Chapter 10

-A plan to take down Acnologia-

The next day during the evening Carin found herself together with her grandfather and Makarov in the Magic Council's Fiore Branch building. This was the only building of the Magic Council which wasn't destroyed by Jackal.

"So this is a building of the Magic Council..." Carin whispered to herself as she followed Shutai and Makarov who were lead by Doranbolt. The Magic Council had heard what had happened in Magnolia and that Shutai was the one who might be able to fight against him. However, Carin was also ordered to come with them because of her being the famous Witch. She had a bad feeling because of this but tried to suppress those awkward feeling deep inside herself.

Seemingly the Guild Masters of some other Guilds also decided to come as Carin saw Goldmine, Bob and Ooba Babasaama. Behind them she noticed Sting – the new Master of Sabertooth – and smiled that at least someone, who she is good friends with since the Great Banquet, appeared here.

"Hey, Sting." She said and he also nodded.

"Oh, Carin-san, you also came." He said as they were walking next to each other.

"Yes, I was ordered to come, too, because of this stupid reputation as the Witch." She replied with a sigh. "Although I won't be able to be really conducive to it."

"Heh, I see." Sting replied. "How's Natsu-san?"

"He's all right. Although we all have gotten some grave injuries from the Dragon's attacks." Carin added. Through Grandeeney's treatment she only had her head bandaged and the rest of her injuries were already fully healed.

"So the Dragons not only appeared in our town." Sting muttered surprised as they walked into a big room where a huge table was in the middle. The members of the new Magic Council whose names Carin couldn't remember sat around the table and looked up to the them. The Masters of the Guilds, Shutai and Carin then entered the room and were invited to sit down. Carin sat down between Sting and her grandfather. This was entirely new for her, she had never been to such a meeting.

"So, we welcome the Masters of the most prominent Guilds of all Fiore here." A male member said. "And of course the two guests."

"We have heard what happened to the Guilds, but the town where Fairy Tail is located – Magnolia – got nearly fully destroyed by the Dragons." Another member said. "However, the Dragons disappeared after something or somebody scared them away."

"To be honest, it was me who scared them away. I was awakened by the Fairy Tail Mages after a long slumber." Shutai said. "The Dragons were only trying to spread chaos which would summon the dark Dragon of the book of Apocalypse – Acnologia."

"So the Dragons wanted to summon Acnologia?"

"Yes, but that would be a good opportunity to kill Acnologia. After all he has only the immortality of a Dragon, he can be killed in battle." Shutai said and stopped, probably thinking how to tell them about his plan but Carin thought they first needed to know something about Acnologia.

"Well, that would be possible through a certain spell. Acnologia had been once a Human – a Dragon Slayer – who was turned into a Dragon by Zeref. Through this spell their souls became somehow synchronized so whenever Acnologia will die then Zeref will and if Zeref dies then so does Acnologia. It's like killing two birds with one stone." Carin told them and the Magic Council members looked quite surprised hearing this. The fact that Acnologia was once a Human was unknown to the most people and so they reacted quite shocked.

"That's the point. There's a spell to reach the opposite effect – turning him back into a Human. He would be more vulnerable then." Shutai said. "However, a lone Mage's Magic Power is not enough to cast the spell since he had been a Dragon for such a long time."

They then continued to talk about this while Carin listened halfway and rubbed her chin. She wondered whether the Magic Power of all Fairy Tail Mages and the Dragons who will help then might even be enough. But the Magic Council and the Masters were agreeing that the other Guilds will help in that case and send their strongest members.

"Acnologia could appear in every part of their country. You'll need a lure to make him appear." A female member of the Magic Council said.

"I can take over that part. After all I fought him and he's searching for me to fight me once again. He's a very arrogant person who hates it to lose so he want a rematch. My Magic Power would let him know where I am and he'll definitely come then."

She could feel how her grandfather looked at her with a displeased expression but she doesn't cared, after all this would give them an advantage – Acnologia won't destroy anything on his way to get revenge for the draw. Carin then reminded herself to continue repairing her armor – she had started to repair him yesterday since she found the Spell which would turn Acnologia back into a Human and showed it to Shutai who then made up the plan. She hadn't told Laxus about it because he would be strongly against it. Now she is involved in the plan and there's no way she could back away.

