Lucy's POV
"I'm going to miss you guys" I said as a large frown was framed on my face and my eyes glistened with unshed tears.
It's been 6 years. The gang and I had stayed an extra year when we heard about the guild learning about our disappearance, but I didn't cry. My tears for them had all dried up as I heard about everyone crying and the change. Don't get me wrong, I love them despite the pain they put me in years ago but I've changed. I am now the Queen of everyone and I am a mother in a way.
No no, I didn't get pregnant, I ended up adopting a young premature dragon boy after his mother had died after he was born. But no one could tell that he was adopted, he looked exactly like me.
He has blond hair that was a smige lighter than mine with eyes that were a beautiful mixture of caramel brown and azure blue. He had a slighter tanner complection than I and he had sharp canines like every dragon normally has when they are in this form. His scent was similar to a large meadow and oak.
He doesn't know that I'm not his birth mother, after all he's far too young.I can still remember the time when I had to help his biological mother deliver him. May Mavis bless her soul.
~Flash Back~
"Come on, push hang in there!" A young female dragon in her human form was giving birth almost 2 months two early. Her water had unexpectedly broken when she was walking around one of the large meadows. Lucy had been in her last stages of training with the Earth Dragon, Tierra when she heard a loud scream, causing the trainee and trainer to sprint immediately into the direction.
They found a semi dark-skinned, light blonde woman doubled over as she held her enlarged belly quickly ran to her side, gently laying her down on the soft green grass they were surrounded by. Lucy had instantly analyzed the situation and looked to her dark-green haired trainer who seemed lost. "Tierra, she's going into labor" Lucy said softly, making both females look at her in horror and shock. Lucy had taken the tanned womans hand, letting her squeeze it tightly.
"B-but...I'm not due for another two months" she said quickly in one breath, her breathing become more laborious as she let out another cry of pain. It was contraction. "P-please help me... It hurts Lucy-sama..."
The two weren't surprised that she knew her name. She was known by everyone but sadly she didn't know everyone that she came across. "Ma'am, can you tell me your name please" Tierra said as she took her other hand and the hand Lucy was holding, letting the blonde get up.
"M-mary" she said through a strained voice as she groaned in pain. Tiny beads of sweat were starting to build up on her forehead an neck as she took deep breaths.
Lucy had taken a few steps back and slowly raised one hand to the slightly cloudy sky and another hand to the ground. While tensing her hands, a large hole formed in the ground and the sides had hardened, making an in ground bowl, letting that one hand relax. A few seconds after two clouds had darkened and it began to rain, which she used her other hand to grab the rain water, leading it all into the bowl while she maintained the pressure in the clouds for a few more seconds before swiftly gathering and transporting all the water to its bowl. She then plopped down onto her knees as she finished and began to heat up the water, purifying and filtering it with her magic and taking her tank top off, leaving her in her black sports bra.
Using her shirt as a cloth, she dipped it into the water, dampening it and placed the wet shirt on her forehead, imiting a sigh from Mary. Lucy looked at Tierra, nodding at the forest green haired woman and moved down, bunching up Mary's flowy dress under her breasts and her eyes widened in alarm at the sight of blood and water on the ground.
"Mary, I'm going to check to see if you're ready to push. You're doing a great job just keep taking deep breaths." Following her Queens instructions, she closed her eyes and focused on her breathing while Tierra continued to take the material on her forehead and change it for more refreshing water.
Lucy had moved the object blocking the area she needed to check and her nerves wavered a bit, sitting up between Mary's legs before getting hit in the face with a green shirt. "You're going to need it for the baby Lucy-sama" her trainer said as she quickly held the pained blondes hand. Nodding in thanks, she places the tee down and spread open Mary's legs wider, elicting a whimper of pain.
"Okay Mary, it seems like you're ready. When I say the word, I want you to give me a push but not too hard. Ready, now push." The light-haired blonde tightened her grip on Tierra and pushed, crying out in pain. After she did her first push, tears were forming in the corner of her eyes and she she was huffing and panting, her tanned body covered in a small layer of sweat.
"Push Mary" Lucy said when she saw the soon-to-be mother catch her breath.
After a couple of shouts, commands, and tears, the head was finally out. Lucy noticed the excessive blood flowing out and panicked a bit. 'This isn't suppose to happen. At this rate... She won't make it.'
