Digimon U-squad Ch 11

I had lost track of the time I'd been chained to the wall in this dungeon, was it hours? Days? Weeks? Years? I couldn't tell. Either way the only thing to keep me company was a fellow prisoner that was hanging on my left. Devimon's torturing seemed to be getting more relentless each time he entered the room.

"So what is your name?" I asked the prisoner.

"Lync Volan," They said, "Yours?"

"Carlos," I smiled, "Why don't you have any pupils?" I inquired.

"Simple, I'm not a human," The prisoner said, "I was somehow thrown into this world by some kind of dimensional bomb."

I blinked, "Wait, you're not a human?"

"I'm what they call a Vestal," The prisoner said, "And I come from a different universe."

"Oh," I said, "Do they have digimon where you're from?"

"Digimon?" Lync blinked.

"Yeah," I said, "You know, they're monsters who can talk and evolve into different forms?"

Lync shrugged, "No I have no clue what a digimon is, but I know what a Bakugan is."

"Then you must watch a lot of T.V.," I said, "That show is on all the time."

"Show? Wait what?" The alien blinked before the door opened. There stood Devimon with a devious grin.

"Oh hello there Carlos," The devil digimon laughed, "I figured it was high time I gave you a break from all that torture," He grinned as he came up to my face. He began to fish inside his pockets as he pulled out an orb, "Shall we consult the Orb of Truth?"

"More like the Orb of Bullcrap," I spat in the Digimon's face. He just gave a sigh as an image began to appear in it.

"Oh what's this, you have a family?" Devimon grinned, "I bet they're worried sick about you," He said as the picture began to reveal my dad going about his daily life, "What's this? It's only been a week since your disappearance and look at your father. He's as calm as ever," The demon cackled, "One might think that he doesn't even care about you!"

"That's a lie!" I snapped as I tried to lash out at the digimon.

"Is it?" Devimon said in a rather sarcastic tone, "Remember, the Orb of Truth does not lie."

"Where the heck did you get that thing anyways?" I asked the digimon.

"Oh, it was a present a Black Gatomon gave to me a while ago," He said, "She stole it from some train."

My eyes shot open, that's why Black Gatomon was so quick to leave the first time we met!

"Of course it is a great present," Devimon said, "I mean it has already revealed so much to you. Like how much people don't really care for you."

I drooped my head, there was no way my friends didn't care about me that much…could it?

"I bet you want to get back at them, don't you?" Devimon smirked as I began to feel a clawing at my mind, "You want to show them what happens to those who abandon their friends, don't you?" I tried to fight whatever was going on in my mind but my mind was slipping. By the second I was growing even more eager to join Devimon. My vision began to become blurry as my eyes began to close. All of a sudden I saw four orange hands grapple Devimon before he was hurled into a wall next to me. I shook my head as the clawing had stopped. My eyes laid sight on my savior, Taurosmon.

"Hey Carlos! Some Lady let me free and told me you were here!" Taurosmon grinned.

"Taurosmon!" I said as tears welled up in my eyes, "Quick! Get me down!" I then looked over at Lync, "And that person too."

My digimon nodded as he ripped the chains holding use out of the wall. He did the same with Lync as I looked around, "So how are we gonna get out of here?" I asked Taurosmon.

"Hell if I know," Taurosmon said, "But the first thing we're going to need to do is get out of this room."

"Good news," A catty voice mewed from behind us, "Cause after I catch you both of you are going into maximum security!"

Taurosmon turned around to see Black Gatomon ready to pounce. Soon after the cat digimon did so. Taurosmon ducked out of the way as Black Gatomon flew into Devimon.

"I think I got an idea!" Taurosmon exclaimed as he began to charge up a sphere of Ki energy, "Ki Sphere!" He roared as he hurled the ball at Black Gatomon and Devimon. The ball exploded leaving a gaping hole big enough for all of us to fit through, "Next time bring your A game!"

There was a collective groan from the pile of rubble Black Gatomon and Devimon were under. Taurosmon soon grabbed me and Lync and ran out of the hole. We then noticed we were about 20 feet above the ground.

"Crap," I sighed as we shortly began to fall. Taurosmon took a deep breath as he turned on his back and put us on his stomach. He landed into the ground as his body was just barely enough to cushion Lync and me. When the two of us got up off Taurosmon, my digimon slowly rose to his feet. He had all kinds of scars and hurt patches of skin all over his body.

"What did they do to you!?" I exclaimed.

"It's nothing you should worry about," Taurosmon said.

