time at that one. Was he seriously meaning sex? "… you. So there's no chance of my scent being on you all of the time. Just… be sure to clean yourself well when you go for a shower. Kuran would more than likely have my head if he even smelled a slight hint of my scent on you."
My lips formed an 'O' and he rolled his eyes. Now, I had another question. "How do vampires even mate?" Okay, I kinda regretted that one. He did say something about sex, but I wanted to know if there was anything else about it. He blinked and then his cheeks became slightly red. The vampire then turned his head and let out a groan. Was he actually going to answer me? I thought about it, and honestly thought that he wouldn't because of the… type of conversation this would turn into.
"I'd rather have myself explain it then Kuran…" he then shook his head and watched me again. "Well, a vampire often mates with another vampire. Even vampires of my class can actually do this, for whatever odd reason it is. A vampire often… does it with his mate. During the activity, he will bite into the female. In the case of purebloods and a human, the female or male is instantly turned into a vampire without the need of the pain that is felt for most transformations. Also, the female will instantly become a common vampire." Zero explained with the same cute blush from earlier appearing onto his face as he continued more. "With a vampire that is not a pureblood, and the female is a human, she will have her blood taken and a bond will form between the two. It's kind of hard to explain since it's never actually happened to me, Yuuki. From what I've read about and heard about, the bond is telekinetic." He noticed my look of confusion at the word 'telekinetic'. "That means that they can talk without actually saying anything; basically, through a mental connection."
I squinted at him as I took in this information. "Woah… that's quite complex, Zero." I then tilted my head a little, "Why on Earth do you know about that?" Zero growled at me the instant I asked. It seemed that I asked a question that he found rather pointless.
"Baka…" he muttered, "Last time I checked, I am – even though I do not like it – a vampire. It's something that I need to know, Yuuki. There is also a mating season for the vampire kind." He mumbled and then instantly closed his mouth before turning his body and then headed out the door without allowing me to comment. He… He has a mating season!? I wanna know more! And with that, I ran out the stables and couldn't find him. Fun. Now he's going to be hard to find for the rest of the evening. I then realized something; I was late for patrol!
It took me about ten minutes to get to the gates. This was because I had to pick up a quick bandage which was now wrapped around my neck so that nobody would ask questions about the twin bite marks. I stopped in front of the gates and saw all the crazy fan-girls being all excited about the Night Class. In a way, I understood why Zero hated it so much when he had to do patrol. But he has rarely ever had to do it on his own, other than that one time that I was sick a few months ago. But other than that, I have done this on my own many times.
I ran up to the front and then realized I had no whistle. And this made my day much, much harder. "Hey!" I cried out, to no avail. Nobody heard me. Then I heard the gates open. All of the crazy teenagers were neatly lining the path from the gate. I looked over and dashed to stand next to a shorter girl who looked to be a year younger. Kaname walked out first, and flashed me a smile before frowning to himself. What was that about? I then felt a hand on my shoulder, pulling me back. "Matte!" I screeched as I turned around to see Zero. He had come back already?
"What did I tell you?" he breathed into my ear. I thought about earlier and then realized. Zero said that I should wash myself before seeing Kaname. Dammit. Now, the pureblood was glaring at Zero as if he was the bad guy here. He made his way over, ignoring the shrieks of protest from the fan girls. His eyes were now on me and he shook his head before glaring once more at the vampire behind me. Great. Trapped between two potentially very, very peeved vampires. Fun. Not. "What is it you want?" Zero barked, his voice hoarse.
Kaname's voice which was so, so different to Zero's, voiced out, "Are you stupid?" His eyes narrowed as they fell on me once more. "Care to explain what you two have been doing? I'm sure that you, Yuuki, have no idea what this pesky vampire has been doing. He's been marking you as his own, allowing his scent to become yours. It's disgusting to smell Kiryuu as it is, now I have to deal with two different scents? It would be best to cleanse yourself, Yuuki and make sure that this vampire does not touch you in such a manor. I am sure that you're-…" I wouldn't allow Kaname to continue that sentence.
