Chapter 10 I Can Relate
A sound of splashing water.
"Come on guys! The water is cool!" Said Axion inviting his two siblings to the pool.
"Onii-chan, you're going to receive me right? You won't leave me in the water right?" Said the girl who is worried.
"You worry too much, you know Onii-chan isn't going to do such thing." Said the boy reminding her there's nothing to worried about.
The boy jumped into the pool as Axion went to grab him since he can't swim.
Once the girl saw this she decided to follow him.
"Mmm, aye!"
The girl jumped into the pool and Axion went to grab her too.
"Nicely done!" Said Axion complimenting his two siblings.
"T-This is scary…" Said the girl who holds Axion arm while trying to float in the water.
"Haha, this is awesome! Onii-chan let's go deeper." Said the boy who is getting excited.
"I-Idiot, Onii-chan won't able to hold us much longer if we go deeper!" Said the girl afraid for that to happen.
"Sarah is right. Let's move to shallow water for you two to stand on and Enzo please don't kick my leg, I'll seriously going to leave you behind." Said Axion agreeing with his little sister and telling his little brother to stop.
"Ahaha, sorry, Onii-chan," Said Enzo, apologizing while sticking his tongue out.
Sarah Sunday, a timid and smart girl. She's the third child and the only daughter of the Sunday family.
Enzo Sunday, an outgoing and a troublemaker. He's the second child and the second son of the Sunday family.
Both of them are Axion's little siblings, they're right now in a famous indoor swimming pool which is Budapest's Széchenyi thermal bath, the largest thermal/mineral bath in all of Europe.
Széchenyi thermal bath's water features a high concentration of sulphate, calcium, magnesium, and bicarbonate and is fed by two separate springs: one provides water at 74 °C, and the other supplies 77 °C. These waters are used for medicinal purposes, helping soothe degenerative joint illnesses, chronic and subacute joint inflammations.
But why are they here? Well because it's Sarah birthday today. As a gift, they took them here and have a birthday and pool party together.
"Axion, watch your siblings alright. Specially Enzo!" Said Erica, reminding Axion what his main job while they set up the table and the food they have brought from home to celebrating Sarah 4th year birthday.
"Yes, Ma!" Said Axion.
Erica Sunday, the mother of Axion, Sarah, and Enzo. She's like all mothers that have been introduced in the story, a kind, caring mother. Although she's strict and unpredictable.
She works as a teacher in a certain kindergarten school in the town.
"Okay were on the shallow water, you guys let go of me please." Said Axion feeling overwhelmed by his sibling's weight.
"T-Thank you, Onii-chan." Said Sarah letting go his arm.
"Okay~." Said Enzo also letting go of his other arm.
"Hey Sarah, here!"
"Kya!"
Once the two let go, Enzo proceeds to splash water to Sarah by using his hand.
"S-Stop it Enzo!" Said Sarah telling Enzo to stop.
"Heehehe, Ora, ora!" Said Enzo thinking this is fun and continues to splash water at her.
"This kid…"
Axion went to karate chop Enzo.
"Aww! Onii-chan why?!" Said Enzo tearing up and looking straight to his big brother.
"You're about to make your sister cry. Look." Said Axion pointing at Sarah.
"*Sniff*..." Sarah is covering her face, but you can hear sniffing. Indicating she's about to cry.
Enzo was surprised by this.
"Enzo, it's her birthday today. Should you treat her nicely?" Said Axion giving his little brother a reason to stop being a brat at least for a day.
"..."
Enzo looked at his brother then Sarah who is still covering her face.
He starts scratching his head and looked at his big brother again.
"Come on now, you know what to do." Said Axion, letting him think.
"Mmm, augh! I'm sorry!" Said Enzo crossing his arm while facing the other way.
Sarah stops covering her face and wipes her tears.
"*Sniff*...I- I didn't hear you. Say it loudly." Said Sarah, pretending she didn't hear it.
Axion smiles a little.
"She knows, hehe, so this is her little revenge." Axion thought, knowing that her little revenge is letting Enzo apologize once again.
Enzo got more annoyed from this but he still apologizes.
"I said sorry! Are you deaf?!" Said Enzo looking back at her.
"Okay, I forgive you." Said Sarah, while smiling.
"Alright, now enough fooling around and just swim or play peacefully." Said Axion to the two.
"Yes, Onii-chan!" The two agree with him.
Axion leaves the pool as he went to sit on one of the beach chairs and watch the two if anything happens.
While he does so, he relaxes a bit and stares at the distance for a while.
"The sun is setting down, It will be nighttime once we start the party." Axion thought as he notices the sun outside is setting down.
"Still I wouldn't think I'll be a babysitter in my next life. Not complaining or anything, just surprised. " Axion thought as he smiles to the fact he is.
In his previous life, he was an orphan, doesn't have any siblings nor knows who his parent was. So this is a very new experience for him.
