Chapter Eleven
Kagome watched as the trees whizzed by her faster than she could have ever imagined, a sigh escaped her lips and Sesshomaru stopped for only a minute to make sure everything was ok. Kagome smiled up at him and curled Akihiko tightly to her chest, noting his fear of the large demon towering over them. Akihiko's fear was the only thing that kept Kagome from giving in to her own fear, she knew she had to stay strong for him and so she did.
Sesshomaru looked down at Akihiko and gave a slight growl of disapproval, but continued on his run. As suddenly as they had started moving they stopped and Kagome looked down at the small girl and the toad she remembered was named Jaken, she gave them both a small smile as Sesshomaru released her waist.
"Hi, Rin."
"Kagome-sama!" Rin chirped, looking at Sesshomaru's blood red eyes the girl gasped, bowing low. "Jaken-sama, what is wrong with Sesshomaru?"
Jaken dropped to his knees with his forehead pressed to the grown, his fear radiating off of him in waves, he was showing his submission and it seemed to be working.
With another displeased growl towards Jaken, Sesshomaru gently pried the boy from Kagome's arms, her glare going unnoticed, and placed him on the ground next to Rin with a sense of finality.
"Sesshomaru what do you think –" Kagome was abruptly silenced when his arm wrapped around her waist and they were once again running. Where to, Kagome didn't know but she was a little more than frightened.
Sesshomaru came to a stop in a wide clearing, letting Kagome go he stepped back and breathed in a ragged breath taking in everything that she was. His eyes ravaged her, causing a blush to rise from her chest to her cheeks. He could feel the heat of her body only a foot away from him, the pulsing of her heart, the small inhales she took and the way her chest rose and fell with every single breath. Breathing deep he sucked in the scent that was Kagome, with a low growl of approval Sesshomaru took a step forward only to narrow his eyes when Kagome took a step back.
Kagome tilted her head to the side, looking at Sesshomaru who didn't seem to do more than just stare. "Sesshomaru?" She tried her best to stay calm, tried her best to keep her breath even and level. She did not know what he was going to do, he looked savage and she wasn't sure if he was going to murder her or not.
Taking another step forward and watching her take an equal step back Sesshomaru's beast growled in approval, a smirk pulling across his deadly features. She is playing he purred, proud of his choice in mates.
"S-Sesshomaru?" Kagome croaked, holding her ground. His eyes flashed at her heatedly, making Kagome catch her breath quickly. "Are you o-okay?"
With a chuckle Sesshomaru was suddenly standing inches in front of her, his lips brushing against the lobe of her ear making her shiver. "I am fine." His voice was thick and husky, sending a dangerous heat throughout Kagome's body that pooled low in her abdomen. "And you, Kagome." His words came out a dangerous purr, "Are you 'okay'?"
Kagome stuttered and tried to take a step back, but Sesshomaru followed her until she was pushed tightly against a thick tree. She sucked in deep, trying to ignore the sensation of his body pressed tightly against her so she could feel every line, every muscle, every curve, every everything that was Sesshomaru.
Dipping his head low Sesshomaru brought his mouth to the crook of her neck and let his tongue dart out for only a second, just to taste her. To his satisfaction Kagome let out a little mew of pleasure, her back arching into him and her hands balling around the cloth at his hips tugging him closer to her.
Sesshomaru growled in pleasure, nipping gently at her neck earning a gasped moan from the girl. With a pleasured purr Sesshomaru brought his lips to hers and pressed down firmly, and at that moment Kagome knew she was lost.

Akihiko looked up at Rin who was grinning down at him despite the toad who was screaming furious behind them. "Hi." She said quickly.
Akihiko nodded, he knew he should be able to trust the girl because his mother spoke to her so kindly but despite that he couldn't help but stay silent, he needed to know for himself.
"I'm Rin," Rin grinned, bringing her hands behind her back she tilted her head to the side. "How do you know Kagome-sama? She is really nice, she used to pick flowers with me whenever her friends and Master Sesshomaru would cross paths! But it was only for a while, I always want her to stay but she never can because her friend, the one with the ears always gets mad at Master Sesshomaru and makes Kagome-sama leave."
Akihiko watched her talk with a bored expression on his face, noting how she didn't seem to stop. "Mother." His words were short and his face was impassive and he winced when Rin squealed in excitement.
"Kagome-sama had a child? That is so exciting! She stayed in the palace with Lord Sesshomaru for a while, she was very kind to me and she helped me learn to read. She is very smart," Rin nodded her head in affirmation, "Do you not have a father? I don't have a father, but I have Lord Sesshomaru and he takes care of me, I am very thankful for that. He is very kind to me even though he doesn't really show it."
Akihiko did not bother to answer, instead he looked at the toad who was running around behind them, his staff waving frantically in the air.
"That whore of a woman!" Jaken screamed, "Tempting Our Sesshomaru with her whore ways! She planned all of this, that damndable woman planned to lure him in with that damn pup and to take the western lands from us! How dare that w –" Before Jaken was able to finish a stone cracked against his skull, rendering him momentarily unconscious.
Akihiko smiled in triumph and Rin laughed, grinning down at the small two year old once again. "He gets really annoying doesn't he?"
Akihiko giggled, finally standing up and looking up at Rin with a smile. "I didn't like the way he was talking about my mother."
"Woah," Rin gasped, "You are really smart!"
"Stupid human," Jaken groaned, glaring at Rin, "He is the heir of Sesshomaru-sama and an Inu, of course he is smart! Inu-youkai are known for their intelligence. But what would you, a lowly human know about th-agh!" Jaken fell once more when Akihiko let loose another stone, smiling when Rin's frown changed into a grin.

Kagome looked up at the night sky and sighed, the wind cooling the flush on her cheeks. Draped over her bare chest with his legs intertwined in her own was Sesshomaru, snoring into her neck. Kagome squeezed her eyes shut, willing everything to be a dream but knowing that it wasn't. She dreaded the time when Sesshomaru awoke, she was not stupid and she knew that what had happened between her and Sesshomaru wasn't between her and Sesshomaru because Sesshomaru had no control, his beast had taken over and last time that happened Sesshomaru nearly killed her the morning after.
With a groan Kagome draped an arm over her eyes, feeling the burn on her collar bone where Sesshomaru had re-marked her. The first time she had no idea what it meant when he dipped his fangs into her and drew that little bit of blood that linked them for eternity. But now, now her instincts screamed at her, let her know exactly what that meant and knew that when Sesshomaru realized it she might just get slaughtered. Taking in a deep breath Kagome did the only thing she could, she slept.
