Up on the higher lever above the throne room, Barry and Sakura stood there staring each other down. "So, you must be the new racer I've been hearing word of. I'm Minty Sakura. I apologize for not being there on day one to greet you. I was off visiting Street Fighter, honing my skills in a tournament." She greeted him as they started circling the balcony, without losing eye contact on each other.

"What can I say? I've grown a fairly big rep around here. It happens to the best of us OCs. We become friends with everyone, are skilled in every practical area, and end up saving the day." He smiled at her. He then activated B.I.T and started pressing a few things on him.

Sakura took a brief moment from staring down her opponent to study the device on Barry's wrist. "So, this must be that weapon spawning gadget. I must say, it looks very well crafted."

"Thank you." B.I.T could be heard through the side speaker of the wristband.

"By the way, don't think don't know who you are Sakura." Barry warned her. "I know all about how you're the Japanese version of that Zaki girl. Convenient knowledge of everyone comes with the benefit of being fan made. Since you were downloaded to this console as part of an update, I guess that makes us both DLC avatars." Suddenly, two black escrima sticks spawned onto Barry's back. The ends of them were thinner and a shade of blue. They hummed lightly from the electrical charge in them.

"Then you must know what I am capable of." She assumed. "My skill is near unmatched."

*FLASHBACK*

In a dark alley way in the game Double Dragon, a group of thugs had gathered. They had caught Sakura sneaking around their territory, and now she knelt in the middle of them, captured. Her hands had been cuffed behind her, and a cloth was tied over her mouth to keep her from calling out.

The leader of the 5 gang members approached her. "What's the matter little girly? Get lost on the way back home?" he questioned, smirking.

Sakura looked at him with anger as he mocked her. "mmmmmpph." She could be heard through her gag.

"You know, after what happened with that guy who went Turbo, you racers are like celebrities. You'd go for a lot of money to get back to your princess safely." He explained. "But first, let's see what's under that kimono." The gang leader said, pulling out a knife.

What happened next was a blur. Secretly, Sakura had been working away at the chain connecting her cuffs, loosening them. When the Gang leader approached her, she broke out of the steel restraints and leapt for his face. She removed her gag and wrapped it around his face, using it to blind him while she grabbed his knife. Minty then plunged the knife into his throat, killing him.

There came the sound of a gun clicking from behind her. Sakura quickly leapt from the first goon to another. The gun wielder tried to hit her while she was leaping from a second goon, but missed her, shooting his friend in the head. Sakura then hopped onto the third gang member, quickly threw the knife at the one with the gun, hitting him in the throat. As he fell dead, his gun went off, shooting goon number four in the head. She finished by flipping over the head of the guy she was currently grabbing onto, and snapped his neck.

Minty then walked away, dusting herself off.

*FLASHBACK ENDS*

"So you know who I am. I have to say that despite your immaturity, you seem like a skilled fighter. You see, I've been watching you since you entered this castle, waiting for this battle." The pink racer smirked.

Barry pulled out his two sticks and leapt from pillar to pillar up to a higher level than they already were on. Sakura followed in hot pursuit. She was fairly fast, but Barry was a close match. She caught up to him as they approached the arch way between two of the pillars. He ran toward her on the arch and swung his two sticks. She pulled out both of her fans, opening them to block the blow. The two sets of weapons clashed in the middle with Barry's escrima sticks giving off a small spark from the clash. Both of them brought down their weapons, still together, so they were now face to face.

"You'll have to do better than that to defeat me." She told him through gritted teeth. "Now enough games. I demand to know who you really are."

Despite being in the middle of a clash, Barry managed to smile in a light hearted manor. "What you see is what you get. Just a fan made character with a love for fast paced action and racing. I'm Barry Bubblestein."

Sakura returned a smile to him. "Ah yes, I can understand your love for action, Barry." Then her face grew more serious. "But you do realize I can't let you live. Your fighting and racing days are coming to an end."

She broke off of the clash and leapt into the air. Still mid-air, she pulled out three prayer slips and tossed them swiftly at Barry. He dodged two of them but got cut by the third one, which cut part of the sleeve of his undershirt.

"Ah! Who throws cards? Honestly." he questioned rhetorically, while holding the cut on his arm.

Sakura landed on one of the pillars and five more of the slips one at a time. Barry worked on B.I.T to spawn something while barely dodging the sharp objects. He pressed down on him and Proto Man's Shield formed in his left hand. The assassin unloaded another barrage of prayer slips. But Barry blocked them with his shield as he slid behind one of the pillars.

"B.I.T, any recommended tactics?" the racer asked as his counterpart took his holographic form.

"We can't keep dodging like this. We have to match Sakura weapon for weapon." The A.I suggested.

Barry snapped his fingers. "I got it. She wants to play the distance game? We'll play too." He narrowed his eyes and smirked.

Sakura had gotten off of the pillars and started walking slowly and cautiously towards where her opponent had taken cover, ready for a surprise attack. But to her surprise, Barry walked out casually with a confident look on his face.

"Korekara ga hontō no tatakai ga hajimaru .(Now the real battle begins)" He said simply as subtitles appeared below him. He tapped a couple of buttons on B.I.T and the Wily Castle Stage 1-2 theme started to play.

