Chapter 11, Vacation Part 2
His hand closed lightly on his right eye. Though not to dig his fingers into it, more just to hold the pain as he pushed himself up for the moment to look at the women before him. She seemed to be looking at him curiously only to shift her hand towards him though Xenovia who lifted her arm up blocked it.
"How do you know his name?" Xenovia commanded. It was obvious she was aware he was in pain, but she stood her ground, holding her right hand over to the side open and cracking it occasionally into a fist while her left arm blocked the view towards her Limiter.
The Asian beauty just ignored her as she kept her gaze towards Charles. Piercing threw the arm of Xenovia as she moved towards them only to stop when she noticed that Xenovia moved closer to her in a more aggressive like matter. She merely looked to the lights that were ringing out with the sounds before she turned to walk away from them. Running the direction, they were going before she turned into the main hall, but turning right instead of left. It wasn't like the pain in his head stopped but he knew he had to move. If they would be caught here, it would mess up the entire mission itself. He looked to Xenovia who had moved to his side and helped him up this time while sighing.
"I'll have to ask you about her later I guess" She stated as she moved with him towards the relay point. For the most part the mission was indeed a success…however, the fact that the military had this at all was truly interesting. Of course, Charles had nothing to really run-on, but they were pretty close to right when it came down to the investigation. What came afterwards was going to be just as interesting to see.
He couldn't help but feel annoyed at this munching piercing pain in his eye. Of course, it wasn't something he understood. Which meant he was going to have to ask Ms. Smith to check it out when they returned? Nevertheless, for the most part it did ease off enough that the dizzy feeling that was stopping him from falling flat on his face was slowly going away. With that he would eventually not have to lean on Xenovia, though being so close to her was enough to satisfy his other wants for the moment. He just enjoyed her scent. It didn't take them long to reach the meeting point where he saw Gabriel and Himiko waiting. They looked at him for a moment before approaching the two of them with not much worry on their faces.
"Well, im' going to say the lack of blood means you weren't shot in the eye. So…what's up?" Gabriel stated, it was a calm voice, but was still pressed, as they seemed to wait on the leader, Marius now.
"Nothing, I just got it suddenly…" he stated, he wasn't about to just tell them about the woman he had just seen. It wouldn't be right. Even if she was Chevalier she didn't seem to have any malice about her, hell she didn't even report them or there would have been an entire force of probably freelancers coming down this area.
Gabriel looked at him for a moment, it was obvious he didn't believe it. However, he didn't seem to show the need to pry any further. Looking back towards the hall that Marius was suppose to have gone down. He should have returned by now, for they were almost out of their recorded time. They couldn't wait forever for him or else it would be much worse on their way to finding the extraction point. They had to figure out what to do about this and where they would go. However Gabriel turned back to him, within a few moments.
"You and Xenovia should head out. Meet at the hill. You know that cliff we slid down. We'll be sure to get there after we met up with Marius and Frey. If we don't come back before the Extraction, you have to return with our data and yours." Gabriel stated as he pulled out his data. Himiko doing the same. Giving them their phones as the stood and waited. "Well? Just go man. It's not like anything bad will happen." Gabriel stated calmly.
Charles nodded as he pushed off of Xenovia who still stayed close to him. They had taken the cell phones and placed them in their pockets as they walked outside.
Silence, it was both haunting and beautiful at the same time. They had made it up and over the cliff as they waiting for the other four to come back, while keeping an eye out. However, they were more distracted by the fact there was a chevalier who knew who he was straight off the bat. He figured it would have come up, more so since they were doing nothing else then keeping watch. Worse case they would have to talk about it on their way to the extraction point at that. So in all honesty, it was better it was stated now.
"I know you don't know, or at least remember her." Xenovia continued as her blue-yellow eyes darted across the snow dunes and then back to his own gaze. "It's just odd that she knew you almost instantly. That just isn't something that is normal…" She was obviously worried about him being noticed so easily. More so by a person in chevalier. It could blow over the mission if they were to go threw treatment just because he was found out.
