Chapter Eleven

It's Monday morning, Quinn and Beth are already awake and eating breakfast at the kitchen table, although Beth seems a little off, and Quinn isn't sure why.

"Are you feeling sick, baby?" Quinn asks feeling Beth's forehead.

Beth frowns pushing Quinn's hand away. "I'm fine."

"You don't seem fine." Quinn gently points out, however, Beth remains silent. "Did something happen at your dad's?" Again, Beth doesn't say anything. "Alright, you don't have to talk about it now. Are you finished eating?" Beth nods. "Ok, get dressed. Only one more week of school." She adds seeing Beth pout some more.

While Beth gets ready for school, Quinn cleans up the kitchen before getting ready for work herself, then the pair head out the door. At the elementary school, Quinn gives Beth another chance to tell her why she's upset, however, Beth still remains silent.

"Have a good day, sweets. Love you." Quinn kisses Beth's cheek.

"Love you, too." Beth gets out of the car then joins her friend in front of the school.

Quinn waits a moment to see if there are any signs to why Beth is so upset but then gives up and goes to work. However, when she gets there, she calls Puck in the parking lot, wanting some answers.

"I'm at work. Whatever you're going to bitch about, make it fast."

Any other time Puck would get an ear full, but Quinn is more concerned about their daughter right now.

"What's wrong with Beth? She seems upset but she won't tell me why."

"Oh, you remember Mrs. Atwood, old lady who lives next door to me?"

"Of course. Beth used to talk about her all the time."

"She's been sick for a few months but she passed away yesterday afternoon."

Quinn frowns. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because I already talked to Beth about it. I figured there was nothing left to say. I tried everything I could think of to make her feel better." He explains. "I gotta get back to work." And with that Puck hangs up.

With a sigh, Quinn puts her cellphone into her purse and just as she opens the car door to go inside the vet clinic, she spots a man running across the parking lot and holding a bleeding dog in his arms. Concerned, Quinn runs after him inside.

"What happened?" She asks before the receptionist could ask the same thing.

"I-I was on my way to work, and he came out of no where. I-I didn't mean to hit him but my brakes are bad-"

Quinn holds up her hand. "Let's get him to the back before he bleeds out."

The man nods then follows Quinn to an exam room then the blonde fetches Dr. Fallon so she can treat the unknown injured dog with her assistance while the man who brought him in waits in the waiting room. Once the dog is stable, Quinn informs the man who brought the dog in on his condition.

"So he's going to be ok?" He asks with hope.

Quinn nods. "He'll need to stay here for the rest of the week so the doctor can keep on eye on him. You brought him in just in time or it could've been a lot worse."

The man breathes a sigh of relief. "That's great. Although I'm really late for work now, I'm really glad he's ok. You didn't happen to see a tag on him, did you?"

"Not even a collar. Looks like he's a stray."

"Looks like I have a dog now." He says with a laugh.

Quinn gestures for him to follow her to the desk so he can pay the bill. "I'm gonna guess you'll need some dog food, too." He nods. "There's some over there by the collars. We can also engrave a tag, if you want."

"Sure." He smiles. Quinn gets everything he needs together and even rings it all up for him. "Thanks for all the help," he pauses to read Quinn's name tag, "Quinn."

The blonde smiles. "Anytime."

As Quinn goes to the back, she doesn't catch the man looking back at her as he leaves. Then he smirks and gets into his car before finally leaving.

"It's been awhile since we had an emergency." Mike says.

Quinn nods. "I'm glad it has a happy ending though. Now a stray dog gets to go to a good home."

"Speaking of good home, how are you and Beth doing?"

"I'm pretty good but Beth is pretty upset." Quinn goes on to explain what happened to Puck's neighbor. "I wish Puck would've told me when he dropped Beth off last night, then maybe I could've said or done something this morning to make her feel better."

"Grief is tricky and confusing. Especially for a six-year-old. Just give her some time I'm sure she'll come around."

Quinn sighs. "I just hate seeing her so upset."

Mike flashes a sympathetic smile when Quinn is called by Dr. Fallon to help with another patient, and the pair return to work.

"So what have you decided?" Brittany asks Santana.

All morning Santana has thought about the pros and cons of helping Jesse with his school project and so far she still can't decide if it's a good idea or not. It had been bothering her so much, the brunette went to Brittany's apartment for a second opinion.

"That's the problem, I still don't know if I want to do it or not. It's driving me crazy so I came here for a second opinion." She explains as they continue eating breakfast.

Brittany shrugs. "You said it's only for a school project, right?" Santana nods. "Then I don't see the harm. Maybe you might help a closeted college student."

Santana flashes a weak smile. "I didn't think about it like that." Brittany smiles. "Alright, I'll tell Jesse and Quinn that I'll do it."

The brunette then looks at the clock and shoves the rest of her pancake into her mouth before rushing to the door.

"Do you really need to tell them now? What's the hurry?" Still eating, Santana just points to the clock. "Shit." Brittany rushes behind her friend. "Thank god it's the last week before summer break."

In Brittany's car, the pair of friends leave for school. Fortunately for them, they're not late when they finally arrive. Santana and Brittany split off to their classrooms and try to get through the day.

When it's time for lunch, Santana decides to call Quinn and even Jesse to let them both know she's decided to help Jesse with his project, however, on her way to the parking lot to make the call, she's surprised to see Beth sitting behind the dumpsters.