After the meeting finished Carin was the first one to leave to get some fresh air. She had never been here so she was quite surprised how much the building resembled the Zentopia Church from it's style.

Outside she then came across Rouge Cheney and the two Exceed Lector and Frosch.

"Oh, look, it's Carin-san!" Lector shouted as he spotted her and she smiled as she walked up to them.

"Long time no see, Rouge." She greeted the Shadow Dragon Slayer with whom she also got befriended during the Great Banquet.

"Yes, it's nice to see you." He replied and nodded. She then crouched down to the Exceed to greet the two.

"Nice to see you two, too." She said with a smile as she greeted the Exceed. She had saw Frosch not so long ago when he went lost and went across her and Laxus, asking for directions.

"Here you are, Rouge." Sting then also arrived and approached the four. "And also Carin-san!"

"Well, I wanted to say hello." She replied.

"Carin-san, you are free to come and visit our Guild whenever you want to! We even have an own pool. I bet Fairy Tail doesn't have one." Sting said with a wide grin.

"Uhm, sorry to disappoint you, but we do have a pool in our Guild building." She said and Sting made a shocked expression, crouching down on the ground.

"And I thought we're the first ones to have one..." He whined.

"Houston, we have a problem." Lector said, crossing his arms in front of his chest.

"Fro thinks so, too." Frosch replied.

"It's not like Guilds are competing about something like that." Rouge said then as if he tried to cheer his friend up.

"Well, I'll surely find time to visit your Guild soon." Carin replied, trying to cheer the young Guild Master up. Sting then looked up to Carin and she smiled at him.

Shutai and Makarov then left the building and called for her. Saying good-bye to the two Dragon Slayers and Exceed Carin then headed over to the two old men.

"So those two were Dragon Slayers, too?" Shutai asked and Carin nodded.

"Weisslogia and Skiadrum's sons."

Shutai then rubbed his chin as he presumably remembered the two Dragons. Carin knew that they have been close to him as they were talking about him back then when she was walking around as the Witch.

Some time later they finally arrived at the Fairy Tail Guild and Carin told her friends about the plan they had agreed on during the meeting, however she let out the part that she would be playing the lure.

"You really want to take down that Dragon?" Gray asked surprised while Carin only shrugged.

"He's not immortal, unlike Zeref. So it's much easier to finish Acnologia off than the other way round."

"But to think we have to fight once again with the other Guilds..." Erza said and they all seemingly remembered what had happened back then – when they were fighting against the Dragons during the Dragon King Festival. She only hoped that none of her friends would lose their live as she went over to the infirmary to check on Laxus.

When she walked inside he was standing next to the bed and buttoned up a dark blue shirt.

"Porlyusica said my legs are okay to stand up." He quickly said as he saw how Carin furrowed her brows. Not only he was the only one all right, even the others were up again and had left the infirmary. Laxus was the only one remaining here, putting on his own clothes. "How was the meeting?"

"Interesting. Although the Magic Council doesn't seemed to be happy that Fairy Tail was taking part in the meeting but at least they had agreed on something." Carin replied as Laxus put a coat over his shoulders. "I guess the reputation of Fairy Tail even got the new Magic Council to dislike us – again."

"So what did your gramps and the Magic Council agreed to do?"

"Well, do you remember that book we've found in the library? Grandfather searched through it and found a spell which would turn Acnologia back into a human. This may be a good chance to try it out." She replied. "So the Magic Council told the other Guild Masters to send their strongest members here to help us – also some Magic Council soldiers will arrive if I understood it right."

"So they really plan to take down that big thing?" Laxus wondered as they walked outside. He seemingly wanted to go on a walk since he couldn't move for three full days.

Once they were outside of the Guild she noticed how Laxus wrapped a hand around hers, intertwining their fingers and she looked surprised up to him. He looked quite embarrassed as he scratched his head. She smiled as she saw him reacting like that but was happy to get to hold his hand.

The others in the Guild seemingly also realized that those two were together now as they started to tease Carin which only made her embarrassed so she teased them back. After all she wasn't the only one person who was in love with someone there.