I butted in with a, "It's my life, not yours… Kaname." I hated it when people talked about Zero in such a manor, and I also hated it when people thought that they could control what I want. "Don't think that you can control what Zero and I do. If he wants to mark me, he can go ahead and do that. He can also touch me however he wants to." I growled and then watched Kaname's expression show a little hurt before becoming stoic.
"Fine. I will make sure that the chairman knows of this." Kaname muttered before stalking off.
Zero watched me with a little confusion, "Nani?" He mumbled. I smiled at him before laying a kiss on him, right in front of the fan girls. I am sure that they were angry with what I said to Kaname, but this set them right off. The vampire growled once more and pulled away, probably in a way to make sure that he would not hurt me or do anything such as reveal that he is a vampire. The silver-haired vampire looked at the fan girls who instantly ran off in fear of their lives.
"We should probably get to work, I'll talk to you about it later… Zero." I said. He nodded his head and went back to work. I, however, went elsewhere. Zero can look after these guys for a while. I needed some time to think. I sat on a rock that was close to the fountain and closed my eyes for a moment. Why did Kaname seem as angry about all of this as he was? He should know by now that I am fine with Zero doing what he wants. Well, not in the bad sense of course. But I am fine with him biting me.
And like Kaname had said, the chairman had learned of what had been happening. The honey-haired man was pacing in front of us, I was watching him while the silver-haired teen by my side seemed to be paying no attention to him at all. I found it a little amusing, to be honest. The man then stopped and pulled his glasses back onto his nose, "Kaname has told me that you two… are more than friends or siblings, it seems."
"And?" Zero said, voice cold and icy.
"Well…" the chairman started and then grinned, "This is excellent news!"
I stared at him, bewildered and totally confused, "H… Huh?"
Zero scowled, "What have you thought of, idiot?"
"Eh…" the chairman allowed a tiny tear to flow from his kind eyes, "You're so mean to me, Zero. Now… Now…" he regained a look of seriousness, "I know you know about certain… 'things'," the chairman did little quotation marks with his fingers, "… but I haven't even had-" Now, I could already tell what the man who had adopted me when I was younger wanted to say, "- the talk."
My mouth hanged open and I'm sure I looked like a total idiot, "But-But I-I-I already k-know what s-s-sex is…!"
Zero smirked, amused with the situation. "Heh…"
The chairman grinned, "But you haven't had your father," he said the word with emotion, "tell you about it. So it's different. Come on Yuuki." And my so-called 'father' dragged me off into the hall and to the spare bedroom to talk about things that I totally did not want to talk about.
After a few moments of me being scarred for life, the headmaster allowed me to return to his office to fetch Zero who was still waiting around. The silver-haired man glanced at me with a small (but noticeable) smirk, "How'd it go?"
"Um…" I blushed and then shook my head before pouting at him, "Let's just go, Zero."
The vampire shook his head, "I want to know what happened."
I think my blush deepened about ten-fold. "D-D-Didn't the chairman say that you-…"
He interrupted me with, "Iie. I wasn't meaning that. I was meaning what happened earlier."
"Oh?" I thought back and then nodded my head, "Kaname was just… bossing me around and trying to control my life… like usual."
"Why'd you say I could do whatever I wanted to do to you?" the vampire asked.
"I didn't say exactly that!"
"May as well have."
"But I didn't say tha-…"
"Just answer."
"'Cause I… trust you."
Zero froze before breathing out, "How?"
"What do you mean?"
"How can you trust me?"
"I just… do?"
"Tch… fine." Zero sighed before shaking his head.
"Well…" I ran my fingers through my hair, "You have to be happy to see me being scarred for life, ne?"
Zero glanced at me, and I noticed something – a mischevious twinkle. "Well… I could show you more…" his voice was hoarse and seductive, something that made me blush twenty different shades of crimson.
"Z-Zero-…"
"Come on." Seriousness returned to his voice, "I'm sure that Kuran is going to come and visit us… at least, to see if we did get in trouble."
"But we didn't, so why should we head back?"
"'Cause I'm not in the mood to put up with… him."
"Oh." I mumbled and bit my lip, stopping myself from saying too much more. "Well…" I looked around and noticed that the sun was going down – when did that happen? Oh well. "We should head back… Plus, I wanna talk to Yori."