At first, he doesn't know what to do, as the big brother of his two siblings but what he experienced and understand after spending his life with them for 4 years, is they're very important and he must protect them.
Also, teach his siblings to be kind and not be a brat like Enzo who was born to be one.
But he's getting there. Sooner or later, Enzo won't be a brat and change to a good person, that he always pictures on his head.
"I have concealed my true identity and act as a 6 years-old child would. I don't know if I have been successful from all these years but since my father and mother never questioned me about it. I guess I'm fine." Axion thought as he suddenly looks serious.
Actually, that is not very true, his acting like himself this entire time. Of course, he tried some of the time but it never works.
The real reason why his parents never question him being mature like the rest of the reincarnation Individuals because he already acts like a child.
He has a childish personality trait. He does act a little mature, but it's not enough to convince his parents to get suspicious.
Unless he does something that a child won't do. Which he hasn't yet and his smart enough to think not to do such thing ever.
"Anyway, I have learned more about this town, from Lance. I'm so glad that he provide me information about this new world we have reincarnated in whenever we meet in the park." Axion thought being satisfied that his best friend is helping him.
Due to their lack of freedom, Axion and Lance can only meet if their parents decided to go to the park at the same time. So they rarely meet each other.
Well, once their 8 years old they'll have their freedom to roam around the town without their parents.
In their old world, that's a bad thing to do because of kidnappers or anything bad can happened to them.
But in this world, It's very peaceful. The crime rate in this world is very low, and if something like that does happen, they'll immediately be executed once caught.
Which mean big crime equals the death penalty. Unless the crime is small then it would lead them to 30 years in jail time.
Yes even it's small, you'll spend 30 years in jail.
So people in this world already understand that doing a crime is the stupidest thing to do.
"Onii-chan! We're about to start the party!" Said Enzo yelling to her brother in the pool.
"Oh alright." Said Axion, standing up from his chair.
"If we are, then he's here." Axion thought as he looks around.
"Sorry, I'm late, I was putting away my motorboat." Said a man who just came in to see his family.
"Pa!"
"Papa!"
Axion siblings right away exit the pool and went to hug their father as he does the same to his children.
"Yeah, he's here." Axion thought as he proceeds to go to his father.
Axion father's name is Enott Sunday. He's a cruiser. He lets people ride his motorboat in charge of money and cruise around the town on the river. He's a very hard working man and has a second job as a salesman by selling the vegetables and fruits that he grows in his very own garden.
He's not very strict as his wife is, but shows lots of care towards his children.
"Pa, how's work?." Said Axion as he greets his father.
"It was great son, got plenty of customers today." Said Enott answering his son with a happy smile.
"Goodness look at you. I told you to take your time." Said Erica as she pinches her husband cheek and notices that her husband is covered in sweats.
"I can't, It's my daughter birthday today." Said Enott trying to answer her while being pinched in the cheeks.
She sighs as she stops and smiles.
"You're seriously going in that pool right now and relax." Said, Erica being strict to her husband.
"Eh? But the party-"
"Now, now. Family bonding first. Right?" Said Erica, interrupting him and looking at her children.
Her three children smile and show that they agree.
Seeing that his family wanted him to relax first before starting the party, made him give up and agree to his wife.
"Okay, okay. We'll go." Said Enott.
"Well, let's go!" Erica grabs her husband's arm and drags him to the pool as the three follows them.
And they happily celebrate Sarah's birthday
During mid-night, Axion wasn't asleep yet.
He went to the balcony and saw his father there staring at the distance and admiring the night sky.
When he went beside him. He notices Axion.
"Can't sleep yet?" Said Enott, asking his son.
He nods.
"Haha, me too." Said Enott admitting that he also isn't sleepy.
There was silence for a moment, and Enott asks his son another question.
"Son, do you have a friend?" Said Enott.
"Yes, Pa…" Said Axion answering him.
"Is that so...then, have you ever been betrayed by a friend?" Said Enott as he looked at him very seriously.
Axion just blindly gave him a stare and didn't answer him as the breeze hits them gently.
"Hahaha, what am I saying. You recently made a friend a couple of days ago." Said Enott realizing that his son doesn't know what he's talking about.
"Forget it, son. You can go back and sleep in your room." Said Enott, telling his son to forget what he said earlier.
Then out of nowhere.
"Yes, I do."
"Haha...what?"
Enott was surprised to hear his son say that.
"Wanna hear a story Pa? A story about a wolf surviving a cruel, cruel world." Said Axion to his father calmly.
"?!"
"My son turned into a completely different person." Thought Enott as he notices his son acting so out of character.
"Even so, I'm interested in hearing that story...maybe...with this, I might reconsider committing...suicide." Thought Enott delaying his original plan to hear his son story.
"Sure, I wanna hear it." Said Enott.
Axion smiles as he looks toward the distance and starts.
"Once upon a time, there was church…"
He begins to tell his previous life in a story format to his father.
But why?
Well isn't it obvious?
He got betrayed before he died.
