Tokyo Ghoul DxD
"Project Quinx?" Amon frowned as he looked up from the documents in his hand.
Alongside Akira, he had been called into the Director's office to speak with Yoshitoki Wasshu, one of the most talented officers and highest ranking in the entire organization of CCG to discuss a certain project. There had been rumors flying around that CCG was planning on starting a new project of some sort, though what, Amon had no idea up until now.
Yoshitoki was a young man, well aged in his thirties, wearing a white suit, not unlike that of what Amon or anyone else wore, complete with a buttoned shirt underneath and a black tie. He had a thin goatee on his chin, along with a slight mustache on his upper lip, his black hair fair and swept to either side. Like a number of Investigators, he was also a member of the Wasshu family, a distinct clan of respected warriors, each powerful in their own right.
It was also common knowledge that it was the Wasshu family that established Commission of Counter Ghoul.
The man nodded, taking the documents back as Amon handed them to him. "Yes. As you are aware from the Ghoul, Haise Sasaki, along with a number of other Ghouls we have encountered in the past year, our former coroner, Akihiko Kanou, has begun creating artificial One-Eyed Ghouls by implanting a Kakuho into ordinary humans." Yoshitoki reminded them, leaning back in his chair. "And as you are also aware, it is a Kakuho that also what allows us to fight against the Ghouls with the use of Quinque."
"Yes, we are well aware of that." Akira nodded her head. "However, this project... Are you saying that we're to...?"
At this, Yoshitoki sighed tiredly, a hand rubbing his temple. "While I myself am against it, this comes directly from up top. We don't have much of a choice, and unfortunately, my hands are tied."
"Implanting Quinque's into our own people..." Amon scowled, fists clenching. "Forgive me for speaking out of turn, sir, but it sounds to me like we're making ourselves into Aogiri."
The man smiled, waving his hand. "And I couldn't agree more, Amon. However, as I said, this comes directly from the top brass." Then, his face hardened, his mouth becoming a thin line as he looked at the two Investigators. "And you two will be in charge of maintaining the Quinx Squad. We aren't fully aware of what may happen, thus we need precautions."
"Understood, sir." Akira agreed almost instantly. It was at times like these that Amon felt rather envious of the woman. She could follow orders, believing in the orders her job demanded rather than believing in a sense of right and wrong, like he used to believe. Now, however, he wanted to know if it was possible for Ghouls and Humans to co-exist.
It was rather funny how he came to think like that, considering the one who made him adopt this mindset was a Ghoul, or rather, a half-Ghoul.
"Well then..." Yoshitoki cleared his throat, and tossed four small files atop the desk, each showing a different picture, containing information for each subject. The first showed a young boy with shark-like teeth, grinning from ear to ear as he lifted up his middle finger, flipping off the cameraman. His hair was unkempt and blonde, and his eyes bearing slits. The second showed a more composed young man with short black hair, his face passive, but ambition bright in his eyes. The third had a girl with blue hair done in pigtails, a lazy look on her face as she sucked on a lollipop. The fourth and final had a girl with greenish blue hair and tan skin, looking rather nervous.
"These will be the members of the Quinx Squad." Yoshitoki informed them, tapping a hand to each picture. He tapped the file showing the blonde shark. "Shirazu. He's young and brash, but he's tenacious, and never gives up in a fight. An admirable trait. He was implanted with an Ukaku Quinque." The next was the composed boy. "Urie. He's very ambitious, aiming for Special Class Investigator. He hopes to surpass Arima-kun one day. He was implanted with a Koukaku Quinque." He tapped to the girl with pigtails. "Saiko. Don't let her aloof and lazy nature fool you, she's by far one of the most promising candidates. She scored as one of the six with the highest proficiency. She was implanted with a Rinkaku Quinque." The final one was the girl. "Mutsuki. She's a tad bit shy, but given the correct incentive and training, she will certainly be a force to be reckoned with. Strangely, she wishes to be treated as a male rather than a girl. She was implanted with a Bikaku Quinque."
"Quite the roster..." Akira noted, giving a brief glance-over at their files before stopping at Urie's file, her eyes widening. "Sir, this boy... Is he related too...?"
Yoshitoki gave a sad smile, nodding. "Yes... His father was among the list of casualties when the One-Eyed Owl first appeared."
The One-Eyed Owl... Amon hadn't missed the way they addressed them. Special Class Investigators Iwao and Shinohara had noticed two very important details about the differences between the Owl Extermination missions. The first had a long list of casualties, but luckily, Investigator Iwao had delivered a heavy blow, which supposedly took the Ghoul out of commission for a while. However, the second extermination had no casualties, and was defeated by Special Class Investigator Arima.
It wasn't until the Third Owl Extermination that they learned that there was not one, but two Owls. When they learned of this, the Owl from the second extermination was named The Non-Killing Owl, due to the fact that he refrained from killing anyone.
