A/N SPRING BREAK, UPDATING! HOMEWORK ISN'T AS IMPORTANT AS THIS! Spending my day updating fanfictions, yay! ^^

~Hermione POV~

"Okay the coast is clear Mione, I don't know where he is." Ginny yelled from outside our room, the sarcasm notable in her voice. "Shut up Gin, you should know why I'm so cautious!" I yelled with a frown as I pulled on a dark green sweater, black jeans, and black boots. "Why don't you just tell him Mione?" She asked with a sigh as she steppe din the time, me putting my hair in a bun. "Because it was a mistake, he doesn't fancy me." I said softly, shaking my head. "But he kissed you! Of course he must fancy you, at least a little bit!" She sighed, rolling her eyes at me. "He could have just been in a good mood." I said softly with a shrug.

"You are so unbelievable." She grumbled as she tugged me out of the room. "Look, I shouldn't tell you this but I know for a fact he fancies you, and I'm going on a date with Neville today. So you can sit around the house and mope or whatever and I can't wait until we get back to school tomorrow." She mumbled as she ran away from me and hurried down the stairs. I stood there stunned; did she say Fred fancied me? Was she just trying to make me feel better? I shook my head and went back into our room to get gloves and a scarf, going to go read outside since it was beautiful outside. It was cold, but still beautiful.

~Fred Pov~
We were outside playing Quidditch when Ginny ran outside. "Oi put the game on pause! The next step just happened; I need to figure out how it went!" I said quickly as I flew down next to my sister. At this point everyone but Hermione knew what I was planning. Even though I had a lot of doubt in my friends and family, when it really mattered they were able to hold it together. I had some faith in them to keep it in, which will be hard since a lot of them know. "What's up Gin? How did it go?" I asked excitedly, getting off of my broom, holding it tightly in my hand in anticipation.

"I just came out and said it. I bluntly said you fancied her and then ran off. She was stunned. She does fancy you though, I know she does. And if any of us know Hermione, which I do because she is my best friend, you know that will start her thinking. 'Hey, maybe he will ask me out? Fred is such a great guy. I wonder if he's going to kiss me again. I wonder how long we'll be together. I wonder if we're going to work.' And other stuff of course." She said with a shrug of her shoulders. "So she didn't laugh or anything?" I asked, making sure there was no fault in my plan. "No, she definitely fancies you. There is no way she doesn't, now I have to go, bye!" She said cheerily before walking away. I grinned; everything was going according to plan.

~Hermione POV~
Ginny said she didn't know where he was, which meant he was probably not at home. I had packed a small lunch in case I got hungry and had grabbed Sense and Sensibility, I wouldn't need anything else for the rest of the day. I grabbed the tiny picnic basket I had and walked out the front door…Until I saw the guys playing Quidditch. I paled slightly; Ginny must have lied to me. I shook my head and quickly kept my head down as I ran to the back garden. I had figured I would spend the day in the front, looking around and having a good time in isolation, but of course that wasn't going to happen. The backyard wasn't so bad, I suppose, besides the gnomes and all.

I figured the guys hadn't seen me, I mean they looked like they were having a pretty intensive match which was actually in my favor. I was having a nice time, eating an apple and reading my book, careful not to let any of the snow melt on my book. I was still a bit cold but I could make do. "Hey Mione, are you cold?" A voice asked and I almost jumped out of my skin. I was relieved to see it was Harry. I smiled in relief as he joined me. "A bit, what do you have there?" I asked curiously. "Hot chocolate, I saw you come back here. When we went inside we couldn't find you though, is something the matter?" He asked as he handed the thermos over to me. "No, of course nothing is the matter Harry." I answered simply, shaking my head. "Then why are you back here?" He asked me and I fell silent.

"Okay, okay, you've got me. I'm back here to avoid Fred. I'm sure you heard about what happened at the wedding." I mumbled as I sipped at the beverage. "I actually saw you two, you looked so cute together." He said with a grin and I glared at him, elbowing him in the side. "Don't look so happy about it. He doesn't fancy me." I whispered, shaking my head. "Yes he does Mione, are you blind? Do you not see the way he looks at you? Do you not see how happy he is now? Do you not see how he will do anything to cheer you up? Do you not see how much effort he put into that Christmas gift for you? I mean, Fred doesn't do sentimental gifts. He found a picture of you two and went to an antique shop and found that old locket because it reminded him of you." He said rolling his eyes and I looked at him with a slight smile. "He does?" I asked in a whisper as I held tugged at the locket gently. "He does. He genuinely fancies you." He said as he got up, looking down at me. "I'm going to leave you here by yourself now. Come join us if you want to." He said before walking away.