I took a deep breath and sighed, "Alright," I said as I looked around. It seemed as if we had just jumped out of a giant medieval castle that looked like it was made out of black colored stones. Heck it even had a moat and drawbridge!

"Let's get out of here," Taurosmon said as he looked in front of us. There stood a rather dark forest. It seemed like little light ever made its way to the place. As such the place was barely lit.

"Don't you think that's a little dangerous?" Lync asked us.

Taursmon shrugged, "It's either we wait here and get brought back into the castle or go through that forest.

I sighed, my digimon was right, if there was any way we were going to get out of here it would be through that forest.

"Good point," Lync said as the three of us began to walk into the forest.

The place was dead silent, it was hard to tell if anything living was in here. Heck there wasn't even any wind, just silence. It was driving me mad.

After a few minutes of walking Taurosmon sighed, "Hopefully we'll get out of here soon." I nodded as we came to medium sized rock in the middle of the forest. We rested there for a minute or two and kept walking, and a few hours later, Taurosmon spotted something up ahead, "You've got to be kidding me!"

"What?" Lync and I asked at the same time. My digimon pointed forward with one of its hands and it showed that same rock we'd rested at a few hours ago.

"It's like this forest doesn't want us to get out," I blinked, "That's not good…"

"We could be stuck here for ages," Lync sighed as we saw a ray of light a few yards to the left.

"Wait! That could be an exit!" Taurosmon exclaimed as he ran over to it.

"Hold up!" I said as I tried to run after Taurosmon, it was no use. He was just too fast, However I eventually caught up to him in a clearing with an old cherry tree in the center. The tree even had a funny little mustache.

Taurosmon smiled, "You smell that?" He said as I sniffed the air, my nose caught a whiff of a rather sweet smell that was like someone was baking a cherry cobbler.

"That smells delicious," I said as Taurosmon approached the tree.

"It's coming from the fruit!" My digimon exclaimed as he grabbed a cherry from the tree. The next second the cherry blew up in his face as it sent him flying onto his back.

Lync caught up to us and sighed, "Oh no! This was the place where I was captured! That cherry tree isn't a tree at all!" As Lync noticed that the cherry tree's bark began to slide open as a pair of yellow eyes stared at us. Arms sprouted from the tree as it had a mouth open under the mustache. Too be honest I should have thought something was fishy about the mustache. However one of the arms grabbed a cane as several stumps began to come out of the woodwork.

"The Czar wants his prisoners back," The tree digimon growled, "Brothers, to arms!"

Just then the stumps grew arms and eyes as well before they slowly began to surround us.

"Taurosmon do something!" I exclaimed as Tarusmon tried to move, but to no avail.

"Well this is great," Lync said before Taurosmon shot a Ki sphere into the air, "What was that supposed to hit?"

Taurosmon shrugged, "No idea," He said as the stumps began to close in around us as the cherry tree crept closer.

Out of nowhere there were two howls that I thought I'd heard before. Just then a Garurumon and a Dobermon jumped out of the trees and landed in front of the three of us. On them were very familiar people.

"Guys!?" I exclaimed.

"Hey Carlos, the cavalry is here!" Vega smiled as he and his monodramon jumped down from Talas' Garurumon. Riamei and her Terriermon dismounted from Illyria's Dobermon as I breathed a sigh of relief.

"We were patrolling the area looking for, then we saw that red sphere and decided to check it out," Illyria said.

"That's when I said that Taurosmon shoots red spheres!" Riamei smiled, "And you're always near Taurosmon!"

Tallas nodded, "I crunched the numbers and the likelihood of that attack coming from a different digimon were phenomenally low."

Lync blinked, "These guys' friends of yours?"

I nodded, "Yep," I grinned as Vega looked at Riamei, "Riamei, you and I will take on the Cherrymon," Vega said, "Tallas and Illyria, you take on the Woodmon."

"Yes Chief," Tallas nodded and gave a salute.

"Can Taurosmon fight?" Vega asked me.

I shook my head, "No…"

"Alright then," Vega said as he and Raimei took out their digivices.

"Champion Digivolution go!" They both said as Monodramon digivolved into Strikedramon as Terriermon digivolved into Gargomon.

"Let me at'em!" Strikedramon exclaimed as he darted at the Cherrymon. The plant digimon tried to whack the dragon digimon with its cane, but the attack was dodged as Strikedramon flipped over and smacked Cherrymon with his tail. As he did, several vines shot from the cherry tree and smacked the champion digimon down. It landed on its face as Gargomon fired its arm guns as pellets flew forward and hit their target as it stumbled backwards, but not before a vine grabbed Gargomon's chest and slammed him into the ground. As it did a black beam shot out of nowhere and knocked Cherrymon back.

