A Tale of Two Cousins

Goku woke up being shaken. When he opened his eyes he saw a very persistent Hakkai standing over him.

"Is it breakfast time already?" Goku rubbed his eyelids.

"Not quite yet, we have certain matters to discuss." Hakkai replied.

Hakkai walked him over quietly to an area a bit ways from the tent where Sanzo and Gojyo sat. Sanzo impatiently smoked, as Hakkai and Goku made their way to them.

Within ten minutes Gojyo explained what happened the night before. They questioned whether the bad guy was trying to make contact, or if Jordan was just crazy… after all she did challenge a gun, with no way of knowing how to use her powers, but Hakkai suspected she was sane just stubborn. With that, the group dispersed, and Hakkai began cooking the first meal of the day.

Jordan awoke to a sizzling sound. The air was drenched with the smell of breakfast.

"Mmmmmmm…Smells good." She sighed as she rubbed her eyes, "Is that bacon I smell?"

"Bacon? Well what I'm cooking is sliced pig from the market. I picked it up yesterday." Hakkai replied with a small laugh.

"Oh, well whatever it is, it smells delicious." Jordan replied as she sat herself up. At that moment she remembered everything from last night. Sanzo and his gun, heh heh and Sanzo with his bullets.

She angrily looked around for the old man, she still felt the urge to give him a piece of her mind. Although when she finally spotted him, she was distracted by a hand smacking her boob.

"Oooh…you are so dead." She said as she glared down, towards the area the hand had appeared. There her cousin lay, all sprawled out, messy and with drool. Kadence sleepily turned again barely muttering words comprehensible, "Goku…dsiualoiawnf…Hakkai…ahsifuncklaca."

Ew…. Was all that shot into Jordan's head. She could have cared less, to know about her dreams at the moment.

"Wake up perv." She sighed as she shook her cousin awake.

"Mmmmm.. Five more minutes. I'm getting to the good part mom." Kadence said as she rolled herself away from Jordan's grip.

"Ew…. and I bet my aunt would so let her sleep in, so that she could finish her dream. Pervs." Jordan rolled her eyes. "Kade get up." Jordan tried again shaking her awake.

"Mom, leave me alone." Kadence said as she turned over again, leaving Jordan's grasp.

"Mom? You're her mom Jordan?" Goku asked as he entered the tent.

A blood vessel extruded from Jordan's head. She took in a couple yoga breaths and again went to wake her cousin. Oddly enough this time, she had great success. Kadence quickly awakened gasping for air; trying desperately to get her cousin's hands wedged off her neck.

"Now you awake!?" Jordan yelled as she yanked her cousin around forcefully.

"I'm awake! I'm –wake! L-t G-!" Kadence gasped.

Jordan grinned then stood up, "Good."

Sanzo and Gojyo watched the scene from afar. Sanzo had to admit, he liked the way she woke up people. It gave him an idea on how to next time, wake Goku.

Kadence glared angrily at her cousin, from her sleeping bag. She flopped back down, and lay on her back. She didn't know why, but she felt today would be one of the more interesting days of their adventure.

The group quickly finished breakfast, and once they were done, Kadence and Jordan eagerly asked the males if there was some source of water nearby that they could bathe in. When they pointed south, the girls quickly grabbed their bags and headed in that direction. As soon as they disappeared into the city of trees, Hakkai quickly prompted an important question.

"Do you think we should have someone in the area, to stand guard? Just in case there is an attack on the girls."

"I'll do it!" Gojyo quickly volunteered himself as he stood up and stretched.

"Um…actually now that I think about it, it would probably be best if either Sanzo or I did it." Hakkai explained, stopping his red headed best friend.

"I didn't volunteer." Sanzo said with narrowed eyes.

"That may be, but I cook, clean, drive and do many other things. So there may be a time I'm cooking or setting up. I trust you to get the job done, and as for Goku…well he's easily distracted and he may take off. And Gojyo…well he may not stay, far enough away from their bathing area." Hakkai concluded with the slightest change in tone.

Sanzo stayed quiet, he knew that tone, the one that said, "Shut the fuck up and do it or face the wrath of Hakkai." Not only that Hakkai made a few good points.

"Tch.." was all that Sanzo could convey as he walked off to the bathing area.

'Good boy.' Hakkai thought to himself.

SPLASH

Jordan jumped into the creek, her cousin following behind her.

"Oh shit! It's cold!" Jordan shivered.

"Mhmm, we should probably hurry." Kadence teeth chattered, as she began folding her arms around herself, for warmth.

Jordan nodded, then quickly swam to the edge, to fetch their bathing supplies. She grabbed their soap, and passed it along to Kadence. Both the girls scrubbed themselves down and washed their hair with it.

When they came out, they realized something critical.

"Do we have any towels?" Jordan said as she tried her best to cover herself.

Kadence turned her head, "Nope."

"Shit!" They said in unison.

Kadence grabbed the clothes she had worn previously and pat dried herself while she balanced herself on a large rock, so as not to get her feet muddy. Jordan copied her with a little surprise; wow…first time my cousin has ever had a good idea. They changed into their new clothes, and put on their new shoes. Their shoes looked a lot like Goku's only Kadence's had a blue outline to match her shorts while Jordan wore a similar one, but with a black outline to match her tank. Hakkai had decided these would be the best shoes for them to use, in case they needed to run, jump, or do anything strenuous. Jordan and Kadence didn't mind so much because they were kinda cool looking anyways. The girls packed up their things then headed back to the camp. Jordan was thinking deeply about when it would be the best time to share with her cousin the encounter she had yesterday. After a few seconds passed she decided, to heck with it. If she told her any later her cousin would just continue giving her shit about it. As they walked back Jordan began with a serious tone, and filled her baby cousin up to date.

