Chapter 11: The Dragonsphere
Sorry this took do long, but it was really difficult to write. I'm just happy I managed to make this chapter a little longer than the previous ones. I got the ice tower, Alpha, and Phantom from miscrits. I don't own Ben 10, or miscrits.( imagine that). If you have any ideas for one of my fics, just PM me. Enjoy. :)
Amber was standing in front of a pile of clothes and a suitcase. She waved her hand, and all the clothes were neatly folded and entered the suitcase by themselves. "Well, looks like I'm done with the luggage." She called rook and Ben trough her badge. "Are you done with your luggage, guys?" She asked the two. "I , for one am, beloved." Rook answered promptly. "What about you, Ben?" The girl asked. "I'm done too." "Great. I'll meet you on the plumber's HQ roof."
Amber was already waiting for them, when suddenly big chill phased trough the roof. Rook arrived after two minutes as well . "Wow! I can't believe Ben actually came on time for once." Amber said happily. "Of course I am. I can't believe we're gonna visit the dragon sphere. I bet it's a big planet." "Well, it's not exactly a planet, Ben. It's a floating piece of rock that was created by our ancestors, with an artificially created atmosphere." "But aren't all the people there gonna be like big lizards or something?" "No Ben. The first dragons were actually humans, that had a terrible curse put on them. It was supposed to turn them into monsters, but their conscience remained intact. They were being hunted since the Middle Ages by people and guilds, like the forever knights, so they had to find a new place to live. They constructed the dragon sphere using fragile magic, that was strengthened later. After a couple of generations, they found out how to suppress the curse and gain their human forms back. We only use our dragon forms for fighting. I usually use my shapeshifting powers to keep my human form. It's weird tough, that the dragons advanced so much technologically, but kept their human behavior. Me and the other dragons lived on Petropia for a while, because there was a breach in the magic that kept the dragon sphere together, but we managed to fix it. Enough history. We should get going."
"Very well. My ship is in the underground parking lot."
"We're not gonna take your ship. It wouldn't survive the radiation emitted by the graviton core that holds the rock in one piece. We're gonna take MY ship." Amber said pointing to a purple bike parked next to her. "Seriously? That thing doesn't even have an engine!"
"Oh really?" Amber asked smirking, before pushing a button on the bike. The flimsy vehicle started to crystallize and morph into a huge ship; about ten times the size of Rook's. As they all entered the ship, a girl with red, wavy hair, green eyes, wearing jeans, a white T-shirt, and a blue sweater appeared in front of them."
" Good to see you again, Amber" she said, smiling. "So where to?"
"The Dragonsphere."
"Wow! If your old man sees your boyfriend, it's not gonna be pretty.
"Don't worry. I'll calm him down"
"Who are you?" Ben asked.
"I'm Julie. The artificial intelligence that controls this ship."
"You are incredibly advanced for an artificial intelligence." Rook said, amazed.
"Thanks. That's very nice of you to say."
As the ship left earth's atmosphere, Amber who was sitting in a chair in the middle of the piloting chamber, using her powers to direct the ship. Suddenly, her eyes started glowing a bright purple, as the ship started to speed up. After five hours of traveling, they started slowing down. Then, a huge mass of rock, looking like an island, appeared in front of them.
"Well, this is it, guys! Home sweet home." Amber said, as they landed on a hill. There was a small town near it. It was snowing, the white sparkle covering everything.
"THAT'S IT?!" Ben shouted. " That's the great dragon civilization?! That town's barely big enough to hold 300 people!"
"Well, the curse that altered our genes also messed up our reproduction. Our number only increases with 10 dragons every 100 years." Amber explained.
As they entered the town, they saw a sign that read: " Welcome to Tetranova Valley". As they walked trough the town, they suddenly spotted a medium sized house, with two floors, with a front yard, a back yard, and a large garden.
They entered the house, as a woman's voice was heard.
"Richard, is that you?" She asked, as she entered the hallway, standing frozen for a second, before jumping into Amber's arms.
"Amber! I can't believe it's really you! We missed you so much!" The woman exclaimed.
