Title: You know our love would be tragic part ii: But I see nobody but you

Summary: That whole 'after tonight we can't do this anymore' speech, flew right out of the window.

This is a continuation from chapter 7 where Bonnie had an affair with her student, Damon. I still have a few more requests to write, and I'm also going to be adding a part 2 to a few of the previous written stories. So, hopefully you enjoy this chapter. And thank you for all of your support for the previous one-shots so far =)

Sorry for any grammar & editing mistakes.

Dick on demand. That's all it was supposed to be. Hell, it wasn't even supposed to be considered that at first. A one night stand that turned into a big ass mistake was supposed to be its only true definition. The second night, Bonnie would even use the 'getting pissed off and lonely on her birthday and he was there' excuse. But, then the third night came, and the fourth… and then that turned into a week and then a month. Those were definitely considered choices. Choices that surpassed what being truly wrong meant. And yet, instead of finally putting her foot down and walking away, she went on a sabbatical from thinking about everything that could go wrong and allowed herself to just feel. So, that whole 'after tonight we can't do this anymore speech' flew right out of the window.

Every day for the last two months, Damon Salvatore had been exploring every aspect of Bonnie's body. The way he serviced her was almost like he was trying to find the gateway to her soul through fucking. Even though she hadn't been intimate with anyone in several months, she still didn't expect to actually crave sex every night… especially from Damon. She had other offers from people her age or older, but still kept declining just to give it up to a guy six years younger than her.

Then there were the times she would catch him staring at her in class, making the arctic room feel like a sauna. It almost made her end class early and have him take her against her desk. It would be risky and adventurous and be able to quench her thirst until they met later. But, every time she got herself in that mindset, she wanted to put a stop to absolutely everything they were doing.

Caroline, of course, cheered her on; told her that cleaning out the dusty cobwebs in her va-jay jay was a good thing. That even though she's the teacher and he's the student, they were both legal and they were both willing. Her best friend still didn't seem to understand that she could lose everything because there was a no tolerance policy for teacher/student relationships. Then of course, Caroline proceeded to tell her she should quit and live off of his billions.

That, 'no way in hell, are you crazy' look, crossed Bonnie's face too quick.

Cutting all ties from him didn't stop after the conversation she had with Caroline, like she thought it would. Nope, she continued to call him in the middle of the night or during the day when they both had free time, and they would do things that probably surpassed some of the pornography she had seen. That's when they decided to come up with a clause, stating they would continue to hit each other up only when they were horny. If any feelings got involved or if they found someone new, then they would end it. Point blank.

But, boy was she ever wrong.

That clause was tested two weeks ago when she was leaving the gym with her childhood best friend, Rebekah Mikaelson. She was visiting for the week, and when they were leaving the gym, they almost ran smack dab into Damon with his arm around some girl's shoulder, as she laughed at something that was probably not even funny.

Bonnie had every intention of walking past them and pretending not to take notice, but his voice stopped her in her tracks. She tried her absolute best to hide any conflicting emotions she may have had.

"Dr. Bennett." His eyes traced her up and down, and other than Bonnie, Rebekah seemed to be the only other one to take notice.

"Oh, Hi Damon, how are you?" She put on her fakest act yet. She then turned to Rebekah. "Bexs, this is one of my students, and his…" She looked towards the brunette. Okay, yes, she wanted to be nosey, but if this was his girlfriend then he should have informed her so she could have nipped their situation in the bud.

Before Damon could say anything, the floozy, yes she called her a floozy, at his side, flashed her pearly whites and gripped onto his hand harder. "I'm his girlfriend, Elena."

So, she was right.

"Well, I don't want to keep you guys. It was nice meeting you, Elena. Hope you continue to enjoy the break."

Bonnie didn't give them another glance as she and Rebekah walked way. She had never been happier that classes were out for the week. She needed time before she saw him again.