"Pequeña, what are you doing back here?" She asks sitting next to the little sad blonde.

"I don't feel like playing." Beth says looking at the asphalt parking lot.

Santana sympathetically rubs Beth's back. "Is someone being mean to you again?" Beth shakes her head. "Then what's wrong, pequeña, talk to me." She gently encourages.

Beth begins to tear up and wipes her eyes with a sniffle. "Mrs. Atwood died. She was my daddy's neighbor." She explains. "And my friend. She gave me cookies for walking her dog once when she was real sick. And one time she babysat me when daddy was working late, she let me make a big forte out of the couch cushions."

Once in a while as Beth explained why she's upset, Santana would nod, rub Beth's back or wipe a tear for the little girl.

"I miss her already. I'm sad and I feel worser when I'm happy." Beth confesses.

Santana wraps her arms around Beth and positions the blonde on her lap. "It's ok to feel sad for a while, losing someone you love is tough but that's why it's ok to feel happy whenever you can. And I'm sure Mrs. Atwood wouldn't want you to be sad all the time."

Beth looks up at Santana. "How do you know what she wants?"

Santana takes a moment to hold back a chuckle. "Well would you want your mom to be sad all the time?"

Beth shakes her head. "No." She wipes the rest of her tears with a sigh. "So if I play with my friends, it's ok if that makes me happy?"

"Of course." Santana smiles. "Feeling better now?"

Beth nods. "Thanks, Tana." She hugs the brunette.

"Any time. I'm always here if you need me."

Beth quickly kisses Santana's cheek then jumps up from the brunette's lap. "I'm gonna play hide-and-seek with my friends now." She smiles.

Santana chuckles at the sudden mood change. "Ok, have fun." The Latina shakes her head, albeit with a smile, watching Beth run to the playground then she calls Jesse first since she'll be on the phone longer with her girlfriend, and of course he's excited. Now she's on the phone with Quinn.

"So you're going to do it?"

"Yea. It's just for a school project and if it can help someone, then why not?" There's a short pause.

"Did Jesse say what exactly we'll be doing and when we'll start filming?"

"Yea. He told me he'll just be asking questions at first and he's hoping to start tomorrow, if you can come over after school. Beth can come, too." She adds.

"Sure, I'm sure Beth will be looking forward to it." Quinn says with a laugh.

Santana smiles. "Speaking of Beth. I just ran into her, she was pretty upset about a Mrs. Atwood."

Quinn exhales. "Yea, I guess she was pretty close to Puck's neighbor. I would've said something earlier if I knew but she was quiet this morning."

"Well I talked to her and it seemed to make her feel better. She was feeling guilty for being happy, so I explained that in this situation it's ok to be happy whenever you can."

Quinn smiles. "Thank you for being there for her. She really really adores you."

Santana blushes. "You're welcome, and the feeling is mutual." There's another short pause.

"I gotta go, babe. I'll talk to you later."

"Ok, bye."

Santana hangs up then on her way back to her classroom, the brunette passes through the cafeteria to grab something small and quick for lunch. In the classroom as she puts away her phone, she suddenly realizes she received a text from Brittany, however, she doesn't have the time to read it as students begin walking in the room.

The rest of the school day flies by uneventful, as it usually does during the last week before summer break. On her way out of the building, Brittany catches up to Santana as the brunette reaches the vehicle.

"You didn't see my text?"

"I saw the notification, but I couldn't read it." Santana says as they get into the car.

"I met someone." Brittany smiles.

Santana narrows her eyes. "When, where?"

"During lunch. I went to the coffee bean since you were at the parking lot calling your girl." She explains. "Someone cut me in line and was being a total asshole so he rescued me. He's so sweet and he didn't get my number with a cheesy pick-up line."

"Are you going to tell me his name?" Santana asks with a laugh.

Brittany rolls her eyes, albeit with a smile. "It's Spencer."

"Isn't that a girls name?" Brittany glares at the brunette making Santana laugh. "It's a joke. Relax." Brittany shakes her head. "When will I get to meet him?"

Brittany shrugs. "I don't know. We haven't even gone out yet, he just has my number. Who knows if he'll even call me, I just got excited." The blonde deflates.

"I don't think he would ask for you number if he doesn't plan on calling." Santana points out.

"I just don't want my hopes up, I guess."

Santana flashes a sympathetic smile. "Wanna have a movie marathon and eat tons of popcorn and junk food? I'll wait with you, see if he calls."

"I would love that." Brittany smiles in return.

"I'll just have to stop by my place to get out of these work clothes."

"Ok. I'll make the popcorn then."

At the apartment, the girls split so Santana get change into something more comfortable for a movie marathon.

"Jesse, I'm going over Brittany's so you can have whatever you want for dinner. I'm just changing out of my-" Santana stops mid sentence passing the kitchen as she sees Jesse with a girl she's never met before. "Who's this?"

"Bree. She's a friend from school, and she might help me with my project."

"Might?" Santana arches her brow.

"Depending on her new work schedule. We're preparing in case she can help." He explains.

Santana slowly nods. "Well like I said I'll be over Brittany's so order or cook whatever you want for dinner. I'm just going to get out of my work clothes and then I'm heading over there."

"Are you staying the night?"

"No, just a few hours."

Jesse nods. "Have fun."

Santana just smiles and continues to her bedroom to quickly change, then she heads to Brittany's apartment to discover the blonde is making a second bowl of popcorn.