"Yah, I mean it hurts me trying to remember if I do know her. But she still had some sort of familiarity to her.." He stated, he wasn't going to lie to her about it. However, he did not want her to think anything about it. "She didn't seem like she belonged in the Chevalier though…for some reason I think that was a disguise."
Xenovia looked at him as if he was insane for a moment before moving closer to him.
"I take it you didn't sense it…" She stated calmly and softly to him. As she looked away, her face red from being close to him. "You know she was giving off a very intense murderous aura…I'm pretty sure the reason why we didn't run into anyone was because she probably killed them all. We just happened to run into her." Xenovia continued then looked back to him. "If we see her again…I just hope you will be able to pull out some information. I'll protect you in the worse case." She stated.
He knew she didn't want to use that weapon, but for a person to kill so many others? He didn't know if that was even possible. Though he wasn't going to deny her saying this. She wasn't so quick to jump onto the protection wagon, at least not unless she thought so much. That was generally what he picked up with all the time he had spent with her. So he would have to look into this girl himself. For both of their sakes. However, he needed to get back to looking out for the people only as he turned his head to see Gabriel coming out with Himiko close beside her, Frey, and Marius behind them. Looking around before they ran up to the top. Marius however seemed to be slightly wounded while holding a laptop in his hand at that. They pulled themselves up the cliff side of the snow before looking to one other.
"So, it seems Marius here ran into a Chevalier who was…"
"She was killing pretty much everything in her sights. She didn't even seem to care about anything else. We moved to take her down but..it wasn't like we were ready for combat with her. She managed to avoid most of our attacks and then leave…I then landed up tripping over a chair. That's all." He stated as he pulled the laptop before him and placed it on the snow for a moment. "This seemed to be information that was in one of the rooms. I did not have time to really look into it, but I did manage to get a good run about threw it to get the basic run down. There is the fact that they have done this….experiment with a few other…well I'll let us learn about it later." Marius stated in a what seemed to be more of a jumble of words more then anything else.
Charles did not really know what to say, in fact, he was more then certain it was the woman they ran into. Though she was attractive, he still couldn't help but feel that familiarity to the situation. Who was she and why was she just there. It made no sense at all. He was interrupted by the sound of the phones buzzing as they had a few moments to put in the code before receiving the coordinates to get to the location. They needed to leave now. But he could tell on Marius' face he didn't' like the idea.
"If we stay Marius, we may die along with the rest of them. We have to move now. I don't care about the Nova…I've already seen more then enough to prove this place guilty in my mind." Gabriel stated as Himiko followed him closely behind. Both of them walking towards the area as they used the satellites to pull up their location before taking the next steps. Charles was not going to be left behind as he pushed out of the snow taking Xenovia's hand as he walked past the Marius who looked towards the massive complex before he turned around to Frey who nodded to him. As they moved to follow closely behind them.
Silence over took them as they all stopped before the pick up zone. The long whipping purple-blue hair seemed to lash around as the gusts of wind blew aggressively over the snow banks. The Dark Red eyes seemed to glow as the pale-skinned woman once more stood before them. Her Chevalier uniform giving off who she was as she turned to face them. Dropping the corpse of a scientist she was holding in her right hand. Shifting her hair to blow in the flow of the wind. She smiled as the her hair moved to show the multitude of scars that littered around her neck as well. Her body must have been covered in them, just line after line of it. However, he didn't have much chance to say anything as all three Pandoras exploded off towards her without a second thought. Gabriel and Marius watching carefully as they were waiting for the time to give a chance to their Pandora if needed. Freezing for the most part was used well if in combat.
Frey pulled out her volt weapon almost instantaneously as she brought it down, the katana missing its target if only by a hair. However, just by watching it was obvious at the speed that was used to move in that slight instance as she moved to swing the blade once more with a quick turn to the left before it swung at nothing but air.