"I missed you too, mom." The girl said, holding her mother in a tight hug.
You could really see the resemblance between the two females. They both had purple eyes and amulets, long, blonde, and wavy hair, ending just below the shoulder blades. But the woman looked so young, that she could have been mistaken for Amber's sister.
"Oh! I forgot to present Ben and Rook to you." Amber remembered.
"Your best friend, and your boyfriend, huh?" The parent said with a smile. "I'm Alice, by the way."
"B-but how did you know?" Rook asked, torn between astonishment, respect, and fear.
"Now now, sweetie, I'm mom. I know everything." She replied cheerfully, but with a note of sadism.
Suddenly, a tall male, with black hair, formed in a stylish hair due, and forest green eyes entered the residence.
He just stood there astonished, before hugging Amber tight.
"My little angel! You came home!"
"I missed you very much, dad." Amber replied to her father. "Dad, these are Rook and Ben, guys, this is my dad, Paul."
The father's eyes glowed a deep shade of green, like jade before glaring at Rook.
"You must be her new boyfriend." He said slowly, and sharply. Rook felt himself paralyze under the glare of the adult, the fur on the back of his neck bristling , and his breath stopping in his throat. He was choking. Suddenly, Amber stepped between the two males, and breaking the eye contact, so that Rook wouldn't die of asfixation .
"Seriously, dad?"
"What? I just welcomed him to our family." He said, with an extremely innocent look on his face. The girl just rolled her eyes.
"Anyways, where's Cam?" Amber asked.
"He's at the temple with the others."
Her mother answered.
"We'll go and see what he's up to. "
Amber said, before exiting the house together with Ben and Rook.
"Who's Cam?" Ben asked.
"He's my brother. " the girl answered, leaving Ben and Rook astonished. "He looks like a younger version of dad."
"I did not know that you had temples, beloved."
"Well, we actually just found it here. It's abandoned, so juvenile dragons converted it in a base. I took part in the project too. Because I can regenerate large parts of my body, I became a defuser."
"A defuser?" Ben asked curious.
"Yeah. Basically, I ran around the temple, screaming like a maniac, triggering every single light-, sound, and pressure sensitive trap. I got crushed 17 times. Not to mention the poisoned darts!" She said, laughing.
As they arrived at the top of a hill, they could see a dense jungle 2 or 3 miles away. " From here we have to use this." Amber said, passing trough a few bushes, and revealing a small, floating Venetian boat with clouds covering it's bottom, that was tied to the ground. The girl jumped in, inviting her friends.
"B-but how?" Ben asked, amazed.
"Basic magic." Amber responded , untying the boat, as the males climbed in. She the grabbed a paddle with the same white mist on it's end. As the boat floated above the clouds, the girl searched for something around them, with narrowed eyes.
"What are you looking for, my gemstone?" Rook asked.
"The right airflow. Our atmosphere has powerful currents of air that we use to travel." She answered, as her eyes widened in triumph, spotting the airflow. She rowed the boat in that direction, so the flow would carry them. As they reached the rapid, they were carried trough the sky at an incredibly high speed, and reached the temple in a couple of minutes. It was covered in vegetation, that didn't seem to be bothered by the cold at all. The girl directed the boat towards the ground, tied it, and jumped off, together with her friends. The temple looked like an aztec pyramid, but every floor was fortified, and it didn't have any stairs or main entry. They entered the temple trough a secret tunnel, and entered trough a trap door in the floor of the temple.
They saw a teen, looking about their age, with deep, forest green eyes, black hair and very well built, working out with a huge weight. He was wearing jeans, and his T-shirt was off, the temple being quite warm. He had a small tattoo representing an eye, with its pupil being merely a slit, on his palm. There was a wolf next to him, that had it's paws and body made out of tree bark. He had a tail that was made out of green leaves. his head was also plant like, and green. As the teen spotted Amber, he dropped the weight , while his top part of the body turned plant like, and reappeared human, but this time being covered by the green T-shirt. That happened in seconds. He then gave her a tight and affectionate hug, while the dog started barking happily, moving it's tail left and right.
"I can't believe you're finally home again." The boy exclaimed.