"What's with the second bowl, one isn't enough?" Santana asks before throwing a few pieces of popcorn into her mouth.

"One is never enough, you always eat most of it. So you'll have your own bowl and I'll have mine. That way I'll get more than a few bites."

Santana scoffs. "Whatever, more popcorn for me." She smirks then takes her bowl into the living room.

When Brittany's bowl is popped, she joins Santana in the living room and the pair vote on the first movie of their marathon. During the movie, Brittany talks a bit more about Spencer and their encounter. Santana also informs Brittany what Quinn told her about Jesse's project and when he plans to start filming when the phone rings.

"I told you he'd call." Santana assures the tall blonde.

"We don't know if that's him. It could be anyone." Brittany points out before answering the phone. "Hello?" She asks, not recognizing the number. Then her eyes widen and she covers the mouth piece. "It's him." She whispers to Santana.

Santana gives her a thumbs up then gestures to keep talking. Wanting privacy, Brittany takes the call in the kitchen leaving Santana to watch the movie on her own just until Brittany is done, so the brunette thinks.

However, Santana ends up watching the rest of the movie on her own, and even falls asleep before she realizes Brittany is still in the kitchen and on the phone with Spencer. With a huff, Santana goes into the kitchen and stands in front of Brittany with her arms crossed and tapping her foot.

"I'm sorry to cut you off buy my friend is actually here and I've been on the phone way too long. I'll see you this weekend." Brittany smiles. There's a short pause as Spencer responds. "Ok, bye."

"What the hell, Pierce? I thought you'd be on the phone a few minutes and I watched the movie on my own and then I actually fell asleep."

Brittany winces. "I'm sorry. It's just after he asked me out, we started talking and then we just couldn't stop. But I'll make it up to you."

"Mhm." Santana narrows her eyes.

The blonde sighs. "Don't be like that."

Santana shrugs. "If you make it up to me, I'll feel better." Brittany rolls her eyes with a smile. "But right now, I'm going home. It's late, already, and we need to be up early."

"I really am sorry." Brittany hugs the Latina.

"Mhm." Santana repeats before going home. However, when she arrives, she realizes the door is locked and curses under her breath. "You've got to be kidding me." Just when she goes to knock to wake Jesse up, the door opens, but it wasn't Jesse who opened it.

"I told you she wasn't here yet." Says Bree as she walks back to the living room where Jesse sits on the couch.

Santana follows the other brunette. "But you're still here." Bree just nods so Santana turns to Jesse.

"She's staying the night."

Santana arches her brow, wanting more of an explanation but when she doesn't get one, she gives up and goes to her room instead.

As planned, Jesse begins filming for his project. As he sets up the equipment in their living room, Santana waits for Quinn and Beth to arrive.

"What time did she say they were coming?" Jesse asks seeing Santana wait by the door.

"She didn't. Just that they're on their way." Santana looks at the clock, impatient.

Jesse shakes his head, albeit, with a smirk when someone knocks on the door and Santana is quick to greet their guests.

"Hi, Tana."

Beth gives Santana a quick hug before walking past her. However, before the brunette could respond, Quinn is kissing her.

"Sorry." Quinn apologizes. "I kinda missed you." She blushes.

Santana smiles. "I kinda missed you, too." She says with a laugh.

"What's this?" Beth asks Jesse.

"Honey, what did I tell you before we left?" Quinn asks walking up to the little girl to stop her from touching Jesse's equipment.

"Sorry." Beth apologizes.

"This is a light." Jesse answers her question. "Makes everything on camera look better."

"Speaking of, when will your friend get here?" Santana asks.

Jesse looks at his watch. "Very soon."

"Ok, well for now, I'm going to show Beth where she can play." Santana says taking said girl by the hand and taking the little girl to her bedroom.

"Thanks for doing this, by the way." Jesse says to Quinn.

"Of course." Quinn smiles. "How long will this be exactly?"

Jesse narrows his eyes, albeit, with a smile. "I'm not sure yet, honestly. Why? You want this over with already?"

"No, that's not what I-"

"It's ok." He cuts her off. "I was just teasing." Quinn chuckles when someone knocks at the door. "That must be Chandler." Jesse says heading over to the door.

"We can't film too late, I have an early class tomorrow." Is the first thing Chandler says.

Jesse rolls his eyes. "I wasn't planning on it." He closes the door then shows his friend where they'll be filming. "Chandler, this is my roommates girlfriend Quinn. Quinn, my best friend, Chandler." He introduces them.

"Hi, nice to meet you." Quinn smiles shaking Chandler's hand.

"You, too." He says politely, then looks around the room confused. "So are we doing this without the roommate?"

"She's just down the hall with my daughter."

Surprised to hear Quinn has a daughter, Chandler just nods then sets up his camera and other equipment.

"This will take a few minutes. You can wait with Santana." Jesse tells Quinn.

"Ok. Let us know when everything is ready."

Jesse just gives Quinn a thumbs up so the blonde joins her girlfriend and her daughter down the hall.

"You never mentioned one of them has a kid." Says Chandler.

"Is that a problem?"

Chandler shrugs. "No, I'm just weird around kids. I haven't been around many and I don't know what to do when I am." He confesses.

Jesse just snorts and rolls his eyes.

In the other room, Santana and Beth are on the bed playing a board game Beth brought.

"Mommy, I'm beating Tana." Beth brags.

Quinn smiles. "Good job, sweets." The blonde joins them on the bed.