Rebekah's theories on Bonnie having a secret love (even though that's not what they were) was laid to rest as soon as she witnessed them interact. That prompted a wine night to fill her in on exactly what had been going on where Damon was concerned. Bonnie didn't even know why she assumed Rebekah would be the level headed voice of reason, when she and Caroline were so much alike. All Bonnie could really ask for in return, was that Rebekah keep all the information to herself and not involve her over protective brothers, who considered Bonnie part of the family too.

She definitely didn't need to get them involved, especially when she spent a couple years dating one of them and he still had a thing for her. But, that was another story for another time.

That night, after Rebekah and Caroline left, because the 'night was still young', Bonnie chose that time to watch a movie until she succumbed to sleep. The sleep part didn't happen and she barely paid attention to the movie, because her inebriated mind decided to call Damon, informing him she was done and not to contact her anymore. They would just keep it professional from now on.

He was at her house thirty minutes later, telling her that he and Elena were not together and she always did that shit when he talked to a pretty woman. Even if she was his professor. Their parents apparently wanted them to get together and every time she came to visit, they always forced them to spend time with each other. Elena was all for it. Damon wasn't.

She still didn't buy it. She was use to situations like this with clients she's had over the years, and just people she came into contact with. She wasn't going to be played for a fool. But after she asked if he was fucking her and he informed her he wasn't, she realized that she almost broke the agreement they had. If he wasn't trying to get in a romantic relationship with the girl, than she shouldn't care. None of it should bother her, except it did.

And that added onto the agreement that they wouldn't have sex with anyone else until they were ready to move on. Bonnie, of course, explained that it was only to be safe, and not having to worry about the other one contracting anything. Yep, that was the only reason.

The only reason.

That night, he fucked her from behind against the sink in her kitchen. He whispered in her ear that her jealousy turned him on. Through gritted teeth and stifled moans, she informed him that she was nowhere near the green eyed monster.

So, after all of that, here she was weeks later and two months deep, waking up on Damon's chest. When she realized the positon they were in, she jumped up so quick she almost fell out of bed. Sleeping over was a definite no-no, and although it wasn't the first time it happened, it was definitely going to be the last.

Catching a glimpse of her clock before she stood up, she saw that it was a little after ten in the morning, and she cursed internally at the realization that she missed her hot yoga class. That was yet another reason why she should just end their friend's with benefits right now. Wait, could she even call it friends with benefits? They weren't technically friends. Was fuck buddies more appropriate? But, they weren't exactly buddies either. Whatever terminology they were using to describe their situation, it needed to stop.

Her mind was like a broken record as she told herself every reason why she should stop screwing her student. The first few reasons were obvious, but then came the ones the snuck up on her. It was her actually being jealous when she witnessed him and that girl a few weeks ago, it was wanting to cuddle into him after sex, it was when he cooked for her a few times, and then it was how she thought about actually being seen in public with him. All of those details could harm the situation and they should be the main reasons she ended it between them.

Her phone vibrating caught her attention, and she rolled her eyes when she saw who it was.

Kai.

Again.

This wasn't the first time he called this week and it most likely wouldn't be the last, so against her better judgment, she picked up the phone.

"What do you want?" she whispered.

"Good morning to you too," His voice was a little too loud in her ear. "Why are you whispering?"

"Caroline slept over last night and I don't want to wake her." The lie came a little too easy out of her mouth. And maybe she shouldn't have lied. Why should she care if her ex fiancé knew she was riding another guy last night.

"Tell her I said hello."

"Kai, what do you want? Why do you keep calling me?" Because it was annoying and frustrating as hell.

"Well if you must know, I'm in the city on business, and I want to take you to dinner."

"No." She deadpanned.

"Come on Bons, it'll be like two friends catching up. Isn't that what we were supposed to be after the break up?"

"We never established that." She looked over to see Damon turn onto his side, but still sleep nonetheless.

"Look, Bonnie I miss you. And I know you have every right not to want to see me again, but please. Just go to dinner with me, and I'll leave you alone. I won't bother you anymore… please."