I considered following after him but I needed to be alone with my thoughts and the best way to do that is to read. I had just unwrapped my peanut butter and jelly sandwich and was about to start eating it when something hit me in the side of the face. I shrieked and made a grab for my wand, putting down the sandwich frantically. "What the hell?" I asked as I wiped the snow off of me, glaring at Fred. "What do you mean? I threw a snowball at you." He chuckled as I put my book down and moved everything to the side so he could join me. "I know! Why did you do that to me?" I asked bitterly.

"You looked so focused and I just took the opportunity…Even though I'm growing up it doesn't mean I can stop pranking people when they give me such an easy opportunity. But, don't you worry I brought a peace offering, see? I come with a fluffy blue blanket." He said as he sat beside me, wrapping the blanket around us. "I suppose I forgive you then, just a tiny bit." I grumbled, trying not to smile. "Oh whatever, you forgive me all the way or you would be hexing my arse off." He chuckled as he pulled me close. "Why aren't you inside with the others?" I asked, my face going red. "Because I knew you were out here by yourself, I thought you'd rather have my company than they would." He chuckled.

"I like being alone but your company isn't that bad." I answered softly with a small laugh as I leaned against him. "So are you excited to go back to school tomorrow?" I asked giggling, knowing his answer would most likely than not be no. "For being the smartest witch of our age you sure ask some stupid questions. Obviously I am not excited." He responded, rolling his eyes at me. "I know, and there are no such things as stupid questions, as long as I'm the one asking them." I grinned. "Right, right, that's of course how it works, thanks for reminding me." He said sarcastically and I nodded my head.

"So did Harry come out and talk to you? He disappeared for a few minutes." He said looking at me. I frowned and nodded my head, avoiding his gaze. "Yeah, he did, he brought me hot chocolate as well." I answered softly, biting my lip. "What did you guys talk about?" He asked expectantly. I blushed and shrugged my shoulders, trying to play it off. "Oh you know nothing great or different. We just talked about school and all that other stuff." I answered. "You know he told me everything right?" He asked in amusement. "O-Oh, okay. Then you know he told me you fancied me? Which is ridiculous right?" I asked him and he shook his head. "No, it isn't ridiculous. I fancy you Mione. Will you-"He started before I cut him off and kissed him.

"Did you just kiss me?" He asked and I nodded my head, laughing giddily. "Yeah, I believe I just did." I answered him as I got up and walked a few feet away. "Well now I have more confidence in asking will you-"He started before I threw a snowball at him. "Payback, that was payback!" I laughed as he looked at me, a bit annoyed. He got up and I expected him to walk away. I did not expect him to tackle me to the snow covered ground and started tickling me. "S-Stop it Fred, please!" I laughed, trying to push his hands away from my sides. "Then will you please just let me finish? Bloody hell Hermione, you're a pain in the arse sometimes!" He chuckled and I nodded my head. "Yes, of course I will let you finish, go on." I said softly as he leaned down and kissed me. "Will you be my girlfriend Mione?" He asked once he pulled away from me. "Yes, of course I will Fred." I answered with the biggest smile on my face.

We had stayed outside for a few more hours, talking and laughing and enjoying each other's company. Fred Weasley was my boyfriend, it was so weird to say but it was so amazing to say at the same time. "Come on, let's go inside. I'm sure everyone knows by now." He said as he scooped me up in his arms. "Wait, let me grab my book!" I said as I brushed the snow out of my hair and he picked up my book for me, we could get everything else later. "I like this you carrying me thing." I said and he rolled his eyes. "Don't get too used to it Mione."

We were sitting down on the couch; I curled up beside him around the fire as everyone else chatted about us. It was after dinner and I was getting tired. Everyone was thrilled once they heard the news, especially Mrs. Weasley. She welcomed me officially to the family and I chuckled awkwardly, since Fred and I were just beginning to date. By now the only thing we were talking about is school. Tomorrow we would be back at Hogwarts. Tomorrow would be my first day back on Head Girl's duty and tomorrow I would be happy. Tomorrow would be happy because today I had a boyfriend, the best boyfriend I've ever had. I fell asleep thinking about all the possibilities of the following day and the rest of the days at Hogwarts. I figured I would wake up on the couch but the next morning I woke up in my bed, covered up and my scarf and boots on the floor beside the bed. I sat up and got out of bed, starting to pack with a smile on my face.

A/N I'm seeing two to three more chapters before I finish this