Sakura, not fazed by the music or his silence, simply tossing two slips at once. The racer remained motionless until they were only moments away from hitting him.

*BZZT* *BZZT*

Barry countered by throwing two metal buzz saw like objects at the prayer slips. They destroyed them upon impact and kept flying toward Minty, who managed to dodge the first one. The second one slammed into her, sending her flying backwards. She recovered by doing a quick flip in the air and landed on her feet.

"Ah, Metal Blade. Widely to be considered one of the most broken projectiles in the arcade." Barry told her as he examined one of them. "Thank you Mega Man 2."

"Not too bad, for a cheap shot anyway." Sakura told him. "But your luck will run out."

Barry tossed three more blades her way. She started running towards him, dodging them by hopping up to the arc way between the pillars. She paused to toss a few more slips at him, but he stared evading while tossing more of the blades. She hopped down from the arc way and tossed more of her slips. They both started to run in a large circle, both tossing there projectiles while evading their foe's attacks.

"Time to get up close and personal." Barry said to himself. He hopped over her, firing off a volley of Metal Blades which Sakura countered with her fans. He landed behind her and pulled out his escrima sticks and charged at her. She got ready to block his blow. He did a quick combo, finishing with him bringing down his sticks. Sakura did a dodge roll at the end of his combo, getting behind Barry, which he quickly blocked her slicing fan.

Using his Sticks, Barry brought them together and created a spark that momentarily stunned Sakura. He pulled back and wacked her with both of his escrima sticks, sending her flying into a pillar. She bounced off of it and threw one of her fans at him.

Barry hopped back and brought both of his sticks together above his head creating an electrical charge. Once a large spark had generated, he slammed both of his escrima sticks into the ground. The spark traveled along the ground towards Sakura. She ran and grabbed her fan, blocking the spark at the last second. but it still carried enough force to send her in the air.

She used the momentum from the impact to dart toward Barry. Sakura brought the sharp blade down, hoping to stab Barry, but he rolled backwards at the metal struck the ground. He tried to catch her off guard by tossing three more metal blades at her. She kicked two of them and caught the third one, spinning before tossing it so it would still carry the same force. Barry just managed to side step out of the way of it as it got stuck in the ground.

"Grrrr, Sakura's countering almost every hit I throw at her. I need to blind side her if that's even possible." He cursed at himself. He thought for a moment before he figured out a plan. "I have an Idea." He announced to his device.

"Fantastic. Incoming projectile, by the way" B.I.T warned him. His master had been in such deep thought about his battle plan that he didn't notice an incoming prayer slip. The slip cut near his wrist as Barry was moving to avoid it. "That blow seemed aimed at me. Barry, she's trying to detach me from you. I think she knows I'm the source of your power."

Barry grabbed the metal blade that was stuck in the ground and threw it. "You're making this too easy, Bubblestein." Sakura chuckled. She used one of her fans to knock the blade upward. As it came back down, she kicked it at him. However, after throwing the blade, Barry had spawned his arm cannon again and was aiming it at her.

"Perfect. Crash Bomber!" He smiled as he announced this attack. A small orange ball launched out of the cannon and flew at the blade. This resulted in an explosion which knocked back both of the fighter. It had also damaged the upper level a fair bit, sending debris all around them. B.I.T's music player stopped at this point as well.

"You know, you're quite the skilled fighter. What's your secret?" Barry asked Sakura as he picked himself up off the ground.

Sakura got up and dusted herself off. "You meet Deathstroke at tappers once, walk up to him, give him that cute little Sugar Rush racer look that we are supposed to have, and even a hardened assassin like himself will teach you a few things. You're not too bad yourself, Barry." The Japanese racer complimented him her smile turning into a smirk. "But I've still got a few more tricks up my sleeves."

She pulls out a device that Barry recognizes as his remote claw from earlier. The black ball launched out of it, sticking to Barry's helmet. It launched out the second claw at a piece of debris, grabbing it and yanking it at him. There was nothing Barry could do as the piece of hard candy knocked into his head sending him stumbling back. Sakura followed up with a flurry of slashes and cuts, finishing with her roundhouse kicking him back. She followed this up with a flying kick, knocking him against a pillar.

"You fought well." She told him as she grabbed her fans. "But now it's time to end this." Minty ran at her weakened opponent, ready to deal the finishing stab. But as she brought her fans down, Barry brought both of his escrima sticks together, catching the metal part of the weapon in between them. This sent an electric shock coursing through the metal and into Sakura. She shook as she was being electrocuted before being blown backwards.

Barry picked up one of her fans and started walking towards her, twirling the closed fan in his hand. Once Sakura had recovered from the charge, she tried to get up, but fell forward, still weak from the blow.

"…What…are you?" she started to pant out, as Barry tossed the closed blade at Sakura's head. She watched in shock as her weapon barley missed cutting her face and stuck in the ground right beside her. Looking back at him, the next thing she knew, Barry threw a punch right in her face, knocking her unconscious.

The battle was over at last.

"Well, that rival battle happened." Barry said as he dusted himself off. Suddenly he heard the evil laugh of Turbo coming from the lower levels. He looked over the balcony to see the now giant Cy-Bug form of the false king battling the core four. "Oh yeah, kinda forgot about him." Barry chucked to himself.