A sense of urgency and determination filled her and she continued to shout out commands of push when it was appropriate before a loud wail was heard; the head was out. Quickly supporting the head she grinned and looked up only to pale at the sight. Mary was panting and sweating, her face was paler than a few minutes ago. Her Hazel green eyes were dimming and Lucy's heart started to beat rapidly.
Focusing back on the task at hand, Lucy commanded for another push and carefully pulled the newborn simultaneously. Almost out of the mother, Lucy shouted out once more and giving it all her might, the only thing heard was an ear ringing scream, wailing, something breaking, whimpering and heavy breathing.
With the newborn in one arm, she ripped the dress that the, now mother, was wearing and wrapped the exposed baby. Accpeting the damp cloth that was used for Mary, Lucy cleaned the face and some of the body of the now calm baby.
Crawling over to the exhausted mother, Tierra had lifted the sweating blonde's head onto her lap. "It's a boy" Lucy said as she handed her the baby, watching happily as an affection, tired, and proud smile made it's way to Mary's face.
"Yukine... That shall be his name. My beautiful baby boy." The Queen and green-haired female watched the scenario as tears sprung in their eyes. Mary looked at Lucy and smiled, but her eyes held pain, fatigue, and sadness. "Lucy-sama, I... I know I won't be able to make it. My body wasn't going to be able to support itself during the birth, I had been told by Grandine herself when I confronted her. I can feel myself getting tired very fast."
Lucy bit the inside of her cheek to hold in a sob that threatened to make its way out. Her lower lip trembled and her eyes shone with attentivity and remorse. "Lucy-sama, please, my last wish... is for my son to have a good home... Please, that's all that matters."
The selfless wish had a lone tear cascade down her cheek before she wiped it away, a smudge of blood now on her cheek. "I...I will take care of your baby Mary, I promise you that he will have everything he will ever need." The light in Mary's eyes started to dull and slowly, she kissed her sons forehead and whispered a small, weak thank you. Her chest that was heaving for air had now stilled and the baby boy had started to cry out again, as if he knew his mother was gone.
I pick up and cradle the baby close to me. I hum a soft tone that my mother would hum to me when I cried. After a few minutes, the little guy fell asleep. I stood up and kept my eyes on the sleeping newborns face. "Tierra. I'm going back to the castle. I want you to stay here and I shall inform everyone of this loss. Mary deserves a peaceful ceremony and she shall have just that."
Without another word, I used my magic and teleported myself and Yukine to the castle.
"Welcome ba- Hime?!" a fairy, her name Priscilla, flew to me and began questioning me left and right. I felt the baby in my arms stir and sighed.
"Priscilla, stop with the questions please. Call for Mavis and Grandine. I need them pronto. I shall be in my room." My voice held nothing but exhaustion and authority. It was ntimidating and almost frigtening to hear due to her usual calm and sweet happy tone.
It was only natural for her to be in such a dreary and tired state. She had just helped delivered a baby and watched its birth mother die right before her eyes. Although she was use to fights, action and dangerous moments, she had never had someone die right before her eyes.
She looked down at the baby in her arms and smiled to herself before teleporting to her bedroom. "If only the others were here, god I could use their help right now."
The others, Wendy, Romeo, Charla, Laxus and Cana had gone back to Magnolia a few months ago. They have mastered their training and Lucy decided that it was time for them to head back home. 'Besides' she thought bitterly, 'they must've noticed them gone by now.'
As she entered her room, she silently called forth Virgo, whispering the necessities she would need. The celestial spirit had gone and left without any hesitation, something that boosted Lucy's spirit a bit.
"Lucy" the familiar voice of Mavis appeared behind her. She slowly turned around and looked at Grandine and nodded her blonde head as she heard her gasp. "This is Mary's baby, Yukine. I... I helped deliver the baby with the help of Tierra and it pains me to say that Mary...Mary didn't make it. I want a large ceremony to be held by the end of today in honor of such a beautiful and strong woman. Grandine, I am going to need your help and vast knowledge to help me raise this baby."
Lucy looked down, seeing the baby snuggled against her chest and she smiled tenderly. "From now on, Yukine will be my son and has full rights to learn about being ruler when he reaches age. He shall train with whom he chooses."
