Sonic in Minecraft CHAPTER 11

(Shadow's POV):

"Alright, time for some miniiiing!" Vector chimes, handing Knuckles, Silver and I each a stone pickaxe.

"Do we have toooo?" Silver slouches, holding the pickaxe over his shoulder.

"Well do you want to keep surviving? Do you want to build new things?" Vector gives him a look.

"But don't we only need the animals for that? And don't we already have a place to live?"

"There might be more riches! We just have to keep looking you fart."

"Guys just shut up and let's go." I open the door to Vector's mining shack-thing, almost falling because I don't notice the hole in the ground.

"Oh, there's a ladder down there. You gotta climb down and I've got like a mining tunnel, try just going in different directions. Maybe we should split up?" Vector pushes me aside and starts climbing down with the square pickaxe in his mouth.

I leap over him, falling to the ground below with a good landing. "Showoff!" he shouts at me.

I start walking, swinging the pickaxe around and ignoring Vector calling after me. I'm definitely not a miner, but I'd prefer to do it alone. Until I feel something pulling onto my pickaxe and dragging me back. I look up to see Silver, making a "where do you think you're going" face. He drops me, and puts his hands on his hips. "We should stick together," He says.

"I'm not sticking with any of you." I push myself off the floor.

"Well what if you find something cool and amazing? And you keep it from us?"

"So?"

"Shadow," Vector places a hand on my shoulder, which I quickly shove off. "we need to work together to get out of here."

"Look, I'll bring back whatever I find. Calm down." I turn and walk away.

So after about an hour of digging through stone and occasionally some iron or redstone, I decide to take a little break and sit against the wall. I don't think I'm too far from the other three, I think I can hear Silver yelling about a pickaxe breaking. All the voices echo.

I open my eyes when I hear pounding on the wall in front of me. I sit up, staring at it.

Eventually the stone breaks, and Knuckles falls out, landing right on his face. He looks up at me. "What the fuck?"

"Hey you fell here." I shrug.

All of the sudden, his expression goes from confusion to full-blown anger. "you bitch," he mumbles before leaping at me, fist-first.

"Hey!" I roll to the side. "What the hell are you doing!?"

"You, you stole her!"

"You mean Rouge?!"

"Yeah, the chick you made out with right in front of me. Remember?" He throws another punch.

"So? Get over it."

"AARGH!" He becomes enraged, tackling me throwing more and more punches with more speed. He lands a few, grunting and making angry noises. I punch him back and kick him away from me.

"She doesn't want you. Stop being an angry baby and get over it." I watch him sitting on the floor and staring at the ground. "You might've been able to have a chance with her before, but you blew it. You waited way too long, and you lost her. You messed it up for yourself. Yes, I did kiss her right in front of you. But that was because I didn't want you to ruin it for me. As much as I hate people, I've always liked her. But I didn't start to like her like this until we got here. I saw that she really did care about me… as much as I pushed everyone away. And you know what? I acted on it. And now I have this… amazing girl, who I'd kick your ass for. You have all this dumb ass anger that's just going to drive her away more, and going after me isn't going to do anything but make everyone annoyed with you. You need to knock your shit off, or I'll knock you out."

The echidna looks up at me, "Why don't you fight me for her then?" he smiles, and leaps at me. I punch him multiple times, sweep my leg on the floor to knock him down, and climb on top of him, hitting him again. He fights back angrily, kicking me hard enough to knock me back into the wall.

"Stop!" Rouge's voice yells suddenly. We both stop and stare at her.

"What the hell is going on!?" She steps between us, pushing Knuckles away from me. "God fucking dammit Knuckles, why can't you just stop this fighting crap! It's not worth it."

"Rouge I… I just—" Knuckles reaches for her arm. I glare at him, watching his every move.

"No, stop!" She shoves his arm away, shaking her head.

"I'm just… trying to fight for you…"

"Well, you know what? I don't need to be fought for." Rouge moves towards me and stands at my side, grabbing my hand. "So stop, please. Go mine or whatever somewhere else."