Amon's fists clenched tightly. Akira's mother had been killed by the One-Eyed Owl, and his former partner, her father, Kureo Mado, had been obsessed with gaining his revenge against him. The One-Eyed Owl had also left a number of scars and wounds upon CCG and the families of the Investigators that perished at his hands... Special Investigator Shinohara included. The man was live, but the damage done to him had left him in a coma.
Speaking of Shinohara, he should visit him soon, along with...
"Also, before I forget..." Yoshitoki's voice brought the Senior Investigator back to reality, noticing a wry smile on the man's face. "I would like to introduce you to the mentor of the Quinx Squad, also the Ghoul that was stationed in Kuoh City."
Akira raised an eyebrow, a curious smile finding its way to her face. "Oh? So we finally get to meet the Ghoul that CCG has been working with?"
"Correct. Arima-kun should be bringing him in right about-"
"HAHA! SUGOI! HEY, HANBEE! LOOK! I GOT FREE CANDY!"
"A-ACK! SUZUYA-OYABUN, NO! YOU CAN'T JUST FRISK SOMEONE LIKE THAT, ESPECIALLY NOT IN FRONT OF THE DIRECTOR'S OFFICE!"
Amon and Akira blinked owlishly as they turned to the door, Yoshitoki sighing. The door opened to reveal four figures, one revealed to be Investigator Arima, and the other, Rank 2 Investigator Hanbee. The third was someone that Amon didn't recognize at first, until he noticed a peculiar detail. The Investigator looked quite young, 19 or so, wearing a buttoned shirt over a large black coat that was obviously too big for him, and white slacks that were rolled up to his calves. Strangely, the boy was barefoot, and his black hair was messy. However, what made Amon recognize him was the red stitches along his neck and fingers.
"...Second Class Investigator Suzuya?" Amon stared in disbelief. "What are you doing here?"
"Eh?" Juzo Suzuya looked at Amon in confusion before recognizing the man, and a giant grin formed almost instantly. "Haha! Amon-chan, it's been a while! Ooh, Akira-chan is here too!"
"S-Suzuya-Oyabun..." Hanbee sighed, bowing apologetically to his superiors. "Please, forgive us for the intrusion. He got over-excited and decided to frisk the young man heading here and stole his candy."
"Eh, don't worry about it so much!" the fourth person said, dismissing it. Amon couldn't get a good look, since he was obscured by Suzuya and Arima, but he could make out what looked like a black school uniform with white trims, and a black attaché case with gold trims. "Besides, that was just something Kuro-chan and Shiro-chan gave me before I left Kuoh."
"Ah, speak of the devil." Yoshitoki smiled as he stood up. "Investigators Koutarou Amon and Akira Mado, allow me to introduce you to your new subordinate, and the mentor of the Quinx Squad."
Arima and Suzuya allowed the boy to step forward. Instantly, Amon felt his body freeze, and his eyes widen to the point where they seemed to almost bulge, as if about to pop out of their sockets. The young Investigator in question had slightly pale skin with white hair, bearing black streaks, and was dressed in the Kuoh Private Academy uniform, complete with a red tie and buttoned shirt, along with black slacks suspended by a belt with a silver buckle.
"Y-you're..." Amon breathed out, unable to believe his eyes while Akira frowned, looking at Amon and noticing his look of absolute shock before looking at the boy as he smiled, bowing his head before the two.
"Ohayo." the Ghoul known as Eyepatch stated cheerfully. "My name is Haise Sasaki. It's a pleasure to meet you, Akira-senpai. Amon-senpai."
Now, there were a lot of things Amon could have responded to that. In fact, some of those responses were questions. "Why are you here?" "Where have you been all this time?" "Why are you working with CCG?" "Have you become a murderer?" "Why did you become an Investigator?"
Instead, he was only able to utter only a single word: "...eh?"

Hey, I did warn you guys the last couple of chapters would be short, as in 3 to 4 pages short. Also, I decided to just screw it, and start this immediately, and finish this up in one go. So, in other words... Tokyo Ghoul DxD will be completed TODAY. Please leave your thoughts at the last chapter.
It's been one hell of a ride, you guys. I want to give special thanks to everyone that has followed me through the road of Devils, Fallens, Angels, and Ghouls, as we spin the tail of Haise Sasaki.
Before I go, I suppose I should explain my reasons for Tooru having a Bikaku, when her Quinque Kagune has not been revealed yet in the series. I'm just using speculation and theories and probability. Urie has a Koukaku, Ginshi an Ukaku, and Saiko a Rinkaku. If we go by that, and process of elimination, then Tooru would be given a Bikaku. Common sense, though as I said, this is merely speculation. We don't know if she has a Bikaku Quinque Kagune yet. For now, we can just read, watch, and speculate until it is finally revealed.