She looked back and squared her shoulders. "Mavis, start arranging the things for the funeral and find Tierra in the meadow near the old sparing field. Grandine, I was you to go there too to help preserve and heal up her body as best as you can. Ask for help in needed... We have suffered a lost today and we must honor her."
"Yes Lucy-sama" they said in unison and walked out of the room quickly. Lucy felt her knees shake and her eyes water as she looked back down.
God he was so beautiful. So beautiful. And she had to make it her priority to take care of him. He still had some blood on his body and she decided that both of them were in need of a bath. Without any warning, Loke had suddenly materialized before her. He was on one knee and bowing, a formal greeting he established over the years of intense training. "Hime" he said softly and got up, looking at her sadly before holding her close in a hug.
Before she was even aware, she adjusted the baby in her arms and buried her face into the crevice of the lion celestial spirits neck, letting her tears flow free. It took great strain to hold in her sobs of pain and sorrow. Of course she was pained.
She lost a friend. She was a mother. She knew what was going to happen to her and still plowed through to help make sure her son would make it through. Mary. Mary was the beautiful, strong woman and she had put so much trust in her. 'If only I could have done something... I wish I could have saved her life. What is all of this power for if I can't protect people?'
~END OF FLASHBACK~
"Mama, come on let's go! I can't wait to meet uncle Laxus and Romeo-nii and Wendy-nee and auntie Cana! You're taking foreverrrrrrr" 6 year old Yukine said impatiently. He couldn't wait to see his "family."
Of course, he knows that only Laxus is Lucy's brother, but the others have grown with him, so they were like family to him. Plus, he's heard countless stories of what Fiore was like.
Yukine watched his mother get engulfed in another hug by Igneel before the fire dragon in his human form had hugged the little blond, squeezing him tightly. "We're gonna miss you here kiddo, make sure not to cause your mom too much trouble."
Igneel set him down and ruffled his head before taking his steps back. Lucy reached down to grab Yukine's hand and gave it a small squeeze. "Okay guys, we're off. I'll try to keep in contact with you all and please, if anything happens, come to me. Come on Yukine, Linda you too, I can't go without my best friend."
The special exceed let out a loud, irregular squeal as she fly over and hugged Lucy's upper arm. "I thought I was gonna have to stay alone here!" She spoke in sweet voice.
Lucy laughed and shook her head, "I could never leave you behind. Now let's go, I'm sure Loke has already told the others where we are going to be and I don't want to keep them waiting." She turned and faced the crowd behind her. It was just like she remembered the first day she arrived: Dragons in both their human and original form, gods, goddesses, fairies, griffons, and the other mythological creatures. A lone tear cascaded down her right cheek as she smiled widely at everyone who took her in and cared for her.
She turned to Mavis, who was smiling to herself and she took the first master's hand. Once they were ready, Mavis teleported them to a beach near Crocus, the center of Fiore. Once there, the first Master left the duo on their own.
Lucy looked around, confused before noticing a small hut. She used her enhanced senses, yes enhanced senses due to the fact that she had been training with such powerful beings, and heard whispers and mumbles. She felt Yukine hold her hand tighter and she gave him a reassuring squeeze.
"Momma, I don't wanna go over there" he mumbled out and Lucy smiled.
"Come on, we have to go over there, I know we'll be safe. I won't let anyone hurt you. Come on now, you're a dragon. Anyone would be terrified of you and I'm sure when we visit everyone back home, Tierra and Igneel can teach you how to transform like them" She said with a soft motherly tone that made him smile, showing his perfect teeth and sharp predominant canines.
They started walking to the shack and it took a lot of Lucy's willpower not to laugh at the expression Linda and Yukine had. She unceremoniously kicked the door open and there was a flash and the lights came on along with voices shouting "WELCOME HOME!" She felt Yukine let go of her hand and laugh as he ran towards to people that Lucy wasn't expecting to see.
Yes, Cana, Wendy, Romeo, Laxus, Happy, Pantherlily, and Gajeel she expected. Levy, Juvia, Mira, Freed, Evergreen, Bixlow, and Macao. Her eyes widened in shock and was immediately engulfed in tight hugs by the females of the guild.