"We're not starting yet?" Santana asks.

"No, the camera has to be set up first and who knows what else." She jokes.

"I won!" Beth happily announces. Santana gives the little blonde a high-five. "Now you can play with us, mommy." She says giving Quinn a piece to the game.

"Do you have any plans for the summer?" Santana suddenly asks.

Quinn shakes her head. "Not really. Why do you ask?"

Santana shrugs. "Usually I go to a cabin my parents own in the country by myself for a couple weeks then my family will stay over for awhile. But since I'm finally not single, my plans can change."

Beth gasps. "Can we go, mommy, please?" She begs.

Quinn smiles. "You want to spend some of your summer in the woods?"

Beth nods. "Yea, we get to be with Tana." Santana blushes then kisses the little girl's cheek.

"That's a very good point." Quinn smiles at her girlfriend, making the brunette's cheeks darken even more.

"I guess that means you're going?" Santana asks.

"We're definitely going."

"Yay!" Beth cheers with a bright smile when Jesse interrupts her celebration.

"We're ready for you guys."

Beth pouts. "But we didn't finish playing."

"We'll finish as soon as we're done helping Jesse, ok?" Santana asks.

"Cross your heart?"

Santana makes a gesture making an invisible X over her heart. "Cross my heart."

"Ok." Beth smiles.

Santana quickly kisses Beth's cheek then follows Quinn out to the living room.

"Chandler, this is my roommate, Santana. Santana, Chandler." Jesse introduces them, then the pair greet and shake hands.

"So Bree isn't helping with this project?" Santana asks Jesse, arching her brow.

Jesse rolls his eyes. "She'll be here whenever Chandler has work."

Chandler gets two little microphones and two packs then walks over to Santana and Quinn.

"This is for the sound. I have to clip the microphone on you guys, somewhere on your shirts." He explains then puts a mic on Quinn first then Santana before standing behind the camera.

"When is this project due again?" Santana continues.

"The end of next month. Right before spring break." Jesse grabs a notepad then a chair from the kitchen and sets it next to the tripod holding the camera. "Ok, start recording in 3..2..1." He whispers the one and Chandler starts recording.

"We're just gonna start simple. State your name and how old you were when you came out to your family and friends, then I'll ask my questions." Jesse continues.

Santana looks to Quinn, silently letting the blonde know she can start first, however, seeing how nervous her girlfriend suddenly is, Santana starts instead.

"My name is Santana Lopez, and I-," the brunette pauses, suddenly realizing talking about her coming out story isn't easy for her either, "I was a junior in high school." She settles for, for now.

"My name is Quinn Fabray, and it was just a couple years ago that I came out to my family. My friends always had a hunch and I came out to them before my family."

"How did your friends react versus your family?" Jesse asks.

Again, Santana answers first.

"My friends-the few friends I did have, were really supportive. Like Quinn's friends, they had a hunch already so it was easy talking to them about it. My parents were really supportive, too, but not everyone in my family are. It's not easy not talking to them because of it but it helps thinking how much worse it could be if I let them in my life again." She says honestly. Even Jesse and Chandler seemed moved by her words.

There's a short pause as Quinn holds Santana's hand, silently giving her girlfriend some emotional support.

"My friends were really supportive too, but my family pretty much disowned me. Just recently I visited my hometown to be with my sister when she had her baby but it turned out exactly like I knew it would, me storming out. Sometimes I wish I was closer with my family, for my daughter, but in moments like that, I'm glad we're not."

"How did your daughter's father react?" Jesse asks.

Quinn exhales while Santana rubs the back of her hand with her thumb. "Poorly. We weren't right for each other, but still I could tell he loved me at one point. He didn't want to let go of what we used to have, then I dropped the news on him that I was actually never even attracted to him so he became resentful towards, not only me, but all lesbians." She explains.

"Does that make it difficult for you to date?" Jesse continues.

"Well Santana is the only one I've dated since me and my ex split up and so far it hasn't been too difficult, knock on wood." Quinn jokes and even knocks on the coffee table.

Jesse continues to ask the couple questions until he's asked everything he planned on asking.

"And cut." He says to Chandler. "That's it for today, ladies. Thanks. After we're done cleaning this up, we'll be in my room planning a schedule and probably playing video games."

"Ok." Says Santana, then the brunette turns to her girlfriend. "Are you going home right away or do you want to stay a while?"

"I think we both want to stay a while." Beth nods happily.

Santana chuckles. "How about we finish that game?"

"Yay!"

Beth cheers running to Santana's bedroom, however, they still don't finish the game as Beth gets distracted easily. Instead, the trio get comfortable on Santana's bed to watch a movie the little blonde has never seen before.

"Can I put it in?" Beth asks Santana.

"Sure, just be careful."

Beth nods then carefully places the disc into the DVD player before jumping on the bed and getting comfortable on Santana's lap. Quinn playfully scowls at her daughter.

"Excuse you, but I'd like to cuddle with my girlfriend." She teases, but secretly loves how much her mini-me adores the Latina. Santana just shakes her head then laughs as Beth sticks out her tongue and lays back on her chest.

"Come here, baby, we can still cuddle." Santana says opening her arm. Quinn slides over and lays her head on Santana's shoulder.

Although Beth really wanted to see the movie, halfway through she has difficulty keeping her eyes open and eventually loses the fight.

"We should go." Quinn whispers with disappointment.

