Here is the 2nd chapter of Season 2 of: There's no such thing as a person with a low presence.
The streets of New York is bustling with life just like any other ordinary day. Yellow cabs zooming across the road. People coming from different directions walking as fast as they can. Everyone seems to have a destination in mind and errands to run to.
"Thank you again for inviting me Kise-kun."
"You don't need to be so formal with me Tetsu-chi! Besides my schedule is almost occupied with photo shoots that's why I don't have time to explore like this."
"That is why I'm worried that you are using your precious off day like this."
"EH! It's not like that! Instead, roaming like this with you gives me a sense of a familiarity."
The noisy streets packed with people is somewhat the same around Tokyo especially during night time. Group of boisterous students who just got out from school, salary men with their suitcases hurrying home.. The atmosphere is indeed the same, except that this time the two of them cannot really make sense of the conversations happening around them.
"Even though the mood is the same just like in Tokyo, I don't know if I'll ever get used to life here." She said while looking at the pavement while they wait for the traffic light to turn green
"At times like that you just need to look at the bright side and think of countless possibilities that you can have here!" Kise said cheerfully posing with a peace sign after his statement
"Kise-kun can I know what your bright side is?" she asked with a deadpan expression
"I should have told this sooner but really it is better late than never right?!" he ended those words with a forced laugh that even made the situation more awkward
"Actually..the reason why I decided to move here is because I can no longer play basketball.. I had this injury and they said that I can no longer play competitive basketball so I just decided to take the modelling contract that was offered. I thought that I should start a new life here and pursue a new opportunity." The usual playful Kise is now serious and solemn, saying those words hurriedly and ending it with a sigh
"You can undergo treatment here, there are a lot of physical therapy clinics here in the States." Tetsumi said with a hopeful tone placing her hand on to Kise's shoulder
"I have already decided to face this with optimism. Besides, I still think that I'm lucky guy after all. See I even got a new light right here." Kise playfully winked at Tetsumi
"A light or a shadow, whatever you might need, you can always count on me." She said with solemn affirmation although monotonously; she knows the weight of those words.
The Kise is front of her now resembles so much of herself, the situation that they are in and the problems that they want to run away from…
"Well for today can you be both?" he smiled and we joined a sea of people crossing the road
The two went inside a building, and took the lift to the highest floor.
There they saw a sight of the shining landscape, filling every part of the city. Blinking and blinking, showing off their light. At that time, they felt all of their problems…gone. As if the thoughts that they running away from, cannot reach them. On top of the world, where they can see an endless sea of lights. Kise and Tetsumi stayed here admiring the sight that was before them, none of them saying a word.
After a few moments of bliss, Kise said wistfully "I found this place during a break from a photo shoot."
"It is so beautiful.." Tetsumi answered with a smile while turning to face him
"Yes… you are so beautiful.." he muttered in his mind while looking blissfully at her, smiling..
"You know Kise-kun.. its better late than never right? So I also have a secret to tell you since you shared yours. I'm actually suffering from this illness that is why I moved here to get medication." Tetsumi said calmly while looking far away
Kise was swept with fear and immediately his body went numb, cold. He did not know what to do, as he is well-aware that her illness should be a serious one that she was even forced to leave her life in Japan to be here.
Tetsumi noticed this and gently intertwined her hand to his. She muttered "Don't worry. I believe we can get through this and just look at the bright side right?" she smiled while facing him
She held up their entwined hands and said: "Pinky promise?" he answered back "Promise." while each of their little finger became entwined.
At that moment, it was as if that the two of them are in their own world.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I know it is a bit short but a lot of things happened anyways? hehe I hope that I can update soon though.