Knuckles grunts, but walks through the hole he created and fell through earlier. But before he continues walking, he turns around and places stone to cover the hole up.

(Rouge's POV):

"What are you doing down here?" Shadow raises an eyebrow at me, dropping my hand.

"I couldn't resist the thought of the treasures to be found!" I giggle, examining the tunnel Shadow has created. "So uh… I heard what you said a bit ago… it was sweet."

"Oh, that? It was pretty hard to come up with nice shit to say. But I guess it got to Knuckles huh?" A hmph escapes his mouth as he crosses his arms and looks down at the floor. "Wasn't really a big deal."

"Heh." I tap my foot.

"Oh, uh, well of course I meant it and everything," Shadow stammers, breaking a little moment of silence.

I roll my eyes and kiss him. He makes a grunt noise, not expecting it. When I step away to head back up, he grabs my arm and pulls me back to him.

"Thank you…" He whispers.

"For what?" I question. Is Shadow, the ultimate life-form, thanking me for stopping a fight?

"Choosing me…" Oh.

"I didn't have to choose… Knuckles isn't right for me. Alright?" I give him a smile and another kiss, and fly away.

(Sonic's POV):

"So… this is your, uh, mining-tunnel?" We're all following Steve through one of the many mining places he tells us he's made.

"Yes." He nods, leading us around multiple turns and long hallways. He turns to Tails, "I made a secret tunnel through here. I have a chest in here that has plenty of useful building materials in it."

Tails nods, stepping in front of me. We watch him break two squares of the wall. "Sorry I'm only used to there being one person. It's gonna be a tight squeeze."

"Oh… god." Espio backs up. "I'll go last."

"Mister claustrophobic?" Amy cocks an eyebrow at him, then rushes to my side.

"Ho ho ho!" I make claws in the air at Espio.

"Shut up," He pushes me by my face and backs up a step.

"Guys, c'mon!" Tails nudges my arm and nods towards the whole that Steve made, a long narrow hallway.

"Alrighty," I head in with Amy at my heels. She grabs my hand as we're walking.

We reach the end, and enter this stone room with a chest against the wall. There's a cave off to the side.

"This isn't supposed to be here…" Steve walks to the edge of where the cave starts. "It looks like someone blew the wall up."

"Maybe a creeper got in here?" I suggest.

"That would mean someone had to be in here. They don't blow up unless they're around someone."

"Hm… Check the chest?"

He walks toward the chest, and opens it. A moment later he turns back to us, "its… empty."

"What!?" Amy freaks out. "How are we gonna surviiiive!" She overreacts…

"Its not like we can't find our own crap," Espio crosses his arms over his chest. "Wait—" His eyes move towards the cave. "Is that… a torch over there?"

"Let's follow it!" I jump down, ignoring Steve and Tails telling me to stop and stay back. Amy rushes after me, and Espio dashes ahead. We reach a stone end, where there's a torch on the wall. "Give me a pickaxe." I look between the two.

Steve shows up with one, and holds it out to me. "Here."

I swing the iron pickaxe at the wall, until it breaks. It leads to the surface, so I walk through and look around. "Guys, I think I see something." I point out at some sort of structure way into the distance, barely in my line of vision.

"Maybe it's the others! We should go look!" Way to be positive Amy.

She starts her girly run to the edge of the grass, where a river cuts into the land. "I don't want to get wet…"

I smirk, thinking that's what she said! But instead of saying anything, I pick the pink hedgehog up and start dashing across the water. I glance down at her face, the way her eyes are looking at me with pure… something…

And I lose track of my feet, now I'm underwater.

And Amy is too.

Trying my best not to completely freak out in this situation, considering how much being in water terrifies me enough. But I need to get her.

She's sinking, she's sinking, she's sinking.

No… I'm sinking.

She's reaching out to me, but I'm falling faster than she can swim.

Maybe I should stop kicking my legs…

I'm making myself swim down.

My terror stiffens me, and my vision starts fading away.

My body screams for a breath that it can't take. A breath that'll never take again.

Before it goes black, I can barely mouth: Amy, I love you.

Goodnight world.