Himiko however, managed to get in close swinging her axe to only meet nothing once more as a blow was fired into them a close range. Tossing Himiko to the side as another shot met into contact with Frey who blocked it just barely before her katana was dematerialized. For a moment, they had nothing but silence only for Xenovia to pull up behind and bring her fist down to be met by the opened hand of the woman whose hair blew back from blocking the shot. With a sudden wave of freezing fired off from the two men and making contact the three jumped back before charging into attack her in one quick move. They had to eliminate her before the escort arrived, and before they were found out by Chevalier. A massive gust blew around them as the snow kicked up covering their vision for only a moment. Within a moment all the blows seemed to be blocked before the area seemed to get more intense by her glow in her eyes as she flipped over causing the Katana and Axe to collide into one other while kicking Xenovia into the air. Then she vanished as the 2 stopped before jumping back and Xenovia landed on the ground looking up to them both for a moment.
"Who the hell is this chick?" Frey stated, completely out of character as she pulled the katana up, curving the blade to her. "She has only used her skills in short bursts, and she broke freezing…she's a freaken monster."
"Xenovia…" Charles muttered as he watched the fight go on, she wasn't on the same level as the other two when she didn't have her weapon out. Sure, she was powerful, but without her weapon she as fighting only at part of her power. "Xenovia! You can use it. I'll be the shield." Charles stated as he took off towards the lady who had reappeared for the moment.
She didn't have a moment to think before she saw him charge. She ran towards him as Himiko and Frey nodded to one other using what they could to charge at the woman, the level needed for high end skills was still there as they both vanished for a moment. For a moment the battle seemed to go fine as the land shook around them, causing a nearby avalanche. The area shook violently as the clash seemed to continue for a moment before the sudden grip of Charles' arms around the purple haired woman's body. Causing her to pause for a slight moment before the weapons made contact cutting into her and slashing across Charles' face for a slight moment. The woman watched in horror as the blood splattered on her face before the two men fired off a freezing. She suddenly gave off a twisted aura as her volt weapons appeared. Long claw like weapons that seemed to hover over her hands. They were connected to her gauntlets as she defeated Himiko with one massive slash across her chest up to her face breaking her axe with the elbow and the next one entered the body of Frey. Piercing threw her katana and the hand coming out of the other side. They were claw like guantlets, in all manners. Every finger was laced in a sort of point. They made her hands look demonic as she turned around leaving the two Pandora to fall to the ground only for the sound of Xenovia's roar to have her turn around as the massive demonic blade encountered her gloves. The area was hit with a shock as it littered with the falling debris. The area wasn't just a blood bath the 2 other limiters charged in, firing bullets only for the Helicopter to come.
They had lost. They were even spotted at the recovery point.
"Xiùlán! Damnit! Who told you to fight the other Pandoras? I doubt mister Reiviv wanted you to do this." Miss Smith stated as Xenovia had put away her sword almost instantly falling to her knees only for Charles to walk towards her, Blood still dripping lightly from where he received the wound to his face, right under his cheekbone.
"What are you saying?" Gabriel stated as he looked to Himiko who pushed herself up, he was near Miss smith since they needed to get to moving. Two teams with stretchers came out to place the wounded girls. "That is Xiulan Xi. Or 'Lily'. She is not part of Chevalier, she's part of the Reiviv Corporation. She was found in one of the missions. In addition, has been Charles' caretaker for most of his life. So they say at least." Miss Smith stated and sighed. "She also doesn't like talking to anyone at all. She has a fear you see of talking to people, it was caused from where she was found. Something about her family and such being killed before her. The only records we have of her talking were all on Charles' accord. That is basically all the information I have on her. We need to move now. I'll explain in more detail once we get to the hotel." Miss Smith stated as she looked to the girls who were now moved into the helicopter. "She's not the same as you girls, you never stood a chance." She stated as she moved to sit down in one of the chairs.