"Ben, Rook, this is my older brother Cameron. Cam, these are Ben, my friend and Rook, my boyfriend." She presented. "This is alpha. " she then said, pointing at the dog.
"Nice to meet you." Cam said, shaking their hands, and smiling, showing normal teeth, except for his canines, which were as long and sharp as Rook's. "We should go in the main room. The others will be very happy to see you, sis." Amber's brother said, while he pressed a button on the wall, that had general gathering written on it.
As they entered the room, they saw a bunch of teenagers hanging around. But when they noticed the purple eyed girl, they all started cheering, and giving her hugs. After Amber presented the two plumbers to the group, she started presenting the dragons to the two males.
She started with a hazel eyed girl, wearing jeans, a brown sweater, long, straight hair, the same color as her sweater, reaching just below the shoulder blades, and a belt that had all sorts of badges patched on it,just like a scout, but one of them was a brown gemstone.
" Rook, Ben, this is Anna. She's the leader of the local scout troops."
"Nice to meet you." She said " I'm the main helper around here, because of my ability to manipulate gravity, and open portals, so we can cover long distances instantly."
" That is, if she gets the destination right." Cam said, giving her a meaningful look.
"Oh come one! It was that one time! How was I supposed to know that It was a red giant? I wanted to project the portal towards the winter kingdom!"
"Just think of it. We were all wearing winter outfits" Cam said to Ben.
As they entered another room, that was larger, they saw two teenagers , a male and a female, fighting, not seeming to have observed them. They both looked about the same age. The male was tall, had jet black hair, and bright, yellow eyes. He wore a yellow T-shirt and jeans, and eyes the same color as his jeans.
The girl he was fighting had faded pink eyes, and wavy, blond hair. She wore a pink blouse, with a red heart on the chest.
" This is the training room." Amber explained.
The male's body suddenly turned completely yellow, his facial features disappearing. All that remained were two focused white eyes. He then started flying at an incredibly high speed, stretching his hands out, and joining them, and shooting a powerful yellow laser beam at his opponent.
The pink eyed girl suddenly turned întors a small , red creature, with a heart on it's chest, strongly resemnling a colibri. She easily dodged the lasers, and landed on the ground, reverting to her human form, and launching a column of fire, that completely engulfed the yellow creature.
After the flames cleared, they could see that her opponent was shielded by a spherical force field, having the same color as his body, that he surrounded himself with. The two were ready to launch another round of attacks, when Amber stuck two fingers in her mouth, and whistled.
The two looked at Amber, surprised, stopped their onslaught -the male turning human again- and walked towards her.
After they hugged, Amber did the presentations.
"Ben, Rook, these are Rose Donovan, Rosy for friends, and Nigel Smith.
"Nice to meet you." Rosy and Nigel said, shaking their hands. Ben and Rook could see that Rosy was wearing a small silver bracelet, having a pink gem on it. Suddenly, a beeping noise was heard. The gem on Rosy's bracelet projected an image, where a teenager could be seen. He looked worried.
"Oh, hi Aiden! " Rosy said "Guess what, Amber came home!"
"That's great!" He exclaimed " But I think we have a problem. You should all come to the winter kingdom as fast as you can." The image then disappeared.
"What's the winter kingdom?" Ben asked.
"It's a part of the Dragonsphere that only has one season: winter. They found Anna and told her about Aiden's message.
"The winter kingdom is too far away. It would take too long to get there on foot. We need you to teleport us there." Amber told her.
"Wait a minute. When we fought Billy Billions, you teleported us in his building. Why can't you do it now?" Ben asked.
"Because dragons can only teleport when they're young. We lose this ability when we get older. And besides, they can only teleport about 100 feet, before running out of energy." Amber explained.
Anna then opened up a portal, that had the colors brown and black swirling in it. Rosy stepped trough first, when suddenly an ignited red gas and flames erupted from the portal, the fire materializing, and turning into the pink eyed girl.
"Seriously, Anna. The red giant again?" She asked.
"Okay. Let's try that again." Ana said, with a sheepish smile on her face."
