S/N: Woohoo! More reviews! Sorry for the scare, if it did scare you. I'm not sure what else, if anything, to say. If you haven't figured out yet, I'm not really good at this that's why I don't write them that often. Without anything else to say on with the chapter.

Chapter 11

My eyes slowly slid open, taking in the roof of the tent. We were still a few days away from the Plegia border. I smiled slightly, as I got up. I was still in my own tent. I hoped I would have my own for a while now, but at any point if they Pegasus knights decided to come after us, I would have to go back to sharing a tent with Vaike and Virion again.

I got up, quickly getting dressed. I attached my sword to my side. I know they have an armory for us, but I wanted to keep my sword for myself. It was to be mine, and mine alone. I did my best to take care of it. I cleaned it regularly, always made sure to wash the blood off of it after a fight.

I looked to one of the walls of my tent, seeing one of the things I knew I would dread. There was a portrait of Chrom on the wall. I quickly ripped it off of my wall. "Why the hell Frederick!" I yelled as I exited my tent.

I quickly found a fire pit, and threw the portrait of Chrom into it. I quickly turned away, and left, that thing wasn't staying in my presence anymore then it needed to be. I wandered around the tent for a bit. I saw plenty of people together.

First group I noticed was Miriel and Vaike. Next two I saw were Lissa and Frederick. Stahl and Sully after that, then Chrom and Sumia, who were ripping apart the portraits of him. (Though I'm almost positive that Sumia pocketed one of them.)

I continued to wander around, unsure of what it was I should be doing. I ended up finding my way to the front of the Exalts tent. She's so kind, maybe I should give her a warning. I thought in my head. I then gently knocked on her tents flap.

"Come in," Emmeryn said. I went into the tent. I found her sitting in what appeared to be a very comfy looking chair. "Ah, James, is there something you need?" She asked me.

"I...I wanna tell you something about the future," I said to her, hesitant at first.

"I don't think that would be wise," She said back to me. "You could alter the future, and even you wouldn't know what would happen."

I was silent for a bit, before looking her into the eyes. "It's something I feel you really should know," I said with determination. "If you're death was coming soon, and you could either be saved, but at the cost of a long war, or die, but the war would be shorter, which would you chose?" I asked her.

She was silent for a minute, probably thinking. Then she gently spoke, with a slight smile, "If it would save the lives of my people, I would gladly give mine."

I nodded to her. "I figured. I decided I'd leave the choice to you though," I said as I bowed to her. "Milady." She smiled gently at me. "With you're leave," I said to her.

"You don't need to ask permission to leave, James," Emmeryn said to me. I nodded to her, as I turned around, and left her tent.

Again, I was wondering around, slightly lost (never claimed to be good with directions) until I found my way to the dinning tent. I walked in, and ended up grabbing, what appeared to be a plate of meat. I quickly found a seat, I started eat. Almost right as I did, Chrom sat down in front of me, a slight glare on his face.

"Why didn't you tell me it was going to be nude?" He questioned clearly angry.

"Hey, I didn't know he was going to stick it in everyone's tents. I mean I had to wake up to that one my wall," I said back to him. His eyes narrowed.

"What did you do with it?" Chrom inquired.

"I threw it into a fire pit," I stated back. A look of relief passed across his face.

"Thank Naga," He said, as she rested his head on the table. "I just hope I got them all." I continued eating the meat, that tasted like the bear did I believe. As I finished it, I placed the dirty dishes into the pile that had been forming near the kitchen.

I walked out of the tent, unknown what to do. To tell you the truth, I was rather bored. I'd never gone this long without playing a video games in my whole life. It seemed rather strange. I sighed, as I sat against a tree.

They didn't even trust me enough, or at least think I couldn't do it right, to help them pack. Or at least that's why I think they don't. Wouldn't surprise me since I did hide something kind of major from them. Plus there was the whole cooking thing. Robin probably wouldn't want to risk something like that again.

"What to do?" I questioned myself. I was getting nowhere fast. I sighed, and got back up, before patrolling the outside of our encampment. They didn't tell me to, but I knew I would be of at least some use doing that.