Bonnie took a deep breath. She could quickly call bull shit and explain that he just wanted that level of control that he tried so hard to have in their relationship, but she could hear the sincerity in his voice. As much as she and Kai got into it, she knew him. She understood him. And she didn't have to look him in the his eyes to know when he was telling the truth.

She didn't realize that she had been silent for a while until he said her name again.

"Fine, I'll meet you."

She hung up the phone right after he told her the address.

"Caroline again?"

Damon's voice almost made her drop her phone. She sure used Caroline as a scapegoat a lot.

"Try ex fiancé." She said, as she got back in bed beside him.

Surprisingly she didn't lie to Damon, like she should have. Especially when she noticed him tense up.

"What did he want?"

"Dinner tonight," She shrugged.

"And you're going?"

That's when her eyes found his and she could tell that he was a bit hurt but trying to hide it.

"I said I would. Look, it's not…"

He got out of bed and proceeded to put on his pants before she could say anything else.

"What's the problem?" she asked, standing up to face him.

"There's not a problem."

"Well, you're getting dressed like you're about to have a fit, and that vein that protrudes out of your forehead when you're mad is happening right now. So, you want to try that again."

He just ignored her.

"Damon…" She didn't know why she found herself trying to touch his shoulder. Maybe it was to reassure him that nothing was going to happen with her and Kai, but she didn't get a chance to even do that before he moved away from her.

"You know I just think it's real fucked up how you spend almost everyday fucking me, but you're going to go back to someone who treated you like shit….someone that's in your past."

Well, she wasn't really expecting that outburst, but so be it.

"I'm not going back to him! I'm going to dinner. Two different things. I don't even see what the problem is. We're not together, so it's not like I'm cheating on you. All this is… us… its lust and its sex. Don't confuse it for anything else."

"If you really think that's all this is, then maybe we should just end it."

Bonnie was a little taken back, but she sure as hell wouldn't show it.

"Maybe we should."

He was out of her house in no time, and even though Bonnie should have been ecstatic that they finally done with things, her heart decided to take that exact moment to prove her mind wrong.

"I wish you would stop starring at me."

"You're beautiful, how can I not."

Kai Parker knew how to turn on the charm. One minute she would detest his guts and the next he would use that voice on her that made her melt and try to weasel his way back in.

But, that was the past, because it sure as hell didn't affect her now.

"Kai, what is that you really want? Why are you here? Because I'm 100% positive this isn't a business trip."

"You know me so well. I'm looking for places down here." He grabbed her hand, and instead of moving it away she kept it still. "I want to be with you, Bonnie. I know we've been through some crazy shit in the past, but I messed up and I'm ready now. I'm ready to put all that aside and be there for you. I miss you so much. My family misses you. It's not the same and these past two years without you… I…"

Before he could continue, people in the far corner, singing happy birthday, interrupted them. Bonnie didn't even notice until now that Damon was here and it was him they were all singing too.

Well, now she felt like shit for not even remembering it was his birthday. No wonder he was extremely pissed earlier, well, that, and the reason why she was here tonight.

And apparently, he had already spotted her because his eyes were on hers the whole time. There was this sly smirk on his face, as two women on both sides of him kissed his cheek. One being that Elena girl from weeks ago.

Well, her appetite was officially ruined.

She looked back at Kai and faked a smile, "I have to go to the restroom."

Bonnie was out of her seat before he could say anything.

The cold water on her face helped, and she was glad she was the only one in here, because she needed just a small moment alone.

But of course, someone had to walk in and ruin it. She was just surprised to find Damon entering.

"This is the girl's bathroom."

"So that's him?" He stood behind her, causing her to turn around and face him. "Not much to look at."

"You should get out of here before someone comes in." She walked passed him, but he gently grabbed her hand, stopping her in her tracks. "Damon…"

"I miss you."

"You just saw me this morning and well… and well you shouldn't. You shouldn't miss me. You obviously have enough women out there to make you forget all about me."