The hotel was Silent as Xiùlán, had sat down in the same room as the Limiters, though fairly close to Charles. She didn't seem to show any signs of the damaged that was caused to her from the entrance room to her right and left upper rib. In fact, she sat at the table while drinking a glass of orange juice and looked to the two others quite a lot. However, she was very silent. She wore a t-shirt, which covered most of her body, though like most t-shirts left her arms exposed. They were covered with scars climbing up them all the way to her shoulders. In a way, they looked like tattoos when you looked at her neck. Her crimson eyes moved to Charles, and seemed to give off kindness.
"So, we sit here with you care taker they you didn't even remember? Sounds fishy." Marius stated and sighed. "I couldn't pull up anything on her. So I'm going to have to say she's pretty much a top hidden case or something."
"I would assume the same, if it wasn't for the fact that she was supposedly the one watching over Charles this whole time. Shouldn't she have come out more often? And why was she in the Alaska base anyways? It is just odd. That and she doesn't-"
The sound of paper being written on could be heard as she had pulled out a note pad and a pencil and was writing on it. Then, after a pause as all the men watched her slender hands write down everything into the note. She ripped it off and placed it into the center of the table.
I'm sorry that I did that to your Pandora's. But, I lost control. For that I am greatly sorry. I will be joining your team as of today by the way. I have concluded that Xenovia is a threat. My name is Lily, please call me that. As Xiùlán, is my official name.
The writing was amazing. Though it was still odd she could do all this…he didn't even remember who she was, though the scarred hands seemed to make him think about that past dream he once had, could she have been the dead maid who had tried to help him out? He wasn't really sure. He would have to ask his father about the information on her. He just, for now didn't understand why she would only talk to him. As he pondered, he didn't notice that she was watching him as he thought as she drank her orange juice. She seemed to pay close attention to him. Like a mother over her children, she didn't seem to wish for him to come to harm.
Though one could they her asking them to call her by her nickname was odd in itself. It wasn't a bad thing. It was hard enough to pronounce Chinese names as it was at times, plus people were known to mess them up. So using the name Lily would have added a sort of ease to them, to their talking…well talking and reading in this case . As it seemed the only person, she saw that she would talk to was him.
The door swung open into the hotel room. Blowing some of the papers off of the desk as it almost slammed into the wall that was nearby. As the Blue-yellow eyes looked to him for a moment, as she walked towards him. She seemed to be in a white dress shirt that was buttoned up, while her hair was slightly tied up. Her pants where for the most part just a dark color complimenting the white top. She moved to sit near him as she placed the chair beside him and sat near him. Lily who looked back to him, then to the table once more as Gabriel laughed eyed her for a moment.
"So, we basically have a mute. Not that she is, just she doesn't wish to speak to us. Fun." Gabriel stated, he was not offended at all, it didn't show in his tone or anything. It was almost as though he really did think it was an entertaining add to the group.
"Well, it's good to know that the person we fought wasn't actually an enemy." Xenovia stated, though it was obvious she was annoyed about the fact she was almost beaten so easily. "So that means she may have even been holding back. To think we are this far behind a Chevalier unit. Not even with her Limiter she was able to take us all on with ease."
"No, it's because it's her." Himiko stated as she walked into the room. Her throat was wrapped up in a bandage but for the most part it seemed the medical treatment worked. "She seems to have a massive amount of training that is even outside the normal range for Pandora's. I don't even think she noticed the damage to herself. But she was well aware of his damage." Himiko stated looking to the couch for a moment before she sat down on it. "She is something else entirely on that. Her scars, and battle wounds scream out the respect she needs. Not just as our senior, but as a warrior as well."