Santana frowns. "Yea, ok. I'll walk you out." Carefully Quinn takes Beth from Santana then they head for the door. "Text me when you get there."

Quinn nods then leans in for a kiss. "I've never stayed at a cabin before. Do I have to buy sleeping bags?"

Santana chuckles. "You're thinking of camping."

Quinn blushes, feeling embarrassed. "Right. I'm gonna go now while I'm ahead."

The Latina just laughs and is able to sneak a quick kiss to Beth's head.

Despite being upset they had to part, the rest of the week flies by and before they knew it, Santana is helping Quinn put their bags in the Latina's trunk.

"Are you sure you have enough room for everything?" Quinn asks.

"Will Beth be staying with us the whole time, how does this sharing custody work in the summer?"

"We switch weeks instead of weekends. This week she's with Puck, then next week she'll be with me and so on." The blonde explains.

Santana smiles holding on to Quinn's waist and pulling her close. "So we get the cabin to ourselves for an entire week?" Quinn nods with a smirk. "I think we definitely have to take advantage of that."

Quinn chuckles. "Well I do still have to go to work and since we'll be in the country, I'll have to leave earlier than normal so I'm not sure how much fun we'll get to have."

Santana groans. "Totally ruined my mood, babe." The brunette pecks Quinn's lips then gets into the car and Quinn shortly follows.

The couple keep each other entertained until they finally reach the cabin. Santana pulls into a long dirt road that leads to an upscale, modern cabin, much bigger than Quinn had pictured in her head when Santana mentioned cabin. It even has a three door garage off to the side, disconnected from the cabin.

"Normally I think it's rude to ask about someone's finances but how much money does your parents have?"

Santana chuckles. "They live comfortably but they're not rich. This cabin has been handed down for years and it's been renovated over time." She explains.

"Oh well, it's beautiful." Quinn takes a moment to admire the building when a thought occurrs to her. "Exactly how many of your family will be joining us?"

"It's always the same people. My parents, obviously, my tio Marteniz, he's my Mami's brother, and he'll bring his girlfriend of the month," Quinn snorts, "Tia Bianca, my Papi's sister, and her husband Tio Miguel, and their boys. Felipé, he's around Beth's age, and Javier, from Tio Miguel's previous marriage, he's almost eighteen. And I'm sure my cousin Jorge will visit at some point." She says with an eye roll.

"Not a fan?"

Santana shrugs. "Not exactly. I mean, of course I love him, he's just the obnoxious, drunk cousin. He can be pretty embarrassing."

"Oh, ok." Quinn laughs then she helps Santana bring their bags inside and admires the cabin once more. The beautiful wooden walls, floors, and large fireplace in the middle of the living room. The downstairs floor plan is open, so she's also able to see the modern yet country style kitchen. There's also a spiral staircase leading to the equally large second floor.

"There are many perks to being the first one here." Santana says as she has Quinn follow her upstairs. "One of them is getting dibs on the biggest room."

Santana opens the door and for the third time, Quinn finds herself in admiration. Just as Santana said, the room is large, and so is the bed. There's also a belcony with a small table big enough for the couple and even Beth when she arrives.

"You're right, this is amazing."

Quinn puts her bag on the bed to unpack while the Latina puts hers next to the dresser then Santana wraps her arms around the blonde from behind and kisses her neck.

"Don't worry about unpacking now. Let's take advantage of having the place to ourselves." She husks seductively into her girlfriend's ear.

Quinn smiles then turns around and connects their lips in a heated kiss. Santana's hand then wanders under the blonde's shirt to her chest and squeezes her girlfriend's breast, earning a moan. Then she removes her hand and pulls away from the kiss just so she can strip Quinn of her shirt.

"I'm really glad I decided to come."

Santana frowns. "Are you saying you almost weren't?"

Quinn shakes her head. "No, I just mean I'm glad I came. Mercedes tried talking me out of it but I really wanted to go." The blonde leans in for another kiss, but Santana puts up her hand and gently pushes her away.

"Why didn't you mention that earlier?"

Quinn shrugs, confused. "I didn't think it mattered since I came. Does this really upset you that much?"

Santana exhales. "A little." She confesses. "Why would Mercedes try to talk you out of it, does she not like me, or something?"

"Of course she likes you. It's just she thinks it's too soon in our relationship to be spending a couple weeks out here together and with your family." She explains.

Santana nods slowly. "But you don't think it's too soon."

Quinn steps closer to the brunette and wraps her arms around her neck. "It's not like we're moving in together or getting married, I'm just meeting some of your family, and I want to. I don't care what anyone else thinks, I'm finally with someone I want to do all these things with, like spend the summer together and meeting families."

Santana blushes holding Quinn's waist. "Yea?"

Quinn nods. "We're not two teenagers moving too fast. We're grown women and we know what we want, I don't see anything wrong with that."

Santana reconnects their lips in a heated make out session, then Quinn pulls away to remove Santana's shirt before continuing to make out. As they do, Santana blindly guides Quinn to the bottom of the bed and unzips the zipper on her shorts. But before she could push them down, the blonde mimics her actions, unzipping her shorts as well.

Then forgetting about the shorts, once again Santana pulls away from her girlfriend's mouth only to kiss and nibble the blonde's neck while unhooking her bra and removes it completely and tosses it aside. Santana then takes a moment to admire the blonde, biting her lip.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Quinn blushes.

Santana shrugs. "Just admiring."

"Well it's really turning me on so you better touch me before I touch myself."

