Chapter 11: The Fight Inside the Seal
Rymer looked back. The theme park had disappeared. In front of him, the big stone castle stood, waiting for him. He didn't think about it twice, he grabbed his collar and walked right in through the entrance bridge.
"A new world?" asked Mana. What did he mean?
"A realm you know very well, the realm you belong," said Aboslute " the Shadow Realm."
Mana didn't make a sound. Turning back to being Dark Magician Girl wasn't part of her plans. She looked at Dark Magician, he hadn't moved ever since Absolute started talking. What was he thinking? Did he want to go back?
"You will help me fulfill this dream," proclaimed Absolute.
She turned and faced Dark Magician. Her body was still under the spell. The man with the armor approached her. Dark Magician stood up and held his staff in the air. Absolute raised his sword and materialized Mana's staff under it. Mana wasn't sure how did this man knew where her staff was, she had hid it since she turned human. But there it was, floating in front of her.
"Now Mana, grab the staff and join it with Dark Magician's" commanded Absolute.
Mana tried hard to resist, but the spell was too strong. She looked at Dark Magician, her face full of sadness, but Dark Magician was smiling.
"Mana, this is the right way, this is how we will be together again" said Dark Magician.
"This is not how I want it to be, this is forced, this is not you." She replied.
"Didn't you hear the lady, this isn't what she wants."
The words echoed around the room. A yellow 8 point star appeared on the ground, The Sacred Seal. A boy with blond hair and an arrow point collar entered the chamber. He had felt this before, a feeling like no other, a feeling of power; this was surely his tool against magic. The seal was as big as the chamber itself, and created a circular barrier on its limits.
"Arrow Point child, you come at last." Said Absolute.
"Let her go." Said Rymer. He had ignored Absolute completely, and only looked at the Dark Magician.
"Your words mean nothing to me, Rymer Daze. You may have defeated me once, but no more." Said Dark Magician.
His arrow point was floating in front of him, still held by its collar. Rymer didn't understand, what did the Dark Magician mean? He fought him once on the Cruise of Roses, that's for sure. But was there another time?
"I don't know what you're talking about," said Rymer, "but let Mana go."
"Master, please, let me deal with this human, he needs to pay for what he's done" said Dark Magician.
Absolute nodded, granting Dark Magician permission to fight. He moved Mana, who was still under his spell to his side. This was a battle he wanted to see, he desired to witness the outcome. "The Arrow Point child doesn't understand, what the Sacred Seal means, or what it does. The power contained inside that collar, he doesn't know where it came from, he doesn't know its purpose" he thought.
"Are you ready to die?" asked Dark Magician.
"I'm not; I have a lot of things to do, to experience, to live. My life its not going to end here. And you're not having Mana!" replied Rymer.
"It doesn't matter, it ends now" said Dark Magician.
A dark purple beam came out of his staff targeted to Rymer. He jumped in the air dodging it just in time. "How did I do that? Was that… the Seal?" he thought. But he didn't have time to think, it was time to attack, time to hold on to what was important, to save who was important.
Dark Magician quickly teleported behind Rymer and casted another beam. This time Rymer didn't have time to dodge, he thought desperately on one of his cards, "Big Shield Gardna!". As soon as he thought of it, the Gardna with the shield appeared in front of him, blocking Dark Magician's beam and disappearing. "What did just happen?" he thought "So if I think of my cards, somehow…they materialize. It must be… The Sacred Seal!"
"I don't know what you did, but you're just trying to prevent the inevitable" said Dark Magician.
"I'm starting to understand what the seal does. It's going to be the end for you" said Rymer.
After a quick teleport, Dark Magician appeared in front of Rymer, and casted Spellbinding Circle on him. Rymer wasn't able to move at all, despite all he tried. "It's over, boy." Dark Magician said with a smirk on his face. "I don't need a spell to finish you; I can use my own strength." He raised his staff upwards. Mana wanted to look away, she wanted to scream, to help Rymer at all costs, but she was bound by Absolute's spell. A tear came out of her right eye.
"Stop" she thought.
Rymer looked up, the staff was above his head. He needed something, a card that would change his situation, a… "Scapegoat" he thought. The staff came down with incredible speed, but Rymer wasn't in the Spell Binding Circle anymore, and a Scapegoat received the hit. "I'm not done yet." Rymer said behind Dark Magician. Absolute smirked under his armor. This was a fine battle indeed, the battle he was aiming for, so much power would feed the Sacred Seal. That power, would help him achieve his goals.
"Disappear from this world" Dark Magician said while turning. "Diffusional Wave Motion!"
Another attack came out of his staff. Rymer thought in Big Shield Gardna again, but this time, nothing happened. "Wait what?" he thought. He received a direct hit from the spell and was sent flying to the edge of the Sacred Seal. His body hit the barrier and fell to the floor. He coughed while standing up, there was blood on the floor, his blood. "What happened? Maybe, I can only use cards the I own, and each time I use one, it goes away?"
"I'm not letting you catch your breath," said Dark Magician getting close to him. "Heavy Storm!"
Forceful winds began to rise from the floor and threw Rymer right towards the ceiling, breaking a hole on it with him. It was dark outside, the attack had sent him really high. The moon was shining fully as he began to descend. He needed a strategy, or else, he would lose Mana and his life. This wasn't a game anymore, nor a duel, this was a battle, to the end.
Dark Magician teleported to the ceiling, it was time to finish this. One more spell and he would be with the love of his life again, without any interruption at all. He looked down, she was there, trapped inside Absolute's spell. "Why is the Master being so desperate to do the Seal again?" he thought "This is no time to question myself, this will be the end for Rymer Daze. One more attack!"
