Chapter 11: Pieces Misaligned

Vector, Blaze and Silver approach the final door leading to their target. The croc drives his fists into the door and pulls it open with ease. "Game over, Zavok!" He looks around seeing no sign of the zeti.

Blaze takes notice of the stasis pod and looks inside. "It's empty."

Silver looks at Vector. "Why would Zavok have one of his victims with him like this?"

Vector kneels down picking up a strand of orange fur. "Bait."

"For us?"

Blaze grabs the strand in horror. "He has her."

"That's right, feline." Zavok appears to them through the monitors. "The little bunny is in my hands, as you can see." He holds up an unconscious Cream in his hand.

"You monster!" The feline punches one of the monitors in anger.

"If you value such a worthless creature, then come and get her." The wall in front of them rises up revealing the zeti himself.

Blaze runs towards him swiping at him with her claws only to suddenly stop at the edge of the ground.

Zavok laughs at her futile effort. "What's wrong, feline. Afraid of a little fall?"

"How could you know that…?" She looks in horror. "You knew I'd be here."

Silver flies over to Zavok trying to reach for Cream only for the zeti to leap onto a floating chunk of land in the distance.

Vector runs over to Blaze pulling her away from the edge as the land masses around them were floating around aimlessly. "What's going on?"

Zavok raises his open hand. "Witness the pieces as they come together to replace your useless rock of a planet. A world of pollutants, lack of ozone, and overpopulated land will be no more."

"So that was your motivation. You wanted to create a new planet free of our planet's flaws that you could rule over as a savior."

"Your kind has made it a routine of self-destruction. I will be the one who will end the cycle and control the new world so it didn't end up the same way."

Blaze attempts to get at Zavok only for Vector to hold her back. "A monster like yourself has no right to reign over a new world! Not after what you've done!"

Zavok holds the bunny over the edge. "One more word and the little one becomes part of the core."

The feline had tears of pain in her eyes as she stood down. "Don't hurt her. Please."

"I won't. Let me just set her down." He then let's Cream go dropping her down off the edge.

"No!" Blaze leaps down grabbing Cream as both of them fell towards the core.

Silver jumps off and darts over to them grabbing them both with his power.

Vector hops over to the rock Zavok was standing on. "Nice try, Zavok. Did you really think they'd let Cream down like that?"

Zavok laughs as the land they stood on moves far away from Blaze, Cream and Silver. "On the contrary, I was counting on it. Now it's just you and me, Vector. Two beasts enter, only one lives."

"I already know which one you are." He stood ready with his fists in the air.

Silver flies the girls back up to the surface of the Lost Hex loading them on the ship.

Charmy checks up on them. "We were just about to ask you if you saw Cream since we didn't."

Espio looks at Silver. "Where's Vector?"

Silver looks down at the pieces of the ground slowly falling apart. "He's still inside. Hurry up and leave without me. I'll make sure Vector gets back safe." He flies away in a hurry.

Blaze looks down at Cream. "Cream? Are you okay?"

Espio starts flying the ship off the surface of the Lost Hex. "She'll wake up in time, Blaze. As will the others."

"Is everyone here?"

"All but one who Zeena freed."

Charmy looks around. "Where is Zeena and that other zeti?"

Blaze looks out the window. "They're still here. This is their home. Just not Zavok's."

Espio then pilots the ship back down to the planet below as the Lost Hex continued to fall apart at the seems.

Blaze places her hand on the window. "Make sure he pays, Vector."