"The only person who gets to beat up Gargomon is me!" Dobermon smirked as he began to rip apart one of the Woodmon in search of its digicore. Out of nowhere a long wooden arm wrapped itself around Dobermon and slowly began to drain the life out of him. Garurumon lunged forward as his fangs grew bright blue, "Freeze Fang!" He exclaimed as he bit into the arm. A Woodmon howled in pain as it let Dobermon go. Dobermon then sent several grey rings at the Woodmon that had grabbed it. Dobermon then pounced on it began to tear into its bark. Garurumon shot a blast of blue fire at a Woodmon and sent it fly backwards. Just then a Woodmon flung itself and the wolf.

"Woody Smash!" It exclaimed as it smashed Garurumon's head into the ground. The wolf whimpered before standing up and slamming itself into the Woodmon causing the plant digimon to be disoriented long enough for Garurumon to snap it in half with a good bite. Just then Strikedamon was flung next to Garurumon but got up.

"I'm alright," The digimon said as it charged at the Ultimate level digimon. Cherrymon went to smack its attacker away with a backhand but found himself shot in the back by Gargomon. The tree digimon turned around and shot a vine at the bunny before he turned around. Riamei's digimon barely dodged the attack before another vine knocked it down to the ground.

Gargomon slowly stood up and gritted his teeth, "That the best you go?" He smirked as Cherrymon shot several more vines at him. Strikedramon growled as he ran up behind the Cherrymon.

"Strike Claw!" He exclaimed as he slashed at the back of the digimon. Cherrymon fell flat on its face before it slowly stood up. As it finally got to its feet, Gargomon smacked it with one of its arms and fired its gun and point blank range. Sending the tree skidding back. It growled before a Woodmon flew into it. I looked over to see Dobermon ripping and tearing the stump digimon apart.

"Come on! Is this the best you whelps got?!" Dobermon laughed as a Woodmon came from behind and attempted to bash Dobermon over the head. However the Doberman digimon turned around and fired a black beam straight into the digimons face and sent it careening into the air.

"That's the last we'll see of him," Dobermon grinned as Garurumon jumped fired a Howling Blast at Another Woodmon, this had the stump digimon scattering in a panic. However I looked over at Strikedramon, whose body was now engulfed in flame. The digimon ran forward as Cherrymon shot several vines at him. The dragon digimon easily ducked and dodged out of the way like it was child's play. Although it seemed as if Vega's digimon was out running the vines all together! Like it was some sort of fiery blur. Finally Strikedramon slammed itself into Cherrymon's body. The ultimate level digimon skidded like a stone across a lake before it finally landed on its back.

"Ooo, my head," The Cherrymon said as it got up, "What happened to me?"

"Hey!" Gargomon snapped, "Don't you play dumb! You attacked us!"

"I did?" The Cherrymon said, still rather confused, "But I don't attack people…I'm the guide of Silent Forest…"

Gargomon sighed, "Some guide you are," He muttered under his breath.

"You're a guide?" I exclaimed, "Perhaps you can tell us where we are!"

"You're on File Island," The Cherrymon said, "In the Silent Forest."

I nodded, "Wait…File Island?"

Vega nodded, "Yeah it was one of the recently discovered places in the digital world. Apparently, the first digi-destined had their adventure here."

"Digi-what?" I asked, "Never mind, we need to get out of here."

The Cherrymon nodded, "Then you'll have to follow me." He said as he began to walk off.

"Thank goodness he didn't notice all the Woodmon we killed," Dobermon sighed as we began to follow our guide.

"So did you know there is a giant castle in this forest?" I asked the digimon.

"What?" Cherrymon blinked, "Don't be silly, if there were a castle here I would know about it. I know this place like the back of my hand."

"That's odd," Tallas said, "It's as if he mind was in another place when he was attacking us."

Vega then looked at Lync, "So who is this guy?"

"His names Lync," I said, "They were a prison mate."

"They?" Vega blinked before I leaned in a whispered.

"I'm having a hard time telling if it's a girl or a guy and I don't want to call them an it," I said.

Vega nodded, "Well they might know something about what is going on here. We're going to take him to the DATS Center for questioning, after we get you guys a hot meal."

My stomach growled, "Alright! Food!"

"That's the Carlos we know and love!" Vega laughed as we disappeared off into the tree line.