"Dark…"
"Please…" thought Mana.
"Magic…"
"Don't do this…"
"Attack!" exclaimed Dark Magician pointing his staff to a falling Rymer.
"It's over." Absolute said. "That boy wasn't going to understand the power of the Sacred Seal anyways. His fate was sealed since the Seal was summoned to this place."
"No, it won't be over. He never surrenders, he has showed me his bravery, his power, a power that comes from the heart; will always be more powerful than darkness." Mana yelled "Rymer, don't give up!"
"It's too late, my attack already reached him. His already gone from… What?" Dark Magician gasped.
On Rymer's both sides two cylinders were floating as he came down. The right one was absorbing the Dark Magic Attack. "Magic Cylinder! I will never give up to the likes of you." He yelled at Dark Magician. "Take something of your own, Dark Magic Attack!"
The left cylinder shoot a purple beam of magic to the Dark Magician, he was hit directly by it, making a hole on the ceiling. His body hit the ground of the throne chamber. Mana gasped, what could have happened. Rymer landed on the floor, two wings sprouted from his back. "Trascendental Wings! Have you had enough?" asked Rymer.
"Why..you.." said Dark Magician barely. That last attack packed a punch, he felt that it contained more strength than the original attack. But how could that be, if he Magic Cylinder returns the same amount of power. "Is the Arrow Point helping him?" he thought.
"That would be enough, Dark Magician" said Absolute moving from the throne. The man in the armor walked in front of the fallen Magician. "You have fought well, but your power is not sufficient to fight against the Arrow Point Child."
"But Master, I… can beat him… just let me."
"You can't beat him, that's something you can't understand. You have casted a lot of magical energy, that's part of the energy needed for the seal to be whole again, for me to create a whole new world. I appreciate what you've done, now, be gone to the shadows." Absolute raised a hand and pointed to Dark Magician.
"Wait… Master…"
"Good bye, Dark Magician" said Absolute.
A pool of darkness appeared under the Dark Magician. He wanted to move, but his body didn't respond. The pool was pulling him down. He looked at Mana. "She's crying, is she crying for me?" he thought. He closed his eyes, his plan had failed; but at least he got to see her again. She needed to know the truth, the truth about who Rymer Daze really was, and what his intentions are. He needed to break free from pool, but how. He didn't have time though; the pool vanished in a few seconds, taking him away.
"He won't be bothering us anymore, Arrow Point Child." Absolute said looking at Rymer.
"Who are you? What are you doing this? Let Mana go!" his thoughts were in disorder, he couldn't speak straight.
"The question is boy," said Absolute raising his light and darkness sword. "Who are you?"
"What?"
Absolute charged towards Rymer with a quick sprint. Rymer took flight and looked at his opponent; this wasn't the time to think about what he just said. But something told him, that he needed to know what this was about.
"What do you mean, who am I?" asked Rymer.
"Oh it seems you are not aware, you like to toy with people's minds, don't you?" he asked.
Rymer had heard those words before, in the Cruise of Roses when he fought Dark Magician's Dark Soul. Those words exactly. If he liked to toy with people's minds, what was that about? He needed to know.
"If you don't tell me, I'll make you explain! Raigeki!" yelled Rymer summoning a thunderbolt on his right hand, and throwing it at Absolute.
"You're the one, the one who summons the Sacred Seal. But you're still a child!" Absolute raised his left hand. "Magic Jammer!"
A circle of magic appeared and absorbed the whole bolt. Rymer didn't realize this, he was the one summoning the Sacred Seal, and so this was his power from the beginning. That had to mean something, and he felt it had to do with his Arrow Point collar.
"The Sacred Seal taps into your darkness, into the evil that exists inside every one of us, in some it is strong, in some it is weak. If your will is weakened, a Dark Soul may be created when you try to summon the Seal." Absolute explained "It is funny, how Mana clings to you like you're her only hope, not knowing all that you've done to her."
"What are you talking about?" asked Rymer. "I haven't hurt Mana!"
"Oh but you have Rymer Daze…" said Absolute. "Right Mana?"
Mana looked up to where Rymer was. She didn't want to believe it. Dark Magician had said he tried to rape her the day Dark Magician disappeared. Was all of that true? It couldn't be, it just couldn't.
"Tell him Mana. Tell him the truth." Absolute commanded.
"I won't." Mana said "I refuse to believe that."
"Tell him, I command you." Absolute raised his left hand towards Mana. Her eyes turned blank, and she looked down. She then raised her head. She looked at Rymer. Her eyes were red and there was an evil grin on her face.
"You, you entered my house." Mana said with a voice empty of all feeling. "You assaulted me, and tried to rape me."
Rymer couldn't believe what he was hearing. That wasn't true; he would never dare do such a thing. But why was she saying it? Was she being controlled? Was this another illusion?
"Absolute!" yelled Rymer. "Let go of Mana and face me! Raigeki Break!"
A thunder beam bolted out of Rymer's finger, aimed directly at Absolute. He smirked and raised his left hand towards the ray of electricity. "Trap Jammer!" he casted, dispelling Rymer's attack. "It seems you have trouble handling the truth, I'll make it easier for you."
He moved Mana closer to him. "Polymerization!" he exclaimed. His armor detached itself from his body, revealing only darkness, and attached to Mana's body. The dark suspended matter fused with Mana, while Rymer's eyes were wide open.
"Is this easier for you?" said Mana. Her voice had changed; it was like two voices at the same time, hers and Absolute's. Mana quickly teleported in front of Rymer and raised the light and darkness sword. "This place will be your grave!"