Lily seemed for the most part to watch everyone around her carefully, though she did stop on him over and over again. He just sighed at this thought. He would eventually get a report probably from his father. Detailing her position and more to him. But it was still annoying to wait on it. He moved his hand to take Xenovia's for a moment as she just held it back in return. Hiding it under the table as Lily blinked and drank. There was many things he would need to ask Lily, maybe she would respond to it all when he asked her when she was alone. Maybe even when she was around him and Xenovia. He didn't really know. She seemed to have spoke before in front of them so it was worth the shot. He would have to wait until tonight. When they all were finally resting.
Night came somewhat faster then he had expected. Though for the most part everyone else seemed to have left the room. It was, to say he was alone in his own room. Though, Xenovia had been told of his plan, she had decided it would be best if she didn't stay with him for it, she stated it was a risk if they couldn't get anything out of her because of her being there. So it was better off if she wasn't just incase she wouldn't talk. It was better to get something then nothing.
In all honesty, he couldn't agree more. He would have much rather to gain information then to risk the chance to get absolutely nothing out of it. He just sighed as she looked to the women before him. Her Purple hair seemed to hover over the floor, barely inches from touching it. Of course she was sitting in the chair, but still it was indeed interesting to see how long her hair truly was. She looked up to him for a moment, seeming to stare into his soul. She was covered, for the most part the t-shirt and pants didn't come off into something else this time. She seemed to almost read his mind as she let out a sigh, it was one of somewhat sadness as her eyes changed to a sort of watery like form letting a tear fall from the side of her face.
"Hello…I know..you don't remember me Charles.." She stated with sadness as a smile crawled on her face, her voice trembled almost at the thought of it. "But I guess we'll have to meet again." she finished.
She was in pain by the thought of him not remembering her. But if it were someone so important in his life…why wouldn't he remember her? It made no sense, the only thing that could really explain this is that his father made sure he didn't, or…something went wrong after he escaped that place.
"I'm sorry that I don't remember you. If it wasn't for the accident…I probably would have no problem remembering you…at least, is it safe to assume you were the dead girl they found?…the one who saved me?" he stated as he looked down to her, moving to sit down as she placed the cup on the holder for a moment looking up to him.
"I'm the reason you are alive yes…" she stated as she smiled. There were still some tears in her eyes as she pushed them off with her hands. Blinking lightly as if to finish it off. "I have many names, and… your father decided to give my Xiulan was my true name. However, you use to only refer to me as Lily. Which became the name…he began to call me."
Well this did push away his assumption, though it added to more questions. Though the fact that she stated she was the reason he was alive really pushed it into his mind. Why would she say that? I mean sure he said she saved him, but in all honesty she didn't fully save him. She gave him the key to life, but she didn't guide him…not that he was aware of. It was annoying to some extent. As he sighed and sat down in the chair. There was only way she could have came back to life, and that would have been with that formula. But at that time, he was the only one who was being used as the test subject. His father pushed and pushed to make sure he would have lived from it, but he was certain that it was all there was. There was still maybe a possibility that she was maybe another experiment? After him possibly that they used to bring her back to life. But seeing that as a possibility that would mean they discovered a way to bring back the dead. Of course, this was a long shot, and even if it was true, it wasn't as if he was going to be able to tell other people about it. Still he couldn't fully understand what was going on about it.
She seemed to watch him carefully as he thought, almost as though she was watching his facial movements before she opened her mouth to speak then stopped seeming to think about what she was going to say before she said it.
"I..I was the source of why you are still alive now. Though your fathers official experimentation took place on you. I was the one who was taken in before you. I wasn't dead when they found you, just barely alive but I held on…I wanted to see you. I just couldn't leave you alone to be caught again."
"Why then?" Charles stated as he looked at her intensely. Why would she do something like that? "Was this all put up by my father to make sure you would get in there? I can't see how you would do this for me. But none of the other children! Where you planned out for this?" He didn't feel like this was right. If she was some sort of saint.
She seemed to go silent for a moment before standing up to take off her shirt he turned his gaze quickly as she did. He wasn't about to look at someone else as he heard the shirt hit the floor, then the unzipping of the pants. This was a very odd situation for him, he however would have to hold himself together.