The males had stayed back and watched it all play through before Laxus walked over with Yukine on his shoulders, giggling happily. "I missed you uncle Laxus!" This caused the room to freeze as if Evergreen had used her magic on them all and suddenly the blonde maiden was left on the ground alone and Laxus and Yukine were surrounded.
"I-I didn't know you had a child Lu-chan."
"He is adorable!"
"He's pretty young too, I remember when Romeo was that little."
"Ara ara, Lucy's a mother already. I wonder who the father is."
"I wonder whose the one that got cheerleader pregnant."
"Yeah, I don't see the father."
"Maybe he left love-rival?"
"How dare he!?"
"ENOUGH!" Lucy finally bellowed and in an instant, Yukine was clinging onto her and she held him, glaring at the members. "This... This is not what I wanted to come home to... Laxus. Explain how they know. I wasn't expecting anyone other than Gajeel, Lily, and Happy."
The second generation dragonslayer looked away from her strong gaze and scratched the back of his head.
"Freed, Bixlow and Evergreen followed me when I was in town looking for a gift for you. They asked questions but it was Freed who realized what was happening and they sort of stuck with me. Mira was the first to notice you were gone and she found out from me because I may or may not have gotten drunk the other night. Oh, Gajeel was the one who spilled the beans to Levy and the bookworm told Juvia and they followed along. Romeo had to tell his dad or else the old geezer was going to lock him in one of the guild rooms with the red head watching over him. There now stop looking at me like that" He said in an exasperated tone.
The only ones out of the sudden group who knew about the new Lucy was Mira, so when the others saw how the lightning dragon slayer looked completely defeated, they were shocked beyond belief. Yukine was the one who finally spoke up.
"Momma, are these people nice like auntie Cana and Wendy-nee and Romeo-nii and uncle Laxus?" Mira walked over to the mother and child and smiled softly. She gave the blonde female a look which read "I need to speak with you" before she looked at the young boy.
"Hey there, my name is Mirajane, but you can call me Mira." Yukine smiled widely and suddenly detached himself from Lucy and jumped on the white haired mage.
"Auntie Mira! Momma told me all about you! And she told me about auntie Levy and a little about auntie Juvia and about uncle Gajeel. She told me about these special cats Happy and Lily. Romeo-nii told me about Macao. Uncle Laxus told me about uncle Freed, uncle Bixlow, and auntie Evergreen!"
He smiled at their dumbfounded faced before the room erupted in a laugh. Lucy stood near the entrance and gave Gajeel a look who discreetly nodded and the female took off a few meters away. Gajeel soon slipped away with Happy and Lily and the four soon met up.
"Ga-" She began but was immediately cut off when she was in a tight hug by the iron dragon slayer. It lasted a few seconds before he pulled away but she smiled widely.
"It's really good to have you back bunny-girl.. Really it is" he said with a small smile before he began walking back to the shack.
"Lushieeee~!" The blue fur ball rammed himself into her chest and he cried into it. You could hear slurred thanks to Mavis for finally bringing her back and she couldn't help but pull in Pantherlily too, who easily returned the hug, creating a group hug. They finally pulled away and Happy asked the first question.
"I didn't know you were a mom Lushie. Does that mean I can't call you mom now?"
"Happy, you shouldn't ask her that question."
"No no it's fine hahahahahaha. Happy, you can still call me mom. But yes, I'm a mom now. I actually have a letter for you to give to Jiji when you guys go back and I want you both and Gajeel to be the only ones to be there when he reads it, okay?" She kissed both exceeds on the top of their heads, smiling and they made it back to the shack.
"Momma are you sure it's okay for us to leave them all like that with only a letter?" Little Yukine asked as he and Lucy walked hand in hand throughout the town of Crocus. She smiled and reassured him and they continued to felt a little bad leaving her poor exceed behind with them all but she knew that she would make sure to kick them all out when they noticed her disappearance.
It was just as she pictured. Large buildings, crowded areas, vendors trying to sell their products, it was adoring! She hadn't been around actual humans in such a long time she felt a little nervous and hoped her social skills weren't too bad. That was when she froze.
A cold sweat ran down the back of her neck and she took another whiff of the air to make sure she wasn't losing her mind. She wasn't. HE was nearby, in the capital of all places. There was no doubt about it. She recognized his sweat, pine, and unique mixture of tabasco and fire anywhere. Natsu Dragneel was in Crocus.
