A/N: Hello? *Jumps back from snowball* Look I'm sorry! I know it's been about two months, but I'm back now! An I think karma got me cause I have been sick for the last week. So I decided to finish this chapter. I had it almost done then I lost inspiration. Then family stuff came up and some personal stuff. But ya'll don't want to hear my excuses! So, here is the long awaited chapter 11!
This is the chapter where hopefully everything is answered!
Disclaimer: I do not own Rise of the Guardians! I only own Thalia and East (who you meet in this chapter)! Oh and the plot! I do own that too!
Chapter 11
Thalia's POV
I open my eyes; and take inventory of myself. Two things come to mind right after. First I noticed that I'm alive. Second, I question why I'm still alive. I stand up and look around.
"What is going on? I should be dead; Pitch stabbed me…" I say out loud; not expecting a reply.
"Well, it's about time you woke up. I was beginning to think I was too late!" I hear.
I look around, and really take in my surroundings. I'm back in Manny's clearing. I look up at the sky and see him shinning brightly; as if he's smiling down at me.
"Manny, what's going on? I thought Pitch killed me," I ask again; confused.
"Oh, he did," I start to talk again, "It's alright, Thalia. You aren't dead because of your spirit blood." Manny says, making me even more confused.
"What do you mean my 'spirit blood'?" I ask. "Manny, I demand to have answers! Jack thinks I'm dead; and I'm sure the other Guardians think so too!"
"The Guardians don't know what happened." Manny says. "You might want to get comfortable. This might take a while to explain."
I walk to the center of the clearing, where a large rock was. As I walk toward it, I notice the snow melting out of my way, and flowers popping up in my footprints. I look up at Manny questioningly, and sit on the rock unsure.
"Manny, please, what's going on? Why did the snow melt like that? And why are there flowers where ever I step?" I ask, as calmly as I can.
"My dear, Thalia. You have finally become what you were always meant to be. The Spirit of Spring." He says, and I take a breath to ask what he's talking about, but get cut off. "Just listen for a few minutes, and hopefully I can explain."
I nod; then close my mouth firmly, and Manny continues.
"When a human and spirit fall in love and have a child; normally that child will live for a few months, but will die of magic over load. But you, dear Thalia, are special; you are the only offspring to survive. You see, my dear, normally if someone dies, and they where a good person and they died for a noble cause, then I would bring them back as a spirit of some kind. This doesn't happen very often; that's why there aren't many new spirits. Actually, I think Jack is the newest Spirit; that is until now."
He pauses to let what he's said so far to sink in. I look down at my hands and think for a moment. So, mom wasn't kidding, I really am a half-blood; well in a way. But who are my parents? I look back up to Manny and try to ask about them, but I'm cut off again.
"I know what you're going to ask next, who are your parents? Your mother, who was human, died when you were born. Your father on the other hand, has been watching over you since you were born."
"But who is he?" I ask, as I think about what he said. My mother is dead, and I never even got to met her. My father on the other hand is alive, and will be for forever… But who is he?
"My dear Thalia, I am your father." He says. I look up at him; with my mouth hanging open in shock. "You are my only child; I have only come down to Earth once, and that was when I met your mother. She looked a lot like you, Thalia. She was brave like you too; she loved children. I guess that's what caught my attention, and what made me come down."
"You're my father?" I ask, still trying to get over the initial shock and surprise.
"Yes, my dear. I have been watching over you; and waiting for this day, your entire life. Now that you have died, you can become the spirit that you were meant to be." He tells me. "I've decided you into the Spirit of Spring, because you bring warmth and light to the coldest and darkest places; including people."
"Alright… I think I understand everything that you've said. So, what are my powers?" I ask; a little excited now.
"Thalia, you have some control over the temperature. You also help plants to grow; which is why the flowers appeared in your footprints. You get to wake animals from hibernation, and you get to help the baby animals when they are born. You also have the power to make it rain and to create storms. And last but not least, you have the East wind to control." He tells me.
I think about that for a minute, and realize that Manny really was watching over me. Spring was my favourite season; I love the flowers, the rain, and the baby animals. I also get to fly, like Jack.
"Thank you, Dad…" I say unsure.
"If it makes you more comfortable, you can continue to call me Manny," he says, while his moon beams get a bit brighter.
"Alright… Manny. So, are you going to continue watching over me, or am I on my own; like Jack was?"
No, my child. I've made that mistake before; I will continue to watch over you, I do not wish to have a repeat of last time. If you ever need me just call and I will bring you here," he answers me.
I nod, and look around the clearing; then I think of my adoptive parents.
"What about my adoptive parents? They're going to wonder where I am." I ask a little worried.
"They will see you; because they believe in you. But, you will have to tell them what has happened. That way they know why you will not age and you'll be gone a lot."
"I understand. I never really liked school that much anyways. Haha!" I laugh.
"It's time for you to go back now, my daughter," Manny says sadly.
"Thank you, Manny. For everything," I say, and close my eyes as his light gets too bright.
I open my eyes once again, to find that I am lying on the ground beside Jack's lake. I look myself over to find all my wounds are all healed, but I'm still in my ruined jeans and tank top. I stand up and watch as a few flowers pop up and I giggle.
I take a look at the water and see myself reflected; well it was me but it wasn't me. My eyes seem to glow green from within, and my hair is now a beautiful auburn. I jump back a little surprised, and see a few other things have changed, but not too much that I don't look like myself.
Suddenly, I feel a warm wind swirl around me; making me laugh, as if tickling me.