As they stepped trough a second portal, the air suddenly got colder, as they saw that they were not in the temple anymore. It was snowing. They saw a palace, that was made out of ice.
"Well, here we are. The winter kingdom." Amber said. "Rosy, could you please give us some warmth?"
"Sure" she answered, as she engulfed everyone in flames. Rook and Ben were amazed. They didn't feel pain. The flames kept them warm, though.
As they walked around, they saw a group of three males, that were studying some strange footprints. One was Cam, the other one was Aiden, and the third one was somebody they didn't know. Aiden, like all dragons, was tall, and almost buff. He had dark hair, and hazel eyes. He had a brown leather strap around his wrist, with a red gemstone on it.
The other male had raven black hair, and blue eyes. He wore a T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers, all having the same color as his hair. He had a small, black veil around his neck, that could have easily covered most of his facial features.
Amber presented the unknown teenager as Mason Vaughn.
"So, what's the emergency?" Amber asked Aiden.
"THIS is the emergency." Aiden said, pointing to a black ooze in the snow.
"Oh my god!" Amber exclaimed . "That's void matter. What happened here?"
"As far as we know, something escaped from the Rift." Mason said.
"Ok! Time out!" Ben interrupted. "What's this ' Void Matter', and why is it so important, anyway?" He asked.
"You'll see soon. We have to get to the Rift." Anna said, as she opened a portal. Aiden took a chunk of snow, together with the ooze, and put them in a small, glass container. As they all passed trough it, they suddenly found themselves in front of a huge canyon, that was full of an eerie glowing light. "THIS is the Rift." Anna said.
" There are cracks." Amber continued, " cracks in the fabric of the universe. Beyond them lurks an ancient creature, called the void. It lives in the space between the universes. This creature can only reach our universe trough the cracks. It devours someone's very existence, until the crack is filled, and seals itself. Usually, they are small, so they can only absorb small events from your life, before closing. But this one is the biggest one known. It's so big, that no matter how much it feeds, it never closes. The only thing that's keeping the void from escaping and devouring the universe, is a spell that was cast on the Rift, by the first dragon. But if this spell is broken -which is extremely unlikely, because it's infinitely powerful- , the void will be set free, engulfing every single universe, and finally, the forge of creation."
"But the celestial sapiens can defeat him, right?" Ben asked. " I mean, they can do anything."
"Yes", Cam explained, "but the Void is at least as powerful and ancient as them."
"So the black ooze that we saw is actually Rift energy?" Rook asked.
" Pretty much." Mason confirmed. "But there's one thing I don't understand. The magic barrier created by the spell doesn't let anything pass trough it. So how did whatever we're looking for get out?"
" hmmm... Let me try something." Amber said, before forming a purple ball in her hands. She threw the ball in the Rift, but the object bounced off an invisible wall. " Ok. So the spell blocked the ball. But if I use some magic from the graviton core... Anna. You can conduct the magic from the graviton core, even if only in small amounts. Could you please give me some?" The brown haired girl closed her eyes, forming a a swirling portal, that kept swirling faster and faster, until it became a tiny sphere, that she handed to Amber. The blonde then merged the ball with the sphere, and threw it again. This time, it partially passed trough the barrier, before bouncing off. " Now, imagine what you could do with more graviton magic.
"You mean; the breach that caused us to live on Petropia, wasn't an accident?" Cam asked.
"Exactly. I think that the Void somehow managed to destabilize the core of the Dragonsphere, and siphon enough magic to project a small part of it out of the Rift."
"Well, shouldn't we search for it?"
Ben asked.
"We already did. But the small puddle we saw was everything we found." Aiden said, throwing the container high, willing a bow made out of electricity in his hands, and shooting the ooze with a lightning arrow, that destroyed it.
As they were warped back to their homes, Cam said to his sister:
" Oh! By the way, Phantom is feeling much better now."
"Who's Phantom?" Ben asked.
"He's my cat. He caught a severe disease, that could only have been cured with bed rest, and quarantine." The girl answered.