Sanzo walked out of the forest onto the campground, Hakkai had already cleaned up the fire, dishes and sleeping bags. The only thing left was the big tent they all shared comfortably. After a few moments Jordan and Kadence followed. Oblivious to the fact that they were tracing Sanzo's footsteps.

As Kadence and Jordan arrived to the campground the men got very silent. Gojyo nodded at Hakkai and brought out his shakujou, he then got into a fighting stance aimed at the girls.

Both girls put up their defenses quickly; them and even their priest confused. Sanzo brought out his gun, in an attempt to salvage the girls' lives.

"What the hell is going on!?" Both Sanzo and Jordan yelled at Gojyo and the others. The angry priest and grumpy girl looked at each other with revolt. How dare they have matching sentences.

Hakkai stepped forward with intentions towards an explanation, "We decided we need to train you girls. And starting as soon as possible, will give us a better chance of fighting this new evil."

"But where would we begin? So far JJ is the only ones whose powers are showing," Kadence questioned.

"That is true, but we were planning to train you guys with weapons and hand to hand combat. Which reminds me Jordan, maybe you should train with Sanzo or Gojyo. It seems your powers only come out when you're vexed, but whether your powers show or not this will at least give you a better defense, in case we are unable to protect you"

"NO FREAKIN WAY! Can't I train with you or Kade or even Goku!? Anyone but them!" Jordan whined with the ferocity of a spoiled teenager.

"Yeah, well don't worry princess! The feelings are mutual!" Gojyo enlightened her (as if she hadn't already known). He put his shakujou away. At the moment, he didn't trust himself with it.

"Perfect, you guys are already mad at each other. If you keep this up, by the end of the day, Jordan will at least know how to bring out her powers. So run along now and play nice." Hakkai smiled almost sadistically.

Both Gojyo and Jordan dropped their mouths at the site of Hakkai, he was becoming scary. He was obviously super serious and determined about the training.

"Kadence, since we don't know yet what triggers your powers, we will avoid trying to use them for now. It'll take too much time. Why don't we focus on training you with hand to hand combat first." Hakkai concluded as he pushed Goku and Kadence in a separate direction from the other three.

"Goku…go easy on her." Hakkai whispered a warning.

There was a nervous 'gulp' from Goku, while Hakkai quickly turned again, to the other three, "And as for you three, don't kill each other."

Hakkai continued to take Goku and Kadence north. They arrived at a nearby grass clearing, "Let's try and keep the areas separate for now. I don't want any of us getting distracted. I'll stay here to help the two of you."

Kadence nodded but her mind was on other things at the moment. Like… was it really okay to leave their other comrades alone?

Jordan stood there, taking a look at her situation. She inhaled deeply and tried her best to focus on the priority at hand.

"Well…Hakkai has a point and I'm willing to work with you. What do you want to begin with first?"

Gojyo stood there a little surprised that period girl was willing to cooperate. Even Sanzo was caught off guard.

"Oh, Wait! Theres one thing I have to do first. Do you know where I can find a knife?"

Both Gojyo and Sanzo raised their eyebrow in dismay; did she really hate them that much?

Jordan quickly read their faces, "Oh. Haha I need to cut my shirt, it's irritating. This is what I originally planned to do when we bought the outfit."

This time Gojyo moved his eyebrows in an intrigued way, "Sure let me get one for you." He said with a sly smile as he grabbed Hakkai's cooking bag and dug through it. When he found one, he handed it to her, only to watch her stretch out her shirt and stab a hole through the middle of it. When she sliced it enough horizontally, she took the knife out and began to rip the bottom half of the shirt off.

Sanzo stood and covered Gojyo's eyes with his right hand, "Wipe the drool." He commented to the red head.

When Jordan was finished her midriff showed, and her black tank hung nicely from her boobs. She put the knife away and stretched; when she raised her arms the shirt rose with her melons, giving everyone a teeny tiny peak of the black bra underneath.

"This is such a tease…" Gojyo grumbled to himself.

"Alright. Let's do this." She said as she got into a fighting stance.

"Do you know a martial art?" Sanzo said as he inspected her stance.

"Well, technically yes. I know Muay Thai and Savate Kick Boxing. I've trained for years."

"That would explain you challenging that demon your first day here and that cocky attitude of yours." Gojyo scoffed.

This made Jordan glare.

Meanwhile, Hakkai showed Kadence a few blocking methods. He did the motions with his arms and then instructed her to copy them. Kadence copied them eagerly.

It was becoming a lot more, than what Jordan, Gojyo and Sanzo were getting done at the moment.

"I wannah be the one to attack her!" Gojyo yelled at the monk.

"You couldn't attack her, with both hands and a map!" The blonde haired priest hollered back.

Jordan watched as the two bickered. She was becoming infuriated. They just wannah attack me. I'll kill them both.

Yeah yeah, so I got a little motivated after watching Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Lol, yes the quote "You couldn't -, with both hands and a map!" was from that movie. Obviously it's owned by the producers though, so don't sue! Kk, hope you enjoyed the chapter.