"You must be East!" I exclaim to the wind.
It blows in my face, as if to say, "Well, duh!" I laugh again.
"Well, it's very nice to meet you, East. I'm Thalia. Do you think you could take me to the Pole?"
In reply, I feel my feet leave the ground, and feel myself rise up into the air. I laugh with delight, and I hold my arms out for balance. Then I'm speeding north, towards the Pole.
Now I know why Jack loves flying so much, I think to myself.
East leaves me at the door, and I knock. A few minutes later, a yeti comes and opens the door.
"Hey!" I say smiling, and giving him a wave.
He garbles something and I give him confused look. "I'm here to see the Guardians. Do you think I could come inside?" I say.
The yeti steps out of my way, and I step in thanking him, still smiling brightly. The yeti motions for me to follow him. He takes me to North's office; he knocks on the door and I hear a reply. The yeti sticks his head inside and garbles something to North.
"What do you mean, 'some strange girl is here'? Where is she now?" I hear North reply.
"I'm right here, North! Your yeti is acting really weird around me," I yell back at him.
The door is yanked open, and I see North looking down at me. I smile brightly; then run up to him and give him a hug.
"Wait, who are you?" He asks me.
"North, it's me Thalia," I laugh at him. I take a couple steps away from him.
"Thalia? But you look different! What happened to your clothes? Where is Jack?" He asks me, looking over my shoulder as if Jack was hiding behind me.
"Pitch tortured me… then he killed me, while Jack watched. But Manny made me into the Spirit of Spring! As far as I know, Jack is still with Pitch. How long have we been gone?"
"Almost three days…" North replies sadly.
"What?! Why haven't you guys gone to save him yet?!" I yell.
"Jack told us not to until we knew you were safe," he replies.
I start to feel tears fall down my cheeks. I start sobbing, and look up at North; to find him shivering.
"What's wrong?" I ask, as I see North's breath in the air.
"How are you doing this? Cold is Winter's thing," he answers.
"What am I doing?" I ask, confused.
"You're making the room colder. Thalia, you need to calm down; you need to breath."
I start taking deep calming breathes. Eventually, the temperature goes back to normal, and North stops shivering.
"Better?"
"Yeah… But what are we going to do now?" I ask.
"I will call the others here; they will want to know what has happened. While I do that, you can go sown the hall to the female yetis and they will make you new clothes," North says. "We will be waiting in the Globe room."
I nod, and go to the room North had pointed to. I walk inside, and the female yetis start taking measurements and start making something for me to wear.
After about half an hour, they pull me over to a changing room in the corner of the room. I go inside to find a strapless magenta colored dress, with white flats and a white belt for the dress. The dress just brushes the tops of my knees, and it has a sweetheart neck line; it hugs me perfectly at the top, and it kind of reminds me of a lily, the way it flares out after the belt. I finish changing and come out doing a little twirl for the yetis; they all clap and gibber jabber about something and point to my hair. They pull me over to a table and chair, and start doing my hair. They put curls in is and pin a few on top of my head.
When they finish pruning and fawning over me; they she me to a full length mirror, and I get a good look at myself. I gasp and stare at my reflection; I don't even recognize myself. I really look how a Spring Spirit should now. I just stand there for a few minutes and stare; that is until I remember why I'm here.
I turn to the yetis, "Thank you, for everything!" I say as I run out the door waving. I race to the Globe room; to find the other Guardians there. I walk in a little then stop, waiting for them to notice me.
"North, why are we here? What's going on?" Bunny asks; then his nose and ears twitch, as if sensing something. He starts looking around, than he sees me. I shrug a shoulder and smile brightly at him.
Sandy notices Bunny's actions and follows his line of site and sees me. He waves, but obviously doesn't recognize me, same with Bunny.
"Has Jack come back, North?" Tooth asks; not noticing the others actions, as I am behind her.
"No, Tooth, Jack hasn't come back yet," North says, than he sees me and motions me over.
"Hey guys!" I say.
"Umm… Hello?" Tooth says, than asks, "Umm… Who are you?"
"Tooth, it's me, Thalia. I didn't think I looked that different. I'm a spirit now. Well, I guess I'm not just any spirit, but the Spirit of Spring." I shrug and smile. They all look a little surprised to hear this; everyone but North that is.
"But, how it that possible? You're human, how can you be a spirit now? Unless…" Bunny says; starting to put some of the pieces together, while his eyes keep getting bigger.
I nod sadly, than start telling them what happened to me, from the time I was taken up until now. I decided to leave out the whole, 'I'm Manny's daughter' bit, scared that they might start acting weird.
"Wow," everyone says, they all look sad that I had to go through all that.
"Enough about me though. We have to find a way to save Jack," I say, and we all start planning, together this time.
A/N: Now, wasn't that a fun chapter? Hahaha!
Alright! I have some thing I want to say!
There are only two chapters left of this story.
Now I have a few questions for you guys! Answer them either in a review or PM! And I really want answers please! One of the questions determines whose POV the last two chapters are from.
#1: What is your favourite part in the story so far?
#2: Whose POV should the next chapter be from; Jack's, Thalia's or Pitch's?
#3: Do you guys want a sequel?
Now, you don't have to answer all of them, but it would be really nice to hear answers for all of them!
Answers to Reviews:
Fabulous48: I'm really sorry about the long wait… But you now know what happened to Thalia… Hope you enjoyed this chapter!
So that's the only review that I got, and I can't wait to hear what everyone has to say to my questions. So two more chapters left…
So, yeah… Peace!
