Disclaimer: I don't own Bloodlines.

A/N: Hey guys, for once I updated earlier :) Aren't you proud of me. It's summer so I have more time to plan, and write, and unfortunately less time to upload (my parents won't let me sneak on the internet) but I'll try my best. Which is pretty much why I'm updating earlier than usual!

This chapter is dedicated to TheHappyLol because she gave me the perfect quote for this chapter, hurt herself while reading the last chapter, and is teaching me how to become evil. Now go check out her stories!

"Are you okay?" She asked again, worry coating her voice. Why was she acting worried, she had always shown her disgust of drunk people on the streets - and although I wasn't drunk, I was certainly acting like it. Does this mean that she... remembers me?

I looked up at her, but she mustn't have recognised me, because it was much too dark for her to actually see my face. I was surprised at her bravery, most people didn't comfort a crazy man on a dark corner of the street on their own. But then I realised that she wasn't. Trey was behind her, standing awkwardly.

I was still unaware of whether Sydney actually recognise me or not, but I had to give it ago. "Centrum Permanebit," I murmured hopefully. Her eyebrows tightened together in confusion.

"That sound familiar," she mused. "It's Latin, right? You don't look like the kind of guy that knows Latin... It means the 'centre will hold', right?" She stared dreamily into space, not noticing my fallen, disappointed face. "I remember reading a discussion about this somewhere, I think..." She looked confused as if she couldn't remember. "Things fall apart, the centre cannot hold... that's Yeats. Most people agreed with that view, but then someone made a brilliant comeback," she grinned. "As long as we're together, that's how we'll be. No trembling. No faltering. We're unstoppable... that's Love is Enough by William Morris. And then someone, someone who must have truly been in love said, 'the centre will hold because..." when she got to that part, I helped her finish the sentence.

"We are the centre." We looked in each other's eyes, and Sydney blushed.

"Wow, I guess you read it too," she mumbled, standing up. Trey, who had been very quiet, looked at me.

"I know you," he muttered. I looked up at him. "I can't quite place my finger on it, but I know you..." he trailed off. "Have we met?"

"Probably," I told him. "It's a small world." I stood up and brushed myself off. Still mesmerised by Sydney and our conversation, which had been mostly her talking to me. "So, are you two like... together?" I asked awkwardly. Trey and Sydney gave me an incredulous look and burst out laughing.

"No way," Trey chuckled. "Don't get me wrong, I love Sydney to bits but she's... definitely not my type."

"Agreed." Sydney confirmed, grinning.

"Oh, sorry," I muttered, acting embarrassed, when obviously I was delighted. "I guess I'll see you around." I turned around, and started to walk away. Wait, what the hell was I doing? I had just found Sydney, and now I was leaving her.

"Wait!" I cried, running back to them. They turned around, confused at my change of heart.

"So, I was wondering if you'd like to grab a coffee with you tomorrow?" I asked breathless.

"I'd love to," Trey mocked, putting a hand over his heart, like it was his lifelong dream come true.

"Sorry man, you're not my type," I grinned. "So what about it Sage?" She looked at me, probably shocked at my forthrightness.

"Uh, yeah, sure," she stammered. "Where?"

"Spencers at like... one?" I asked. She nodded.

"Sure, but how did you know my last name was Sage?" She demanded to know. I looked at her, she was still as beautiful as ever. Brown eyes with flecks of gold, long blonde hair, no lily on her cheek...

"I just guessed." I shrugged.

"Wait! I never got your name!" She cried.

"It's Adrian," I called back, as Trey laughed at us. "Adrian Ivashkov!"

Sydney Sage was my flame in the dark, she was my guiding light.

. . .

The next day, after spending a night at Eddie's as I felt uncomfortable with Sonya and Mikhail after all the secrets that I left slip, I got up bright and early so that Eddie could drive me back to Clarence's to pick up the Ivashkinator.

"Thanks Eddie, you're a life saver." I thanked him. "Like, literally."

I didn't bother going anywhere near the house, according to Sonya, Clarence was a state and Dorothy was still missing. I hopped into the car, and watched as Eddie drove away. He had offered to let me stay tonight as well, and I told him that it depended what came up.

No sooner did I pull out of the driveway, did Hopper make his appearance. "Hey Hopper," I nodded at him, like it was completely normal for a callistana to just appear in my car out of thin air. Well... it was pretty normal considering that he was my 'son'.

I drove up to Spencers half an hour early, and spent fifteen minutes with Hopper, lecturing him on what not to do when I was gone, and promising to bring back the pie that Spencers supplied.

I walked in, about ten minutes early and spotted Sydney over at a table, reading a book. I slid into the seat across from her. "Your early," I announced.

"You too," she replied closing her books. "Will I go get some coffee?"

"No, it's okay I got this. Let me guess... skinny vanilla latte?" I asked, knowing that the answer would be an astonished yes.

"Wow, you are really good at this guessing thing," she grinned.

Five minutes later, I came back with the coffees. And from there, things started to turn bad. At first we were simply talking about ourselves, but then... then Hopper had somehow spotted his mom. And things started to go downhill...

A/N: Sorry for the cliffie. Plus, I hope you all like the references t the poems in TFH.

Hehe, you can't just stop fangirling :) Adrian and Nina is the worst, that is why he hates her, and why I made her a whiny bitch. Don't worry, there is a point to all this OOCness. I'm not just doing it for the sake of OCCness. I seriously hope that Jeddie features in SS. Control yourself woman!