She walked up the stairs in the house, and stopped in front of a room with a biohazard
poster on it. Amber willed sharp, crystal claws from her hands, and ripped the poster off the door. They entered, and saw a huge black feline, two times the size of a panther, with jet black fur, and two yellow stripes descending in zig zag from it's eyes, resembling Rook's stripes, and having the form of lightning bolts. It growled, baring it's sharp, deadly fangs, it was ready to pounce on Ben and Rook, before spotting Amber.
It then started to purr, running up to her and licking her face, mewling.
Ben and Rook were astonished.
"Don't worry. He'll warm up to you too, once he gets to know you." Cam stated.
"Really?" Ben asked.
"If he doesn't rip you in shreds first." The green eyed dragon responded, smiling.
" So, are you up for some snowboarding?" Amber asked the three males.
"Where exactly?" Cam asked, smirking.
"How about the Bermore mountain?"
"Nice. The only mountain that has a track with an angle of 180 degrees."
They ran down the stairs, while willing some matching winter coats to form on them. Amber then formed a purple, iridescent, crystal snowboard, with beautiful patterns on it. Cam also used his powers to grow a snowboard made out of polished wood, with complicated carvings on it.
"We're going snowboarding, mom!"Amber shouted, while exiting the house.
"Have fun!" came the reply, from the kitchen.
They reached the boat, that magically got bigger, as they entered it. By then, be got his hover board out, and Rook turned his Proto tool into a hover board as well. Amber called some of her friends as well, and, by the time they reached the mountain, Rosy, Nova, Aiden, Anna, Mason, and a teenager they haven't met yet. He had hair and eyes the color of sand, and wore a shawl around his neck, of the same color. The piece of clothing was what was usually used by desert travelers to protect their faces, from the burning sun, and the sandstorms. The teen had a very tanned skin.
"This is Omar Massri" Amber presented. He lives in the Lummox desert, not too far away from our town."
"So, is everyone ready?" Rosy asked.
" Of course we are!" Amber exclaimed. "Geronimooooo!" She screamed, as she jumped off the cliff.
She crouched on her board, until it touched the frozen wall, and then she stood upright.
The others jumped off too, except for Ben and Rook. They were pulled down by Rosy, because they were too afraid to jump off. The mountain had an exact height, that was indicated by a sign at it's top: 5 miles. They kept descending at an increasing speed. Suddenly Ben asked her purple eyed friend:
"And what exactly happens when we get down?"
"We improvise." Came the answer."
Ben and Rook then panicked, their entire lives flashing in front of their eyes, a thing that happened surprisingly fast. When they nearly reached the ground, Amber formed a crystal track, that continued at an increasingly smaller angle, until they reached the ground safely.
"Well, that was fun, but I think these two have had enough." Amber said, pointing to Rook and Ben, who were shivering, having traumatized looks on their faces. " We should get them home." She said, while Anna formed a portal, that brought their boat from the top of the mountain. The four teens jumped in, and began paddling, until they found a current that carried them home.
As they reached the Reynolds residence, Amber didn't enter. " I need to go see some friends, that weren't in the temple, and visit my grandparents." She said, walking away.
In the house:
Cam, followed by Rook and Ben entered his room. It had a hardwood floor, and the walls were painted in a pale green, that had a calming effect, without having a bright shade, that hurts your eyes, and looks gaudy.
The room had many potted plants, and a window replacing an entire wall, letting lots of sunlight in the room.
" I believe the plants are thriving due to the large amount of light." Rook said.
"Not just them. I feed off the light too." Cam said, his hand turning green and plant like, and sprouting a few leaves, before turning human again.
"Wow. Your sister is made out of crystals, and you're plant like. Isn't that a little bit too different for a single family?" Ben asked.
" Not really. Each dragon is made out of one ore more types of matter. Our mother is made out a crystaline matter, while our father is made out of a plant like matter. To us, it's normal. It's just like someone inheriting their father's dark hair, only on a larger scale."
"And what's with the sharp teeth?" Ben asked.
"Well, I can't only feed from light. I have sharp teeth, because I can also feed on blood, or drain the life force out of stuff. Kind of like a vampire that likes sunlight." He said.