The brunette groans in arousal then finally has Quinn step out of her shorts before stepping out of her own. Then she gently pushes Quinn on to the bed and straddles her lap before making out again with a moan.

Wanting to tease her girlfriend, Santana trails kisses all over the blonde's body, from her neck, to her chest, her stomach, down to her thighs and even leaving love bites there, leaving Quinn moaning and squirming underneath her.

"Enough of the foreplay, I'm about to explode." Quinn moans in frustration.

Santana smirks then places a feather light kiss to Quinn's heated center.

"Ugh, Santana." She bucks her hips. "I'll take care of myself and blue ball you if you don't-" The blonde is cut off by Santana finally giving her some relief. "Fuck." She moans.

Quinn arches her back enjoying the feeling of whatever it is Santana does with her tongue, and then her fingers. However, just when Quinn is about to reach the edge, the Latina pulls away, earning yet another frustrating groan from her girlfriend.

Just when Quinn goes to protest for the third time, Santana positions herself between Quinn's legs, connecting their clits, and instead the blonde lets out a loud moan. Santana thrusts and circles her hips, both panting and moaning until they both reach their climax.

"Oh fuck." Santana moans falling beside Quinn, trying to catch her breath.

"Would that still be considered an afternoon delight?" The blonde suddenly asks, making Santana laugh.

"I guess so. Why?" She asks turning to her side, facing Quinn.

Quinn mirrors Santana, blushing. "I never done that before."

"Really?"

Quinn nods. "I mean Puck wanted to but I never did." Santana leans over for a soft kiss when Quinn's cell phone, discarded on the floor with her shorts, starts to ring. "That's probably Beth. I should warn you she'll probably call me a lot until next week."

Santana shrugs. "That's ok."

Quinn climbs off the bed then grabs her phone before returning to her spot before answering the phone without looking at the number. "Hey, sweets. Are you having fun?"

"Although that's the sweetest greeting I've ever gotten, I have a feeling it was meant for someone else."

Quinn frowns then looks at the number. "Who's this?"

"Mason. I came by the clinic about a week ago with a dog I accidentally ran over. I got your number from the receptionist, I hope that's ok. I wouldn't have if I didn't think it was serious."

"What happened?"

"I think his incision has an infection. I clean it all the time but the other day when I came from work he somehow managed to bite the bandages off and I thought there wasn't any dirt in his incision but now today it's red and swollen." He explains.

"I'm sorry to hear that but I'm afraid I can't help you. I don't know why the receptionist didn't mention this when she gave you my number but I'm not in town. I can give you Dr. Fallon's number though." She offers.

"Oh, alright. Thanks." Although he accepts the offer, he sounds disappointed.

Knowing the number by heart, Quinn tells him what it is before saying their goodbyes and ending the call.

"Who was that?" Santana asks.

"Just someone who came into the clinic about a week ago. His dog's incision might be infected so I gave him Dr. Fallon's number." She explains.

Santana frowns. "He called your cell phone for that?" Quinn nods. "Putting aside the fact that you're not even a veterinarian, how did he get your number?"

The blonde exhales, knowing this will probably lead to their second argument. "The receptionist."

Santana crosses her arms. "He calls the clinic for your number instead of scheduling for an appointment or at least talking to an actual vet?" She arches her brow.

"I don't know what you want me to say, babe. He was the one who called me and I gave him my bosses number." She says helplessly.

Santana lets out a long breath. "I know, I'm sorry. I just got jealous and overreacted."

Quinn smirks. "You're jealous?" The brunette nods, blushing. "Awe, babe, you don't have to be jealous. He's got nothing on you." She winks then pecks Santana's lips.

Santana then straddles the blonde's lap once again and deepens the kiss, making Quinn smile against her lips.

"As much as I love kissing you," she says pulling away, "I also want to enjoy this awesome cabin and the woods." She admits.

"Ok. I'll give you a tour and then we can decide what we want to do, only if we can finish this tonight."

Quinn chuckles. "Deal."

After they put their clothes back on, as promised, Santana gives Quinn a tour of the entire upscale cabin, ending the tour in the backyard.

"I didn't realize there was a lake back here. It's so pretty." Quinn says standing near the water with Santana by her side.

"We'll probably go in the boats at some point." Santana points to the dock with two small boats tied to it. Then the brunette stands right behind Quinn, wrapping her arms around her and lightly kisses her neck. "You think the water is cold?"

The blonde blushes. "I don't know, why do you ask? Plan on swimming today?"

Santana kisses Quinn's cheek and without a word runs toward the lake while removing her clothes down to just her thong, then finally jumps in the water.

"It's a little chilly but it feels great! Come on, baby!" The Latina shouts.

Quinn laughs. "You're crazy!"

"I'm waiting!"

Quinn shakes her head, albeit, with a smile then removes her own clothes down to her thong as well before joint her girlfriend in the lake.

"You know if you just wanted me to take my clothes off again, all you had to do was ask." Quinn flirts swimming toward Santana. "You didn't have to trick me." The blonde wraps her arms around Santana's neck then the brunette has Quinn also wrap her legs around her waist so she's holding them up.

"Is that so?" Quinn nods. "I'll keep that in mind." Santana smiles and catches Quinn's lips in a slow sensual kiss. Then as they make out, the brunette blindly swims closer to one of the boats before breaking the kiss so she can get in.