Lucy loves Natsu, Juvia loves Gray, Erza loves Jellal, Levy was madly in love with Gajeel and even Wendy seemed to like Romeo. Even Cana said something about liking Bacchus from Quattro Cerberus.

"Yes, that's the only way to stop the Dragons. Even through Zephyr is dead they seem to follow his order. The Dragons are ravaging the other towns, after all. It's not only ours which was affected by this." She replied. "Acnologia won't appear only through chaos, though. They talked about a lure so I decided to do this part..."

Carin however couldn't tell him more as Laxus suddenly stopped and squeezed her hand tightly. He glared at her and Carin wondered what was going on.

"You're playing the lure for Acnologia?" He hissed and looked with a serious expression at her.

"Uhm... yeah. After all he's searching for me for so long so I'm probably the best lure." She said and then suddenly Laxus pressed her close to his chest and pressed his lips on hers, kissing her passionately. "Ghm..."

He doesn't let go of her and continued to kiss her while Carin tried to stop him and asking him what was going on.

"You idiot! What will happen if you die!" He said and raised his hands as he pinched her cheeks.

"Huh?" She looked surprised that he was worried about her but then smiled.

"I don't want you to use Soul Shift again. Even through it would save you, you can be asleep for so long again. I don't think I would – could you stop grinning like that?!"

Carin couldn't stop smiling hearing that he was caring this much about her but Laxus made only an embarrassed expression.

"Well, you're so honest with your feelings which is really unusual so I'm happy." She replied and then hugged him while still smiling. Laxus only sighed and patted her head. "But don't worry, I won't let myself get killed, after all I have you all around me to fight against Acnologia – unlike back then."

Laxus only made a grimace and hugged her tightly, stroking through her hair.

"Well, then don't go away from me then during the fight." He said and Carin laughed as he told her that.

"All right." She replied and Laxus nodded.

"Good thing to hear that." He said and pulled her closer to kiss her again, this time it was a more tender and soft kiss which made her cheeks turning red and her heart started to beat faster. She put her arms tighter around his muscular body and enjoyed his warmth enveloping her body. The two of them then pulled away and the couple then continued to walk through the halfway destroyed streets of Magnolia. Carin however only furrowed her brows as she remembered how Acnologia ravaged back then in her home town. Her home town was deep in the mountains in the mountains west to Crocus. It was the biggest mountain town in Fiore but got eradicated by Acnologia but was no more on any map of the country.

"Why so lost in thoughts?" Laxus asked as he noticed that Carin was looking absent-minded at the halfway destroyed houses.

"Well, the destroyed houses make me remember how Acnologia destroyed my home town back then... and eradicated it. It had been as big as Magnolia but right now there are only ruins... even our house was decayed." She bit her bottom lip as she remembered how she traveled there because she wanted to see it. The houses were all still destroyed and covered by greenery. The house where she had been born was still standing but everything was decayed, molded and also some furniture was broken down.

"Don't worry, this won't happen here." Laxus said as he tried to cheer her up. Carin only smiled and nodded as she noticed that they were outside of the town and were walking towards a house she never knew there was one.

"Is that your home?" She wondered as Laxus walked towards the home, holding hands with her.

"Yeah, but don't tell Natsu and Gajeel that I'm living here." He said as he unlocked the door and walked inside. Carin followed him inside and looked around. His house still was standing – unlike hers. Her apartment was destroyed and so she was sleeping in the Guild just like some other Mages of Fairy Tail, mostly sleeping next to Laxus's bed while he was not allowed to move. Laxus house was similar to her apartment and seemed to be really cozy.

Laxus seemingly wanted to know if his home was standing as he checked the other rooms while Carin only looked around. Just like in her own home there were also some photos in his living room, just like the photo of a very small Laxus and a woman with light hair. She wondered whether it was Laxus's mother. She looked very kind and so Carin wondered why his mother married Ivan. However watching his mother reminded her of her own and smiled softly remembering her mother's kind smile.

"What are you doing?" Laxus asked as he returned to the living room and saw her watching the picture.

"Oh, I only noticed that you also have got some old pictures here." She replied and then pointed at the pictures.