Suddenly, Alpha jumped out of a group of plants, waving his tail, and barking at Ben and Rook, while his tongue was hanging out of his mouth." He wants to play outside." Cam said, exiting the room, followed by the dog, and the other two males.
They went in the backyard, where Cam picked up a stick, and threw it, the dog running to fetch it.
Amber, after making several visits:
Amber visited each one of her friends families. Now, she just needed to go see her grandparents. First, the ones from her father's side of the family.
Inside a medium house, with eight rooms, an old woman, looking about 55 or 60 years old, was sitting in an armchair, writing some lines on the script in her hand. She had dark hair, that reached to her shoulders. Her skin and face belonged to a woman that knew how to age gracefully, not trying any cheap and ineffective tricks to try and make herself look younger. She looked like someone that still loves, and is still loved. Her name was Catherine Reynolds. Her husband, Michael Reynolds, was seated in another armchair, next to her, reading a novel. Even though he was 60 years old, he looked much younger. He still had lots of rich and silky hair, even if it was grey. He could still have been easily considered attractive by most 50 or even 40 year old women. His greatest asset was his laughter, a cascade of youth, revealing a denture that would have made even a Hollywood star jealous. Unlike most old men, that look like they have forgotten their gender, he had masculine traits, that remained from his youth.
Suddenly they heard the sound of the doorbell. They opened it, and saw their granddaughter standing in front of them. The look of surprise and joy could be seen on their faces.
" Sweetie! You came home!" Catherine exclaimed happy, her husband already hugging Amber tight. They invited her in, and she started telling her about everything she experienced on earth. After an hour, they said goodbye, as the girl exited the house, and walked away, to visit her grandmother from her mother's side.
In the small house, that was made up of three rooms, Melanie Johnson was sitting in her huge armchair, watching a cowboy movie. Toby, her black cat, was curled up on one of the arms, sleeping.
"Yes, Toby, I agree. This movie isn't very entertaining. I don't understand the difference between a movie starring normal actors, and a movie starring popular actors. It's all about the script." A barely perceptible growl could be heard from the cat. "Oh! You're hungry. Well, there should be a piece of ham left in the fridge." She went in the kitchen, and came back with some slices of ham, and a bowl of warm milk, in which she poured a thimble of rum. ' Men need a drink that keeps them warm in winter, my dear.' she always told herself. 'And Toby is no exception.'
Her blue eyes; pansies that were pressed in an album decades ago, looked at the cat with satisfaction. After her husband died, she had to get used to live on her own. Kate wanted her to live together with her family, but she refused. 'The last thing they need, my dear, is an old person getting involved in their lives. And besides, I'm starting to like this independence.'
She then heard the doorbell, and answered it, only to see her granddaughter in front of her. "Oh, my dear! What a pleasant surprise! Come in. Come in." Melanie said, with a look of happiness on her face. The girl sat on a sofa, and Toby came towards her, purring, as she started to scratch the cat's ears. " How is earth, sweetie? The last time I visited, I think it was in the 90's, the people were very nice. I must tell you, my dear, that I befriended a very agreeable gentleman. He was a detective. It happened when I found those two nice paintings in the wall of my house. You know, sweetie, they even left me take them as souvenirs."
The girl looked at a wall, where the paintings were hung.
'When she gets bored, she steals art. I remember the 'gentleman''. The poor guy suffered a nervous breakdown.
'The only two persons you could never fool with your appearance, dear, were Amber and Alice.' Melanie thought.
After the girl talked with Her grandmother for another half hour, she headed home.
She found the boys outside, playing with Alpha and Phantom. She joined them, for a few minutes, before they heard Alice call them to dinner. She made roast beef with mash potatoes.
After dinner, they showed Rook and Ben the rooms they'll be sleeping in. Each of the two had a clean, medium sized room, with a window that had a view of the street and front yard.
Meanwhile, the two siblings were talking, while they headed towards Amber's room. As soon as they entered, Amber started tinkering with some potions on her desk.
"So, sis, how's your new boyfriend?"
"Not bad, considering he isn't a dragon. But I can tell that there's something else on your mind. You look worried."