"I…I don't need you to strip or anything." he said in response as he pushed down his own urges in his throat. Still keeping his gaze to the odd beige like color that seemed to dominate the color of the hotels rooms. He felt her hand grab his as she placed it on something that was to say soft but hard in the same way. With many grooves and erratic lines. He turned to look at her.
Her body was as he thought, covered in scars. Most of all they were erratic. As if each one was done repeatedly, caused by possibly deeper marks. Ripping out in different directions. She seemed to be pretty fit as her black bra and panties were still on. This at least made the situation less odd. But even the top of her breasts where covered with the scars. They didn't vary much in length though, they merely varied in shape, to direction they came from. Her slight opening of abs all the way to the top of her panties seemed to have one that seemed to split up into multitudes of others, connecting to more.
"I…I tired to save them all.." She stated as she placed his hand back on the side and sat down. "I wasn't allowed to save any of them. And whenever I tried, they would…"
He couldn't believe he forgot, they shot at her, beat her, and whipped her. How could he have been so blind to this? It wasn't right for him to just call him out as if she was just trying to save him. There was a chance that maybe they would have just executed her after that.
"I was there…because my family was slaughtered.." She stated calmly as she looked up to him. "They killed them, and kept me as a caretaker of their children at first, then when it seemed convenient. They would perform this with me."
No,…he couldn't let this set in his mind. She couldn't just have taken it, why would she have. His hand closed into a fist and slammed into the table breaking the plate that he wasn't paying attention to under his hand, causing the glass to cut into his hand for a moment. She seemed to blink at him for a moment before looking around to grab a nearby cloth before she lifted up his hand and looked to check for possibly glass.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know..if it was that bad…I'm glad my father had slaughtered them all. They were scum…below humans. They deserved no rights." He stated coldly, he never knew it was that bad. He had to live with hell, yes..that life was a memory he tried to keep back in this thoughts. But here it was in front of him, fixing his hand with a cloth, no second thoughts just merely speaking. The very thought that if one of them lived. He would kill them with his own hands. They had no right to live, not right to exist…they deserved to be exterminated.
"Its fine, I did manage to meet you…and your father. It allowed me to live today…but you need to understand… though you don't remember… we are connected because of that experiment." she stated as she moved to pick up her pants and pulled them one, one leg at a time showing the massive array of scars that covered her body. She was literally a walking map of scars. It was in it's own way an odd beauty, but still drove him to an endless sense of rage. He was more then sure Xenovia would have been in the same state if it weren't for the fact she would not talk in front of anyone else.
"So, what you are saying is.." He had remembered the scene when he was younger. The girl like maid sitting across his bed as she was lying there, barely able to fully open his eyes. She was covered in bandages, but was alive. Her long purple hair had been the only thing that was able to match these too up. Indeed, he did ponder on who that was, but still the pain would pulse in his head if he forced too much. He looked to his hand for a moment. Sighing lightly as he looked back to her. "If you are her, I am sorry for forgetting you. It is not as it is something I wanted to forget. My goal was to remove all I could from my life that was connected to that event. But if I have to face it now…I will." He stated calmly as he rested his head into his mended hand. "though I have to say, if we are connected more because of that experiment. I would like you to tell me how."
She paused for a moment as she pulled over her shirt and sat down again. Blinking for a few moments before pulling out her hair from the shirt itself and taking a deep breath then letting it out.
"You were given a full blood transfusion, all the blood in your body was taken out while the experiment was being done…it was replaced with the blood they had taken from me after they mixed it in with the chemicals. They used that blood to activate the medication, and allow you to heal. It's not like it's still in you, but it's….what I understood."
Lovely, so he had the blood of her in him. That was indeed interesting, but if that was the case…they would have had a much deeper bond possibly from it. At least on the joking side you could say they were blood related…yah that joke was pretty bad, but he couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of it.