She tightened her grip on Yukine and crouched down to his level. "Okay Yukine, you and I are gonna play a little game called hidden. We're gonna try our best to hide from this person mommy doesn't want to see yet and if we win, I'll buy us some ice cream."
"Okay mommy!" He said in a cute little voice and soon she took off with Yukine next to her. She took off in a direction opposite to were he was and wanted to scream out when she tapped into his mind.
'I... I think I'm going crazy... I smell Lucy's scent. God what an amazing scent. No wait, I really do smell it! Does that mean she's here?! In Crocus?!'
She cursed under her breath as she pulled herself away from his mind and as if it were normal, she began sniffing the air until she smelled the familiar scent of light and shadow dragons together. Without a second thought, she scooped her son in her arms and took off running towards that smell. Once she got close, she put Yukine down, held his hand and walked towards a blond male and dark haired male.
Once she got close she used one of her many tricks and forced the two into a nearby store with a strong gust of wind and she squeezed herself in between them. Her chest was against the blonds and her back was pressed against the black haired guy, all while keeping a close and tight hold on the small boy.
"Hey, blondie, what do you think you're doing?"
"Sting! Manners!"
"Shut it Rogue, I know you're curious too!"
Lucy felt her head pulse and she looked up at the guy in front of her. She saw his eyes widen and his lips part a bit. On first, natural instinct, she thought he was hot. But he looked too much like a certain mage she was trying to avoid. She let out a puff of air through her nose and finally spoke.
"Okay, I know this is weird but I need you guys to do me a favor and just stay right their and hide my scent. Don't think I can't tell you two are dragonslayers so I know my request isn't that insane. Now zip it."
It was silent, the duo not moving and Lucy closed her eyes, sniffing the air a few times to determine if he was still close by. After a minute, she let her entire body relax and she pulled away from her tight spot between them and gave them a thankful smile.
"Thank you for that. My name is Lucy and this is my son, Yukine" she introduced and watched as they frowned.
"It doesn't smell like you've mated with anyone" the red eyed male said making Lucy blush and laugh awkwardly. "It's a long story. Anyways, I must get going. Nice meeting you...?"
"My name is Rogue, this is Sting."
"Rogue and Sting got it. I hope we can meet again" she said with a smile. Just as she was about to exit the store she felt a rough hand touch her shoulder and out of instinct she let go of Yukine's hand and grabbed the hand that was on her. She dug her feet in the ground and pulled the perpetrator close to her back and flung him over her shoulder and out the doors of the store. Her stance was tense before she realized who it was and she relaxed and ran towards the groaning man.
"Oh god I am so sorry Sting" Lucy said as she dropped to her knees and gave his body a quick scan. She held her hands out and placed it over his chest and without giving away her magic and slowly exhaled. She pulled away and smiled at the guy she threw over her shoulder and stood up, extending her hand out for him to hold.
He grabbed it and she helped him up. "God woman, you are something else" he mumbled under his breath.
Sting had to admit, the woman standing in front of him was something special. First impression was that she had a body that was completely amazing and her angelic face was only a mask because she definitely had a bite. He wants to know her. He wants her, and not in just an ill manner.
"Momma!" Yukine yelled out as he rushed to his mother. He stopped and stood in between the two older blondes and looked at the man before him with apprehension. Sting crouched down and put a hand on his head, ruffling his hair and smiling at the kid.
"You really love your mom huh? Well, I won't hurt her. I promise ya." Yukine looked at his mother who was having a staring contest with Sting, her eyes a little wider than normal and the faintest pink hue dusted her pale cheeks. He turned back to Sting and gave him a cheeky smile before hugging him.
"Momma, I like him! Can he be part of the family?"
The sound of incoherent sputters of denial left both mages before Rogue came up to them. "I think we should all resign back to our homes. Lucy-san, would you like us to walk you back to your home?"
Now it was Sting's turn to be even more surprised as he looked at his best friend with a stern look, watching as he had a ghost of a smile on his face as the blonde beauty agreed to his offer. Soon, the four of them were off walking to the beach to the little shack that Lucy was going to reside in.
"Eh? You live here? It looks so crap- OW!"