"You're…" he looked at me with his beautiful, moonstone eyes, "… not telling her about what's going on, ne?"
I twiddled my fingers and looked away from his gaze, ". . ."
"You did, didn't you?"
"Are you… unhappy with that? Yori's… Yori's a close friend of mine, Zero."
"I know that, it's just…"
"Surreal?"
"Aa. Well… let's head back then."
Zero's lithe hand made its way to mine, enclosing my smaller hand in his larger one. It was… a touching gesture and it made me grin like a total moron.
I yawned and stretched my arms above my head before glancing at Yori who was to my side, "Who was the idiot who invented school?" I sighed out.
The petite teen by my side let out a small laugh, "I'm sure whoever made school just wanted to bully you over it, Yuuki."
I allowed my head to drop to the desk with a rather loud 'thump'.
"Is my class boring you, Cross-san?" the male teacher from the front asked with a rude tone, his eyes narrowing into slits. … Not that I saw that until later.
I mumbled, "To be honest… yeah…"
All of my classmates giggled – I was happy that Zero wasn't in this class, he would have gotten up me when nobody was watching.
I heard rough footsteps until it seemed darker, I looked up sheepishly. ". . ."
The teacher's eyes were angry and actually seemed menacing. I then noticed something, this teacher is new. He spoke, voice cold and cynical. It had no emotion to it, other than rage. "Get out!"
"Eh?" Now that surprised me. Never once had I been kicked out of a class for sleeping, or even back-chatting the teacher. But this one –
Yori watched me worriedly, "Y-Yuuki's a part of the disciplinary committee, you cannot blame her for being-…"
The teacher's angry, sapphire eyes darted to my orange-haired friend. "You… You are back-chatting me too?"
Her light brown eyes widened, "M-Matte – I wasn't-…"
"Out." The teacher snarled. "Get the hell out of my class."
I stood up, along with Yori, the both of us collected our things and filed out of the class. I couldn't hear any noises, other than that of my classmate's breathing and light snickers that were barely easy to hear.
The teacher followed us out before slamming the door behind him. I took in his appearance; he wore a black jacket with a blue collared shirt underneath, he wore black pants and wore black dress shoes. His hair was combed messily, with its black bangs hanging shamelessly over his eyes. His eyes… now they were different. Sure, they were sapphire, but now they looked to be a pale green. Maybe they changed in the different light – "I will not tolerate… bitches in my class."
My eyes widened as my mouth openly gaped like a fish, "You – We – But-?"
He licked his lips, "I will be talking to your father, Cross-san." His eyes then fell onto Yori, "And you! If you ever back-chat me," he glanced to me, "like this one, I will personally make sure you're punished. Now leave. I don't want anything to do with the two of you for the rest of the day."
"Where do you-…"
Slam.
Yori's eyes were still wide and she was shaking slightly, "What – What's his problem?"
I shrugged my shoulders and sniffed, "What's his name?"
The orange-haired teen ran a hand through her hair to neaten it up a little, "Fukashi."
I bit my lip, "Let's just go and see the chairman."
She nodded her head and we headed over to the man I counted as my father's office.
I knocked my fist against the door as I entered the room, "Headmaster?"
I smelled the scent of… smoke. Was he cooking fish in there again? I walked in, without knocking once more. Honey eyes looked up from underneath a pair of glasses, "Oh~! Yuuki-chan, Yori-chan!" he said – he was way too happy to see us. "Did one of the teachers want you to collect something from me?"
"Well-…"
The ex-vampire hunter walked over to his desk and went through the drawers to find a shiz load of books. He placed them on the desk. "I know Yagari-san wanted these from me, but I didn't think he would want them anytime soon."
"No-…"
"Or is it Melody-san?" he went through his drawer again and pulled out a small bag, "She wanted some dice, ne?"
"Head-…"
"Okay, okay… Aoba-san-…"
"No!" I interrupted, getting annoyed with this silly game of his, "A teacher called Fukashi sent us to you – well, he kicked us out of class, but-…"
His mouth gaped, "You – my perfect daughter was-was-…" tears fell out from his eyes comically at a fast pace, "Why!? Why was my beautiful, perfect, awesome, kawaii, lovely – and as you kids call it – sick daughter kicked out of class!?"