"That's not possible." He caressed her cheek. "Besides, I'm not the one on a date with an ex fiancé."

"I told you before, it's not a date."

He pulled her into one of the stalls.

"What are you doing? Someone could walk in." Someone was probably definitely going to walk in.

"I'm jealous okay." He admitted, as he caressed he cheek. "I'm jealous that you could go back to him and I don't want that. You deserve better than that."

Why she cupped his face and kissed him softly on his lips, she would never understand. "I'm not going back to him, that's something I can promise you."

When their foreheads touched, this feeling coursed through Bonnie that she didn't want to explain. Because if she did…actually explaining what she was feeling right now, would open up a whole new can of worms, and she just wasn't ready for that yet.

"Happy Birthday by the way." She whispered into his mouth.

It was probably the shortest quickie Bonnie had ever experienced in her life, but they both got off, and she was more than grateful that no one came in. That was nothing but pure luck.

"I thought you may have gotten lost." Kai said, as soon as she sat down across from him.

"Caroline called me while I was in there and she was having a crisis." Another lie involving Caroline, but she was 100% positive that her best friend did the exact same thing when it came to her.

And because of everything that just happened in the bathroom, she couldn't really concentrate. She knew she couldn't be here with Kai, and he knew it too.

"So, back to what I was saying earlier," He grabbed her hand in his again. "Bonnie, I…"

"Kai," She cut him off and squeezed gently onto his hand, "I appreciate you taking me here. I know why you wanted too, but look, you know we can't get back together. Our relationship, it wasn't healthy, and honestly, we really don't even need to be communicating with each other. We were both committed to our work, we both had tempers, and you always wanting to be in control was exhausting. We were awful to one another." She paused for a moment, seeing the hurt in his eyes. "No matter what, you were a really big part of my life, but we're on two different paths and we're not good for each other. I'm sorry, but we're not getting back together… ever."

When she tried moving her hand away, he held onto it tighter… squeezing it to the point it was almost painful. She saw the anger and menace in his eyes. And this was the moment she needed… the moment she knew that he hadn't changed and that he wasn't going too.

"Why did you even agree to come if you weren't going to get back with me?"

"Because you said if I did, you would leave me alone forever. Did you forget that fast?" She yanked her hand away, and tried to stretch it out. "This right here…is the main reason why we will never go back."

She wasn't joking when she said that she and Kai had tempers when it came to one another. Three years into their relationship, they got into it so bad that they actually both got physical with each other. Kai hit her and she went in on him. The police came and everything.

And instead of following the advice she gave to some of her clients, she went back to him. They never got physical again, but the arguments continued to happen until a year later when she made the decision to leave. In her eyes, and probably the friends who knew about it, that made her a hypocrite for staying as long as she did. Especially for all the times she's helped people out of abusive relationships. She wasn't perfect, she knew that. She had her flaws, so she tried not to beat herself up about it, and move past it.

And being here tonight, with him, it was wrong. She didn't even know what she was thinking.

As she put some money down on the table, to pay for her meal, she left him sitting there alone.

Kai Parker was out of her life forever.

Her plans were to go straight home, but instead she went to Caroline's house. She needed their usual wine night. No, she needed its substitute. Bourbon. It wasn't the Kai thing that bothered her, that emotion for him was long gone, but now her mind was fully on the reason she was drinking from the bottle.

Damon Salvatore.

She had feelings for him that went beyond just lust. What the hell was she going to do?

A/N: Thank you all for reading part 2. I don't know if I'll continue this specific one-shot, but I do plan on continuing a few more and like I said earlier, finish a few more requests.

In this fic, Bonnie is someone who always has it together, but she has had plenty of walks on the wild side. She has a past, and just by reading, I'm sure you can tell it's a bit crazy. Which brings me to Rebekah and the Mikaelson's. I know in a few stories I have Bonnie being close with them and I can't help it cause I just love Bonnie with them, yet being romantic with Damon lol.

Okay, but anywho, I hope you all enjoyed and please review and let me know what you think.