"Language" Lucy hissed out watching as Sting rubbed the back of his head. She sighed and took a sleeping Yukine from Rogue's arms. The shadow dragon slayer was surprisingly well with kids and she was very grateful for his offer of holding the sleeping kid. "Please, come in for a drink. It's the least I can do for your help today Rogue... I guess Sting can come in too" she said as she laughed.
Before she could open the door, Capricorn suddenly appeared before her. "Welcome home mi'lady" he said with a small bow. "We have decided to reconstruct your home from the inside but left its outside appearance to look dingy so that people wouldn't come in."
"Thank you Capricorn, tell the others thank you. You may return" Lucy said and the three adults watched as he diappeared. Before she could even push the door open, the twin dragon slayers called out her name.
"Was that one of those spirit thingys? Like what Yukino has?" Sting asked the second question more to his partner who nodded. "I'm guessing you're a celestial mage. It must be impossible though considering the only mage with that magic is in our guild."
Sting snapped his fingers, stopping his friend from continuing. "There was news like a couple of years ago of the sudden disappearance of a celestial mage from Fairy... Tail..." his voice got quieter as they finally took note of the pink symbol on her hand.
She groaned softly and using her foot, she kicked the door in in agitation. "You two. In. Now."
"I'M GONNA KICK HIS ASS!" Sting roared as he shot out of his chair. Now then, Lucy had explained her reason for leaving the guild years ago and explained that she left to train, but never spoke a word of her time training with the other beings, nor of her companions names. Sting was able to shout because Lucy had placed a rune in Yukine's room to prevent him from hearing the noise as he slept with Linda in his arms. Although she got a scolding from the little thing, she forgave her after seeing her back home safe and sound.
Capricorn hadn't lied when he said the inside was completely refurnished. It was almost as large as her bedroom in the castle. The floor was tiled with marble and the furnature was directly from the spirit world, making it more durable and stronger than normal things.
Sting was about to step out the house when he was suddenly frozen in place. His eyes widened in alarm as he tried to move his body, a growl coming from the back of his throat. "What the HELL is going on?!"
Lucy stood in front of him with a frown, crossing her arms over her large chest, sending Rogue a small nod. The shadow dragon slayer had been quick on his feet and used his shadows to hold Stings body.
"You mister won't be doing anything. From what I was told, everyone finally realized my disappearance but that doesn't mean any of them have to pay, especially him. He... he loves her and didn't realize what he had done. I don't care about it anymore, so please, leave it be Sting."
The scowl that adorned his face melted away and into a softer, oddly relaxing one. He didn't know what about it but there was something about her that got him in a state of relaxation. He felt that he could move his body and without a second thought, he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly, ignoring the fact that the woman was as stiff as a board. Just as he was about to pull away, he felt her arms wrap around his torso and she hid her face in his chest.
'There is something about her that I have to figure out... I don't plan on letting her go so easily' Sting thought with a newfound sense of protection. The hug ended all too soon for the light dragonslayer as she sent him a shy smile and took a step back.
"Well I think you two should head back to your respective hotel or something, thanks again for today. It felt good talking it all out. Oh and Rogue, try to talk more. You're a smart guy and bumble bee here needs the guidance." Her remark earned her a indignified "hey" and a noticable smile from the other companion.
Just as they had both started heading out, Sting stopped and turned to Rogue, who in turn nodded and they both faced Lucy who looked at them oddly. "Is it okay if we got to see the little guy one more time?"
"Yes, he has this special charisma that draws people. He's a good kid."
This... this she did not expect. She opened her mouth to say something but was cut off when she heard small footsteps. "Momma, are they leaving?" She noticed Linda wasn't with him and smiled slightly. 'Lazy girl...'
"Yeah, they actually wanted to say bye to you before they left" she said as she crouched down to his level and smiled that special, tender smile for him. His hazel brown eyes sparkeled a little as she looked from the new friends he made to his mom.
"Really?"
"Well yeah, you're such a good kid that they think you are awesome."
Lucy almost engulfed him in a hug as she saw his entire face light up with happiness and he ran to hug Rogue and Sting's leg. "You have to come back!" he exclaimed with nothing but joy on his face. All three of the males turned to look at Lucy who was contemplating the idea.
'What if they accidentally get tailed and lead a member from Fairy Tail here... Or what if they end up causing chaos with nii-san and the others... Goodness, the things I do for Yukine.' She sighed and closed her eyes, nodding, missing the smiles all three of them had.