"Yeah. I guess I'm just worried about the thing with the void."
" Who wouldn't be? We all know what that thing's capable of." She said, adding some red leaves to a potion.
"Yeah, but it just seems weird. Why go trough all the effort of somehow stealing magic from the core; lots of it, actually, only to project something that's barely bigger than a goldfish? I've searched for more void matter, but there isn't any outside the rift ."
"Maybe it was a desperate attempt. What would you do if you were stuck between universes for billions and billions of years?" She added three black pebbles into the mixture.
"I guess I would try something like that. But it's still weird."
"Well, we'd better call it a night. I'm really tired." Amber said, putting a potion on the desk. If you looked at it, you couldn't tell what color it had. It wasn't even transparent.
Around midnight, Amber woke up. She willed her pajamas to turn into her normal clothes, only black. She then grabbed the potion she made while talking to her brother, and jumped out the window. As she exited the property, a voice called behind her:
"Going somewhere?", Cam asked ,
grinning, also dressed in black jeans, and a black T-Shirt.
"Rook you long enough." Came the answer.
"Sorry, I had a little snack." He said, wiping a drop of blood off a canine.
"Anyway, let's go to the winter kingdom." She said, pouring a bit of the oily mixture on the ground. You could see the winter kingdom trough the puddle. They both stepped in it, and started sinking, until they came out in the winter kingdom.
"It's not gonna freeze, is it?" Cam asked.
"Don't worry. I put fire tree leaves to the mixture. " They headed for the tower near them. " The ice tower. Remember what the legend about this place was?"
"That it's the farthest the void ever got out. There used to be a castle, but the creature wiped it out of existence. Only this tower survived.
They searched around the tower for a while, but didn't find anything. They entered the tower. It was a dark and cold place. Even colder than outside. The walls, floor, and roof were covered in a thick layer of ice. But there wasn't anything there.
That night, Amber knocked on Rosy's window.
"Amber? Do you know what time it is?" Rosy asked exasperated and sleepy.
"Sorry, but there's something I've gotta tell you. Back on earth, a guy stole Ben's girlfriend using a love song. One of the songs YOU composed."
"WHAT?! But that's impossible!"
"It's one of the songs that we use to manipulate enemies when we're undercover on another planet."
"Well, I have no idea how that could've happened. Let me check my notebook." She opened a pink, spiral notebook, and flipped trough the pages that had music notes and texts written on them. Suddenly, she froze. One of the pages was ripped out. "I-it's gone! But who-"
"I have no idea. But this is bad. We have to investigate."
"I'll start searching tomorrow."
"Alright. Well, I have to go now. "
But Rosy gripped her arm as she stood up.
"Look, Amber. I don't know who might've caused this, but they knew EXACTLY what to take. That was the most powerful song I had. This is serious."
"I'll continue investigating on earth. Maybe I'll be able to make Herve tell me where he got the song. We'll get to the bottom of this."
After a week , it was finally time to go. Amber, Ben and Rook had already packed their bags and put them in the ship.
"Well, sweetie, I'm. Glad you could visit us. Though wished you would stay more." Alice said.
" Don't worry, mom. I'll visit you more often. But now we really have to go."
"Well, alright. And don't worry about the Void. We'll contact you if anything happens."
"And even if I don't really like this Rook guy, if he makes you happy, then I'll give him a chance." Matt muttered.
"Thanks, dad." Amber hugged her parents tight, before embarking on the ship, together with phantom, and lifting off.
"What's wrong, Amber?" Ben asked.
"I can't stop thinking about the void problem. What if it's connected to Rosy's stolen song?"
Meanwhile, in the ice tower:
A black ooze spiraled trough the floor, and two dark, evil eyes, -old eyes, that have seen everything- opened in it, a thick, monstrous voice echoing trough the chamber..
"The stolen song was just the beginning. It is just part of something bigger. But before you will realize that, Amber Reynolds, you will be caught in my trap. You, and the rest of this universe!"
Don't you guys just love cliffhangers? MUAHAHAHAHAHA!:) Review, fav and follow!
CDP, out. :)