I walked around the outskirts of our small came for little over ten minutes, before I heard something. I looked to the forest around the camp. We had set it up in a small clearing, since night was soon falling and we didn't want to be moving around with who knows what out there.

I stopped, keeping my eye on the spot. I drew my sword, and got into a stance, waiting to see what it was. I sighed, as the waiting game played out, I was growing rather impatient, something that I was quiet accustomed to. I've always been that way.

I sighed, still unsure if I should check it out, at least, if I should check it out by myself. As if on cue, Robin spotted me, and walked over.

"What are you doing?" He questioned.

"I heard something from the forest, and I've been debating rather to check it out or not," I told him. He pulled out a tome. I wasn't sure what kind it was, but I knew why he had done it. I slowly stepped forward, through one of the bushes.

What we saw, sent us rushing back to the camp.

"Risen! A lot of them!" Robin yelled out, as he turned around, and sent a blast of wind magic back at them.

I turned around, readying my sword. I saw, what appeared to be at least twenty of them. Though more could be seen exiting from the forest. One of them, which had heavily decayed flesh, so decayed, that it was barely able to hold the sword in its hand, came rushing at me.

I dodged it with ease, before chopping off its sword arm. It just continued to rush forward, as I stabbed my sword into it's chest. I quickly moved backwards, taking my sword with me. The Risen dropped to the ground dead.

Four more came rushing at me. We were heavily out numbered, it was easy to tell. I ducked under an axe, before stabbing another in the chest. I quickly moved to the side, moving the body of the Risen as well. I blocked a spear with it, then pulled my sword out.

I sighed, as I stepped back. They just kept coming and coming. "Fall back!" Robin yelled to me. I turned, seeing him being overrun, just as I was. I took a step back, before slashing with my sword, catching one across the chest.

It dropped down, as I continued my retreat. Robin, was retreating into a different part of the camp. I dashed forward, stabbing into another's chest. I did a spin, and pulled my sword out at the same time. I blocked an axe, that had been coming at me, and I stepped back fast.

Unlike humans, they were much slower it seemed. An arrow, flew from the undead horde, and smashed into my shoulder. I let out a scream of pain, as I stepped back. My instinct told me to raise my right arm to the wound, but I knew I needed my sword.

I continued stepping back, fearing for my life. The Risen seemed to be able to sense my fear, as they started coming at me in greater numbers then before. I barely dodged a spear, and stabbed my sword into its chest.

"Stay away!" I yelled. I was backing away. I tripped backwards, and fell to the ground.

"Come on! Don't be start'n the fights without good ol' Teach!" Yelled Vaike, as he moved in front of me, chopping through the spear of a Risen with a single slash.

"We are a team, aren't we? So please don't run ahead and try to hog all the glory for yourself," Virion said, as an arrow flew by, hitting a Risen that had it's axe raised, ready to strike at Vaike. I smiled, as Virion rushed to my side. He grabbed the arrow and pulled it out. I let out a slight yelp of pain, but that was it.

"It would be better for you to try and not be a hero, and just try surviving," He said to me, as he held some kind of container down at me. I grabbed it, and peered inside. It was some kind of liquid. I knew he wouldn't try to poison me, so I opened it and took a drink of it.

I felt my shoulder start healing slowly, until the wound no longer existed. "Thanks," I said to him, as I got off of the ground.

"No problem," He said, as he let loose another arrow, which swiftly embedded itself into another Risen's head. It fell to the ground, before vanishing into a puff of smoke. I raised my sword, before rushing to Vaike's side. He had his axe raised, as he cleaved through another Risen. He had no clue of the one that was coming up on his right side, sword ready to strike. I ran as fast as I could, and barely blocked the attack.

"You're open," I said to Vaike, as I pushed the Risen's sword up. Virion let loose another arrow, that hit the Risen in its sword arm. It didn't let go of the sword, or even acknowledge any pain. Vaike smashed his axe into the undead's chest.

