Author's Notes: Really want to kick start this fic into the action/ good parts. Just a little reminder still a slash fic, just wanted to break the tension with more aspects so it doesn't sound all touchy feely or fluffy. Not that I don't like that kind of stuff it's just that I've already done that with my previous fanfiction "When it Rains" and I don't want you guys to feel bored by getting the feeling of déjà vu of rereading aspects or other stuff that I've done before. Reviews help a lot so I know if I'm doing well or if I need a little work so feel free to do so and enjoy.

The room was suddenly filled with the sounds of guns firing, Poison Ivy summoned dozens of thick roots to drill from underground and protect them from the hailstorm of bullets. Scarecrow threw a canister full of his fear gas over the barricade which detonated among a cluster of the armed thugs. About half of them immediately tossed their weapons to the ground and began writhing on the floor as their fears came to life before their eyes. In the panic, Ivy used some of her roots to ensnare a few more goons. Seeing as more than half their numbers were cut down Harley Quinn leaped over the thick vines and started smashing helmets with her oversized hammer. Just as one guy was about to shoot her from behind Scarecrow rushed from the vine shield and plunged his scythe into the man's back.

Harley looked over and saw that her fellow Arkham inmate saved her. "Thanks Johnny, I didn't see that rat creeping in on me," chimed Harley as she went over to him.

"It was nothing really, this buffoon had a better fate than his friends over there," commented Scarecrow as he looked to the numerous victims of his fear gas. Those of which were now dead from the overwhelming nightmares they'd experienced. He looked around and felt that it was quiet. "Where are the rest?"

"They were smart; they decided to run away before getting killed themselves," smirked Ivy as she joined her fellow rogues. A vine was following behind, it had a figure tied up and trapped. "But look who my precious darlings caught right here."

Harley's smile grew wide for the person Ivy's plants caught was the woman in the purple helmet. "Oh Red! You're the best! Mistah J will be so happy!" cheered Harley as she ran to the helmeted woman.

"The rest of them in my traps are dead, I really saw no need for them. When you and Joker interrogate her do me a favor and see if you can get information on that brute who killed my babies," said Ivy indifferently about the other men but at the mention of the man in the green helmet her voice shook with rage.

"You're a monster, all of you! I won't tell you anything!" screamed the trapped woman.

"What a harsh choice of words for someone who runs with criminals," commented Scarecrow.

"Shut it Scarecrow! I am nothing like any of you freaks!" she yelled as she struggled in the vines.

"No one refers to me in that manner."

"Just who is this chick anyway, someone should teach her some common courtesy," glared Harley as she ripped the helmet off her head. Underneath was a woman probably in her early thirties with short neck length black hair that was tied in a small pony tail and eyes like a fierce cobalt fire that contrasted with Harley's light and playful blue ones. "You look familiar, have we met?"

The woman said nothing to Harley's question; Harley merely shrugged and continued smiling. "Don't matter to me, puddin' and I will have ya squealin' in no time."

A dark shadow quickly descended on them, making all the rogues look up. "Oh great it's Batman," muttered Ivy out loud. The woman used this distraction to wriggle a hand free and cut through the vines with a huge hunter's knife. Ivy began to writhe from the sudden pain and before Harley and Scarecrow could capture her she ran away as fast as she could.

"Oh hell no! That rat ain't getting away this time!" Harley glared at Batman who had grappled from the sky lighted window panes from above. "Nice goin' Bats."

Before she could say more sirens cut her short. "We have the place surrounded! We have authorization to use force, come out quietly with your hands up!" shouted what sounded like Detective Bullock.

"The three of you should cooperate with the police while I chase after that woman," said sternly Batman. It's bad enough the biker chick got away he didn't want to have to deal with these Arkham escapees.

"They're after you too idiot," snapped Ivy who was gathering herself.

"What are you…"

"Batman, you and the criminals you're aiding are under arrest this is our final warning! Come out peacefully or we'll have to use force!" the megaphone blared.

"Told you, doesn't seem you've been watching the news lately," she smirked.

"Damn it we ain't got time for this! Johnny do you think you can get Red outta here safely. You guys can go through the underground tunnel Red made so we could bust in here," explained Harley.

"Sure I can and will, but what about you?" asked Scarecrow.

"Me and Bats are gonna go after the chick she couldn't of gotten far."

"Be careful Harley," replied the Scarecrow as he and Ivy went to the tunnel escape.

"Don't think I owe you for this Crane," muttered bitterly Ivy as she slowly took the lead.

"Of course Pamela, wouldn't dream of it," he responded with a sigh.

"Now come on Bats before the fuzz grow some balls and come after us!" she commanded as she pulled on his gloved hand, urging him to run toward the back exit. "We're using your ride!"

They made a break for the Batmobile, dodging the bullets fired by the GCPD. Batman hoped into the driver's seat while Harley took the passenger's side. "Heh, was kinda hoping to take this baby for another spin," she smiled as she put on her seat belt.

"Be quiet Quinn," said the knight sternly as he sped off.

"Hey, you were the one who let that dame get away! Speaking of said dame there she goes down 6th!" hollered Harley.

"I see; the police are also following behind."

"Don't worry I got this," chimed the clown as she stuck her head out the window and began shooting.

Batman had barely enough time to stop her as he made a harsh turn down the street and into an alley way. The damage had been done, not only did he hear multiple collisions he abruptly slammed on the brakes to grab a hold of the harlequin, letting go yet again their only lead. "What the hell were you thinking!?" he growled.

"What the hell are you thinking Bats!? You're letting the fucking bitch get away!" shrieked Harley attempting to get out of Batman's grasp.

"You opened fire on the police, you probably murdered them!"

"Lighten up Dork Knight I only shot up their tires to get away! Probably they all just crashed into one another and are gonna have nasty booboos, nothing to get ya tights in a bunch over! You're the one that messed up yet again Bats, bitch is miles off, all because you can't get your ass outta your head to see that I was only helpin' ya. I got my orders and if it meant working with my puddin's nemesis, I was willin' to help for Mistah J's sake. But you're the one who can't trust no one, this city's out for your blood so you're on our level, either get with the game or stay outta my way next time!" she screamed as she finally broke Bruce's grip and glared daggers at him. Harley was livid but she took a few deep breaths to settle herself.

Bruce was just speechless and was beginning to process everything the rogue just said. He said nothing in his defense and did his best to hide his shame. He was trying to block out everything, like he always would. But this time around it seemed nearly impossible, everything just seemed so wrong.

"Take me home Bats, I wanna see puddin'. I also want ya to be there when I tell him you let another get away I ain't takin' the rap for this," sighed Harley dejectedly as she sunk into the interior of the Batmobile. Batman took a deep breath and started driving out. He was actually going to do what Harley demanded of him. Though he disliked her tone he didn't want her to face the Joker alone. Everyone knows that he takes out frustrations out on the poor girl when he's unhappy. But still, he wasn't sure if he could face the Joker right now, especially what happened between them only the other night.