"Lucy please just listen to me!"
"No Sting, I'm not ready to go back there! Stop telling me to go!"
7 months. 7 months have passed since Lucy and Yukine have been living in Earthland. 7 months have passed since she had befriended the notorious twin dragon slayers and they have grown so close. Although, right now Sting and Lucy were in a stalemate. The tension in the air filled the home rapidly, causing Rogue, the rational one, to take Yukine on a stroll on the beach away from the drama that was ensuing.
Lector, Frosch and Linda had joined them, wanting to stay safe from any harm that could come their way.
"Dammit Lucy, just go already!"
"NO!"
"IT'S BEEN 7 FUCKING MONTHS WOMAN! YOU HAVE TO FACE THEM AT SOME POINT AND IF I DON'T KEEP TELLING YOU TO GO, YOU'LL AVOID THEM FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! WHAT ABOUT YOUR BROTHER AND FRIENDS AND GRANDFATHER?! FOR CHRIST SAKE, ROGUE AND I WILL GO WITH YOU, JUST GO SEE THEM AT LEAST ONCE!'
Sting was panting, his throat dry from all of the yelling. His head was throbbing and with a groan, he went over to sit on the cherry wood coffee table. He had been trying to convince the Queen to finally see her guildmates. She only let a selected handful of people come and vidit her and they were the same people who have been with her during her time of knew that she was afraiad of their reactions to seeing her after so long, and with a kid by her side none the less.
Lucy stayed silent and walked overto sit next to him on the table. "...Once... Once Sting. If things go good, I'll help you win over Yukino... If not, I'm taking Yukine and he and I are heading home."
Sting blushed at the mention of the celestial mage and smiled at Lucy, pulling her for a side hug and laughing. He knew that she wasn't lying about going home. He and Rogue had decided to finally show her their exceeds and waited in her home when they suddenly stay a portal open in the middle of the living room and Lucy, along with Yukine, came out. She told them the truth and Lector and Frosh immediately took a liking to her, liking the caring yet dominant aura she held.
She had also used her telepathy to speak directly into their minds and tell them the truth about Yukine, which brought out the more playful and caring side in both Sting and Rogue as they did everything they could for the little kid. Linda hadn't taking that much of a liking to Lector, but had fun hanging out with Frosch.
"Good, now I can go and kick Natsu-sans ass for all that he's done." Lucy laughed and pushed him away gently,
"I don't know, he'll probably kick your ass and then I'll have to heal you while kicking his."
"Oh come on, you have no faith in me."
"Deep breaths Lu" Linda said as she sat on her shoulder.
"Go Lucy-san!" Lector and Froch said together and gave her a smile.
Two hands clasped her shoulders and another, tinier one grabbed her hand. She looked to her left and saw Rogue.
"You can do this" he said softly as he let his hand fall down. Turning her head to the right she saw Sting with a smirk.
"Come on blondie, don't let them intimidate. You can kick their asses in the blink of an e- OW!" He glared at the female he was giving words of encouragement to,shrinking away a little at the smile she had on.
"Language bumblebee or else you're in big trouble."
The tug on her hand forced her to look down. "You can do this mommy" Yukine said with a smile.
They were outside the large Fairy Tail guild and the sound of music, cheers and laughter were easily heard, just as she remembered them. They had all left to magnolia the week after her talk with Sting.
No amount of words could get rid of the nervousness she felt. It was like the beginning of her training with Igneel, having been surrounded by fire, steam and molten lava.
She let go of Yukine's hand, having him go behind her and Linda fluttered down her shoulder as she put a hand on the large door and pushed it open. The noise died down rapidly and all eyes were on her as she took tiny steps towards them. Her brown eyes scanned around, looking and taking in the surprised faces.
Her body betrayed her as her eyes connected to the familiar wide eyed, evergreen eyes. Her own eyes got blurry, filled with tears as she put on a weak and shaky smile.
"I'm home everyone."
Silence. Her voice had echoed throughout the guild. Makarov had soon appeared before her and smiled. "Welcome home... Lucy." A tear slid down her cheek and his aging voice broke everyone from their state and in complete unison, their emotional, cracked voices shouted "LUCY!"
