Chapter 11: The Hall of Origins

I'm sorry, I meant to get this chapter posted a lot sooner but school and holiday stuff kinda just happened everywhere and I found myself quickly distracted by everything. Also, despite combing over this chapter with what feels like a ridiculous amount of times of editing, it doesn't feel 'complete' somehow but I can't seem to make it any better.

I received a review that felt I am putting too much emphasis on the 'bad guy' chapters as this is a story between Groudon and Derick. I think I agree with this review so future chapters featuring bad guys will be reduced. Thankfully I think I progressed the enough that they don't need to have their own chapters for awhile and we can go back to focusing on Groudon.

I've been writing a couple chapters ahead, coming back now and then to review and edit previous chapters before posting so the next chapter is already written and shouldn't be long before it's posted as well. I will try to upload more frequently from now on, but this college student makes no promises.

Feel free to leave feedback on your thoughts.

I don't own Pokémon

Things didn't go exactly as planned. We ambushed the legendary as they left their safe haven. But not many emerged from the entrance and we found ourselves with less legendary captured than initially expected. And after waiting for nearly a week we realized that none the others were going to come out. This was reinforced by the fact that we had reported sightings of the legendary around the globe suggesting they had an alternate route to leave whatever realm they were hiding in. Spear Pillar may have been the front doors of their safe haven, but clearly it was not the only way in or out. At the very least the other legendary don't appear to have a clue as to our actions here, for now.

A distraught roar brought me out of my thoughts as Dialga and Palkia fought against their bonds from the machines we built to contain them. These legendary were the masters of time and space itself. It was pointless to believe throwing a mere ball, even if it had a one hundred percent guarantee rate of capture, would be effective against the two Pokémon that can travel through time and space effectively altering realities. No, we needed special machines to restrain them and restrict their ability to use their power shortly after they left their realm.

The machines were originally designed to only contain. But with these new circumstances, I decided that I needed to adapt them to a better use. In this case, my scientists were currently modifying the containment units to become a key to the legendary dimension. We are going to force Dialga and Palkia to open the door for us.

This may seem unnecessary as I can simply just catch them then force them to obey my whim. But we are short on time as it is. The Legendary can resist the modified Master Balls when they are first captured. It takes time to corrupt and subdue them to a point that they obey obediently our every command. As it is the few legendary we have already been still resisting basic commands and we don't have the time to waste taming the two responsible for guarding the entrance to their realm. It is much more efficient in this case to modify a machine that obeys without question than to force two legendary to do a simple task. A task they would be most resilient to.

Besides, while I promised an officer of mine these two legendary, I don't trust anyone with the power to bar me out of the Hall of Origins before I can capture the God of all Pokémon themselves. The Red Suns have been on their best behavior lately. But I found these past few months there is more people I can't trust. While I surrounded myself with my most loyal subjects on this endeavor, I cannot be certain their loyalty will remain with me if I allow them to have an edge over me, temporary or not.

Feeling a tap on my shoulder, I turned to face Eclipse. She has been working very hard these past couple days, making me very confident in her loyalties to the cause. Despite her youth and high expectations, she has conquered every task I put in front of her and then some. Earning my topmost respect for her in her field of work. I had even offered Dialga and Palkia to her first, thinking that as a scientist she'll applicate the ability to mess with time and space but she refused. Instead requesting Groudon and Kyogre as her reward for reasons I don't understand, nor care to.

"The containment units are ready to power up sir! We are ready to open the door to the Hall of Orgins when you are! …Sir!"

Finally! "Go ahead Eclipse. Get the everyone ready and expect heavy resistance when we enter. I imagine we may still have the element of surprise but these are the most powerful Pokémon in existence. Make sure everyone's fully prepared and ready for a fight of their lives."

"Yes Sir!" Eclipse ran off to address the grunts. I moved to the front of the assembling group so that I'd be the first to pass the threshold. My ears throbbed to the noise that began to consume us. The sound of Pokémon being released by their masters, sounds of weapons, and the sounds of stomping as my army prepared and positioned themselves. The sounds of the legendary pained roars as the machines forced their power out of themselves, cracking energy and opening a bright powerful portal out of a seemly empty space of darkness. The sounds of my army that filled my veins with adrenaline and brought power to my voice,

"TONIGHT, WE MAKE HISTORY! TONIGHT, TEAM ROCKET WILL MARCH INTO THE SAFE HAVEN OF THE LEGENDARY AND CLAIM IT AS OUR OWN! TONIGHT, WE CONQUER THE HALL OF ORGIN! TOMORROW, THE RED SUNS FALL! TOMORROW, TEAM ROCKET WILL STRIKE FEAR INTO OUR ENEMIES! TOMORROW, TEAM ROCKET WILL CONQEUR THE WORLD!" And with my men cheering from behind I stepped into the portal.

It was beautiful. The halls where structured like you would expect from ancient times with marble pillars and gilded doors and walls. Various designs made from the Unknown language littered the walls with stories and tales that I'm sure and archeologist would die to discover. Rays of light filtered from seemingly nowhere on the ceiling and everything was pristine and clean. Even if a bunch of animals were the only residents.

But the Hall was not my main focus. Across the realm was the entity I been searching for these past grueling months. Sitting high and mighty it's pedestal frown upon our arrival. The legendary in the surrounding area immediately rushed to confront me, but I paid them little mind as my subjects intercepted them and did their job to keep them off me. My focus was only on my prize. It moved to a battle stance as I calmly walked over to its magnificence. I my right hand I held a Pokéball that concealed my Nidoqueen while in my left hand fumbled with a Master Ball behind my back. I looked into the eyes of my target and allowed my smug grin to rule my features.

"Hello Arceus."