"James, watch out!" I heard a voice yell. Suddenly a big gray shield was in front of me, and I heard something hit against it.

I turned to my right, seeing Raimi there. "You left yourself open as well," She said to me.

"Thanks," I said to her. She nodded. She smashed through a Risen's chest with her spear. It's body went limp, and faded from existence. A look of relief passed across my face. But it was to early for that.

"Ugh." My eyes widened, as I looked at Raimi. An spear was very clearly stabbing through her chest. Anger flared up in me, as I moved. Behind her, the Risen still held the spear, and tried to pull it out. I slashed it across the chest...multiple times. I couldn't control myself, as its body became mutilated.

It fell to the ground, in pieces before fading. No longer being held up by the Risen, Raimi fell backwards. The spear broke, as she landed on her back. I rushed to her side, dropping down.

"Raimi!" I yelled out. Her eyes were only opened slightly. I grabbed the container Virion had given me mere minutes before, and was about to pour it into her mouth, before her hand reached up and grabbed it. She stopped me.

"It...won't hel...p. The...wou...nd...is...to seri...ous...I'm...not...going...to...make...it..." She said slowly. She coughed loudly. I saw blood come out, landing on her armor.

"I'm sorry...sorry I couldn't protect you," I said to her, tears filling my eyes.

"Do...n't...be sorry...it...isn't...your...fault...I...chose...to...save you...future Khan," She said weakly. My eyes opened wide.

"How did you know?" I asked her, surprised.

"...I...over...heard...the...conversat...ion...with...Lon...'qu..."

Her eyes slowly closed, as her body went limp. I got off of the ground, anger clearly shown on my face. I turned to the remaining Risen, which were still plentiful.

"Why don't all of you just die?" I questioned coldly, as I moved forward. In an instant, I chopped one of them in half. I turned, chopping another ones arm off. I span around, spilling the guts of three at once.

I was a warrior, stained in blood.

"Charge the opening James made!" I heard a voice yell. I didn't know who it was, nor did I care. I felt something slice across my left arm. I turned and stabbed the Risen through the chest. I ducked down, as a sword slashed above me, I quickly moved forward, and stabbed my sword through it's chest. I turned, as I swiftly pulled my sword out of it.

I looked around, seeing barely anything left standing, besides us. I felt something smash into my head.

"That's no way for you to behave," Said Lon'qu. I rubbed my head, while glaring at him. "She gave her life to protect you. Not get yourself killed."

"I needed revenge for, Raimi," I said plainly, keeping my eyes leveled on him. "Besides, it was my fault she died."

he narrowed his eyes at me. "What do you mean?" He questioned slowly.

"She learned what Flavia said to me. About becoming-" I started, before he hit me in the face.

"She gave her life for you. Don't go wasting yours," He said, in a hateful tone. He looked away, before walking away. She gave her life for mine... I thought bitterly in my head. I need to do something to honor her, at least in a small way.

I ignored anyone who was looking at me, as I walked away from the battlefield. I wasn't even sure who had showed up and fought. For I know everyone did, for all I know only Vaike, Robin, Virion, Lon'qu, and Raimi did.

"James, wait," A voice behind me said. It sounded familiar, but in my current state I was unable to tell who it was. I turned around, seeing Chrom running to me.

"What?" I questioned coldly. He didn't acknowledge that I spoke coldly to him.

"Don't blame yourself," He said.

"Why the hell not?" I questioned him. "She fucking died because of me. If I had been stronger-"

"It was her choice, James. Rather you like it or not. She chose your life over hers. Honor what she did," He said back. He held something out to me.

I grabbed it. It was something sharp, I'm not sure what it was exactly.

"What's this?" I questioned him.

"Your way to honor her. Name your weapon after her," Chrom said. I thought about it for a second, before giving him a faint smile.

"Thank you," I said quietly. He nodded to me before leaving. I'll do that later. First I should probably clean my sword, and myself fully off. I thought.

Turns out, I was almost completely soaked in it, though that wouldn't be the last time.