"Father!" I screamed.
"Huh?" he took his glasses off and wiped his eyes before giving me one of his famous serious looks that made him look much younger than he actually was. "What happened?" his voice matched his look.
"I don't… really know what-…"
Zero barged in, "Cross!"
The headmaster looked at him with a risen eyebrow, "What's wrong, Zero?"
The silver-haired hunter strode over to the owner of the academy, "Why the hell would you allow people to come and get me from class to-…" he noticed Yori and coughed.
Yori rose a brow at his behaviour, "Is there something I'm-…"
I smiled at her, "Don't worry about it. Zero's just really secretive about his business."
The vampire shot me a glare, "Tch… I'll talk to you later then." He headed to walk out.
"Matte." The headmaster said.
"What?" Zero snapped.
"I'll talk to you after I'm finished with these two, take a seat." He offered the chair to Zero, but the hunter turned his head in distaste.
"Okay…" I took a deep breath, "I was resting since… well… you know how our duty is in the school. Then he came over and got up me. He then said that I back-chatted. Yori then tried to tell him the situation, but he said that she was back-chatting and that we should both leave his class.
"He followed us out and called us…" I hated swearing, so I didn't swear, "… the b-word-" from the corner of my eye, I saw Zero stiffen visibly, "-and told us that he would talk to you about it."
The headmaster frowned, "No teacher has any right to call the students here any curse words, yet he did so. I will talk to him, but there's not much I can do… unless I fire him, but that would be impossible."
"Why?"
Everyone looked to Zero.
"He did break a rule here, he should be fired because of it."
Cross shook his head, "No… we're too low on teachers – many of them retired last semester, so I need to keep what I have. Plus, I've heard that Fukashi-san was rather good at his job. I wonder why he was in such a foul mood… Oh well. I'll find out later. Now, girls… just… go to the park and wait until the bell goes for your next class, okay?"
Yori and I nodded our heads.
We then did what were told from our headmaster.
When we arrived at the green park-like area at the front of the school, we headed to the tree we often sat at when we hung around here. I sat down, cross-legged, while Yori leaned against the bark of the tree. I looked around and silently noted that it was… really beautiful outside today. I smiled to myself a little.
Sayori looked to me, "What do have next?"
I looked at her, "Since we just had Japanese… we'll have maths."
The orange-haired teen nodded her head, "Oh."
I then ran my fingers through my short hair. I wondered why Zero had come to the chairman's office. I mean, he seemed rather aggravated and angry. Maybe he'll talk to me about it later? Who knows with him… He might not tell me though, it might be personal for him. And he will never tell me anything that I don't want to know about – I know that for sure.
"Yuuki?" Sayori murmured and peered at me underneath her dark eyelashes.
"Huh?"
A sly smirk made its way onto the usually quiet girl, "Have you and Zero… gotten back together, or…?"
I blushed and blinked – maybe three times? Either way, "Uh… I-I don't…"
She winked, "I won't tell anyone, Yuuki. You know that."
So… So out of character for her, "It's… kinda complicated."
"I saw the looks you two were giving each-other in science, and the look on Zero's face when some guy 'accidently' touched your butt!" she laughed and then shook her head, including a few giggles in at the same time.
I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, right…"
"No – No, I'm serious! He freaking looked like he could tear that guys neck out-" I swallowed and allowed myself that mental picture. Not pretty – not pretty – happy thoughts-… "-and I'm sure he would have done something to his dead body too!"
"You've been reading way too many horror novels, Yori-chan." I said with a faint grin.
"Okay, maybe. Or maybe not. Maybe he w-…"
"What are you two talking about?"
She gulped and coughed under her breath before looking over at the vampire that was walking to us with his hands buried deep inside of his pockets. "Well?" Zero asked and sniffed before looking at me, "What did she say?"
"Err… nothing." I knew I would so get asked about this later.
He reached his hand down, offering for me to take it. I took it and he helped me up, pulling me into his arms. He breathed into my ear as he nuzzled my head, "You'll tell me what she said, later, in exchange for what happened to me earlier."
That… is so… not fair.
Ring ring ring ding ring ring.
… Time to go to class.