"What are you doing?" Quinn asks watching Santana climb into the boat. Once seated inside Santana holds out her hand. "Are we paddling around the lake topless?"

Santana smirks. "Why don't you take my hand and find out?"

Quinn laughs finally taking Santana's hand so the brunette can help her get in the boat. Then Santana lays at the bottom of the boat and opens her arms.

"Cuddle with me." Quinn arches her brow. "Oh, come on." Santana pulls the blonde down and has her lay on her chest with a content sigh. "I love coming out here and looking at the clouds." Santana says looking at the sky. "Or the stars at night. Can't get that kind of view in the city, not this clear anyway. It always helps me relax."

"Do you come here often?"

"Every summer."

Quinn nods slowly. "Have you brought Brittany here when you were together?"

Santana looks down at the blonde, eyes narrowed, albeit, with a grin. "Would you be jealous if I said yes?" Quinn shrugs. "A couple times."

A comfortable silence falls above them as the couple enjoy the atmosphere and each other's company for a while until Santana begins kissing Quinn's neck again, making the blonde blush.

"I don't think I have the energy to go again." She admits.

"What do you need to get your energy back?" Santana asks against her skin.

"Hmm, some food, any food."

Santana chuckles. "Ok, but we'll have to go to the grocery store down the road. There's no food here, and nothing's close enough to order out."

Quinn groans. "I wasn't planning on going anywhere but fine." She reluctantly agrees then the couple swim out of the water, then change I today clothes before leaving.

As expected, the grocery store is small and quaint. There are a few other parked cars in the lot besides their own, and Quinn wouldn't be surprised if Santana knew every one of them, even the employees.

"Do they even have everything we need?" Quinn jokes as Santana crabs a cart just as they enter the store. The brunette just snorts and lightly hits Quinn's arm.

"Sanny, is that you?" The pair turn to see a blonde smiling brightly approaching them. "Oh my god, it is." Mystery blonde catches up and hugs Santana. "It's been awhile since you stayed at the cabin with your family. I thought I wouldn't see you again." She tears up. "Your mom kept me updated on your condition but I haven't been able to return her calls in almost a month. How are you?"

"Better, a lot better actually. The cancer is gone, all of it." Santana proudly brags.

"That's really great, congratulations." Mystery blonde smiles, then finally notices Quinn as the other blonde holds her girlfriend's hand. "Sorry, I'm being rude. I'm Whitney, an old friend and neighboring Santana's. Well, only in the summers." Whitney holds out her hand.

Quinn flashes a tight lipped smile, shaking her hand. "Quinn. Sanny's girlfriend." She emphasizes girlfriend, making it clear Santana is taken.

Whitney just nods then turns to Santana. "Please tell me you're staying for two weeks like you always do."

"Of course."

Whitney smiles in victory. "I'm having a bomb fire this weekend feel free to stop by. You remember where my parents cabin is, right?"

"I do. We'll see what our plans are first."

"Of course, that's fine. It was nice seeing you again." Whitney hugs Santana again, this time a little longer than Quinn likes. "Quinn, nice to meet you."

Quinn just flashes another tight lipped smile and waves before turning to Santana. "She wasn't just an old neighbor, was she?"

"We didn't date if that's what you mean." Santana says going down an isle.

"It is but now I want to know what you mean." Quinn follows the Latina.

Santana exhales deeply. "We made out a few times, drunk, that's it." She admits. Quinn slowly nods. The brunette then pulls Quinn close. "You don't have to be jealous." She repeats Quinn's words from earlier. "She's got nothing on you."

Quinn blushes. "Good answer." She pecks Santana's lips then they continue shopping.

As soon as they finish and pay for everything, the couple return to the cabin and cooks breakfast together. While Quinn makes the toast, Santana cooks the eggs and bacon. Although it's no longer morning, the couple decided on brunch for lunch. Looking over at the Latina, Quinn can't help but smile, thinking about how much she has been enjoying her girlfriend's company.

"What has you smiling over there?" Santana asks, making Quinn blush. "You're really that happy I'm making you bacon?" She teases.

Quinn shakes her head, still smiling. "No, I just really like this. Going shopping together and now making breakfast." Santana also blushes. "The only thing that could make this even better would be having Beth with us. I miss her." She confesses.

"Me too." Santana admits. "Remind me, why is she spending the entire week with Puck?"

"We agreed both of us would be able to spend more time with her during the summer. So instead of Puck only having her on the weekend, we switch weeks." She explains.

Santana nods turning off the stove then grabs two plates and puts the eggs and bacon on both. "Why don't you call Puck, ask if you can talk to Beth." She suggests as they get ready to eat.

"I will. When when we're finished eating, I'll-" Quinn is cut off by her cell phone. The blonde excuses herself from the table to retrieve it. Then looking at the number, she frowns in confusion. "Puck? Why are you calling, is Beth ok?"

"Hi, mommy."

Quinn smiles and puts the phone on speaker. "Hi, sweets. Are you having fun?" Santana also smiles, realizing the little blonde has been missing her mother as well.

"Uh huh. We went swimming all day nesterday and we're going back today so I can learn how to swim without my floaties."

"That sounds like a lot of fun. Just be careful, ok?"

"Ok." Beth groans, making Santana laugh. "Where's Tana? I wanna tell her something."

"She's right here. You're on speaker, baby."

"I started to feel bad again cause I was having fun with daddy but then I membered what you said and I felt better."

"I'm glad I can help. And if you ever feel that way again when you're here, just let me or your mother know, ok?"