"Uh... oh, yeah." He said and held out a cup to Carin. "Here, a drink."

"Oh, thanks." Carin said and took the cup. She drank the warm tea Laxus had made for her and looked still at the picture of his mother. "You don't look like her – you're more like Master."

"Yeah, I'm really a Dreyar." He said and Carin smiled as she saw his smile while looking at the picture of his mother.

"Actually... what had happened your mother?" She asked and looked up to him. She was hesitant to ask him about his mother. Carin knew that some people doesn't like to talk about their parents because something bad happened – just like she doesn't like to talk about her parents. Her mother was brutally killed by Acnologia in front of her eyes and her father was the darkest Mage ever.

"I don't know. I was three when she suddenly disappeared and none of my family told me about her." He replied and shrugged. "We all have got parents who either disappeared, died or were killed."

"Yes, but we've got the people in our Guild as a family." Carin replied and grabbed his hand. Laxus also nodded and then put his arms around her, pulling her close to his chest. His face then came closer to hers and Carin closed her eyes automatically as his lips pressed on hers, kissing her briefly. Remembering that this was Laxus's home her face turned red and Laxus grinned as he stroked with his thumb over Carin's cheek.

"Why are you blushing so much?" He asked and she bit on her bottom lip.

"Well, this is your home... and well, you're a guy..." She muttered but couldn't move on as Laxus chuckled, stroking over her hair and pressed his forehead against her.

"Do you think I would try to do something?" He asked while she shrugged.

"I don't know, you're a guy... so..." She murmured and felt how his hand suddenly slipped underneath her skirt and she yelped while her whole face turned dark red.

"H-hey! What are you doing?!" She shouted and Laxus laughed seeing her expression. "That's not funny!"

"Oh, really?" He asked but she only stuck out her tongue, Laxus however then kissed her and Carin furrowed her brows as he pulled her closer. He had first his hands on her back but then they slid down on her butt. She tried to pull away but Laxus doesn't backed away and kneaded her butt.

"W-what are you...?!"

"You're right. I'm a guy and I had enough of not being able to touch you like I wanted because of my injured legs." He said as he pulled away, looking in her eyes.

"Uhm..."

Carin's face turned more red and her heart started to beat faster as she noticed how she got nervous. Laxus smirked seeing her embarrassed expression and stroked through her hair. "Don't worry, I won't force you to anything." He said but Carin shook her head.

"No... It's all right." She replied and then stood on her tiptoes to kiss him. Laxus looked surprised down on her but then put his arms around her, kissing her more passionately. His tongue invaded her mouth, dancing with hers as he squeezed her tightly in his arms.

He had put his hands on her hips and then they slid up. He grabbed the belt underneath her chest which was keeping her blouse and the skirt together.

"But what about your legs?"

"Don't worry about them now." He replied and kissed her, trapping her between the wall and himself, pressing her close to himself. Laxus then swiftly took off her top while she squeaked and tried to hide her chest but he grabbed her wrists and pinned her arms over her head against the wall.

"Don't hide from me." He hissed and kissed her passionately, his lips wandering down.

"But it's embarrassing..." She muttered shyly as she tried to get her hands free but somehow her body was much more weaker now, giving in to the pleasurable feeling.

Laxus then touched a more sensitive spot and Carin gasped as the feeling was unfamiliar to her and her legs started to tremble. Laxus then picked her up into her arms, going over to another room which seemed to be his bedroom. He put her down on his bed and hovered then over her, stroking over her sensitive spots.

"Feels good?" He asked and she nodded slowly as he kissed her again, still stroking over her body.

"Mhm..." She then felt how he grabbed her skirt and pulled it off and then also his own clothes followed it and Carin felt how her face turned red as she looked at his body but she tried not to look further down.

"It can hurt so sorry." Laxus said as he hugged her close and then Carin got a feeling like a bolt piercing through her body which she thought was first Laxus's lightning Magic but the pain then made her eyes appear in the corner of her eyes. Laxus leaned over to her, kissing her tears away as he slowly started to move which made her wince as the pain returned.

"Ugh..." She pierced her fingernails in his flesh as he moved faster and she put her head in her neck, giving in to the passion.
