Hey guys. Sorry for the long wait, but things have been rough to say the least. Whoever said that senior year was the best year of highschool was delirious. I've just been so tired recently and it never ends. Anyways, sorry again. I decided to take a break today and just write this so I hope it's ok.

Have you guys heard about the season 5 episode with guaranteed Danny whump and bromance?! Apparently, April's crazy ex-husband comes calling and beats Danny up and it's Steve to the rescue! I can't wait for that and if you guys have any more information on that, I would love to know!

Moving on, I hope this chapters ok and will hold you over for either the next update or the next episode. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Hawaii Five-O or any of its characters.

Steve took another step and almost tripped, trying desperately to make the dizziness go away and to clear his vision. Whatever had been given to him obviously had some side effects. "Danny? Can you hear me?"

There was no response.

Steve felt his pulse quicken and couldn't help pulling Danny closer to his chest. He never thought that he would think of Danny's rants as beautiful, but right now . . . he would give everything he had, including his life, if his partner would open his eyes and yell at him. He didn't care what Danny yelled at him about, it could even be something completely unwarranted, just as long as he was yelling. Because if Danny was yelling, then he wasn't dead.

Steve kept on walking, occasionally talking to Danny just trying to fill the empty space with his own voice and hoping that Danny would answer him. The industrial park they were in was huge and Steve found himself wondering just how far he'd gone, but he knew that he wasn't exactly moving with great speed, so he let that thought pass.

"Come on, D. Just say something. Anything. Yell at me, call me out, tell me what a bone-headed neanderthal animal I am, just . . . say anything."

Steve tripped again and, this time, wasn't able to correct his footing, going down to his knees in an attempt to spare his partner any further pain. He gently let Danny's legs fall to the ground and brought his now free hand up to check Danny's pulse. It was weak and fading. His breathing was labored and Steve could hear how he was struggling for each breath above the pattering of the rain. "Danny? Danny, come on, babe. Open your eyes. Danny! Open your eyes!" Steve said with increasing panic, shaking Danny's shoulders, but his eyes remained stubbornly closed. Steve took a few precious seconds and let his head drop down and press against Danny's water drenched forehead. "That's ok, Danno. You deserve a break," he whispered, his eyes closed and he simply breathed.

Taking one last deep breath, he raised his head and looked at his partner again, before looking around for a new option. His eyes fell on the most beautiful thing he could think of right now.

A car was parked against the side of a warehouse, alone in the rain and Steve knew what he had to do. "Come on, Danno," he said, pulling Danny back up into his arms and moving as quickly as he could towards the vehicle. He placed Danny gently on the ground moved to the drivers side door, quickly breaking the glass out with a rock and unlocking it. He spent a few minutes hot wiring it and thanked God when engine roared to life. "We finally caught a break, buddy. We're going to be ok now." Steve gently carried his partner to the passenger side and buckled him into the seat before moving back to the drivers side and taking off in a spray of water.

The SEAL drove in silence, occasionally looking into the passenger side seat and checking to make sure that Danny's chest was still rising and falling. In the five minutes that it took to get to the hospital, he watched as the rise and fall slowed. He just hoped that Danny would hold on until they reached the hospital.

Jessi Savin looked up from her position behind the nurses desk at the sound of yelling. A tall man had burst into the ER, a smaller man draped in his arms. It took a moment for Jessi to realize that she was looking at Commander Steve McGarrett and his partner, Detective Danny Williams. Jessi ran out from behind the desk and joined a group of nurses and a few doctors in getting Williams on a gurney and wheeling him towards an examination room. She broke off as they headed through the swinging doors and instead turned to Steve. His eyes were wide and fearful, his hair was dripping wet and he looked on the verge of tears. Along with that, he was shaking with exhaustion and his pupils were dilated to the point that it was plain he had been drugged.

"Steve?" Jessi asked, walking forward slowly at the sight of his desperate and fragile expression and the blood all over his clothing. "Steve, can you hear me?"

Steve seemed to speak through a haze, his eyes never leaving the place where Danny disappeared behind swinging doors of doom. "Danny . . . he wouldn't leave . . . I told him to leave . . . And now . . . now." He didn't get any further as his eyes rolled back in his head and he collapsed to the floor.

I'm sorry it was kind of short. Honestly, I didn't really know where I was going with this chapter, I just wanted to write some bromance and get away for a little bit.

Have a great week everyone. See ya.
