Marshall Lee grinned sinisterly and flipped them over again, flying quickly in the warm air. She held onto him around his neck and buried her face. After a minute or two of flying and making fun of strangely shaped demons, they arrived at Hanna Abadeer's front door. Marshall Lee set May down on her feet and didn't even knock to walk in.
There, in the dining room sat Hanna Abadeer; dark blue skin, black hair in a neat bun, white button up shirt and a purple pencil skirt. Across the circular table sat Peppermint Maid in her little blue maid outfit.
The two were playing cards and by the look of the table cluttered with jars of souls and poker chips, they were playing for fun.
"Marshy!" Hanna cheered. "Perfect timing! I need to borrow your friend."
"No, you are not allowed to come near my friend."
"Marshall, who-"
Hanna appeared before May with her hand held out formally. "I'm Hanna Abadeer, ruler of the Nightosphere and Marshall Lee's mother. And you are?"
May looked up at Marshall and kept her separately shackled hands at her sides. "I'm May."
Marshall lead May by her shoulders around Hanna and down a hallway. He called over to his mom, "We're leaving in just a second mom, don't try anything funny."
"Wouldn't dream of it sweety!"
They walked into a small room with black walls that looked like a gothic child's bedroom. Marshall slid open a creaky closet and shifted though it. May stood awkwardly. "Why are we here?"
"I'm looking for my crown since everyone thinks I'm a hobo." He then stood and let out a frustrated sigh. "It's not here."
Peppermint Maid stood at the doorway. "Looking for this?" She said sweetly, holding the king's crown.
Marshall hissed lowly. "Why do you have that?"
"Oh, I just won a game with your mom." She giggled.
"What?! Oh glib globit! Ok, give it to me!"
"Ah, ah," she teased. "You know how the Nightosphere possy works. Deals are deals."
"I bet you cheated."
"Not this time... Hehehe, maybe a little."
Marshall sighed. "What do you want for it?"
"Her soul."
"What?!" May squeaked. Marshall growled in annoyance.
"No, pick something else."
"Hm... How about your flesh?"
He groaned but reluctantly nodded, "Fine two mouthfuls only and it wont be willingly."
She grinned creepily, teeth pointed, her black eyes glowing eerily "I'll take it from you in your sleep."
He scoffed, "Good luck with that. Now get out of here!"
"Whatever man," she turned around and tossed the pointy crown behind her. The crown flew past Marshall and hit May, top end first. None of the spikes did any damage exept for the largest front spike which sliced a sizable cut on her left shoulder.
May stood still for a second, prossesing what just happened. She took in a large, slow breath. "MOTHER OF GLIBBEN GLOB NUT BUTT GOB GLOBER BUTT LEMONS GLIBS IN THE NIGHTOSPHERE!"
"Damn." Marshall said. "What are you doing Batty?"
"I THINK I'M BLEEDING MARSHALL!"
"Do you want a band aid or something?"
"Why didn't I think of that." May growled though her teeth.
Marshall shrugged and floated out of the room. The human clutched her shoulder, and finally let out a whimper she'd been holding in. Marshall floated back in moments later with a ball of gauss. There was a moment of the two awkwardly staring at each other.
May sighed. "Help?"
Without a word, Marshall floated behind her and helped her take off her torn black sweater. Her red tank top was soaked in warm, dark blood. Marshall decided he wouldn't breathe at all for a while.
"J-just... Wrap it over my shirt. Zi can help me later."
With May's shoulder wrapped up, Marshall floated to his closet and grabbed a dark blue flannel shirt with green plad stripes and tossed to her.
May buttoned it up and laid down on his bed, utterly exhausted.
"Hey Batty! Catch!"
Marshall pretended to throw a sword at her, making her involuntarily flinch.
"You can go eat some eggs Marshall Lee!"
May couldn't help but grin as he chuckled and floated over to her with the black bladed sword in hand. He then handed it to her and she gave him a questioning look. "You needed a sword didn't you?" He said defensively.
Zi sat in her seat, processing the information. Mark was back on her head and whispered sadly, "So romantic..."
The comment was ignored as Bee Princess huffed and put her hands on her hips. "They broke my law, they went in the dungeon. Simple as that."
"I'm the Vampire King, son of the ruler of the Nightosphere-"
"And I'm Batman!" Mark cheered.
Marshall paused and continued. "And it's against the royal laws to imprison another royal."
"You showed no proof of royalty." She smirked. "Though I see now that you have your crown, covered in May's blood no less. You'll do anything to break my red laws Vampire King."
Marshall clenched his fists at his sides. "She's losing. She's messing with me because she's losing. Well two can play at that game Hunny."
"It really is a shame you know..." Marshall started. He floated with his arms crossed and stomach to the ceiling. It's was a wonder how his crown stayed in place on his upside-down head.
"The color of a bees blood is light amber, but a bee persons blood has more of a reddish tint to it. I've tasted it before about... Twenty years ago? Yeah that seems you see, when vampires get a taste of blood, specifically vampires with no self control, it becomes addictive."
Marshall reached a hand to her and cut a paper thin cut on her lower arm. She gasped and Marshall took the single drop of amber-red blood to his lips. His eyes changed from black to red like a cat's pupil when it's has catnip.
The vampire king flipped his body in the air so that he was floating upright. He then spit on the ground and made a repulsed face. "Rotten."
The room was frozen. The air was thick. Only one being in the universe could cut this atmosphere.
"DAAANG SON!" Said the knit hat of a toenail.