"Daddy said I won't have to worry about that cause you can't have fun in a dumb old cabin in the middle of no where."

Quinn groans, shaking her head.

"Well your daddy has never been here before but I've been coming here every summer since I was younger than you, and I promise there's lots of fun things we can do."

"Are you finished? I have to use the phone." They can faintly hear Puck say. "I have'ta go, daddy needs the phone. Love you, mommy. Love you, Tana."

"Bye." The couple says in unison. "Love you."

"Why does Puck have to be such an ass?" Quinn asks Santana.

The brunette shrugs. "I don't know but don't let this ruin your day." Santana pulls Quinn's chair closer to her then leans over to kiss and nibble on the blonde's neck. "As much as I'm looking forward to Beth and my family coming next week, we still have a lot of time and rooms to christen."

Quinn's laugh quickly turns into a moan as Santana hits a particular spot on her neck.

"How about we clean this up first." Quinn suggests.

Santana sighs into her girlfriend's neck. "Way you ruin the mood, babe."

Quinn smiles then takes Santana's face into her hands before catching her lips in a heated kiss and pulls away so they don't get too carried away. "If we clean now then we won't have to do it later and it'll give me more time to fuck you on the counter."

Santana bites her lip, already feeling aroused. "Promise?" She husks. Quinn doesn't say anything, instead, she makes out with the brunette again and bites Santana's bottom lip before breaking the kiss. "My my, do you have a way with words."

A week later, Santana and Quinn have christened every room in the house, with the exception of all the closets, and the garage. Now Quinn is insisting on washing all the sheets for a second time.

"Babe, we already washed them." Santana says watching Quinn shove queen sized sheets into the washer with an amused smile.

"I know, I just feel like they'll be able to smell sex all over their sheets." Santana chuckles then gives Quinn a hand when someone knocks at the front door. Quinn looks at the brunette with her eyes wide. "They're here already? They're early." She panics.

"Honey, breathe, relax." Santana attempts to calm the blonde. "There are more sheets upstairs in the bedroom closet, just put those on the bed and if someone happens to ask about what's in the washer, we'll say the sheets are from our bed."

Quinn slowly nods, taking a deep breath. "Ok, that'll work. At least no one would know we had sex in just about every room in this place."

Santana pecks Quinn's lips then goes to greet whoever is at the door and is surprised to see Whitney holding a plate covered in tin foil.

"Whitney, hi." Santana greets, confused.

"Am I interrupting something? You don't sound too thrilled to see me."

Santana waves her off. "No, I'm sorry. I just wasn't expecting a visit from you."

Whitney nods. "Right, then I should be the one apologizing. It's just since you couldn't make it to the bomb fire, I'd thought you would want my mom's double chocolate chip cookies." She says holding up the plate. "I made sure no one ate them all on you."

"Thank you." Santana says taking the plate. "That was really nice of you."

Whitney smiles, then looks past Santana as if she's looking for something. "So what are you and your girlfriend up to?" She asks with a slight edge to her tone.

"Cleaning, mostly. My parents and the family are on their way over. They should be-"

"Santanaita!" A man suddenly appearing behind Whitney shouts obnoxiously.

Santana rolls her eyes. "Jorge, nice to see you again. If you fall asleep, drunk, on the toilet again, then you can start going outside instead, like a dog." She warns him.

Jorge puts his hands up in surrender. "Relax, a little, would ya? I'm on summer vacation, I'm just here to have some fun, and get really drunk." He winks then laughs going into the cabin as Santana shakes her head.

"Still the same Jorge, huh?" Whitney chuckles.

Santana rolls her eyes. "Unfortunately."

"Well, I better go I just wanted to give you that." Whitney points behind her just as Maribel walks up the porch stairs.

"Whitney, I wasn't expecting to see you here." Maribel happily gives the blonde a hug. "It's been a while since you showed your face around here. Don't leave yet, stay, catch up, everyone will be happy to see you."

While Whitney debates whether she should stay or not, Santana is glaring at her mother and shaking her head while trying to mouth to the older Latina it's a bad idea.

"Ok, then I'll stay. But just for an hour or so."

Maribel smiles. "Great. Mija, help your father with the bags." The brunette groans then turns to follow her mother and Whitney inside. "Now, Santana Marie."

"I have to take this inside." She points to the plate. Maribel takes it from her.

"Now go help."

Santana curses under her breath walking over to all the vehicles where Danté and her cousin Javier are unloading the bags, starting with her parents stuff.

"Hola, papi." She greets with a kiss on the cheek.

"Hola, mija." He smiles and kisses Santana back. "I was just telling Javier here that I'm excited to meet your girlfriend's daughter."

Santana blushes. "Well she's not here yet but her father is going to drop her off later. Hola, Javier. How are you?"

Javier smiles. "Good. Kinda nervous to be starting college next semester but I think I'm just more nervous my mom will show up out of no where at my dorm room when I'm trying to bring a girl there or something."

Santana snorts. "You'll be fine but if I were you, I'd be expecting it." She teases, then goes to grab a bag when Danté pulls it back.

"You don't have to help us, we got the bags. Go save your girlfriend from your mother and cousin Jorge."

Santana's eyes widen then she curses under her breath while running inside.

A/N: I honestly almost made this chapter so much longer but I think it's more fun to end it with a semi cliffhanger, lol. Thoughts, questions, concerns? Don't be shy, leave a review.
